Awesome customer service
Super friendly and helpful.. great service
Where to begin. I've purchased 3 vehicles from Steelve VW (2 Golfs, 1 Jetta) in the past 7 years. The purchasing of the vehicles has always been a good experience and I don't have issues with the sales department. The service department and aftercare of the vehicles is where I have issues. On my 2011 Golf TDI we noticed a burning smell when being driven, booked and appointment and took it in. Was told that we had seized rear brakes and that the calipers, rotors and pads needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,200. Called around a few places and ended up chatting with Chris at Kraftwerx, in the end it needed just 1 caliper and a flush and cost less that $200. Purchased a 2016 Golf R and except for warranty repairs I have been going to Kraftwerx for service. In early Nov 2018 I needed to get winter tires installed and my 45K service done, Kraftweks was booked up for a bit so I booked an appointment in at Steele. Paid $295 for tire install and 45k Service. 3 weeks later and my check engine light comes on, Steele is booked for weeks so I cant get in to have a scan on the vehicle. Take it to the guys at Kraftwerx who scanned it and looked over the engine (at no charge) and found the spark plugs are misfiring, low coolant and a water pump leak. Kind of wondering what I paid for just a few weeks ago. Now on hold for over 30 minutes trying to get an appointment to get it fixed as it should have been done before and covered under warranty. I am now on my 3rd visit to get the above issues resolved, they take the vehicle for the day then call me to say they couldn't get everything done and that I'll have to make another appointment to bring it back. It just feels like my business and time is not really worth anything to them.
I didn't go there
I recently had to stop into Steele on my way to Yarmouth from St. John. My car was having major issues. The folks at Steele took me in without appointment, diagnosed the car's check engine and flashing glow plug light (indicating a major engine management malfunction). .it ended up being an accelerator module. They found some other issues that made me turn back for home. They likely saved mt car and definitely saved my time by taking me in that day! Thanks guys!
Went in for oil change, shout out to awesome video clip from Morgan detailing what they did. And to Michelle on the front service counter always friendly and great service !!!!!
Very good dealership. They are customer focused and try to make the entire process as easy as possible. I was a 12 year Honda buyer until they converted me to the German side!
As I mentioned to Jeff already - he has went above and beyond to ensure that my partner and I got the right car for a price that fit our budget! Great service and clear communication. Definitely the Volkswagen dealer to go to!
Worst car dealership period.
Good service. Good cars. Love VW.
My sales rep was amazing to deal with and made the experience easy. 10/10 and highly recommend!
Great service and friendly people. If I could give them a 6th star I would!
Great service!
This place is awesome. The staff are amazing and well informed of everything to do with Volkswagen. They made me feel like a million bucks walking out with my first vehicle and the service department are one of a kind. They are amazing and kind and know their stuff. Everyone in the city should come to this place for service.
Had a fantastic experience buying a new Golf TIS from Steele! Anita Aucion was a great salesperson to deal with, no pressure, found what we wanted and made us feel welcome! Thank you!
Friendly service department!
Pleasant to deal with, both sales and service. It's a more intimate dealership, not a typical big box location. As a result, I feel like a valued customer, not just a number.
Great selection of vehicles, knowledgable sales team and high quality service!
I have always received excellent customer service here.
I had been looking for a vehicle and made an appointment online with Steven Qiang at Steele VW on Windmill Road, Dartmouth. On Monday, I was given the keys and when I got down the road the check engine light came on and I couldn’t accelerate more than about 15km. This street is very busy and when I tried to get into the right lane to get off the road and heard lots of horn honking. It was very dangerous. When I turned off the road and called he asked me, “ Can you bring it back?” My response was, “No, I don’t feel safe doing this.” He sent an employee to pick me and my friend up. When we got back to the dealership, I wasn’t talked to about this, no apology and no follow up. This wasn’t a good experience at all. I was very disappointed with the lack of service and care of the vehicle for my well-being along my friend.
Nice showroom. The variety of vehicles is large. If they do not have your particular VW the sales staff will get it for you. They pulled out all the stops for our daughter.
Great experience. Staff are wonderful.
