Efficient and good service.
The inside of the store looks old and falling apart and when we booked and picked up our car, they said it was just cleaned but it was still dirty inside! It was so gross! Also we got a Kia Optima for our rental car and it was awful! The wipers didn't wipe properly, the car made noises, couldn't handle the ice and lacked the space we needed - it was not maintained very well and made our road trip harder than it had to be! Definitely will not be going back here again!!
Kelowna airport Avis location staff were friendly and super helpful.
I can't rate the rental experience as I never got a car. Reserved one for when my flight arrived, and after waiting a half hour there was never anyone there. So I had to take a cab to the hotel and try the next morning. This cost me half a day of the work I was here to do. The next morning there still wasn't anyone there but I saw a sheet with my name on it behind the counter that said "No show" Are you kidding me? I had also tried to call ahead of my arrival but nobody ever picked up.
I choose this Avis location specifically every time I'm visiting from Germany. The gentlemen working here are helpful, the service is great. They make the process easy and stress-free - and every way to reduce stress on an overseas trip is welcome.

Waited 45 minutes for a car! In a preferred line up! Staff were very unprofessional and not helpful in any manner. There wasn’t a shortage of staff or cars just staff that was slow and in my opinion lazy. Couldn’t be bothered to serve anyone! Very sad and will not ever use or recommend this location again.
This was the third year in a row we hired a car from Avis Kelowna. We always book and pay in advance which we did this time. When we returned the car the lady asked me if I wanted the invoice and receipt by email and I said yes. A day later I noticed that just over $7 had been taken off my credit card. I called to ask what it was for, they couldn't tell me. They said head office would contact me, which they didn't. So I called back and was told, oh head office is going to refund the money but still couldn't tell me what it was for. No refund and I still haven't received any invoice/receipt. Yes its only $7.43 but it could have been any amount of money. I am going to have to put in a complaint to my credit card company to get a refund because they have no right just debiting my card without my permission, and especially without any justification for what it is for.

Worst customer service from a woman I have ever had to deal with. She denied renting a car to my son whose license was valid, ( we checked) then when we complained to her manager she said our card didn't work which was a complete lie. I don't know how people like this stay in business and not get sued. Don't ever use these people. They are inexperienced and their staff are liars. We have now spent over 1000 dollars because of Avis's mistake and ineptitude. Its vacation with my family you screwed up .. I demand justice!

All the car rental shops in Kelowna seem to have terrible reviews. It made me feel uneasy about renting a car anywhere here. It's like all the car companies are out to get each other, since all the bad reviewers only have 1-3 reviews under their belt. As a local guide, I'm giving you a real review. I booked this specific Avis through the Costco travel website during one of the busiest weekends in Kelowna (July 27-29). I was in a rush, and the service was very fast. Costco gives their customers a free extra driver too, so that's nice. Avis also gave me a free upgrade to an Impala without me asking for it (thanks btw!). Everyone from the lady checking me in - to the guy in the parking lot which helped screen for scratches was very nice. The car was spotless, tank full, and the car was as clean as a brand new car. It had low kms on it (5600). Checkout was fast. I was only charged for the exact amount on my Costco quote. I just needed to park the car in one of their many spots, and drop off the keys. The walk from the lot to airport was less than 5mins. Honestly, this was the best overall car rental experience I've ever had. I hope this more constructive review helps others decide on where to pick from in the future. Especially if you've never booked via Costco Travel, try it. I noticed their rates are much lower than any other site.
Will not rent from here again. Needed a car for work purposes, found car online paid for it in full. Went to pick up and asociate proceeded to tell me he was holding $350.00 on my credit card for a one day rental. Ludicrous I have rented a vehicle 5 different times in the last 5 months and never had that much held on my credit card for longer term rentals. Asked him to explain why he couldn't even answer that. Coverage was, also going to be $30 for basic with a $300 deductible or $45 without a deductable. Customer service non-existent. Didn't give them a single dime cancelled on the spot, went elsewhere. Which I would be more than happy to recommend to anyone. Don't bother replying to me to contact your 1-800 number either I'm not interested.
Sandy at Avis Kelowna was a legend, quickly helped us sort out & exchange the rental car we had been using after the electrics went crazy. We forgot something in our original rental & she retrieved it for us immediately & had it waiting for when we went back less than an hour later. Above & beyond, thank you!!!
I guess Avis is good if you don't have any problems. Our car stopped in the middle of the road and 1 day later we haven't get a replace yet! we had to figure things out by ourselves after many calls and promises but we still waiting for help.

