I went in to Canadian Tire looking for an item not regularly sold in most places but had thought I had seen one there before. In the past when going in to Canadian Tire looking for help I would often be pointed far off to the other end of the store to an area not related to what I was looking for. This was very discouraging. I was very impressed. I saw a young man working there Aaron C. and he helped me with a few things and stayed right on task till my questions were answered. Aaron also took the time to see if a competitor happened to have what I was looking for.... checking a few places online making my Christmas shopping much easier. This young man went far above and beyond what is required. Thank you!

Didn't like the customer service for automotive. Rude and confusion between workers. When I called to check if my order was put in because it didn't go through the same day when I was in. I was told over the phone " Do you think your order will arrive overnight?"- I wasn't even asking for the status lol I was only asking if the order was put in. A few days later I get a call saying the rims arrived so I booked an appointment to have them put on. After handing over the car and a wait of 1.5 hours I was told the rims didn't come in so we can't do the service and as soon as I am about to take my car and go home they say we found the rims lol then another 30-40 min later they say sorry the rims you ordered doesn't fit your car, which is weird because the store manager who put in the order clearly told me these will fit your car and tire size( Which I understand could be a mistake because you won't know until you tried to put them on your car but Once I tried to return the rims they even tried to say we are gonna charge 10-20% fee for restocking) like cmon guys really, you make a mistake and the customer has to pay. Thank god they waved that because after spending 3 hours there and getting nothing done I was about to lose my mind.

Everytime I go into this particular store I cannot find anything that's posted on their website even if it shows to be in-stock. The help there is minimal. Purchased a diagnostic tool less than three weeks ago for $410. The employee passed it over to me from behind the counter. Because our new vehicle is European-made, I wasn't sure it would do all we needed it to, so I asked the cashier on my way out what the return policy was for it. 30 days, was the answer. Took it home, noticed there was no sealed packaging, just the box, and didn't think anything of it until we took it out of the box to inspect it and saw the screen was scratched, indicating it had previously been returned. Ended up buying a specialized diagnostic tool recommended for our vehicle. Took the original back tonight (just shy of three weeks)and was told that because we had'opened the package' indicating there was a seal or something originally, and it was more than two weeks since we'd purchased it, we couldn't get our money back, but only instore credit. Nice way to treat a customer: give them a package unsealed by a previous customer and then punish them for it being unsealed. ???? MerryChristmas to us. You can't eat in-store credit.

Well what can you say about Canadian Tire? It is really a Canadian icon. This store is a good representative of the chain. It has a couple of added things that make it better than average. Firstly it has a Mark's store located inside, so you can get a lot of clothing an footwear if you need it. Secondly it has a pretty solid firearms counter so you can get all the supplies you need for hunting, fishing, etc. I have been to the store many times and will go back again. I actually bought my last set of tires there and got a decent deal. Service could be better at times, but that is all big box stores these days.

I would rate one star if I could, but that's not an option. So I'll give the one star to the cashier at the till when you leave, she was really nice and quick, thank god. I booked an appointment at the beginning of October for October 19th, for an oil change before winter. I booked for 10:00am and I got there about 9:50am to check in and wait for my oil change. I went and walked around the entire store and then went to check to see where it was before I left to walk around outside. It wasn't even in yet, I checked the time and it was about 10:35am... I went for a walk and headed back to check on it at about 11:30am. I got back and it was still in so I sat and waited... And waited and waited and waited until 1:00pm when I couldn't wait any longer and went to the desk to ask roughly how much longer as it had been 3 hours for a simple synthetic oil change... Which apparently turned into a tire rotation and battery check in which I didn't even know was happening... The guy came back and said there were a couple things noted, I said that's okay I don't have time today so please just bring it out. He went and let them know and I waited by the desk about another 10 minutes. I finally had paid and left, I got in my vehicle and it was 1:27pm. I fully understand why it would take longer for an oil change with tire rotation and battery test BUT what I don't understand is why the tire rotation and battery test were even done as it didn't say that when I signed the paper. I also don't understand how that could take 3 hours to do when I had an appointment booked and was told and promised on my bill that it would be done by 11:30am. A reasonable amount of time for the above to be done. I'm also curious why I wasn't called to the front when the mechanic found the "issues" with my vehicle. I wasn't told about anything until I asked how much longer it would be till my vehicle was done... I'm assuming that's what I was waiting forever on considering I was watching absolutely no one touch my vehicle for the hour and thirty minutes I watched and waited in there waiting area... All in all I will not be returning as this isn't my first negative experience at this Canadian Tire service center.