I do love this dealer, they are very helpful. They sold my niece a golf last year. I would have bought from them myself if the new ID4 was available. I just wish they would not park in the EV charger spots. If they are concerned about the cost, some VW dealers charge a nominal fee to cover costs. It is the only DC charger available to the public on the Dartmouth side unless you want to drive to Elmsdale. Thanks again for putting this charger in, and being such a reputable dealer. Steele is always my first choice.
very helpful service dept
Great service, friendly atmosphere!
My experience with Steve started well and it just got better with Erica & Alice. The team is so helpful. I purchased my pre owned SUV and the few things we noticed that were a concern for MVI, they had fixed and I got the car within 2 weeks, sooner than they had promised. Such a great experience and not like your average dealership. Never felt pressured and they were all helpful and honest! I’ve had it for 2 months now and I just got a thank you card in the mail, a great touch.
Good customer service/friendly
Went in for the 12 year rust warranty - had amazing service from people who truly want to help - and i also ended up leaving with a new to me car. friendly staff, very professional, and fun to be around. My experience was great - I would recommend Jeff Grasley.
Great service And attentive to details.
Great service/experience with the general manager Patrick Lawrence! :)
My mom and I love coming to the service dept.
Fantastic service, the whole team is absolutely wonderful! On my latest trip there Trevin Jennex helped me out, and I couldn't have asked for a more helpful, and kind individual who went above and beyond, as well as show me some features in my vehicle I wasn't aware of! Steele Volkswagen is a picture perfect representation of a fantastic business!
Small paint damage when I bought car , said they would fix it. Dropped car off, I showed up unexpectedly when vehicle came back from body shop to discover drivers side seat was dirty as body shop didn't use protective cover on my seat. Next day went to pick up car and there was more damage to paint on my bumper than originally. Spoke to new car salesman about paint damage and he said he would personally inspect work. They took car back and tried to buff it out and said it was all done. When I showed up to pick up vehicle you could still see paint damage. Unbelievable!!! I took it to 3rd party body shop and they could still see the damage and promptly fixed it. Several days later when it was sunny noticed scratches allover my hood, unable to see when cloudy, took car back to dealer and turns out the protective hood wrapping was lose during transport and scratched my hood. Another trip back to 3rd party body shop to fix where they noticed my hatch rubbing on bumper. They buffed bumper scratches but few days later scratches are back. Called GM to inform him and he said this will be the last fix , unbelievable!!! Car had 38km when original paint damage work was down and now has 2000 km and this will be my last fix on something that I NEVER did to the car. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE Steele Volkswagen.
In for a vehicle recall. Everything was done fine
Great Place to purchase new and used vehicle. Highly recommended.
My last experience at Steele Volkswagen will hopefully be my last. I was right next to the dealership when the EPC and engine lights came on. The service department was closed but they had time to see it the next day. They called me at 3pm with a quote for $1,034 and change because my coil, wires, and spark plugs needed to be replaced. I explained to the service associate that I had just changed the coil and spark plugs four months earlier at a different shop but she kept making excuses for why it all needed to be changed. I picked up my car, paid $116 for the diagnostic test, and got my car fixed for $155 at Mighty Auto. Looking back at all the work I had done here, I really question how much I spent on my car unnecessarily. They're about sales, not service. I will never go back.
Surprisingly for a car dealership, my two interactions with this business have been positive. Reliable, fair and reasonable pricing in the service department are a refreshingly unexpected in this industry. Keep up the good work and I just might visit when I'm due for a new set of wheels.
I have to work with a VW dealership in Halifax regarding the VW Settlement Program. Being outside the country makes it difficult and complicated for me to coordinate the process. My initial contact with Steele VW was excellent. From the receptionist to the person responsible for the program (Ann), the service is friendly and helpful. I have a good feeling that I will be well taken care of every step of the way. Thank you in advance and I look forward to working with you!
