Had a bad experience with Paul over a safety being done without the work being done to get a safety.. I bought a car took it to him to find out what it needed for a safety !! He did a safety without my permission and of course the car would fail. I already knew it needed work. Had to pay for the work that was done and a safety i did not ask for.. I was not getting the safety done there, just the work. Cheaper places in town to get a safety done. Auto pits it went too. Love them and their prices. Not looking to gain a buck. They are honest and very cheap. Fantastic work. I believe Finlayson tire owner' Paul we some how misunderstood one another perhaps, either way was not happy how it all went down. I didn't even need all the work they said to get a safety done. Saved 500.00 bucks taking it to Auto pits.. Js. Many years ago like 20, we had very good experiences with this company just not as off late. They are good at their work, i guess. That day... Bad vibes in the air..

I had 2 sets of tires installed here for my BMWs. They did a nice job and didn't cause any damage to the wheels as many other shops often do. Even installed chrome valve stems.

I got really badly ripped off here. I paid for a used tire and didn’t get to see it until it was on the car. What they put was a really cracked old tire with low tread. It was so unsafe I had to go directly to another tire shop to buy a new tire. Big waste of time and money, what I got was worse than nothing and the service was aggressive and unfriendly. Avoid at all costs

When you take your car for an oil change and a $1275 brake repair is suggested (caliper stuck/replace calipers,rotors&pads) OEM parts....it raises suspicion at 45,000 km. We asked for a quote on lower priced parts (before starting the job). An hour later (lower price), we told him another shop was more competitive and better warranty on parts. Then a call to inform us calipers could be reused so $450 final bill. Decided to take to other shop. Paul told us, it would cost 1hr labour (if he could get it back together job was in process). $205 for an oil change and labour for an assessment just cost Finlayson 2 customers. I wonder if it is worth it?

The mechanic was very rude, didn't even return the greeting " Good Morning ". Looked like he was not interested in doing any work. I paid $ 54 for a punture fix and it took them 1 hour. When I went to ask if it's ready, he was rude and said needs 10 minutes to write up a bill. Would never go back to them.

Called in and asked for some tires and this disgruntled older man stated he had 2 sets of tires , but he doesn't know the brand and sounded really annoyed, apparently I am not the only one. You lost a customer for sure here...Must have woke him up, cause he sure didn't sound happy. No referrals going here

Updated Oct 5 2018 for clarification. I will try them for a quote on winter tires next week. I'll update my review accordingly. I've bought tires and wheels from them and they were fine but the attitude of the owner doesn't inspire confidence. This was 2010. More recent 2018: I was going to get an item welded, I'm also looking for new wheels and tires and he just doesn't inspire confidence, so I've decided on any other place. The prices are average and I want to support a local shop but the personality, it just turns me off this place. Bertie Tire in Stevensville and Niagara Battery and Tire in Niagara Falls, Welland and St Catharines would be my first suggestions. The customer service at any one of those other shops is dramatically better and personable. Sorry. Just honest and sorry I can't recommend this place. I honestly wish I could. Eight years later and I've bought at least 30 full sets of tires and wheels for 8 cars, track wheels/tires, summer wheels/tires, winter wheels/tires, show car specific wheels/tires and more.

Went for a spring tire change. Charged $ 50 to change tire on rims. The guy changed the wheel nuts for another $60. without asking me ( I had the spare nuts for the wheel). and ended up paying around $125 for a tire change on rims. Partly my mistake, should have asked for a quote before hand. Lesson learnt.

Just called the Gilmore Rd location and was met with attitude right away on the phone and a large sigh after simply calling for a quote.. sorry to burden you guy answering the phone... not a great way to gain a new client. I ended up going with another company. This was at 10:38am thursday morning.

Wouldn’t come here again. No masks being worn, terrible customer service. Why say I have a one year warranty if you’re going to charge to check the issues with your work? Do better. 1 star and I’ll stick with Canadian Tire who actually stands behind the job they do.

Rude disengenous service to say the least!!! I had an appointment to have my exhaust system tested for possible servicing. Greeted with a rather ill-mannered attitude by the OWNER of this service station! Negative vide right from the start! That said, I drove all the way from the Falls based on a supposed reputation about this station. However, what I was in store for makes me question the positive reviews about the place or “planted” fabricated reviews! That’s because, as I handed over my keys to my car to the owner, I watched from inside the service area as the owner became very angry and frustrated as he noticed my car alarm automatically is set when the car is locked. Noticed he opened the driver side with the key instead of the remote. As the door opened, the alarm was enabled! As the driver side door was open he agressively SLAMMED the driver door with force as the car shook!!!!!! Another customer and I witnessed this from inside the shop. I went outside and asked the owner WHY he slammed the driver door shut? He was silent and non apologetic whatsoever!!! I said I’m leaving you don’t treat customers like that! He was in total denial!!!! Would you trust someone like this owner with apparent anger issues to work on your car????!!! I called the police to file a report because my window of my driver side on my convertible is loose and wind noise as I drove on the highway! Stay clear of this place because you won’t know what treatment your car will incure! I’m glad I was able to witness this incredible abusive act to ones car right in front of my eyes! Unfortunately, reputation this service place had in the beginning and incarnation years ago has been turned over to a very disrespectful person who has no class and no consideration for other property not belonging to them! Fair warning people of the highest regard!!!!!!⚠️

Would not recommend. When I registered for my car that I left with these guys, I had the owner of my car write the 3 non-mechinal issues with the car on the registration form at the DMV. (I misplaced my registration form for that vehicle, but the same copy is at Service Ontario) Then, when I called this shop after I left my car at this shop for 2 weeks, the guy in charge put on the list of issues 7-8 mechanical issues. I could add more, but I'll let you choose what you do with this information.

Had a tire pressure sensor installed which cost $40, which was fine, but sensor had to be programmed and cost me an additional $40. Not cool!

I would never use this company again. I bought a pickup truck from this guy. I had all kinds of problems. They work with tires NOT selling cars. I paid $8500.00. Scraped it for $500.00. Do NOT use these people.

I brought my Infiniti to this place and they took the job for a water pump because my car was overheating. Months later they couldn’t figure out what is happening to my car my ecu ended up shorting and the owner tells me to me face “we don’t know how to fix these cars” and they sent my car to the Nissan dealership

Stay away, Charged $117 and quoted $500 to pass a safety. I was told I would be contacted about parts but didn't hear a word. Proceeded to take the car elsewhere, $300 later my car is fixed and safetied the same day (with an oil change). Needless to say they will take advantage of you and waste your time, business is better off elsewhere!
