My first new car purchase was with Courtenay Mazda in 2005 and have since been a regular customer for scheduled service and maintenance. I recently bought a 2019 Mazda 3 at Courtenay Mazda knowing I would receive that same high level of care and professionalism. This time, Barry Davis was my Sales Representative. Barry’s relaxed and easy manner made the entire process enjoyable and pressure-free. He had ready answers to my many questions and was always prompt and courteous. All my interactions with staff were very positive; most notably, Corey, Chantelle, Chad, Karissa, Kyle, Rebekah, Curtis, Heather and the shop technicians who worked to prepare my car in time for delivery. There is a dedicated team at Courtenay Mazda. It's no wonder they receive so many customer service awards. A sincere thank you to all.
We went in to look at a specific used vehicle that we saw online. The salesperson said they needed our address/email/phone number in order to take a test drive, which we questioned and reluctantly gave requesting we not be contacted. Soon after I received a sales call on my voicemail which I did not respond to, the second time they called I was very blunt saying I was not interested in receiving sales calls. I strongly object to companies squeezing out contact details under false pretences and contacting them without, or against their consent.

Up until the minute we walked into Courtney Mazda my husband wanted to replace our 2004 Lexus RX30 with another Lexus. I wasn't convinced that retirement to a small BC coastal community warranted another luxury vehicle. Gaye Williams had been referred to us by friends and she was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful throughout the entire process. After test driving the CX-5 and CX-3 we decided that the CX-5 Grand Touring with Tech package made the most sense for us. The price was what we had expected to pay and the purchase was straightforward. If the customer service continues to be as good as the initial purchase this will be a comparable experience to the type of customer service that we have experienced with Lexus and Mercedes Benz in the past. The entire experience was positive and effortless.

Never in my life have I felt bad about not buying a car from a salesperson. Binas was kind, patient, honest, forthright and businesslike. It was clear he wanted to sell a car, but was never pushy and kept the focus on our requirements and feedback. He explored all our options and if not for a severe lack of inventory due to the pandemic, we would have been happy to purchase from him. We learned a great deal about what Mazda offering worked best for us and if Binas is a barometer of the level of service at Courtenay Mazda, we will be happy to service our new-to-us Mazda there! There really good at making your think your getting a well taken care of car . 6 months after I bought my suv from them thermostat went , water pump went , all in all let’s just say I’m replacing my headgaskets now . Not exactly what I was expecting to have to do a to a vechile I’ve only had 6 months . Don’t really do to much to help you figure out the problems even while under warranty . Stay away from Corey , He couldn’t be bothered to do the job he’s paid to do . Good luck buying your new car.

I recently just purchased a vehicle from Courtenay Mazda. This was my first time purchasing a vehicle from a dealership. Not knowing what to expect, I was worried that I would be placed in a high pressure, no options situation. The opposite was true once I arrived. I was helped out by Binas, who with a big smile and calm attitude, showed me all the features and benefits of the vehicle(s) I was interested in. When needing time to process my options, there was no resistance. I also appreciate the help and knowledge from Logan, who explained my situation and options clearly. In the end, I left with a car that makes me smile (quite a bit). I think the quote I was given over the phone sums up my experience well, "It's not like that here" . Thanks Guys!
Customer bathroom was absolutely disgusting with toilet paper and dirt all over the floors, toilet not cleaned in days. Sales people looked like they had been wearing the same dress clothes for days on end. Coffee area was a mess, no coffee available, mini fridge full of half used sauces. Little more professional appearance from employees and hiring someone to clean the place would be nice. There seems to be a real lack of pride in the cleanliness of this location. It should be spotless on a Saturday morning at opening time. Sadly would not come back for any maintenance here.