Today I had to bring in my vehicle to have them look at my tire & an oil change. Oil change was done and that was fast & great but what impressed me was the service regarding my tire. My tires are newer and the 1 had gotten a wire in it. CT didn't have the same tire so I would've had to purchase 4 new tires but without being asked the Gentlemen helping me called another tire place and they were able to order me the same tire!! 1 instead of 4! That is beyond customer service... that's doing the right thing!! I am still thinking about what a great thing he did today! I had to come make sure to let people know!! Thanks for the amazing service!! ..I highly recommend Medicine Hat Canadian Tire!!

Rather inept. Bought a bike from them a few weeks ago and within days the bike fell apart. Part by part. Cashier didnt even give a recipt so i cant return it easily. Waste if money. Bike was half off too, charging originally 400 bucks for that piece of garbage? No thanks. Im shopping elsewhere for bikes and bike supplies from now on.

The guys at the mechanics desk and the mechanics are amazing. Had a tech and service manager call every garage in town to try to get us in for a wiring harness issue before heading home without lights on our trailer. Spent over an hour of their time in and out of the shop trying different things. Called every store and found what we needed at the last store. Without their help, our 10 hour trip home would've been 18 for sure. Thank you so much for taking the time to help us and setting yourselves back for us.

Canadian Tire is my go to store when I want tools or recreational toys. I find things easy to locate by aisle using the website, the prices are competitive and they seem to have alternatives if what I'm looking for isn't available. I don't recommend getting any automotive work done at any Canadian Tire, however. It's overpriced and not always the best workmanship.

Today I’m giving two stars. Knowing Canadian tire offers a service to fix bikes I went. Not only were they very vague on the service the employee who was very stand offish was not very good at explaining how the service worked. I talked with the warehouse manager Lawrence who could not even answer simple yes/no question and did not make me feel confident in the service. All I received were convoluted answers that completely wasted my time. I have brought bikes to Canadian tire before, not Medicine Hat, and have always had complete confidence I was going to be looked after. The employees especially management need to be trained better. BTW, Lawrence felt the need to follow me out of the store.

I find the staff for the most part very helpful here. The challenge I have is every time I need any products for the instant pot pressure cooker they always seem to be out of stock.(eg. 8qt Inside lid rings, 8 qt instant pots, 8 qt liner pots , and any cooking accessories for that size pot) Staff in this department have not been knowledgeable at all. Do your research for your instant pot pressure cooker before stopping here.

Today I tried to buy a new battery for my lawnmower by going through the auto entrance. After all that is where the batteries are kept. I could not get into the store without a tremendous amount of trouble. I am in a walker as I have a broken ankle. Turnstiles cannot be used in a walker but it did say to use the other side, which I did but that side does not open and if it did there was a bin of goods in front. Seems Cdn Tire wants you to walk through their entire store even if you are in a walker or wheelchair. I bought my battery and by the time I got to the car after all that walking I was and still am in a lot of pain. Thanks Cdn. Tire. Can't say when I'll be back.

It was just awful. Most painful wait ever, brought in 1 single tire to be balanced Friday afternoon. Was told it would be ready the next morning. I went there at lunch after work and they told me it would be later. About 3:30pm Saturday i got a call and they told me it would be about $300, more than double the price they told me initially but that was only a misunderstanding on the rim size. So i deciced to go to Kal Tire where they gave me the same tire, $300 balanced and installed (which Canadian Tire would not). Will never buy anything auto related here again

If you like to spend money for nothing...get your car fixed here! They do the bare minimum. I brought my car into them to fix an issue because my rear tires wore down to the cords so they made me buy 4 tires ($581) instead of just two because I have an AWD and they said the issue was caused by a worn bushing so I paid them $400 to fix it and then 7k kms later my rear tires were worn down to the cords again and it cost me another $251 to replace them AGAIN and they said oh well we thought that the bushing was the issue. They misinformed me because they said there was no alignment needed in the rear. I have never had any luck with Canadian Tire mechanics ripping me off and Elliot Lake is no exception!

For having tire in the name, the service, responsiveness, and pure customer experience sure is terrible when dealing with Canadian tire for anything tire related. A few months ago I got a set of 4 tires replaced. I left my car for the day with the assurance that the work would be done. 2.5 hours prior to closing I get a call, tires just came in and we don't have time to get them on, it will be done tomorrow. I asked, can you not have someone stay a few extra minutes and get the job done as promised? Answer was no. Now I recently went back to get a tire leak repaired, as the tire warrenty promises free repair. Again they said they can't do it today and could Possible do it tomorrow if I leave the car for the entire day. Again, just a leak, one of the easiest tire related jobs. I was also informed they do not take appointments for tire repairs and the only option they have is to leave the car for the entire day. I just laught at Joe, the guy I have dealt with twice, and walked away. I would rather pay kaltire or fountain tire to do the work fast and well, then deal with this terrible customer experience.