You quoted me $1,225 to fix a torn alternator belt, a seized pulley and a seized roller. I fixed my vehicle in your parking lot for $35. I had UAP/NAPA on Kenpt look at it again and they said those components were fine. I just replaced the belt. Another reason not to trust dealerships on Windmill, including this one who seeks to bankrupt a single father living in this expensive city. Can't recommend you for your lack of honesty and incredible greed.
Excellent dealership, went in there unsure of what i was interested in and came out with a new car. Sales staff is incredible. Very knowledgeable about what they are selling and willing to stand behind their product 100%. Without a doubt one of best if not the best dealership in all of HRM.
Excellent dealership. Car was taken in quickly. Service dept kept me updated periodically with updates on my cars status and had me on the road again in no time. Very happy with my visit to Steele VW.
Excellent staff and customer service
Went in there at lunch time. Asked specifically for a Golf TDI Wagon. The sales guy was in the mood like "whatever, he's not really interested anyway"... He didn't even try to help - just a plain "we don't have something like that and if we order one from another dealer, the deal has to be firm"! Which deal? OK, here's another customer who'll buy his car not in the Halifax area! :-(
Very friendly staff. Great service.
Great selection of VW apparel and parts in stock.
the advert for a 2016 tiguan showed the model to be a comfortline. with leather seats, moon roof. the vehicle was a tredline so no leather and no moon. And all i got from them was to 'blame the company that posted the ad." which is still up.today.
Hi just wanted to say that happy to see customer service is no 1 at your dealership thanks to this ad i will make this go viral and buy a different brand ......so people don't buy a car at your dealershipe.... So Friday we dropped our Jetta off at Steele VW on Windmill Rd in Dartmouth to get a recall item fixed (which they hounded us to get done). When we picked in up 4 hrs later, we had a lovely surprise, a huge dent in our back bumper. Now whether an employee backed into something or someone else hit it in the lot, they had care/custody and control of the vehicle during that time. We now are faced with a dealership who is refusing to take responsibility and a hefty repair bill (or insurance claim with risk of higher rates)! So upset to have this now hanging over our heads on a leased vehicle. NEVER LEASE OR BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! An employee told Clint that she didn't want or have to deal with him! HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE.
This is the place to go, if you want to be treated with respect and have a group of people who actually want to get you in the car you want. Not the one they want to get rid of. The service from Steve who got me in the car I wanted, right down to the rims, and colour , and Trevor who went out of his way to make the deal go through at a very fair price. The cars are as amazing as the people and service you will get. I can not say enough about the great experience I had purchasing my new 2021 VW Jetta.
Steele Volkswagen on Windmill Road tried to rip off my wife, actually managing to get $100 plus tax off of her for literally re-telling her what she told them when she arrived. then they wanted even more to actually fix it. message me and I would be glad to tell you the details.
Purchased a VW Tiguan 10 months ago and I thought this was a great dealership.... This was based on my purchasing experience. Sadly I was wrong. When it came to booking my first service appointment later this week I found out that I was able to drop the car of at 1:00 PM and it should be done by 5. not a great option when you live 200 km away. I was also offered an appointment about 6 weeks from now with a bit better timing schedule. I think they took a page from our Hospital Emergency Healthcare Department. I had much higher expectations from Steele Volkswagen :( Update: Shortly after posting this I received a phone call from the service department and accommodation was made for a long distance situation. Thanks Steele..
Great patient staff I was put in the exact vehicle I wanted the 2019 tiguan. Thanks again steele.
I bought a used KIA in November last year in this dealership. There were little issues with the exterior of the car that were addressed. Special gratitude to salesperson Steven. Who was always available and ready to help. Overall the deal was done fast and all my suggestions were fully covered. I would recommend this dealership.
The cheapest place in the HRM to get springs and struts for my used Volkswagen, hard to believe the dealer was the cheapest place, then I got the parts installed by a pro
Wifi friendly staff
Jeff Grasley went the extra mile for me. Great service!
I'm typically wary of the big players who buy the mom and pops, but the service I've received over the years here continues to impress me. They are personal and friendly.
