During a service an item went missing from truck. Was told to only give them a 10/10 on survey after my service..... which I didn't do because of the missing item. Owner calls me not impressed, quite the attitude and tough guy behaviour. Later on They were not helpful with a Subaru dealership during a lease trade in of the vehicle and refused to fulfill Subaru's questions and requests. Nissan Canada took care of it instead and were shocked they couldn’t send one simple piece of paperwork. Sadly because of this I would not get another Nissan or recommend them.

I had a terrible experience with Courtenay Nissan. I was selling my 2019 truck privately and they reached out to me to buy it, we agreed on a price and they bought it. Long story short I didn’t receive the money for the truck until just over 4 weeks from when they took the truck. I called multiple times throughout that period, finally I went in and talk to them and he said he was going to look into it for me, I asked him to call me with an update and he never bothered to get back to me but finally I received my money. I will definitely not do business here again.

Courtenay Nissan graciously showed us a cost effective vehicle that was comparable to a TDI Jetta. From the time we got introduced to the Nissan Altima, our experience with the staff at Courtenay Nissan has been VERY good and pleasant. Every time I have gone there, for what ever reason (oil changes, free car washes, free BBQ's on Fridays) the staff at Courtenay Nissan make me feel like I am apart of the family. I find my self visiting them sometimes because they are SO pleasant. TDI is a thing of the past for us now because the gas mileage of the Nissan Altima with the CVT transmission. I would HIGHLY recommend this Dealership to anyone who desires an amazing experience while shopping for a WELL ENGINEERED product. A thought came to me after buying my third car from Todd @ Courtenay Nissan was, "it would sure be easy to be a sales person at Courtenay Nissan because Nissan products sell themself (well laid out, elegant and excellent gas mileage) and because of the great support that the employees received from there employer. I strongly believe this Dealership has RAISED the standards in The Comox Valley. If you are thinking of a new car, or even a GOOD used car, I recommend a Nissan products and with an amazing experience, go to Courtenay Nissan. Ps. I worked with Brittney remotely via text, email and phone to purchase a 2019 Nissan Titan Pro 4X over the course of a couple days... We were leaving on a trip to visit friends in the Cariboo the next day and couldn’t make the trip to the Island to pick up the vehicle immediately. However, Brittney and the team at Courtenay Nissan arranged to deliver the truck to me in Port Coquitlam the very next day and we met at my local insurance agency to transfer the plates, drove over to the bank together to settle up the financials and then Brittney drove my trade-in back to Courtenay. Overall the experience was very smooth and we had the pleasure of driving our new truck on our vacation. I would recommend Courtenay Nissan and especially Brittney to anyone looking for a new Nissan on the mainland or on Vancouver Island.

Service desk staff are incredible, but service always takes so long! Had to bring in my car for a recall and was told it would take three hrs max. Finally got to go home 4.5 hrs later. Also, oil changes tend to take 2 hrs! Won't be going back anymore unless necessary...

Had our 2015 Nissan Versa towed to Courtenay Nissan only because I work up in the valley. Hubby was told our transmission was probably shot on our 3YO vehicle! (Dont buy a CVT as this is common)The service center couldn't guess how long it would take to put in a new one, or how much it would cost to replace. They suggested "it could take up to 22 hours"..while they hooked our car to a computer, they suggested my husband sit in some of the lot cars...once he showed interest in the pathfinder, any talk of fixing our car was pushed to the wayside...they spent the next 6 hours trying to convince my hubby he needed this new Pathfinder...they haggled for 6 hours about price and kept pushing the extended warranty. Once hubby was fed up ( as they couldn't take no) he demanded a courtesy car...we still had no answer about our original car...the next morning I was fed up, called kia and have since purchased a Sorento with ZERO pressure...but honestly, would have liked to just had my original car fixed...save the headache and avoid not only a CVT transmission, but this dealership

Both my daughter and I had wonderful experiences buying our cars at this dealership in the past. When I was back there in early 2019 ( at their urging and phone calls), I learned that the dealership had been sold last year and was under new owners. What started out well ended up turning terrible . Many different salesman, including manager, assistant manager, financial guy had tried to reach a deal with me but finally the owner sat down with me and we reached an agreement on a trade in. I even went up in my budget which was hard as I am a single senior on a fixed income. Then......within a short time, all of a sudden they started changing the agreement. They wanted me to pay more. I finally ended up walking out! It was an absolutely horrible, dirty, slimy feeling experience! What a shame that what used to be a great place to buy a car for me has now turned into a place I don’t want to go back to. The only thing positive about my experience this time was Logan.