Calls me back and says they could get me a discounted price at piston ring for a new battery with full warranty. The discount....wait for it...$20 off lololololol. Had to go buy a new battery because he couldn't tell me when the new one was coming. And the Manager didnt even have the guts to call me himself. Thanks to Kurt for trying. I have had the typical experiences when shopping anywhere. I've purchased some amazing MasterCraft products, but I have also purchased some dud MasterCraft products over the years. So it's no different than buying tools or products anywhere else. The MasterCraft line has a couple different "Levels" if you will, of their products. They offer a base line of tools, which most turn out to be excellent for light duty use around the house. Then they offer a Professional line of tools, which are meant to be used hard, day to day, in a more heavy duty setting, like a professional mechanic would use. I've used some of the basic MasterCraft line for decades, and even in a heavy use capacity, and have never had an issue. I've also used some of the basic line just a few times before the tool broke. So it's just like any other brand on the market. Sometimes you simply end up with a lemon. I've never had any problems when returning any of the items I've had to return, over the years. It's always been a simple exchange or refund of the item in question. The staff here in Medicine Hat are great. They're all very helpful, and they even still seek firearms, while a lot of other Canadian Tire stores are washing their hands of hunting and shooting items.

Terrible service and curbside organization. The app, website and front door sticker say the store is open until 6pm. I arrived at 4:50 and waited 15 minutes before going to the door at 5:05. I was ignored as staff walked by and eventually got someone’s attention just to abruptly say “we are closed”. Obviously this didn’t make sense and I said you’re open til 6 and even if it’s 5 I was here waiting before 5 for someone to come to my vehicle. After some huffing and puffing my order was pulled. There were 5 other vehicles in the parking lot call the phone which wasn’t being answered and they didn’t have the decency to just let them know they’re closed or at least get a pen and paper and put a make shift sign on the door. I won’t be spending money there again next time I’m in town.

The automotive department was amazing last Friday, got a flat tire in Walmart parking lot, walked over to Canadian Tire auto dept and Dan the Manager was off for the day another gentleman named Dan was on he sent one of the guys over with small air compressor to fill the flat tire for me to get the car over there to fix. They had my car done ready to go in less than 1/2 hour, I live an hour out of Medicine Hat and Walmart had been my last stop so they got me back on the road very quickly!!! I took a bunch of photos & sent to my contractor to ask for help. Lol. I tried to find help it wasn't available, only at the front door when you walk in. Its a very huge store, hard to find help. Maybe add doorbells to sections for help? Or lights that notify staff of that area?

Had problems buying going home 35 minutes drive from smooth Rock. Open my set of tap and the 1 tap missing in the set that was the one I did need other times they give me the wrong break padded. Than couldn't return due to Covid

What I like about shopping at Canadian Tire, is that it always brings me back to my childhood when my Dad took me with him, whenever he had to go to Canadian Tire. He would teach me a lot, from me being curious of what it is that we are shopping for, that I am happy to pass on the generation to my kids as well.

This last visit to Canadian Tire was awful. We were to pick up a kayak, which was purchased as a gift and to be picked up today. We went there and the kayak was nowhere to be found!! Five or six employees muddled about for over an hour, with no success finding the paid for kayak! My partner, because of a trip planned this week, purchased another kayak at $100 more than the one purchased, as a gift. Further to that, last Fall, I purchased 4 tires and some other items valued at over a thousand bucks. When I got to the till, the cashier asked me for around $300. I mentioned that couldn't be correct. She could not have charged me for the tires, which were $600. After a few minutes, fussing with the till, she assured me that the amount was indeed around $300. I paid her but when I got to my car, I could not leave the parking lot. I went back to the store, explained what had just occurred. I insisted there was an error and paid the $600 for the tires!! Cashier training: fail!!

Had a safety done, vehicle sat in the driveway for months due to conversion to a camper van. On the first trip out we got 200km away and I felt some vibration. Pulled over and found driver's side rear as pictured. Lugs were finger-tight on passenger side rear, but fully torqued both sides of front. Luckily I noticed the issue before losing the wheel. Service says they won't do anything because too much time has passed.

The prices are okay for most of the items, but, I shop mainly kitchen things and the saucepans are so expensive. As well as the small electric appliances. The people there are so nice though and that alone makes you want to go back .

Went inside for a bike and lock today. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Before I entered I noticed leaves along the front curb. By the time I was leaving they had someone sweeping them up. Great place to get almost anything you need.