Binas was really pleasant to work with when we had to replace my much beloved car with a "newer" used to car. I went from a 2002 to a 2014. Binas communicated with us in advance about the cars we were interested in, listened closely to all our feedback about our test drives, and helped us quickly get me in my 'new to me' car. We're really happy with our experience - we chatted with multiple staff there during the morning and everyone was helpful and friendly. Will be back the next time we need to upgrade! :-)
I found the service department not very friendly. For starters, they think old people are deaf; for seconds they are not that helpful. Both my husband and I mentioned, at different times, that we had trouble closing the rear hatch door. We were both told there was no problem; just slam a little harder....this to a person who is 5'2" and has issues reaching the handle anyway. A flat tire was another problem....but you don't need the details. Anyway, I found the service lacking.
We did not intend on purchasing a new vehicle. We actually went to enquire as to "how to break a lease" (which I will never, ever , do again! ((Huge Rip Off)) However, our lease was through the westcoast motor group on the lower mainland. And since we live on the island we were fulfilling our agreement for servicing at Courtenay Mazda. What a GREAT Bunch of proffesionals!!! They helped us out of the lease through absorbing the lease Buyout into the purchase and trade in value on a new car. How often will you see an Assistant Sales Manager Take off his suit Jacket and roll up his sleaves to personally detail the car because their detailer went home sick that day? Mr. Mike Milne and all the team there went way above and beyond that day to ensure we had a great experience, and to do everything possible to help us out. You guys are truly proffessionals.... Thank You!

Was looking at buying a car in April and gave permission for a credit check. The deal wasn't going to work and told them so. They asked if I would be interested in a different car from them and I said no. I hadn't spoken to anyone since. Then in June I receive a phone call from a sales person as well as a finance person. I ignored both as I wasn't interested. I then received a text from Logan ("finance specialist") asking if I was still interested in buying a car from them and that they have some great deals. I ignored that text as well. However, later on that evening I received an alert from Equifax stating that a credit inquiry had been made from the dealership. I never gave permission for them to do a credit check - and hadn't spoke to anyone in two months. At that point, I texted Logan back and said I am not looking to purchase a vehicle and asked him why he would run a credit check on me when I haven't spoken to anyone at the dealership in over two months; I didn't authorize him to do a credit inquiry. He tried to say there was miscommunication - bs. How can there be when it's been over two months with no contact. He was dismissive and rude and said "I was just trying to help out". I informed him he was missing the point as I never authorized him to do it, and he should know that every inquiry on your credit affects your credit score. Based on his behaviour and dismissive response, I informed him that when I am looking to buy another vehicle it will not be through this dealership. His response was no response. The next day I contacted the dealership directly to speak to management and discuss my concerns. I never received a response. Called again, left another message - still no response. It has been 5 days and no one has contacted me. I just got off the phone with Equifax and filed a dispute. Pretty shady business practices on behalf of Logan in the first instance, followed by management for not returning my call or addressing my concerns. Equifax can now deal with them.
These guys have been conning and disappointing me for 5 years. I foolishly keep giving them the benefit of the doubt. I want so much to believe them but it is always lies. From the sale of a hugely overpriced brand new vehicle sold through manipulation and heavy pressure tactics, to servicing mess ups, to flat out lies about wanting our vehicle as trade in and wasting hours of our time, to not giving an inch on a used vehicle only to drop the price to within our offer a week later, these guys aren't here to help you, they pressure you and fleece you for all you're worth. Don't trust them, don't degrade yourself by giving them your business. They are dishonest, despite being very "charming". I think I've finally learned my lesson. No more Courtenay Mazda.
A long story but in short, not helpful at all with my Mazda cause I did not buy it there. Charge lots for minor service, do not follow up in a timely manner, not helpful. Last visit I wanted to buy a used truck. They would not offer me much on trade in for my Mazda and said I need to pay for an inspection on compression. Made an excuse about compression not being quite good enough. When I needed advise on my Mazda stalling and how to fix they would not tell me anything and insisted I tow it in about 15 miles. I ended up buying a truck from Cowichan Valley Autos (they are always a pleasure to deal with) and I see the used truck I wanted at the Mazda Courtenay is still sitting there on the lot. I am happy with my new truck from CVA.