The vehicle we got wasnt what we booked. Sounds like there is a leakage somewhere as I can smell gas around the vehicle. There is a noise coming from back while breaking. Overall, it seems no inspection has done on this car, so if you choose this company, make sure you inspect the car entirely cause when you call back for reporting the issues, they will apologize for their unsafe unreliable service and suggest you drive all the way back to airport to switch the car!

At the Avis in Calgary, they gave us a car with a leaky tire. We went to Jasper with the bad car and the Jasper Avis exchanged it for a nicer car for no extra charge. We were pleased.

This message is to exemplify Sandy from Avis Rent-a-Car at Kelowna International Airport. She saved our family when we were in dire need of a last minute vehicle rental (when one of Avis’ competitors in Vernon, BC completely dropped the ball on our reservation!) Without Sandy, we do not know what might have befallen us. She went out of her way to find a mini-van we could use, and even returned to the office after hours when we could arrive from Vernon to rent the vehicle. This was all very last minute, and she found a solution so swiftly and seemingly effortlessly which allowed us to focus on our family and proceeding with our move. Thank-you Thank-you Sandy!

Rented a car to go to BC over the weekend. Got the keys from the agent who then sent me to check out the car and upon inspection saw that the tires appeared to be all seasons instead of winter tires. Went back to the Avis kiosk which by then was locked and the agent gone.I then had to call the cellphone number that was posted outside and got the agent who confirmed that all of their cars have on winter tires. Got to BC to find out the hard way that they were in fact all seasons on the rental. Lost a customer.

I am Canadian and recently rented a car from the UK location at Heathrow airport. I pre-paid the amount to save $30 (big mistake!). After returning to Canada my credit card was charged with an extra $350 (on top of the $425 already prepaid). I called Avis, they said they would have an answer in 7-10 days. I called again in 7 days, this time a different agent; I had to go through the whole story again - they will check again but it would take 14-15 days! 15 days later I called a third time, got the same response and was told it would take a month to fix! I asked for a supervisor... went through the whole story yet again and was told.that they were sorry but the first two agents did not forward the complaint to the 'International desk', she assured me that this was now done and a response would take 5 to 57 days! Finally, 5 weeks after returning the car and much frustration, I got a $160 refund, not the $350 I was overcharged, but I was told the difference was for an additional driver fee (which should have been covered by the credit card used). I gave up! So be warned, don't pre-pay or even better, don't use Avis/Budget!!

TERRIBLE customer service.... we rented a brand new vehicle for a day and didn’t get the extra insurance. The transmission blew and the vehicle had to be towed for $650 back to Kelowna. Avis was going to charge us for the damage and the tow. Finally the manager agreed we shouldn’t have to pay. However weeks later we discovered the paperwork was filed wrong and we had charges from Avis on our credit card. It was a nightmare dealing with them throughout this entire process. I would highly recommend using a different company to rent a vehicle.
I reserved a specific make/model for the week and they gave me a different one altogether. The one they gave me was a dud. It kept auto dialling on-star road assist and was a horrible ride. When I called to sort it out, they were not easy to get ahold of. Their hours of operation are inconvenient and no one ever seems to answer the phone. Never again.
Was quick and easy right after a 2 hour delayed flight then I needed to do a 3 hour drive they got me in and out. Great staff friendly and informative of the road conditions aswell.
At first rental went smoothly and I was impressed HOWEVER after realizing that they had accidentally double charged me for my rental I realized how utterly appalling their customer service is, infact I’m not sure now if Avis even has employees working in their customer service department. After sending 3 emails of which not one single email was even acknowledged, attempting to call Avis at the airport I rented from who apparently are never open I’m beyond angry AND I’ve now had extra charges on my credit card for 4 months building interest that I’m going to be expected to pay. Will not be using Avis again and will definitely not be recommending to anyone.
Staff do not know how to follow covid 19 protocols regarding other provinces license. They refuse to ask others for help or to speak to their support team. I had a valid license and prepaid almost a thousand dollars. For them to claim my license was invalid without any checks validation or reach out to a manager or contact to other team members cost me hundreds of dollars and having to drive back 6 hours to return q vehical because of a customer service reps refuse to ask for help when she was in the wrong. For anyone traveling from out of province I suggest avoiding avis or looking for compensation if this has happend to you as well. The manager lied and stated the rcmpnwould not accept my license yet when I made a personal call the denied what the avis manager claimed and told me that yes my license is valid. Enterprise took my license and rented me a car no problem.the owner of this avis should reach out to me immediately as this will be escalated to corporate for refusal of service
We dropped the car with 14 liters less than a full tank. They charged us by over $4 dollars per liter (this includes the tax) when the regular gas price was about $1.35.
If I could give this place 100 stars I would. Vehicles on point, clean, low KMs and great prices. New models with all the sizes of vehicles..The staff is super friendly and upfront with you. No hidden fees. Highly recommended.

