My Mother, Brother & I were all at Galaxy Motor in Courtenay yesterday & today. We were going to trade 2 vehicles & buy a minimum of 2, possibly 3. I was waiting to be approved through the bank which we wouldn’t know until tomorrow morning. Even if The financing didn’t go through, my Mother made them well aware that we would be purchasing the vehicle regardless, No financing needed. This vehicle was sold under my nose with me standing there listening to them congratulate the other people. We were there first, we made a deal and they did not honour it. We were also in the beginnings of negotiations on 2 other vehicles that we would have purchased by Monday. My Mother is a very busy business women & it took a lot of her time to deal with this & they just disregarded her. Not impressed. At all.

So unbelievably impressed with the service here!!! They really do go above and beyond in their customer service! Shout out to John and Andy for their incredible service! Will be my life-long, go-to, one-stop-shop for anything cars! They went out of their way to accommodate my complicated situation and got me driving an absolutely AMAZING vehicle! There was literally NO pressure to make a purchase and I genuinely felt like they were there to work with me and not just a "take my money and run" shop. They were not AT ALL condescending to a single woman car shopping (as a lot of places are) or pushy. No ego's and very kind and patient. As a reluctant buyer, (HATE car shopping) and somewhat disheartened by the service I had received elsewhere in the valley, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism and overall expertise of the staff at Courtenay Galaxy Motors. At no time did I feel sales pressured or swamped with cheesie tactics or gimmicks. Quite the opposite. In particular, my salesperson John was outstanding! Not the greatest experience had here by me. Would not recommend and likely will not return. I gave them the budget that I wanted and they came back with almost $100 more and expected that to be ok. There was little to no flexibility in what they were willing to offer me for the car that I wanted. There is supposed to be a $750 military/emergency services discount. They said that because the car was “on sale” that it wouldn’t apply. After having looked at their website for some time for cars prior to buying, more often than not they indicate “promo” prices on cars. A sales gimmick and easy way out of providing a service discount in my opinion. Sneaky. When I whittled the price down, only a little, and agreed. I was told that the salesperson I dealt with “threw in” a 3yr warranty for me. Now, I don’t know about you but when you hear that, you assume it was a gesture and not an additional price. I come to find that he tacked on a $2200 extended warranty without my knowledge or permission. Had I not inquired, I would not have known! Now, seems to be this would have been a great thing to mention seeing as removing it dropped my payments down to just $20 over budget. Not impressed. They showed me paperwork indicating that the car had had a $250 detail job done to it. After being in the car this was certainly not the case. It was covered in old dust/dirt inside, the windows were filthy inside, etc. Some detail job that was if it was done. If that’s any indication of their detailing service, I would not recommend that either. They agreed to have the car cleaned/detailed inside and out - still waiting for that appointment. In fact, I’m still waiting for some semblance of service after sale. After I drove off the lot, I never heard from them again. Except for an inquiry for some information regarding the financing. No check in to see how I liked the car, if everything was going well with it, etc. Never experienced that with any other car purchase. If you’re going to buy here, just don’t expect much. They don’t want to negotiate, they don’t want to provide any sort of exceptional experience. It was way too stressful of an experience for me and I highly doubt I would return for another car in the future.

Bought my first vehicle here back in May. I was one of the first customers and was happy with the selection they had. I purchased a 2011 ram 1500 and haven't had any problems. I drove from Comox to Anchorage Alaska and had nothing wrong with it and Peter was very helpful in letting me know when a veichle that was in my price and selection range was in the lot. Would recommend taking a look if you're thinking about getting a vehicle!

Went in to look at the lot and saw a Fiat 500 Abarth with a widow sticker of $15,495.00. Asked the salesman about the car and was told it was now $18,495.00. Just should not be allowed. If the sticker says one price then that is what it should sell for. Not very professional and I would suggest being very careful about doing business with people who operate like that. There are more reputable car dealers in town than this one, buyer beware!

I went to Galaxy Motors looking to get out of my 2 vehicles and into one. The friendly staff immediately made it a mission to get me in the perfect vehicle and asked me what it was exactly I wanted and they got me it! One of the vehicles I was trading in was an older car and they still did everything they could do to get me the best trade in value possible! I dealt with John, and I felt he wasn't going to be satisfied until I was satisfied which is a huge selling point for me when I am buying a vehicle. And even after purchasing my truck through them, I still receive texts asking if everything is still perfect and if there was anything else they could do! If anyone you know is looking for a vehicle, do not hesitate on going there. An absolutely amazing experience dealing with them and I will be recommending others to them as well.