I was in to Courtenay Mazda recently, and it had to be the best dealership service I've ever received. Binaz was a super great guy to talk to, not pushy and had all of the information I was looking for. The best part was, how he handled me not going through with buying a car. After thinking about the uncertainty of the times, I realized it wasn't the right time for me. He was nice right through to the end. I know I'll be back when it's the right time.

Below is my original review. I am updating my review out of fairness to this dealership. Since having this problem several years ago, the dealership is now under new ownership. Also, the parts person we had a problem with has also since left.
I am rating a 3/5 stars for now, as I do not have any experiences with this dealership since the incident. I have however, ordered some parts recently since lifting my personal boycott. If my experience is a good one this time around I will increase my rating once again.

If you want a stress free car buying experience go to Courtenay Mazda I went in 8 months ago and after 20 years of continuously being denied loans the staff at Mazda got me into a nice Vehicle and I have just traded up last week into a newer model. From the lady at the customer service desk which i can not remember her name to the sales team and the finance department they greet you with a smile and work with you. No pushy sales tactics friendly staff and a real all around great experience. Barry The Bear will work hard to find what your looking for. Logan and Chantel are the people to talk with for getting you financed even for people with credit issues they will work hard to get a deal done.

I am from the mainland and my fiancee works at the military base there in Comox. He was driving by and saw the 2011 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 sitting in their lot as we were on the phone together (hands free, of course :)). The following day he went to take a look at it and dealt with Mike Milne. After his initial once over and test driving, I called Mike later in the day and asked him a billion questions as I was on the mainland. He was very very helpful and answered most of the questions I threw at him. The ones he didn't know the answer to at the time he followed up with me afterwards! It was great dealing with Mike and it was all over the phone. Everything was handled before the end of the day and I had pretty much bought myself a car. Then I finally met him and Chad (who was an awesome financial guru) when I came over a few days later to make the car mine and drive it happily back to the mainland the same day! Their mobile insurance broker, Charlene, was great as well!
Very happy with the buying experience here. All of the staff we worked with were pleasant and helpful. They were fair in negotiations and we're very happy with the final deal. We bought a used Subaru from Mike Milne, he had the car all ready for a test drive when we arrived after calling earlier that day. He didn't try to up-sell or sway us in any way, very refreshing. He made sure we were completely happy with the vehicle before we signed for it, even offering to repair an issue we found after a test drive. The service department was great also, very communicative about repair timelines. I would buy again from them with confidence.

We sold our Mazda several months ago but still get annoying phone calls and text messages from Mazda telling us our car is overdue for servicing. We have contacted the front desk about this and they said it would stop but it hasn't. If I could give no stars I would.

As a long time former manager in several car dealerships, I was interested to see if this dealership would meet my rather high expectations and, once I had Chantelle working with me, things went very smoothly and met those expectations. Chantelle is friendly, knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. General Manager Corey Sawchuk and Finance Manager Chad Johnston were also very professional and a pleasure to work with on my vehicle purchase. This October I enquired about a vehicle with Binas and I could not be more satisfied. He was extremely helpful, very informative & friendly and I never felt any type of pressure as you normally do walking into an unfamiliar sales environment. I would definitely recommend this dealer, and Binas to all of my family & associates.
Went in to have my brake fixed. Car was in the shop 3 times for the same problem. The first time I was told it was a caliper issue. The second time I was told the mechanic inserted a broken caliper. The third time I was told that my auxilary brake broke down between the 2nd and 3rd time in the shop. This is not the case , as it broke down 6years ago.and I have an invoice from mazda to prove it. I was quoted $4000 to fix a problem , which had nothing to do with the brake problem I came in for. In addition I was given a european check up for 600 plus dollars which I did not ask for. It was simply done. Mazda has $2000 of mine and I still do not have a brake. My head is spinning how boldly I was lied to.
Second vehicle from Courtenay Mazda and Mike. We see no reason to shop elsewhere. From sales to service it is consistently top notch. Always professional, always cheery, always willing to go the extra bit to ensure we are happy. BTW the vehicles aren't to shabby either! lol, For us it is like family...that's how comfortable we feel. Even our daughter is a customer. Trust in the product and trust in staff makes every trip into Courtenay Mazda a great experience. Yes, they take your money but so does everyone. They, just do it with class. Mike is probably the most knowledgeable sales rep (in our view) on this Island so why would we want to visit another dealer?

