I was just here not even an hour ago. I usually go to Callingwood registry, never had any bad experience with them but I thought I should try this one as it’s closer to my house. Service was fast. Not that it matters for a registry place but this one is clean. Staff who helped me could have been friendlier. She was an older lady. Didn’t bother to look at her name with all the sighing and cold demeanour. I guess cracking even a tiny smile takes too much for others nowadays. But then again it’s a customer service based establishment friendliness is still important. Cold but efficient service though.

I have been to this location few times including today. There is an extremely rude lady. She is not fit for any customer service positions. I will be going to the Callingwood registry next time because of her even though it’s far from my house. I went there to apply for an Id and a health card for my husband. she said very rudely my husband have to have a letter under his name to prove the address otherwise she won’t be able to help. Went to a different location couple of days later without the letter, I was able to add him to mine. This lady is not helpful for customers.

I recently purchases a new trailer, and I called the registry to ask what I need to register it. The clerk told me everything I needed, gave me their fax number so my finance could fax my BoS over to them. They held it till I came in a couple days later to get my license plate. Always friendly and quick service. I have done all my registration with Registry west since they were downtown.

We just called the cops as a racist comment was made on my wife by an employee when we asked the agent to be polite with us. They did not like it because we asked about this and have told us not to come back again to this registry as it will be considered trespassing. Worst registry in Edmonton

I can only say good things about Registry West. At another registry they found it impossible to accept my proof of address as we had just moved. But Registry West saw that a declaration on our move was stamped and signed by our bank. One glance is all they needed. Then they also tested my eyes and took off the need for glasses on my drivers license. Many weeks later my wife went in. Same excellent treatment. Love these folks.Thanks!

I had the same rude tone lady who helped us... she is sooooo rude and I truly believe she should not work in a customer service industry. My story is we got our SIN Number and headed over to the registry to appIy for Alberta Health Card ... it was instructed by service Canada that We can use SIN letter as a proof of address to apply ...long story short .. instead of politely talking to us and letting us know about the documents needed, she was upfront rude To us telling She can’t help me ! I honestly don’t like dealing with her and choose not to deal with this registry ever again just because of her!

I went to this registry with my fiancé and asked for a religious marriage license, the clerk told us they are all the same and there is no other form. I insisted that there should be another one and she told me again that this form is all I needed and the rest should be fine. We ended up getting that one trusting the employee. I contacted our marriage officiant and he told me I have the wrong form. Now my fiancé is leaving the country (today is a Sunday) and is coming back the day of ceremony and we have THE WRONG forms. I ended up paying for another marriage certificate at another registry which is open on Sunday. This is frustrating and a perfect example of why employees need to be properly trained, or if not encouraged to look up things that they’re not certain about.

Went to registry on south side n they have no problem accepting it. Long story short: staff especially the lady on the far left has attitude towards customers. Not going to do any business there

I am over the moon impressed with this registry! I needed to get a new ID after having lost all of my identification. I called ahead to make sure I had enough documentation where a woman names Faye answered. She was warm and so lovely on the phone. Immediately after I headed down to get my new ID. Upon arriving the girls realized my ID was expired so it would not be so easy. The next step would be getting a new birth certificate first where I needed a friend who has known me a year to sign off on it. I waited for my friend to arrive and they got me started with everything. I am flying to Victoria this month and need my ID to do so. I can not begin to express my gratitude for these ladies and how accommodating and understanding they were! I will recommend this location each and every time to friends and family, and probably even strangers at this point. Thank you again!!!

Went here on two occasions: to pick up an out-of-province inspection form, and to finalize my car registration. Both times the staff were polite and efficient. Waiting times were mixed -- it really depends on the time of day -- but neither was excessive or irritating. And I could pay with a credit card without issue. Also, although it's downtown there is customer parking on the lot. And a salesperson at the dealership kindly loaned me a screwdriver to change my plates, then insisted on helping. Much appreciated.

Amazing experience. Had to deal with the joyless folks in Callingwood. The staffer here was the complete opposite. She actually talked to me, explained what was needed, took me through the process efficiently for my licence and health card. She even made eye contact. Little things like that are very appreciated. Customer service staff that can constructively dialogue are worth holding on to, don't lose Maryanne! (I think that was her name, excuse the spelling)

Dont waste your money go to this registry. Examiner tell to client get more driving class from her, then you will get more confidence on driving. Is this the way to make money.just failed student and ask them to come for classes. Govt.should take action regarding this .its shameful how intennally this lady take her decision.its not the first time.its more than once.its basic road test.examiner dont have to ask driver how many hrs a day you drive and how long u been drive. Tall Older lady short hair. I never go back to this location.or suggest anyone to go there.

Yes Sunil is a joke of an instructor. First of all he was late, again. I have also compiled my list of no less than (8) specified grievances against him, for the farce of my ride with him. It's beyond clear to me now that he's not invested in the safety of the roads, but in engorging the bank accounts he is employed by. I drove for at least 30 minutes safely, and he failed me based on 1 disputed stop, that is racketeering not safety. I am requesting anyone else who has, or may test with him, and has a similar experience to come forward. The comments on here will be compiled and potentially followed up on, based on any proceeding legal action against Sunil. This is not a system that can be tolerated, when one person without objective verification, can subject you to an additional cost without recourse.