A long overdue review. Our car broke down in Black Creek on our way home from vacation on the Labour Day long weekend. It was pouring rain and we were on the side of the highway. After calling many places, either places were not open, or they would not look at our car until the following week. We got through to Jenn at Galaxy Motors and she was amazing! She told us that they could look at our car that afternoon. We had it towed to Galaxy and Jenn took the time to talk to me and explain everything to me on the phone that same day. It was going to take a few days for the parts needed, so we rented a car and headed home for the week. We also had a litte more maintenance done given that the car would be there for the week. When we returned the next Sunday, Jenn came and picked us up when we returned our rental car and drove us back to Galaxy. On her day off! Jenn was so incredibly friendly, understanding and attentive, particularly when we were rather stressed about the car and getting home. Jenn helped make a pretty awful experience manageable. She is a gem!

Scammers, my mother inlaw purchased a vehicle with 60k km from the courtenay location with an extended warranty. The vehicle had major issues shortly after the purchase. When we brought the vehicle back they refused to honor the warranty or to work respectfully with us to resolve the issue. Otherwise they sold us a Lemmon took our money for an extended warranty and won't honor it. SCAMMERS.

Would definatly not recomend going here especially if you have a not so good credit rating. Their adds on the t.v. and radio say your job is all you need then deny you on that you dont make enough. If you need help getting a vehicle go to mazda in 8 months i am in my second upgraded vehicle. The credit you deserve wont come from this place. It should never ever be hard to get into a vehicle no matter what your score sais give a guy a shot and remember where you started from.

I happened to pull in on a whim as I was headed to another dealership to finalize a deal on a different car, It was Friday night and I wasn't expecting anyone to still be there but I saw a really nice car that fit my criteria and Peter Mallany came out and greeted us and set us up on a test drive. 20 minutes later I was sold and after some tough negotiating on my part we came to an agreement. The guys had the paper work done up quickly and accurately and the insurance people were dispatched. By 7:30 that night we were on our way with our new car. Low pressure, quick and friendly service, and the follow-up was good as well.

Absolutely wonderful! I got a new car from a different place but it got T-boned and was a total loss. I loved their selection I viewed online so I decided to try my luck there. They gave me several options that fit my needs and I got to test drive them all. I still owed from my previous loan but the finance staffers helped me get a loan to cover my new car AND help me pay off my previous loan. The payments met my expectations and I feel such relief not having the other Loan looming over my head and knowing I got a great car so I can continue to work. The staff at Galaxy absolutely went way above and beyond to get a financing deal that worked us and worked with us for a couple weekends helping us find a vehicle that we loved and that worked for us, I think we test-drove five or six vehicles before deciding and we never felt like we were inconveniencing anybody or pressured into buying anything. As a matter of fact we went to four different dealerships the first weekend we went looking for a vehicle, Galaxy was the only dealership that didn't hojnfgg6d us all week phoning everyday ect.... they called once to let us know that they found a vehicle they think we might like and left it up to us. Booking an appointment with the service department is easy via phone or the website - replies are always fast. The service team takes great care of you and your car and has a comfortable, quiet place to wait for maintenance and repairs. Irv gives honest and clear details on what they will perform and why. Plus if your appointment is long and you get bored, there's a huge variety of cars to look at out on the lot to pass the time. The front end staff are helpful, friendly and never pushy. My favourite thing about my Galaxy car is the free weekly car washes while I do my Costco shopping.

We came in for a “20 minute” appointment and left and hour and a half later. The salesman & the sales manager both did not listen to what we came for. Left us sitting multiple times for extended periods. The sales man didn’t offer to show us anything, we had to ask after he left us to go show another customer a car. Took my truck for a drive with out telling me & tried to sneak a credit check with out directly asking. I thought I would give them a chance after being told it was new management, but nothings changed. We will not be back.

I am selling my newish car and I talked to one of the employees on the phone who told me that your dealership would really like my vehicle on their lot. After telling him that I live in the Cowichan valley, he assured me that they would love to buy it at the Courtenay location. So I decided to drive up there and give them my business. I was greeted and then quickly given the load of BS from the appraiser, and offered an insulting lowball offer. If I wanted to waste my time, I could of just gone to the local Galaxy motors, or better yet...Anywhere else. If you're selling your vehicle, don't waste your time here people.