Came in yesterday from Port Alberni to look at a specific car. Binas was knowledgable with the vehicle and super friendly. When speaking with the finance manager (Mike maybe? I can't remember), he was also very pleasant and although he couldn't lower the price due to it just being reduced, I decided to go with the purchase anyways because the car was extremely clean and I had inspection paper proof provided by Binas to me. I was able to do my insurance right there with Shar and again - a really good experience. The entire transaction was quick and I felt everyone was attentive and knowledgable. Would recommend especially if you are unsure about vehicles - they have answers to your questions!

Here is my experience with courtenay mazda, I think this needs to he addressed considering this is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. My girlfriend bought a car from them, Berry was her sales man. Upon buying the car Berry told us that the car is in tip top condition and is ready to drive so she bought it. Little did we know we were in for a car malfunction roller coaster.... about a week after buying the car the check engine light came on so with courtenay mazdas "GUARENTEED 90 DAY WARRENTY" we went back to the dealership to find out the issue I went out with the service desk lady to plug the code reader into the car to find out what is wrong, not only did she CLEAR THE CODES but also told us the car was fine and had nothing wrong with it. After we drive away only 5 minutes later the engine light returns, so we took the car back again and told them there is still an issue. We sat down with chantel "the sales manager" which we had to sit and wait for 2hrs after she initially told us to meet with her. While we were waiting Berry walked by us and and said "still having problems with the car? That sucks." In a sarcastic voice which really should never happen in a place of buisness. After we finally got to sit down and meet with chantel she told us that they cant do anything to fix the car but that she would fix it and pay for it out of her own pocket and goodwill. I dont know what dealership let's there employees pay for car repairs but I know that she never actually did cause that's rediculas. She then told us this convorsation is over and told us to leave the dealership. It has now been 4 months with the SUV and now the transfer case has started to go, I hope people see this and learn from our mistake of going to courtenay mazda there is somthing going on there and nobody to bring justice to this issue. This isnt the first time I've heard of somthing like this happening at courtenay mazda my friend bought a like new dodge avenger and the motor blew up within a couple weeks of owning the car luckily he fought them and fought them on it and he got full trade in value at another dealership and got mazda to pay for the new blown up engine which costed them approximately $14,000 BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN be careful even this valley has some not so nice people there is a list of problems that I havnt listed with the car but I will most likely update on the issue if they decide to honor the warranty they told us we got on my girlfriends car I will keep fighting this till it is resolved. Way to go mazda you ruined another first dealership experience for a young person wish I had gone somewhere else.

Not impressed with my experience. I found a used vehicle online and went and saw that day. Was told they were waiting on a part before they even let me test drive. Email the dealership on Friday to get an update. The part was in and was waiting for them to fix it. I got called on falling Monday asking if I could come in that day. I couldn't since I was at work and said I could pick it up on Tuesday. Made an appointment at 930am. Very excited! Then I got another phone call just at 5 and was told that there was no point in coming since they had just sold it. I was never given an opportunity to make an offer. Will not be recommending or purchasing from Courtenay Mazda 0 /5 stars
I had an absolutely marvelous experience with Courtenay Mazda. I saw the car I wanted online and was meeting with Mike and Chad the very next day. The whole team, Chad, Mike, Thomas, Logan, and Chad (to name the ones I worked with directly), were helpful and kind and got me the financing I needed to take the car home. I bought a 2015 pre-owned Mazda here with undisclosed body damage.
I only saw the damage after getting the vehicle home.
They also had a $400 tire/road hazard warranty (basically just nitrogen in the tires) added to the bill without my knowledge.
Most dealers will review the items on the sales agreement before asking you to sign it, but not here.
Best car dealership I have ever dealt with! I came in with TERRIBLE CREDIT...Barry and Logan both worked their butts off to get me approved for a loan! And they did..that was over a year ago and I was just back today to get into something for my growing family...BANG ..driving home with a new 2017 caravan!