I had a road test last week which i was failed because of curve to curve by the old man. Today i had another road test at the same location by a different person i failed again cuz he said i shouldn't drive curve to curve which was so confusing for me. Then i told him last time i failed cuz i wasn't driving curve to curve and now i followed i failed again. The answer i got from him was ohh it was maybe i misunderstanding i said no here is the paper from last time which says here then he said no he was wrong about it. A very very bad customer service also all they do it to rip off the customer and then pass once their badges are full. They have to be a shame telling lies or saying different things. I called to the register to talk to their manager she couldn't help also i ask about their head office’s phone number she gave me the wrong number. Like seriously is there any one who can help this location to not lie like that.

if i could give a zero, i would definitely do it. staff was so rude. a lady who’s about in her 30’s (my bad for not asking her name) was already at the end of the transaction on renewing my driver’s license when she saw i was holding my work permit. she asked me if what is that for in a very sarcastic manner and told her that i brought it just in case she asks for it (this is the second time i renewed my driver’s license so i know what to bring) as i’m not yet a permanent resident and that my residency is still on process. she told me that good thing she saw it and asked about my status before she gave my temporary license. she also asked for a letter from the “government” (as per her and i can tell that she doesn’t even know what she’s asking for) but she cannot specify what kind of letter she needed from me. she even assumed that i should know as an immigration lawyer gives it to the permanent resident applicants. i told her that i applied it myself and i did it online. i even showed her the emails that i received from the CIC and told me how would she know if those were legitimate emails??? like seriously??? she wasn’t even sure what kind of document she needed from me and now she was questioning the legitimacy of the emails that i received from CIC. she even told me that it was impossible for me to process my residency as she knew it should be through an immigration lawyer. i left this branch as i don’t wanna ruin my day (as today is my birthday) and to deal with a person who doesn’t even have an idea about my case. i decided to go to west-end registries (at 170 street and where i always go) and was just asked for my old driver’s license and work permit. the only reason why i went to this registry was because i moved and this is the nearest registry in my place. never again i’m gonna go in this branch.

First of all, my examiner was very nice and patient with me understanding my nervousness, secondly, the ladies at the desk were super nice to me getting me ready for the road test and completing my licensing process. I have been using this location for my registry needs since I moved to this neighbourhood over 2 years ago. I can't fully express how helpful, kind, and patient the staff has been. I have needed everything! Vehicles sales and purchases, drivers abstracts for commercial driver, learners permit tests, marriage license, name changes, you name it! My husband is hearing impaired and they have been patient with him (it's difficult when people speak quickly or he can't lip read). He often has to repeat questions. We particularly always look for Marianne when we arrive since she seems to always 'remember us from last time'. Great location, great staff! I'm a regular!

DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR ROADTEST The registry itself has nothing wrong with it, but the driving examiner (SUNIL) is a whole different story. First of all, HE WAS 15 MINS LATE, which he did not even apologize for one bit. Obviously that affected the timing itself because in result, he rushed me throughout. Second, he told me that i was obstructing traffic when clearly, no one was behind/beside me. Third, he yelled at me for being cautious at making a left turn like it was such a huge mistake to be CAUTIOUS OF PEDESTRIANS AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. Fourth, he gave me demerit points for maneuvers that he didnt ask me to even do. Fifth, he did not give me 3 attempts do correct my parallel park. In the end he told me "This didn't go very well." I couldn't argue because I know he had control of everything apart from the vehicle. BUT JUST TO WARN OTHERS, GO DO YOUR REGISTRY RESEARCH FIRST BEFORE SPENDING MONEY ON SOMEONE WHO ISN'T EVEN CAPABLE OF MAKING FAIR JUDGEMENT OF YOUR DRIVING.

I had high hopes for this registry, like many others I was surprised by the bad attitudes from the two ladies at the front desk. Also witnessed one of them yelling and making snarky comments towards a customer which was really sad and disappointing to see. Noticed that many of the low star ratings on here stem from instances with the front desk employees so I hope new employees can be hired to improve your service. Additionally, I would like to point out that on the official Alberta transportation website it says that "During the road test you will be required to perform a parallel and a hill park. Inability to successfully complete one of these skill maneuvers in three attempts will result in a failure of the road test." Unfortunately, I was unable to successfully complete my parallel parking; however, my examiner(had reddish hair) only gave me 1 attempt. Furthermore, I saw a driving instructor back into a pole when parking. I wish that you will take into consideration your customer feedback and change for the better.

I am a Newfoundlander living and working in Alberta. Marlene is also from the East, we had such a great conversation and shared a few laughs about us east coasters living in Alberta We even made plans to meet up for supper and drinks if we so happen win. My husband and my 14 year old daughter went to this location to give a first crack at the learners drivers test. Disappointment right off the bat because they didn't bring an original copy of her birth certificate just a copy (only because I didn't get the original back from when her passport was done 5 years ago), the passport (with her picture on it) was 2 years expired so they refused to allow the test to be taken... really! What 14 year old is going to fake a birth certificate to write a drivers test, what's the problem, the copy was obviously from an original version !!? Also, COVID happened so no one could travel plus our lovely government wasn't even working in order to generate a new passport to use as proof of identity. Expired or not it was once a valid active passport that required a birth certificate to get!! The rudeness wasn't appreciated either... taking my business elsewhere.