I like their selection, generally. My girlfriend and I were told, that they couldn't use my credit and the best rating they could get her was 10.99% even though she has a great salary. For some reason they would not use my credit, even though we requested they do so as my credit is much better than hers. Kia used my credit only and got me a loan, not a joint loan, at 6.04 % even though I am a student at this time.

We went in looking for a used vehicle, specifically looking at a few Jeeps that they had on their lot. It first started with our sales associate not being able to answer any questions we had on the vehicle, then after taking it for a test drive we came back and found his desk covered in garbage, as a "joke" from their manager, seems a little unprofessional to me. After waiting almost 30 minutes they came with all the discounts that they could give us, which didn't include the military discount we were told we would get, and since they were already doing us "such a deal" we would not be getting, that is when I realized they were trying to charge us almost $2000 more than what the website had actually said the price was for this vehicle. Long story short, they were incredibly unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone go there, nor will we be going back.

On the recommendation of a friend about 2 years ago, I started taking my 2012 Nissan Rogue to Galaxy for service, as I was very unhappy with Comox Valley Nissan, where I had purchased my car. I can't say enough good things about Irv and his staff at Galaxy, and especially Kyle, who usually services my car. Their prices are excellent and their service is above and beyond. I recently decided to trade my car in for a newer Nissan Rogue, and found the perfect car at Galaxy. I was very happy with the trade-in deal and, when there was an issue with the tires shortly after I bought it, they once again came through with the best service ever. Bonus - I now have free car washes every Sat. forever. Great people, great service.

Service was absolutely terrible. Brought my vehicle in for a free oil change within my one year warrantee and yes, the oil change was free, but rather than calling me regarding a complication with my service that I could have resolved for FREE when I was a block away, they charged me for an hour of labor (100$) and another half an hour of labor to clean an electrical terminal when I was quoted much less simply to diagnose the problem. Seeing as this was my last free oil change within my one year of purchasing, I will most definitely NOT be going back. I also requested a car wash seeing as my vehicle would be there for 7 hours, free for life with the purchase of a vehicle, but nope! They didn’t even adjust my tire pressures even though there’s a light on in the dash. 150$ doesn’t get you much around Christmas, these days!

I called from Vancouver as I am moving to the Island for a job in Courtenay and I figured I would call Galaxy Motors to see if there were any good deals at their establishment for a trade in. Shirley (who answered my call) was incredibly rude and seemed uninterested in helping me to get through to a dealer. As soon as she heard me speak her tone changed and it was as if my accent had set her off. I would normally not write a review but her attitude was so demeaning towards me that I had to say something. I do not know if she was having a bad day but I eventually got sick of the treatment I was receiving and hung up. Hopefully, she was just having an off day but I did not understand why I was being treated so poorly and I will probably not go to Galaxy in the future because of this.