After browsing Courtenay Mazda's used car listings and finding a vehicle I was interested in, I submitted my details. I received a pleasant email message from Chantelle letting me know I could contact her with any questions I might have. I stopped in at the dealership shortly thereafter to find out more about the vehicle and take it for a test drive. Chantelle was patient, informative, and easy to talk to. We took a look at the inspection report for the car -- which was surprisingly thorough given the vehicle was an older model with an asking price under $5000. After driving the car, I realized it wasn't the one for me. I'd noticed a couple of other cars that were of interest and Chantelle was happy to show me the inspection reports for those to help me compare. I was impressed again with the amount of information provided and decided to take a 2005 Mazda 3 GT hatchback for a test drive. This was a well sorted example with low mileage and a sharp asking price. I was surprised and pleased to learn that the dealer documentation fee was included in this price. Chantelle was able to tell me everything I needed to know about the car and it was clear she has a great deal of practical knowledge and experience. When I decided I wanted to purchase the car, she introduced me to Chad, who made the formalities of buying the car a breeze. Chad was also very personable and easy for me to talk to. He let me know about extended warranty and other options. I didn't feel pressured to spend money on extras. I could see the value for me in the warranty and pre-paid oil changes promotion. I'm glad he informed me about them, and I was happy to spend a little extra to get a lot of value. I've had the car a few days and I'm thrilled with it. Chantelle even followed up to make sure I'm happy with everything. I thought that was a nice touch. My whole experience has been positive and it's clear that Courtenay Mazda does things differently from what people might expect. It's refreshing.
Wasted my time, brought me in to look at a used car. they downplayed that the previous owner was a smoker and that the car didn't smell that bad as well as "minor" body damage. I get there, it smelled like a tobacco factory and the damage was much worse than anticipated. On top of that the salesman knew nothing about the car, as soon as he knew he lost me he brought in his cheeseball manager who sealed the deal on me never return. Bush league sales team. Stay away.

I Went and looked at it on a Sunday when I knew there would be no salesmen around. Binas contacted me a few days later and asked if I would like to test drive a few of my choices. I consider Mike Milne a trusted friend who makes me feel good just being in his presence having a chat and even better when we reach a deal about a new car. I recently purchased a new CX-5 with Mike as my salesman and I love the car and it works well - as one would expect with a Mazda. Anyway, I came to my dealership (Courtenay Mazda) about a weird occasional judder which Service started to investigate but didn't seem to understand. Mike appeared on the scene and I told him what I as concerned about. Well, Mike got into the driver's seat, adjusted some dashboard controls and fixed the problem. (It was the lane-change warning.) I felt so damn good about having that worry eliminated and even happier that Mike is my guy at Courtenay Mazda.