In stock items
Steele Volkswagen has been very accommodating. They are the second VW dealership that we called in the area and we got a positive vibe from them. We're currently traveling all the Eastern Canada provinces and our suspension broke. The first place said that they'll try but can't promise to get us serviced that day but Lisa at Steele was sure she could get us in but let us know if the part isn't common, we may have to wait till the next day. Glen gladly drove us downtown to sight see while we waited. Lisa called within 20 minutes and had our car fixed in under 3 hours and Glen picked us back up despite having a busy schedule that afternoon. Thank you for the great experience! If we lived in the area we would definitely keep using them in the future.
Have been dealing with this dealership for 5 years. Have always had prompt service and instant responses when booking a service appointment online. I have tried to book 3 times this week and have still not heard back from them. I have heard that perhaps this is all through a call center now - if that is the case - certainly not the customer service I have been experiencing in the past :(
Great experience from start to finish, not my first Steele VW and won’t be my last!
Good staff. Zach and Steve are great and Patti the business manager is super nice.
Great sales experience with Steve Qiang. We will see how the service is over the next few months...?
Jeff was awesome!
I have been dealing with a smell and no water dripping from the AC underneath my car all summer. It’s been the hottest and most humid summer we have had in YEARS, so there should be water dripping from the AC and pooling under the car after use. EVERY other vehicle we own or have owned does/did no matter the temperature. This one did last summer. I took it in at the end of June to have them look at it. They told me and I quote......”the service tech said no water under the car is perfectly normal, so he didn’t bother to look. The AC charge was a bit low, so we topped it off, checked for leaks and found nothing. As for the smell, your cabin air filter wasn’t clipped in fully, so we did it. That should take care of the residual smell. It could take three days, three weeks or three months. If it’s that offensive to you, spray deodorizer down the vents and on the cabin air filter, but that could be very strong. But either way, you just have to wait it out.” This isn’t the first time I have had an issue with the service department either. I purchased this vehicle at the end of November in 2016. The second week of December the rear defroster wasn’t working. I took it in, they “looked” at it and said, “We tested it and it’s working to VW specs.” A week later we had another good frost and it still wasn’t working. So in it went again.......same response. I emailed the service manager with pictures of my rear window still completely frosted up after a 15-20 minute drive to work and two cycles of the rear defroster on. On December 22, I got a call telling me they were going to order me a replacement rear window. So trip #3 in January of 2017 to the service department in less than 2 months of ownership was to get the window replaced. I drove away thinking “great, it’s finally done.” I was wrong......the next morning, I went to work, and guess what? My rear defroster wasn’t working. So back in for trip #4 for the same issue. Still haven’t owned this for 2 months at this point.......this trip was the lucky one. It was discovered that when they replaced my rear window, the rear defroster connector wasn’t plugged in correctly.......so now after a year and a half of ownership I’m still dealing with issues on a car that just now has 50,000 kms on it, and less than 20,000 kms are from me. These guys just seem to brush you off if it’s warranty work, because they can’t overcharge you under warranty. What do you want to bet that if my issues were out of warranty and out of pocket cost, they would be resolved immediately?
Good friendly staff in the service department
Great parts department staff
i bought an 07 gti with the airbag lights on, did some research and found it a common problem caused by cheap wiring used for the airbags, which some people got repaired on recall.. called and spoke with the service supervisor, first he denied me because my vin was not part of the list for recall(my car was sold as a 07, but it was manufactured in september of 2006 and sold same month), then after 30 minutes of going back and forth trying to explain that if ones manufactured as early as a month after mine has recall then i don't see how mine couldn't have the same problem, so finally he accepted and asked for me to bring my car in so he can check it out, and told me if i have the exact same problem then he will help me out..... i go the and sure enough its as i said, so then when asked him to fix the problem he denies me.. and says if i want to fix it i have to pay for the repairs!! worst experience ever, don't trust a word they say, and honestly this was my first and very last vw, and would recommend you never buy one.. on a side note to everyone my uncle has a shop and the amount of vw they get in for wiring and sensor problems is unreal , i was advised not to get the gti but i had to learn the hard way! please learn from others mistakes and never buy from vw again until they change their service and make better cars, as of now there running a scheme just to make money by using crappy chinese wiring and sensor, made in germany my a**...