One star because zero wasn't an option. Rented a car with my family including dog which I have done dozens of times and had no issues. But with Avis I returned the car early in perfect shape, full of gas, even though it was not full on pick up. At drop off had the lady quickly look over it before I dropped the keys in the box. Only to wake up to an email saying I'm being charged almost double for dog fur. In the rental agreement there is NO pet policy and does not mention it anywhere. Not sure how you own a car rental company without a vacuum or the ability to get very small amounts of dog hair out (see pictures attached). When I emailed them she suggested I buy car seat covers or a blanket. Not only ridiculous but impossible due to quarantine in this case. So I had to call and see if we could come to some sort of understanding. Boy was I wrong, the lady I talked to (lets just call her Karen) was very rude and abrasive. How or why she is working in any business dealing with people is a mystery to me. In short don't rent with avis.

rented a car here while I was on vacation in St. Albert for Christmas. While the vehicle was clean and in good shape the customer service was beyond horrible. When we came to pick up the car the person was in the back and did not come to the front, after waiting 10 minutes. I went back to notify her that I was there. She said that she was busy cleaning a car and would be out front when she was done. When I said I didn't want to wait she finally came out front, but was very curt and unfriendly. When we returned the car the experience was identical to pick up, but there was an additional customer in line who was told to wait as well. When our paperwork was completed we had to ask twice what the cost was. Next time we are in town we will not use this rental location and recommend that anyone else who is thinking about renting here to go somewhere else. UPDATE 1.1.2018 The company said to call a call center to address the issue. I called the number, and was on hold for 1/2 and hour and then the system disconnected me. They really don't care.