Cashier was inattentive and rude. She forgot printing my receipt. I had to go back for it and also realized that she gave me a dollar short for my change. In other registries the cashiers skillfully fold the registration paper, but she just hand it to me and kept looking at her computer screen. I could have walked out without saying bye and she would have ignored me, but I said thanks and have a great day to not look rude. Next time I won't be nice and friendly!

I was at the registry when Junta Sara Benny was there. Her and her husband and another couple were asked to kindly wait outside as the capacity had been exceeded. The agent was very polite. After a few minutes he came back in, without a mask on, and berated the young lady agent. A gentleman stepped in and said that was not acceptable and asked him to leave. He started yelling. He was escorted out and we could all see and hear the exchange, as the door remained open. At no time were any 'racist' comments said. I cannot stand by and let this go. They were very professional at all times. I am sorry your Registry must be falsely maligned.. Unfortunately these type of people will go to many lengths to get their way. This is a well respected registry . Keep up the good work.

My husband and I went in there over 4 weeks ago to change my AHC from my maiden name to married. The lady we dealt first of all gave us the wrong form. Another clerk from 2 seats over told her which form to give us. Filled it out and they took photo copies of things. Fast forward to today, I still haven’t received my AHC so I phoned AHS and they said they never received anything. I called this registry back to find out why my paperwork wasn’t filed and they didn’t even ask my name to try and figure it out. They didn’t bother even trying to figure it out or reprimand whomever didn’t do their job. I do NOT recommend this registry. (My ID doesn’t match my covid vaccines and I can’t do anything without the new AHC so thanks for that!!)

Miserable staff took visible glee in rejecting every proof of residence document I could muster, over the course of several visits. No attempt to help or suggest options at any point, even though I was only client there each time. Callingwood Registries is a dingy old building that's always super busy, but it's worth the extra drive if you value being treated like a human (staff was friendly and they sorted me out first try). I need to remember to savor every moment I'm alive and not in need of services from Registry West.

We have reported the business to police for the way they treated us. A lady treated us very badly. They refused us to take on an empty spot on the queue, asked us to wait outside and allowed another 2 people who arrived almost 10 minutes after us to take the spot that we were denied. We questioned this attitude of theirs and an old man who was probably a Driving Examiner asked to leave and not come back again. This reckless man even used a racist word at me and was very rude and impolite to my husband. Do not go to this Registry, if you have self-respect. If you live in the West, I recommend Callingwood Registry

I will never step foot in this business again. While my son was writing for his learners permit, i went to Safeway shortly. When i came back the the registry, i tapped my son on the shoulder to notify him of my return without saying a word. The staff immediately barked that I can't talk with him, which i new, and TOLD me to go sit down. Unfortunately he didn't pass the test. When I asked what happened when he abruptly walked away from the computer, the other staff member announced to the occupants of the business that he failed! Never been so disgusted with service. I hope everyone in my community takes the time to go elsewhere.

To that lady who was at the counter at like 8:30am today, (one in ponytail) Im not sure if you just missed your pills today or just need costumer service re-training.That very condescending attitude is disgusting. You can tell me the new rules and how do I acquire documents that I require for my test more courteously . Rather, you spoke extremely apathetic and with so much attitude. On May 26, 2020 I went into this registry to change my vehicle registration. I have decided to leave this review for others to read after thinking about it for a few days and see if my mind had changed. Here's my experience: Upon entering there is no indicators of where to line up or markings for social distancing. Only 1 other client at a station. I stood at the door for approx 4-5 mins while i watched a lady chatting through a door and laughing. When she finally came over to her work station she rudely, and I mean rudely said "NEXT, over here". I decided to wait for the other clerk as i could not believe how rude her tone was i ignored her call. She then spoke with a loud voice, "I said, over here, next in line"! So, I walked over and mumbled sorrrry..... The next step I gave her my new NVIS card to register my vehicle but to find out again with a rude tone, can't do anything for you without the bill of sale. Anyways, the review I would like to leave for everyone is that this lady is a very miserable rude person and choose never to use this registry. I feel she should not be in the customer service industry with an attitude like that and I am sure her co-employee's will agree! Cheer up!~

This registry was only after the money. I went for a road test three times and it was all failed.the reason for the first two failure is that is im driving too slow 45kph to 48kph im the community with maximum speed of 50kph.and so i failed.the 3rd time road test the instructor told me that im driving too fast when in fact im driving 40kph around the community with maximum 50kph.just a heads up to all who wants to have a license with confidence just try in some other registry.this registry don't even deserve a one star.

everything was fine until they gave me false information and I had to pay for that bad information ... they didn't return a document and I called to ask if they kept it and they said yes, I returned for a service and they demanded the document and I commented that someone from that same office told me that they kept it and that it was not necessary to present it again and my only option was to pay again for that document.