We had to purchase a new to us vehicle to replace the one that we had to put down. We ended up with a really well maintained Dodge Grand Caravan that had been overhauled by the Nissan dealership to bring it up to par. It's got new breaks and calipers, new tires, fully serviced and running like a top. It was a bit stressful for both my partner and I. We had gone to look and ended up spending the afternoon, 2 kids in tow, buying a Van. Brandon was a very nice young man that's just moved to the Valley from Edmonton and was really great to do business with. Leanne helped us figure out the financing and the whole team of people helped make our first dealership experience a positive one. Our kids were treated amazingly and were great for the 4 hours it took to get everything worked out. The grand reopening had a bonus of either a free trip to Vegas or Mexico or free oil changes for life. We took the oil changes. Thanks Toyota Nissan, for a job well done!

Bought a 2003 GMC Yukon from there. They took my Toyota Matrix in trade. I had a overall good experience. The truck had some issues but nothing I did not expect for a 2003 vehicle. The price was fair. The only surprise was the 699$ documentation fee that was not advertise on the sale add. I would do future business with them but I would ask more questions about fees.

We were debating buying a new Leaf last year. Went in for a test drive. They didnt' have any on the lot. The Salesman sat us in some other car (A Micra I think) saying they were identical (Which I doubt they are). He was unable to answer' any of our questions about the Leaf, completely useless and not knowledgeable about the car on any level. Had no idea about range or anything. We asked about the government tax incentives etc that we saw advertised. He knew nothing about those either. We ended up buying a Toyota (Which we love), although a knowledgable salesman may have had us driving away in a Leaf instead. EDIT: I see the response below from Jeff at the Dealership. Thanks for replying, I do appreciate it.

I bought my 2013 Rouge from this dealership quite a few years ago and can say it was a very positive experience back then. However things since then have gone downhill from there. Over the years I have now been receiving multiple calls, texts, and letters from the dealership asking to buy my rouge where I have made it very clear that I am not interested in selling. I have in addition told them that I do not wish to be contacted in any way for any reason from them. This is something I have phoned in multiple times for now They then proceeded to contact me again and again. Finally I was overly fed up and contacted Nissan Corporate to file a complaint to which they said they would put a note on the account I have just today received yet another letter asking if I am interested in selling my rouge. There is nothing that this dealership can do at this point to fix this other than to stop contacting me as I have now requested multiple times. Based on that I would not recommend that anyone do business with this dealership, the initial meet and greet will go well but just be aware of the continued harassment that will follow

Stay well away! I bought a beautiful little xTerra from these guys in 2015. For the past year, they have phoned me on a daily to weekly basis trying to get me to trade it in. I have refused every time, and asked them not to call me anymore. They kept calling, so I blocked the number of Comox Valley Nissan. I suddenly started getting email messages that my xTerra needed servicing and to bring it in. This seemed to be a ploy to get me to come in and I was also legitimately concerned that their service department might do something surreptitious. So I took it to my regular , honest, trustworthy mechanic who didn't find that it needed service. In the meantime I began getting daily to weekly phone calls from their sales team members from random cell phone numbers. On Friday March 22, I finally said to the sales agent who called wanting the xTerra, I do not want you calling me again. Any further phone calls from Comox Valley Nissan will constitute an offer of 50, 000 for the xTerra. Today I got a text from Comox Valley Nissan. They were harassing me at a level that is criminal and they still haven't stopped. I posted about it on Facebook and 70 people came forward who are all undergoing the same harassment. Do not buy a vehicle from these guys or you too will be harassed relentlessly (unless you like that sort of thing). Comox Valley Nissan is a very shady company.

My girlfriend has had a miserable experience with this dealership. It's just been one thing after another. Every interaction has been full of promises they haven't kept and every mistake they've made amends for has been followed by more negligence and laziness. I'll give a few examples... When she initially bought the car they were extremely disorganized. She also asked for some aesthetic accessories that they didn't have in stock but they said they could order them for us. Not only did they order half of these parts in the wrong color and half of them in the right color, they didn't even order everything that was paid for. Then when they finally got the all the parts in the right color(or so we thought), it took all day and multiple visits to the dealership where they told us they were finished. On each visit we noticed that it was missing peices, the decals were wrinkled, and the mirror covers were crooked. We had to take a ferry just to get there and back which they claimed they would pay for and we were worried about missing the return sailing so we had to drive away in the mess they left. Eventually they offered to bring a courtesy car over on the ferry and trade off so they could get the car redone, awesome, we made the trade and got the car back a few days later with a damaged passenger side mirror assembly and next to no gas after repeated promises that it would be filled. If a person goes to a car dealership and purchases a brand new vehicle they expect a certain level of care and attention to be paid to their new property. It's easy to let it go when it's one time but when you see this pattern in each and every interaction something needs to change. Such a shame that buying her first new car had to come with so much frustration that could have easily been avoided.