Very unpleasant visit with rude sales staff.
Great place to go. Lots of inventory and fantastic staff
I'm here almost on a monthly basis because my car isn't the most reliable. The repair service is pretty good. They always send you a video update on your car. My only heads up to people booking a service appointment is that the turn around time can be kinda long. (Upwards of two weeks)
Everything was great. Bought a car I wasn't intending to buy, but Stephen masterfully showed me why I should. The dealership was great, no messing around or game playing. They actually listened and gave me an awesome solution for my needs - not too much, not too little, just cool. Thanks.
They will rip you off, dont be fooled with the positive comments they are about sales, most people are happy to buy a car, not my case I toke my car there for a recall and they end up causing me more problems due to the lack of care and not putting back the part the proper way, they didn't even put most fasteners back and they claim they replace some parts that i am positive they didn't because i did undercoat my car myself and i can see the original parts are still there with the undercoating i dont on them. when i confront them they told me it was a billing mistake , no way they just tried to rip me off..... be aware and take picture of the parts that need to be replaced to make sure they actually replace them or you will be paying for nothing.
Rob in service goes above and beyond! Thanks again!
Very happy with the service here!
I made my first ever car purchase here this afternoon and I fully expect to come back when it comes time for my second. Steve was a fantastic car salesman the process was great from start to finish. They even sent me away with a full tank of gas (in a used vehicle!) Five stars for sure.
Super helpful parts department. Sam Turner put up with all my questions, offered solutions I hadn't thought of,
Awesome service. Danny, Anita and Travis all made the experience enjoyable and easy. I got great value for my previous vehicle and felt like they listened to all of my needs and concerns.
We were not well treated by Moncton VW. Therefore, we decided to offer our business with Steele VW. Everything was done over the phone and by email during the week. When we got there Saturday, we signed all paperwork and got our Jetta Wolfsburg on the roads in less than an hour. Great job Patricia and Patty.
We had a great experience at this dealership. Our Sales Consultant Jeff Grasley was respectful, courteous, responsive, and worked hard to find us a vehicle and a deal we were happy with. Would recommend this dealership and Jeff to anyone looking for a low stress, pressure free car buying experience.
Very pleased with the outcome. The staff was friendly, competent and professional. Our experience during the purchasing process exceeded expectations.
Friendly staff. Very helpful. All good. Thanks.
Long wait for shuttle. Confusion about winter tires.
Great team, great car great PRICE!
I was very pleased with the service I received at Steele. They took the time to discuss options with me and I felt the negotiating process was fair on both sides. Service and communication has been top notch, and I would recommend their services for anyone looking to purchase or service a vehicle.
I've been working at Steele VW for almost 8 years. Besides the great co-workers I have, I enjoy dealing with our customers; they are very connected to their vehicles and take a major interest in keeping their VW's properly maintained & running well!
I did not purchase my vehicle here so cannot comment on the sales staff but the service staff is excellent! I had to bring my car in for something under warranty. I dealt with Laura on the phone and in person and she was great! She set realistic expectations about time, etc. and they over delivered. It was fast and easy. Thanks Steele Volkswagen!
Good all around.
My father use to work for a Volkswagen dealership, so I already knew the pricing is fairly expensive... but I've driven Volkswagens since I can remember (as a kid in the back seat too) The process was super easy and they were super accommodating! I actually bought my 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan while I was still in Ontario! It was ready for pick up before I even arrived, we had set the appointment for pick up at 5pm but when I arrived at 330pm they had absolutely no problems with getting me ready to sign all the paperwork and hand over the keys!. Patti was so sweet, caring & very knowledgeable. When I buy a new car in the future, will most likely choose steele Volkswagen.
Great place to get service and new vehicles
Great Service, Great Dealership
Steele VW totally supports the community! It's a pleasure to be associated with them. :)
Very proud of all the staff here at Steele VW.
Just bought our second VW in the last 6 months. If you're looking for a fair deal and great vehicles check out this dealership. Highly recommend Wayne Cobb in Sales, professional, fair and no BS. Great buying experience.