First time car renter... Didnt know much about it ( extra coverages needed and apparently I didn't have my plan as in order as I thought). I booked a vehicle for a quick trip to Vancouver from kelowna but as it was in November I didn't realize the car I had booked online didn't not have snow rated tires on it. Thank goodness Sandy at avis noticed my booking online before I arrived and promptly called me to tell me if I was driving the Hwy to Vancouver I would need snow rated tires ( which is true, but a very important detail I missed). That would have been a bad experience not only illegal but dangerous!!! So she upgraded us to a better vehicle ( all wheel drive SUV) rather then a regular mantra.. She made sure the SUV had snow rated tires. She did this within minutes to make sure we had a booking.. Incredibly grateful!!!! But the customer service did not stop there that was only the beginning of her help during our 24 HR rental. We went to Vancouver to purchase a vehicle and had pre booked the "one way drop off" which meant we could purchase the vehicle we drove down for and drop the rental off only a few kms away from the car we were planning to purchase. Well to keep long story short.. The car that was advertised was not at all what it had seemed double the kms then states and we had previously talked to them about a price and when we got there it was a completely different story! And not only that but the vehicle was sitting out front as we had made an appointment to come look at it and it hadn't even been cleaned it was beyond disgusting! The whole plan fell through they weren't willing to work with my budget as they had agreed to prior me comming down plus they wanted extra couple thousand for winter tires etc. It all just started adding up to a lot of unexpected expenses and mess we had not be aware of when we spoke the day before. So we decided to pass.. Which meant that we had to call Sandy at avis AGAIN and hope that we were able to drive the rental back or we were screwed! She made it work and said just come back as the weather started getting worse by the minute. I cannot thank her enough for her assistance... answering the phone every single time and right away.. Knowing me by name..atleast she was able to make the trip a lot less stressful then it was and I am so grateful!!! This girl has amazing customer service , when I'm ready to rent another car again I will no doubt be going back there as long as Sandy is there. The feeling of having that extra peace of mind of being able to call if need be was a huge help. THANK YOU SANDY!!!!
Excellent and courteous service. I arrived late via VIA rail but notified them beforehand when I was in Edmonton and they assured me that my reservation will still be there for me when I get there. It's a small office and there was quite the line but as soon as I was serviced, it was fast and easy. The vehicle was extremely clean and a great deal for the price I paid! I would recommend AVIS at Jasper for any travellers wanting luxury with a budget. Shop smart and prepay your reservation to save time and hassle. Search online for discount codes.
Head a good experience here with or car rental. We got a great car for our Rockies Canadian trip for 10 days duration. The car is a dream to drive - Ford Escape Titanium 2017.
I had booked my car a month in advance. When I arrived they told me they over booked and moved my rental to budget. Budget was over 500 dollars more for the 5 day rental. I was told I was supposed to get the difference in price back and it’s almost been a month now with no money. Terrible business and the staff know nothing. Will never use Avis again. Contacting customer service is hell. I wrote a email with a complaint asking how I would even get my money back and zero response in weeks.

We rented a car from July 15 to 19, 2021 We dropped the keys at the Avis counter. They did not do a walk about to check for damage to the car. When we got home I had a message saying there was damage to the car. (a scratch) and to get in touch with them. That is next to impossible. I've called many times and they don't answer the phone. I don't know what to do next. Any ideas?
Our flight into Kelowna was delayed and the Budget rental desk closed at 10pm sharp and so even though we had a reservation we could not pick up our vehicle. Luckily for us the very helpful Avis counter was open waiting for their customers on the same delayed flight. Not only did the Avis agent, Sandy, find us a vehicle to rent but even changed it when we couldn't fit our skis in the first one we tried. Sandy was patient and really showed what customer service is! Way to go and huge thank you to Avis and especially Sandy.

It's hard to really put in words how pathetic Avis car rentals at the Timmins Airport is. Everybody has read a review and wonders exactly how true it is and whether or not the reviewer is just lashing out due to a small setback that is actually just human error and a reality of life. In this case however the story must be told, and it goes like this. My girlfriend got word that her grandfather was in dire straits and family was rapidly gathering to see him. She booked a car to be rented so she could make the 2 hour journey after her flight. She unfortunately forgot her credit card in Toronto while packing in haste. Upon arriving, the employee was given confirmation number and the validation on her cell phone that proved her rental, and to boot she recited the exact credit card number. He refused to help her at all despite every single bit of data from her that would prove her reservation, and was unbelievably rude throughout the entire process. This was at 10 pm, with the sign saying open till 1 am. He then physically shut down (with zero assistance or help) the kiosk by sliding the shutters down, with a fairly distraught girl standing there with no place to go in a small town. Things are beyond employees control as we all know and they must abide by protocol.... However a bit of humanity is allowed if not encouraged by any modern day employer/company. In this scenario he offered ZERO help, ZERO explanation and discretion and closed down the location 3 hours prior to its advertised closing time. Management when called was dispicably aloof and useless, reading off a cue card and bumbling their way throughout the conversation. Companies can't be perfect and will make mistakes but this was a F-up of the grandest proportions with zero apology and it's sad to see that happen. Hopefully Avis sees some competition in Timmins in the years to come.
Choosing a rental company at the Kelowna airport was tough based on the online reviews. I chose Avis based on price as they were the most economical, throughout my whole experience with Avis my expectations were exceeded which rarely happens with me. There was zero line up when I went to get my car, the front end staff was so friendly, I had my car in under 5 minutes. Returning the car was quick and again the staff was super to deal with. When I got home later that day I realized I left my sunglasses in the car. I called in that night and they checked the car and found my sunnies, they sent them fedex the next day and I got the glasses in perfect condition the very next day. Thank you to the staff at Avis, I will definitely be back and will recommend Avis to all my wedding guests coming in July!