Yesterday my Sentra 2009 fuel pump quit on the highway. I could not get it to the dealership. However a call was made to them giving vin number to track down a fuel pump. Today I called back to double check costs and parts just to calm my mind. Parts guy Mike actually went back to all the notes from yesterdays call to find the VIN number and find my information. He reassured me about costs and charges for the repair and that they are in line with Nissan. I am relieved. I think that is a excellent service and I am very happy especially considering the dealership was not even going to do the repair.

Had the pleasure of purchasing a used vehicle from them recently. I knew Russell and approached him about one of their vehicles in stock. The process was smooth, accommodations were made to get me in whenever I wanted. Russell is super down to earth and I felt 0 pressure or push to buy. They were extremely honest with prices and their entire approach was fantastic. It made me feel very comfortable. I was not in that desperate of a position for a new vehicle but the car they had fit my lifestyle. I went in Saturday to look at it and take it for a test drive. I bought the car on Monday. The finance team was respectful with their offers and I never felt blown off or put down. they were quick to respond to my offers and we settled quite quickly. Everyone was very friendly and I felt that I got a very fair deal on the car. All in all, a great experience. Stress free and quick... Super easy, they took care of everything and I got a great deal. I couldn't recommend them more. In the future, if/when I choose to upgrade, I will be back. I never write reviews online and these guys got damn near 3 paragraphs out of me. Do yourself a favour and go see Russell.

So I brought a second key I could not find the key that was left in the truck so I thought they you kept it I would swing buy and pick it up later. No issue. This dealership has been harassing me for the past year about trading in my vehicle. I have received phone calls and text messages from multiple unknown numbers (mostly after their regular business hours), and emails, all from different sales representatives. I have asked numerous times for my phone number to be removed from my customer file, and to no longer be contacted about “upgrading” my vehicle. Each time my request has been ignored. Now when the time comes to upgrade my vehicle, I will be going to a different dealership. Update: I’m still being harassed. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!!

I went there on dec 2nd 2019 at around 4.30pm with my friend to look at Nissan pathfinder 2019. Sales person wasn't intrested talking about the car. He wanted to follow the "procedure" and wanted to take my info and my preferences first, which I did. He Keep going to talk to his boss about everything and just ignored me. I was in a hurry. I am sure it is a great car so I didn't wanted a test drive. I told them to email me the break down. Funny thing someone sent me a thank you email for stopping by so I asked again to send me an email with breakdown of nissan pathfinder 2019 with what I was looking for. Which i gave him when we were talking and filling out the stupid form. That person never replied. Next day on 3rd dec 2019 in the evening someone else replied me with few options with 2 page long email. I already purchased kia sorento 2019 EX V6 AWD 7-Seater on dec 3rd 2019 morning by that time. Lesson for sales person- 1. Forget about the procedure and forms, talk about car with some passion, remember what customer is looking for and offer the best deal. Forms can be done afterwards. 2. Communication is the key- always have only one person contact point with customer and reply faster because your sales depends on it. Good luck.

My car had a 'clicking noise' and I had brought it twice to the nissan dealership in Red Deer, they could not diagnose the problem. I was on vacation and called this dealer and had an appt the next day. Wonderful on the phone, I dropped it off early and they figured it out before the scheduled appt and fixed it that day. (it was a cracked serpentine belt) Every clerk in the service dept was professional, friendly, and great to deal with. Gave the car a quick clean which was a bonus since being on a road it can get messy. I'm considering a different manufacturer based on the service I get where I live, too bad they aren't more like this one.