Average service
Great experience. I was looked after very well.
They’re short with they’re customers. Was on the phone with a gentlemen, looking for information on a part. When I had mentioned a different place needs to know the specifics on a certain part, he had sighed and said “ugh, fine” I understand that they need business, but to bluntly make a big ordeal over a student not being able to afford a $600 PART and not including labor; is just bad customer service. Sorry buddy, but customer service should be friendly.
Good people, great customer service.
Purchased used from this dealership and could not have been more pleased with the service I received. Wayne and Travis were cheerful, able to explain my options clearly, and did not pressure. Thank you both - love my vehicle!!
Service was great people were friendly
Was looking to have a key I bought programmed and these crooks were going to charge 110$ plus tax ... I'm moving to montreal and Volkswagen Montreal only charged 60$ plus tax to do the same thing! They also tried to charge me 1000$ for the 60k tune up on my car when Kraft works in Sackville did it for 400$ and they even changed my spark plugs To. This dealer is definitely not honest when it comes to pricing . .
They fixed a brake on our golf and then told us 2 months later the same brake needed replacement. Nice try.
Superb service by Steven Qiang and Adam G. Recommended 100%. Thank you very much to the sales team and managers!
Freindly helpfully staff
To busy to do anything , id never buy a volkswagen here , if your volkswagen breaks you should rent a car because its going to a very long long time before they can even look at it ,or even juat an oil change ..... 2 weeks to a months bahahaha wow
Truly amazing experience. Purchased my 2nd vehicle today, a Tiguan and it won't be our last. The staff we're very friendly and easy to work. Definitely recommend them.
It was our first time purchasing through a dealership and the experience could not have been better. Wayne and Julie and all who assisted in guiding us through the process were amazing!
Great experience purchasing an Arteon from Steve.
Great staff
Friendly, easy to deal with.
Great Dealership, friendly faces!! Hunting for a GOLF, will def be back to visit in the Spring to upgrade! Calee was very knowledgeable!!!!
Horrible experience. When considering a new vehicle I had contacted them and was very close to a sale. I was given a trade value 1/6th of the black book value of the vehicle. When I inquired more I was told that if they could not profit off of my trade they were not interested. This was regarding the potential sale of a new vehicle. They were rude and told me “black book doesn’t buy vehicles.” The whole experience just felt greedy and hostile. Take your business to Oregan’s where you’ll at least be treated with respect.
Even in this difficult times due to covid pandemic, i was able to get an early schedule for my service. Always a smooth transaction with this guys. Great service as always.
Great dealership, lovely people!
I have been humming and hawing about a new Tiguan for about a year now. Steven Qiang has been my contact person (as he can contest from all my emails). Steven is hands down the best sales person I have ever dealt with. He is quick to respond to any and all of my questions – no matter how trivial they may have been and I can’t say enough about his patience! I have emailed him a few dozen times and have been to see him 3 or 4 times to talk about a new rig. I hope I didn’t come off as a “tire kicker” too bad with him. :-) And my experience with Patty Shaw was top notch. There were no surprises in the finances, all the paperwork was so quick and easy to understand and go through. Patty had me on my way in no time – even after we had to call my insurance agent – and we all know how painful that can be! Any who, I just wanted to share my very positive experience with Steele VW. I have been dealing with Steele VW for about 3 years now since we purchased our 2015 Jetta and I can’t ever see me going anywhere else for my car purchasing needs – and that says a lot seeing as how I am 200KM away in New Glasgow. Your staff is amazing! Always friendly – from the receptionist to the service counter and everyone in between! Thank you! Greg T
Super pleasant staff. Great waiting room.
These guys are a joke. Had my car in for a recalled ABS module. Pick it up and am told the electric power steering is now not working. Wanted to change a diagnosis fee plus what they “find”. Checked some VW forums, it was disabled because they disconnected the battery to replace the ABS moduale. It only needed to be reset with a simple steering wheel adjustment which I did on my street. Willing to let you drive in safely to make a buck. Straight crooks!!!
They gave me the coolant I needed. It was a great time
Awsome sales team, answered all question, pleasant experience.