Beware of unauthorized and unjustified additional charges. Rented vehicle from this location in mid-September 2019. They first tried to charge me for an extra driver when I picked up the vehicle even though the agreement I had, showed that the extra driver was included. After some discussion and a phone call, they corrected that. I drove the vehicle 143 KM's. Since my flight was leaving really early in the morning I filled up the vehicle the evening before with 16.859 L and then put on minimum KM's after that. According to the manufacturer website this amount of fuel would be good for 179 highway KM's (which was what I drove most of) or 143 combined KM's. The gas gauge read full when I dropped the vehicle off. Since the counter was not open. I dropped the keys in the drop box. When I saw the charge come through on my credit card I noticed that it was $84.63 higher than what my contract said. When I got a copy of the bill it was for a Fuel Service charge (including concession fee and GST). It said that the vehicle was returned 7/8's full. Despite phoning them twice and sending an email, I have been unable to get the charges reversed. One employee did tell me that the manager is usually pretty good about reversing these charges, which leads me to think that it is a common practice by this manager to add the charge to see what will stick. I have rented vehicles many times over the years and this is the first time this has happened to me.
I wouldn’t even give 1 star if i wasn’t forced to in order to leave a review. I would NEVER rent from here. I rented a car from the Enterprise (online) prior to arrival at Timmins airport. Enterprise and National share the counter next to AVIS. When I arrived there was no attendant at Enterprise so I asked the lady working at AVIS “how do I get my car when nobody is working at the counter”. She had the most miserable scowl on her face and all she did was shrug her shoulders and look away. Incredibly rude and clearly hates her job. She paints a very poor picture of AVIS. The last place I would want this woman is representing my company! This was approximately 3:30pm on Wednesday October 21, 2020.
Wish I could give them zero! Absolutely terrible customer service. Reserved a vehicle for 3 days. $173.00 dollars Couple of days later I had my wallet stolen. Called customer service. I asked if I could use a debit card. Told no. I asked if I could just use my wife's credit card. Told me no and there would be a $50.00 cancellation fee. Are you kidding! My wife had to make another reservation. This time $225.00 for the rental. Same vehicle. THEN...got an email back for my cancellation. They are going to now charge me a $150.00 cancellation fee!!!!! FOR THE SAME VEHICLE! The reviews are right. Stay away from Avis. You have been warned!