My daughter recently bought her first new vehicle at Nissan Comox Valley. She was talked into a roadside assistance package worth $2200 with Secure Drive. After talking with me she decided to cancel the package and went back up 12 hours after purchasing the car and asked the dealership to cancel the package as apparently the cancellation has to come through the dealership. The financial department at the dealership had her sign papers and said this would be done right away. In the meantime she referred my other daughter to Nissan who also bought a car through them. A $250 referral fee was promised to my 1st daughter for referring her sister. Three weeks and five phone calls later to the sales manager at the dealership, the car salesmen Ashton and Brendon who sold my daughters their cars, a woman in the financing department and the receptionist she has been given the run around each of the five times. Each individual said he/she would look into it and call her back and no one did. Finally my 2nd daughter got in touch with Nissan to see what was going on and my 1st daughter finally recieved a phone call from the financial department and was promised she could pick up the $250 check after 5:00 that same day. After getting her two children ready, one being a small infant and driving to the dealership there was still NO check there for her. She began to now wonder whether Nissan had actually followed through with Secure Drive and cancelled the package. Guess what! It was never cancelled. On top of all that her promised 2nd fob or key has never arrived after 7 weeks. Nissan are a bunch of scam artists who are interested in getting as many $ out of as they can from their customers with no follow up support, and terrible customer service. Their word is worth nothing, they are unreliable and I would not recommend them to anyone. Do yourself a favor and buy a car elsewhere.

I know this because I'm OCD and kept sending him possible matches I found online. I was planning on purchasing a Certified Pre-owned vehicle from this dealership - I was working with Ashton Lommen-Clayton at first, he brought in Brendan Kernaghan to assist after the initial phone call. At first the process was very friendly and enjoyable. I placed a fully refundable deposit on a car I was planning on purchasing. Unfortunately, I chose to go another way and not purchase from this dealerships. After letting them know, things changed drastically. They stopped replying to text messages, and dodging calls. Brendan told me my refund would be processed on Monday after the weekend, and I agreed, I requested they email me a confirmation once it’s been processed, for my records. On Monday I called the dealership as Ashton had stopped replying - and spoke with Jim Barnes the GM. He was surprised to hear that Brendan said my refund would be processed as both him and Ashton were not working. However, Jim assured me it would be processed on Monday after speaking with him. I again requested he send me a confirmation once it’s been done. Tuesday, 3pm, still nothing. I text Ashton and he says it will be processed in 3 business days. That’s unacceptable for me. So I call him and proceeded to argue to get my refund. He kept giving me excuses about how they can say it’ll take up to 15 days if they want and I have to deal with is. I never signed any paperwork with these terms so refuse to accept that. After a bit back and forth he hangs up on me. So I called the reception and spoke with Claire - who has clearly been updated by Ashton that I’m about to call. She’s familiar with the situation and puts me on hold. Only after requesting to file a complaint against Ashton does she mention that she can process the refund for me over the phone. Within 5 minutes she has my refund processed - thank you Claire! I requested to speak with Jim still so he called me about 30 minutes later and heard me out, apologized for the experience, and was understanding as for why I was frustrated. I can’t speak for all the staff at this location - but I’d never work with Ashton or Brendan again, as both will say whatever you need to hear and won’t be around to help when you really need it. TLDR: everything was fine at first. After deciding not to purchase from them - had to fight to get my refundable deposit processed and a terrible experience with Ashton Lommen-Clayton

An older Infiniti was brought into Nissan with an obvious radiator leak. They wanted to charge $65 to make the obvious diagnosis and $883 to fix it. Several other companies estimated, for free, and this estimate is 80% higher than the next highest estimate. Guess they did not get the job. Watch the rip offs. Guess that I would not want to buy a vehicle there either.

I Leased a 2015 Nissan Versa Note, from Comox Valley Nissan and also purchased the extra package for oil changes, services etc. I noticed a problem almost right away with the drivers window not rolling down all the way, took it in and was basically told this could not be fixed but that it really shouldn’t be a huge issue as it was only a small amount that wouldn’t roll down. I didn’t like this response as it was a brand new vehicle and to me it was a big deal. I went to speak with the owner at the time ( amazing customer service from him). I was told my car was a lemon and it was traded in for another of the same vehicle. Since the trade, I have had several issues. First, I was called saying my car was due for an oil change and service. I made an appointment right away as I had paid the extra money for the package when I leased it. When I arrived, I was informed that my extra package I purchased had expired and I would have to pay for my service. I left and took my car elsewhere for the needed oil change. A few months ago, I had to take my car in to have a wheel bearing replaced, my car only had just under 43,000 km at this point. I questioned how this could happen, and was told I must hit a lot of pot holes. Just last week I had to take my car back in to replace the wheel bearing again( the same one). This time that also told me my car needed front brake pads and rotors as well as a brake flush. Apparently my pads were at 2mm and needed done ASAP. Again my car now has only 43,000km. I decided to take my car to a reputable automotive shop to get a second opinion. I was told that my car needed nothing, in fact my pads were at 5mm, my rotors and fluid was also good. I am way beyond frustrated with this situation and I can guarantee when I get that next phone call about trading my vehicle in, my answer will be a big fat NO!! I will definitely going elsewhere to get my next vehicle.

DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM COMOX VALLEY NISSAN!! THEY LIE, LACK EMPATHY AND ONCE YOU PURCHASE THE VEHICLE ALL OF THEIR PROMISES GO UNFULFILLED! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! Where to begin? I bought a 2014 Versa Note in the Fall of 2014. Before buying the vehicle numerous promises were made ensuring that I would be happy with the vehicle and that I would be accommodated when I needed service (As I live in a different town and have to catch the ferries to get to the nearest dealership). The first issue that arose came directly after getting the undercoating put on my Note at the dealership. They assured me they would have no problem applying the coating even though it would be a few weeks before I could have it applied. After I get the undercoating and return home I begin noticing that my car is now squeaking every time it goes over a bump. I have to travel back to get my car inspected ($120 for roundtrip for the ferries alone). They tell me they fixed the problem and that the sway bar needed an adjustment. After I return home I realize the problem wasn’t fixed and that the squeaking is still there. I call them to complain and they tell me I have to go back over so they can look at the EXACT same problem that they claimed they already fixed. I decided to take my Note to a dealership in Vancouver to have the issue looked at as the Comox Valley Dealership was obviously too incompetent to fix the problem. I took my Note to Southside Nissan in South Vancouver. They looked over my vehicle and told me that the problem with my car was the FACT that the UNDERCOATING was all over the place and it looked like someone just set off an undercoating bomb underneath my car. They said that sway bars can’t really be adjusted like Comox Valley Nissan claimed and they needed to replace it because it was covered in undercoating. Southside fixes my car and the squeaking is gone. I get in contact with Comox Valley Nissan and set up an appointment. I’m told that as it was THEIR MISTAKE and that they would send a courtesy car over on the ferries to switch me cars in order to fix it. THEY would return my vehicle when it was fixed. After a few days I receive a phone call from the Manager Brandon and he tells me that I have to go over there and pay for my own costs. I’m Furious at this point and let him know how displeased I am with him and the service that I have been receiving. Brandon says he will get back to me in a FEW DAYS and he will see what he can do. TWO WEEKS go by and I don’t receive any word from them (the first time this happened but not the last). I call them and Brandon who says it’s “his bad” and that he forgot to call me back. The offer of picking up my car is completely rescinded and I’m told that I have to pay for my own trip upfront. They will cover the cost of my trip only if they deem that the undercoating was applied incorrectly. I argue my point to no avail as the “highest rated dealership in Canada for customer satisfaction” LIED to me about fixing my vehicle, RESCINDED their original offer to pick up my vehicle and IGNORED me for two weeks. I reluctantly set up an appointment to get my car looked at. Surprise, surprise they look at it and tell me there is no issue with my undercoating and I’m left to pay for the cost of the trip on my own. So now I have one dealership that was very accommodating (fixed the issue with my car at no cost to me) telling me that I have a serious problem with the undercoating on my vehicle and another dealership who has lied, rescinded offers, and claims that the undercoating they put on was done correctly (even though my SWAY BAR had to be REPLACED because of their repeated mistakes). They called me 2 months ago to check how happy I am with their service. I explain everything that has happened and they tell me it is unacceptable how I have been treated. The worker tells me they would talk to the owner and call me by the end of the day. I haven’t heard back from them and I’m still waiting…

Have tried to deal with them a few times here and there, very pushy. Felt like I was walking around the lot like a bag of money rather than someone just needing a used vehicle. Service seems well, but I do not recommend their sales department at all. My suggestion is try out a few dealerships as I would say you will find way better service elsewhere.

Absolutely despicable service. Twice not once they ordered the wrong part. The second time they were even given a picture of the part and somehow they still ordered the wrong part. something that was supposed to take 3 days has ended up taking over 2 weeks with no offer of any kind of discount or guarantee they could get the part in the next day. They told me maybe one day but had to tell me 3-5. My car is a Nissan and even the Nissan dealership can’t order the right part with a picture of the part. Absolutely despicable. No wonder dealerships have a bad rep. Called me back after they saw the review and and told me they ordered the part after I told them I would order the part from lordco and offered no discount and the price they told me was more than originally discussed. Tried to make it right by being making another sale which they couldn’t get right after two attempts and a picture of their own part...Absolutely despicable service, well played Nissan.