Amazing staff, they are literally magic! My credit isnt the best and they helped me get into 2017 Kia Soul with a really good interest rate, considering my credit. Richard, Danny, Jonah, and Brad were all really down-to-earth and treated us like people not a paycheck or commission cut. Over the course of about 10 days we had to go in several times to deal with various things and every time we look forward to going in because of how well we were treated.... we will definitely be taken advantage of free hamburgers and car wash is just so we can go in and visit. My wife and I decided to look into a used Cadillac ATS. There were several available on the web and locally in both the Comox Valley and Campbell River. Galaxy Motors had what we were looking for and their price point was comparable to where it needed to be for the year/model and mileage. We spoke with Richard Caissie and discussed financing and warranty options while they had a technician evaluate our trade in. Last week I wandered into Galaxy Motors in my pursuit of replacing my well-worn car. Their lot had an excellent variety of used vehicles – all with the 150 point inspection already complete. Needless to say, I found my vehicle of choice and it was with the professional assistance of Richard, the salesman, who answered all my questions and provided all the facts about my 2018 Mitsubishi, RVR. I was then introduced to the manager, Brad, who worked the numbers to my satisfaction and again, with pleasant professionalism. Some may think trading in the old and buying a new vehicle is a daunting task, but Richard and Brad handled it all making the experience easy and stress-free. I drove off the lot with confidence. Huge Rave to Nick and Jennifer and their whole Service team!! My husband and I were in Courtenay for an appointment earlier this week when the thermostat housing and manifold gasket went on our car. We pulled into Costco to park, steam pouring out from under the hood. After my husband ensured what the problem was, we then walked across the street to your Service Department and spoke with Nick who was able to order the parts we needed and arrange for a repair. As our bad luck continued, the part did not arrive in time ( no fault of their's) So there we were, stuck in Courtenay with no way to get home to Campbell River, me 2 days after minor surgery and a doctor's appointment in the morning. To say I was "done" was an understatement. It was then that Nick offered to drive us home and ensured that our car would be repaired in the morning, which it was and at a very fair price. Jennifer called when everything was done and was able to take payment over the phone and she even arranged for someone (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name) to deliver our car back to Campbell River for us!! I have never experienced such a level of such amazing customer care and compassion in my life!! After expressing what I was looking for with a certain budget, Peter found the Truck in the system that had the criteria I had in mind. What I found doing the transaction was his helpful friendly demeanour without the "pushy attitude" I usually found at Dealerships in lots of my vehicle purchases. He arranged for the vehicle to be brought up from Victoria and followed with a test drive. The ratings for this location are well deserved. After dealing with many car salespeople over the two months prior to finding Galaxy, I was so happy that I ended up talking to John Wells. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and, most importantly, he was the first car salesperson I spoke to that LOVED cars. He knew how the vehicles functioned, how the different transmissions and features worked, and had current knowledge of the industry in general. I was on the island from Vancouver to sell my own vehicle. I had to drive to Campbell River to complete the sale before buying a car. John went above and beyond. He offered to go with me to help sell my car, and gave me a ride back. Yes, it was in his best interest as well, but it took up half of his day and was incredibly helpful as I already knew I was in love with the Kia Soul I ended up purchasing. This dealership stands behind it's vehicles. John, and then later, sales manager Danny, went through the car fax report, and inspection report with me. This was not quickly flashed on a screen and glossed over (the usual tactic), but printed out and given to me to look at. I needed to make some adjustments to the finances the day after the sale, and Danny took time, on a busy day, to help me figure everything out. This was an excellent experience. I would 100% go back here to buy my next vehicle. These folks understand customer service and salesmanship. If people choose to buy vehicles with 200k plus km's, things can go wrong. That's the risk of cheaper cars. From my experience here, I do not beleive they would knowingly sell a lemon.

Phenomenal service. I was driving a leased truck when my driving needs changed. I needed a smaller vehicle with good fuel economy. My terror of the buying process quickly faded after walking into the Galaxy Motors showroom. Before checking out Galaxy Motors, I’d spent a few weeks visiting various dealers and re-sellers in the valley and experienced the gambit of sales techniques, from high pressure (decide now, two others looking, a “one day” bonus, etc) to the bait and switch, followed by an attempted up sale. Jordan, Danny, and Andy at Galaxy focused on me. Jordan made it clear from the get go that, WHAT I WANTED was his first concern. From clear, open financing options with no “hidden” parts, to the test drive and discussion about my vehicle choice, through to reviewing a provided “Carfax” data sheet, and extended warranty option package, I was treated with respect and never pressured. In fact, it was Jordan (my salesman) who suggested a “break” when it was clear I was a little overwhelmed and needed time to gather my thoughts. “Take as much time as you need,” was a phrase I thought was never uttered on a car lot. This review is a few months late but I must get this in before 2020 ends! I bought my Buick Envision from Courtney’s Galaxy Motors and it was the best vehicle buying experience I have EVER had!!!! All of the staff were friendly, NO PRESSURE, knowledgeable, professional, ... I honestly cannot say how different this was than ALL of the others I have experienced down through the years. Another fact, the price we settled on was by far the best over Victoria, Duncan, and Nanaimo. I have already shared my story with Friends and Family. Who would ever take a chance at looking anywhere else??

We recently bought a used vehicle at Galaxy Motors, Courtenay. We have never previously looked forward to car buying, but our experience at Galaxy was different. Peter M. was the most friendly and helpful salesman we could ever have hoped to meet; never once was he pushy or impatient. Instead of having to haggle over the price, he up-front offered us various discounts. So we assumed we would then get low-balled on the values of our two trade-ins, but Joey did the numbers and offered us very fair prices. It was a long day of decision-making, but it was an enjoyable and entirely stress-free experience - thank you Peter!