Disgusting customer service, got a car which was deemed safe, but with very little tred left on the tyres, forcing the car to skid and slide. Naturally as one would expect we complained straight away, only to be fobbed off and our requests falling on deaf ears. This could have been a potential accident and the danger of having a car unfit for the road didn't even phase the manager on duty, who was dismissive, unapologetic and unsympathetic. Nothing but excuses and the poorest level of customer service I've witnessed. I am truly disappointed with Avis and will never be using thier services again.
Do not use Avis at the Timmins Airport. They charged me over $333 for a 2 day mid-sized car rental by sneaking in a lot of daily charges that I did not request. Charges such as $33 roadside assistance, $36 personal effects protection, $29 concession fee (whatever that means), $30 fuel refill fee.
Kelowna was an absolutely amazing town... but i would avoid the AVIS airport car rental. My boyfriend rented a car from them, told them about our late flight arrival, AND CALLED THEM PERSONALLY to verify someone would be waiting for us.... After 12 hours of traveling, there was no one at the Avis stand. BOTH budget and enterprise were still opened and helping other customers. No other vehicles were available from the other venders, so we took a $50 cab ride to our hotel. The following morning, our hotel reported that Budget would have driven a car directly to out hotel, but when calling Avis, they required we pay for ANOTHER ride BACK to the airport (what a waste of valuable travel time). When we arrived to the airport, the adolescent working behind the counter said "sorry, i left early because I had to open this morning" EVEN though he KNEW we were coming and had out flight information. He acted like there was no fault in his behavior which was very irritating. THEN he charged us for the extra day of car rental and told us to take up getting refunded for the day we didn't have the car when we returned the car (no help from him). ok, ok, enough complaining, when returning the vehicle, the woman behind the counter was very polite and attempted to refund us partially for (about 40% of what the cabs costed) and said her manager would try to do the rest when they arrived (it was 1000 in the morning, I have no idea where this infamous manager ever was. Nonetheless, I have never experienced such a horrible experience and felt so disrespected by a simple company. We called ahead and got verbal confirmation they Avis would be there... to make things worse... BOTH of the other car rental companies were open and had additional services. Sadly, I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. I don't write many bad reviews, but this one had to be written.
Just wanted to highlight some of the reasons why my experience with Kelowna Avis was so great and why I would absolutely recommend: - Sandy (at Kelowna Airport) was awesome and she saved me at least a couple of hundred dollars by telling me about booking online in advance. - When my travel plans got all messed up Sandy was there to assist immediately with suggestions and helped me out to find more info with the airline and airport staff (which she didn't have to do but did anyway) - When I had to cancel my booking because of flight cancellations Sandy helped me with all the details I needed to process a full refund. I couldn't recommend this location more. I was really happy with the service which is so important these days. I would book here again.
Tried calling 3 times to reserve yesterday, no answer... Now unbelievable, been waiting 45 minutes at the counter, nobody is here during opening hours, calls go unanswered, would have already brought the wireless phone with him or fwd calls to a cell?? Unprofessional to say the least. When a plane lands on time you would think they would want to be at the desk a few minutes to see... will probably write another bad review in another 45 minutes of waiting.
**THIS REVIEW IS FROM MY HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE WITH AVIS ON HWY 97 KELOWNA** wow where do i even begin with this sad exuse of a rental buisness. Well frst off i called and wanted an suv vehicle for 3 days , ok no problem, go there, get the suv (dodge durango) , and was told when booking if i booked for a week i get a better rate of 456$ and with tax would be 534$. a week later i go to return it, and low and behold that is not the price they quoted me! He wanted an extra 200$$!!! 700$ for a week?? as this was the same manager that had booked it at the beginning i proceeded to tell him and show him my quote he had provided me for 530$, and he procedes to tell me "i dont know i dont know" . i had my cash placed on the counter 700$, and as he was trying to figure out why its more than i was quoted, HE TAKES A 50$ BILL AND WALKS AWAY. When he comes back he tells me there is nothing he can do and i have to pay the 656$. ok so i pay it and leave very angry as i have been lied to. As i am driving away , the guy comes out and taps on my vehicle as i am moving, and i rool down the window and he proceseds to tell me THAT I AM 50$ SHORT!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told him you grabbed a 50 and walked away so thats on you that it isnt there i gave you 700$!! Well that doesnt matter he proceedes to harrase me until i give him ANOTHER 50$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO IN THE END I PAID 750$ FOR A RENTAL I WAS QUOTED 530$ FOR!! And having my quote that was provided didnt matter to this guy. All in all i rented to save money on a flight, boy did i learn my lesson. I WILL NEVER RENT WITH THESE UNPROFFESSIONAL THIEVING GOOFS AGAIN!!!!!!!!! and i suggest you dont either. no wonder there are almost out of buisness .

If I could give 0 stars I would. The worse customer service EVER! I am not one to raise my voice at people but man is this company a waste of time. First there were so many hidden fees, we were expecting to be paying $200 for a little car for 5 days, we knew that with taxes and insurance it would be closer to $400 But when we got there we had to pay $615 for a SMALL CAR FOR 5 DAYS. They had a $125 fee for my girlfriend to drive as shes under 25 but we told the company she wouldnt be driving anf they said she still would have to pay it anyways even though I am 25 and would be driving. Secondly we had to rent a car seat for our 6 month old and were charged $65 for that, then a guy brings if out to the car before we got there and there's no one to ask how to install it as well as there's no instruction manual for it so we had no idea if our baby was securely in his carseat. Thirdly the car seat they gave us was so old and the sticker that shows the expiration date was torn off which is ILLEGAL. Basically the worse rental company ever and the worse staff ever. The manager and young girl working behind the counter were incredibly rude and could have cared less about helping us. Avoid this place. I wouldn't have wrote a review if we hadn't encountered such an awful experience

This is absolutely the worst place to rent a car from. I rented a car on Oct 17 and returned it on Oct 18 and boarded my flight. 1 week later I get a bill charge of $69.69. After 10 calls and 5 messages to the airport directly , I finally manage to speak to someone. I explained I returned the car on the 18 and they try to tell me no I didn't , it was returned the day later. I explained that I have proof I boarded the plane on the 18th and left. After 3 weeks of back and forth they claim , there are discrepancies and would not return my money . what discrepancies could there possibly be? I have a boarding pass and picked my car up from park and fly in Vancouver thon the 18th. . This airport has key drop boxes in the parking lot which make it convenient to return the car. It is the employee's responsibility DAILY before leaving every night to retrieve the keys from the drop box and sign the cars in. NOT MY JOB. I am applaud at what I have had to go through over the past month to get my money back and will now have to continue to fight. I give this place and AVIS customer service a huge ZERO.

Worst customer service, I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my whole life. We got a flat tire, no spare in the back after an employee failed to do a check with us. Roadside assistance said it would take 1 hour to bring us a new vehicle, it took over 6- at no point did Avis contact us to update us on the increased length of delivery, we had to call them multiple times. After, to inquire about this situation I was told I had to drive all the way back to the pickup location (the phone number on google was out of service). Once I arrived the manager was cold and useless, did not apologize in the slightest. Will never be renting with Avis again.
I always use Avis for rental cars in the US, however it was Labor Day weekend and the rates were high, and other Car Rental places at Kelowna airport had attractive lower rates. I was going to book elsewhere but after reading reviews for other companies, it seemed that Avis was still the safer and better option to go with. Other reviews I read for other companies were for extra charges so I was still cautious with this rental. However, I have returned my car, received my final bill and am very happy with the whole experience at this location. My rental was for a week and I had a nice SUV. No extra surprise charges. Sandhika assisted with keys pick up and keys drop off. She was helpful, pleasant and efficient. I will not look elsewhere when I return to this location.
Excellent customer service rep at Kelowna Airport. She was awesome. Rented a portable GPS/Garmin. It wasn't current. Couldn't find our first and most important address. It was new and not in the GPS system.
Have been renting from the Kelowna Airport location for the past 3 plus years. often multiple vehicles and on short notice. Evan when busy, Sandhi and her people have always helped me with my requirements and offered a high level of flexibility and professionalism . The service is top notch!

This branch is trying to charge me for a ticket the car received almost five hours after I returned the car and three hours after Avis processed the return. Even after bringing this to their attention, they haven't responded to me. This is a shady, fly-by-night operation that only gets by because it is affiliated with a reputable multi-national brand. If Avis knew the business practices of this branch they would be aghast. A quick search will reveal that they routinely cancel reservations and dont maintain their posted hours. The people that have their reservation canceled are the lucky ones, however. If you are unlucky enough to actually get a car, then prepare to be scammed big time
Worst experience with a car rental agency I've had. I even gave them another chance after they gave away our rental car because we hadn't "pre-paid for it", and we got just what we should have expected: They over-charged us then gave us the run-around for more than a month and never did give us our money back. I highly recommend going to the competition (Hertz or National). They include much of the same features for about an extra $10, but at least that's actually all you'll pay - no surprise charges, unlike Avis.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Rented a car in June 2019. Spoke with Reet (employee) on three occasions: once by phone, pick up and drop off. Unable to answer any questions about car/rental and at times did not make any sense. Will book elsewhere next time. Very poor customer service.

I have been renting cars from Avis at the airport the past few years and could not be happier! Sandy and her team are friendly, efficient and very customer oriented. They're excellent about upgrading whenever they can and noting which stall to find the car. When the odd mistake with the rate happens, it is promptly rectified. If the staff member does not have the authority to do so, they are very good about leaving the account open for Sandy to review....then I promptly get the revised info by e-mail! Yesterday, when I was busy loading up my rental with luggage, one of their team member (Steve), quietly came over and started scraping the frost off the windshield! Now, that's what you call service. Keep it up Avis!!!
Avis is the worst rental place there is. Their Customer Service is absolutely terrible and the prices are higher than the rest of the services. I've been their Preferred member and when I called to change my residency I had their customer rep hang up the phone on me because she didn't know how to fix the issue. Start hiring competent staff...
We went on a 4 day golf trip in September and rented through Avis. Everything was great until we receved our invoice a few days later. They charged us for an extra day for the rental. I called the girl at the front desk and she said to email my bording pass and the gas receipt and that it would be looked after. I sent the information that she requested, thought that would be the end of it and I would receive a credit. Two days later I get an email back basically telling me that I'm a liar and the information I sent (gas receipt) was not mine and that they wouldn't be refunding me for the additional day. NEVER drop your keys in the Avis bin at the airport. Always take the extra time to walk down to the kiosk and personally hand in your keys. I wont be renting through them again and neither will my company.
Our vehicle broke down stranding us in a small town.Avis Car Rental in Jasper delivered a vehicle right to us, which no other company would do. They gave us the best rate, and we were stress free the rest of our holiday. We highly recommend them as they went the extra mile and treated us as family. Without their assistance we would have missed our daughter’s wedding. Thank you Avis Car Rental Jasper for a happy ending!!????
Best rental service in town! Cheapest rentals as well. I got the Grand Cherokee and it was fully loaded brand new. Staff are very accommodating with any requests!
I will never again waste my time with this company. I needed a car as my only vehicle was going into the shop for repairs for 2 days. found one for what I thought was a pretty good deal on the Avis website. when I showed up to pick up the car I was told by a very rude Avis worker that I may have paid for the car online but they need to take a $500 dollar deposit hold on my credit card. I asked why so high a deposit but he gave no answer, only told me that it says that in the rental agreement, which he provided me but says nothing about holding $500 dollars deposit. I will be sharing my horrible experience about Avis to family and friends as I would not like for anyone to have to deal with such unprofessional way of doing things. I contacted another rental company that took my business and with way less of a deposit without hearing my story. ,After I rented the car I Told the company rep what happened to me with Avis and they were appalled. DO BETTER AVIS!!!!!

I rented a vehicle to go the airport through their reservation system, the person on the phone told me no problem and the car will be available the next day. Pickup time comes, the branch is closed and there is NO ONE to talk to or any local contact. The «local number» takes you to a call center somewhere in the US, where after 3 hours of nightmaresque customer service ordeals, where people don't even have a clue where Jasper is or what country I'm even calling from... they told me to drive to Calgary as it was the closest open location (and also my destination!)... eventually, I had no resolution. Eventually after many hours too late, the branch manager called me to «take care of me»... after leaving me hanging, disrupt my travel logistics and make me lose thousands of dollars, hours of time and go through the worst possible customer service experience.... I got a 50$ discount on a rental a couple days later. I'm sorry, but the good old Covid excuse is just unacceptable by now, after 2 months living under Covid restrictions, every single business I've had to deal with has come up with a somewhat reliable system. If you want to declare yourself and essential transportation service to keep operating, make sure you can deliver on your promises. And as a client, if you ever end up having to call Avis's customer service... good luck, better start calling another rental company on the side... In the other hand, another well known car rental company in town has actual local contacts, a real person, right here in Jasper to help you out and make you welcomed and appreciated. I'm done with Avis. Had to give it 1 star just because 0 wasn't an option.
Have been renting from Sandy and the team for over 3.5 years and without a doubt one of the best car rental services I have encountered in BC. Do not even bother with others at YLW like Hertz who are terrible. Always polite, friendly and helpful to answer questions and even on occassion when you forget your ipad in the car, they ensure its quickly transported to security for you :)
I wish there was a zero star option. Absolute thieves, just urging no one makes the mistake of using them thinking that they’re a budget company because you will get stung in the end and it will hurt!
Family arrived at Timmins airport with a reservation for a car. Advertised hours of operation were open until 1:00 am. Not to so as they were stranded at the airport with no assistance from the rental company customer service.