I am amazed at the top notch service of this dealership. I went in knowing exactly which vehicle I wanted and my price range. I had the most amazing salesman named Cap, who listened to what I wanted, never once pushed me into something I didnt want. I had taken my vehicle to the service department because a light on the dashboard came on and the fellow at the service department was great.( red hair and beard..sorry I didnt get his name) No charge for diagnostics..they took my car to be washed and vacuumed and even got a box of chocolates !! I didn't put any feedback 1st two time and today is my 3rd experience with them they said every time they clean and vacuum but car inside is always came back dirty. I have other car mazda 3 for the service I go to kean auto they don't promise any cleaning but still every time I got my car back like new out of showroom but Mazada courtenay charged for that for whole year and still not doing their job right.
This year and because cars have changed immensely since I purchased my last car, I decided to visit 3 dealerships and look at their Compact SUVs. Was disappointed in the first two and as a result, did not know what to expect from the third one which was the Courtenay Mazda dealership. I made an appointment with Mike Milne to discuss the purchase of a Compact SUV. As soon as I walked into Mike’s office, I knew I was dealing with a knowledgeable professional who sincerely wanted to match my "wants and needs" with the right vehicle. He had answers for all my questions & concerns and knows Mazda vehicles at all levels, the plant where they are manufactured and assembled, the technicals aspects involved in the assembly, the components, etc… He patiently explained all the new features, especially the electronics, which were new to me, in full details, and accompanied me on the trial drive to further explain the performance of the car. Although my intentions were to wait until after the Holiday Season, I felt confident in closing the deal and proudly drove away with a new 2021 Mazda CX-5 on December 14. Would I recommend Courtenay Mazda? Yes I would. Would I recommend Mike Milne? Especially and Absolutely!

Terrible totally a USED car sales mentality up charge, up charge and NOT provide what they charged you 400.00 extra for!! if they say your getting NITRO.... say NO!! its a total Lie! when i brought it to their attention. nothing was done, just said Oh hmmmm. but no money given back for charging for something they didnt provide. shady sales!! go anywhere but here! :( they call daily harassing me to come in for oiI change no matter how many times i tell them to STOP calling im aware! im just getting rid of my vehicle and buying brand new else where, so i dont have ever deal with this place again.
I can't say enough about the quality of service, particularly from the Parts and Service department. They have been very helpful assisting me with my older Mazda. 5 Star Service indeed!

The service department is excellent. I made the mistake of waiting for my next service date to have an issue diagnosed. I unknowingly left it to a few days AFTER my warranty expired. Rebekah went to bat for me and got the issue taken care under warranty anyways. I really appreciate that level of service.
If you plan to buy here be sure to double check your contract. I was a first time buyer, was taken advantage of. Found out recently I had an 84/60 contract. After 60 months, I owed the last 24 months up front. The dealership did not clarify or be sure I understood this before hand. I do not recommend purchasing a vehicle here.

We drove up from Sidney BC to look at a few of the cars Courtenay Mazda had on their lot. We did not have an appointment as we were not quite sure what time we would arrive. We had gotten some information from Gaye via email the day before. When we arrived, Gaye greeted us warmly, but had to rush off to another couple who had booked an appointment, but not before she made arrangements with Barry to assist us. We test drove a Mazda3 Sport with low profile wheels and a CX-5. I did not feel comfortable with the low profile car, so we tested out one without them. WOW. But, we wanted the first car that we drove as it had a few more options, so they looked into different tires that could be put on. We suggested just swapping the wheels from one car to the other, and PRESTO, it was done. Barry has a wonderful sense of humour, and he made us feel right at home and at ease. At no time was there any pressure put upon us which we have experienced at other dealerships. Barry was very patient with us when going over the options in the car - most of which we had never had before, and Barry, this one is for you -we are so, so pleased to be driving something from the 21st century! Thank you also to Zach for making such delicious popcorn. We definitely would recommend Courtenay Mazda if you are looking for a no hassle, no pressure, enjoyable car purchasing experience!

Bought a pre owned vehicle from them and it broke down after only 29km. They tell me that there is burnt out ignition coil and the battery is completely toast. They replaced the coil free of charge but because the battery was marked "yellow" on the inspection they wouldnt stand behind it. Their sales manager even suggested that perhaps I caused it by leaving a cabin light on which is insulting at best. So if I didnt want to pay the outrageous quote, they could roll my vehicle into the parking lot for me. It was dark, raining, and I had to walk to Costco to buy a new battery and walk to home depot to buy tools to change it myself. Now a week later my brakes that they assessed as "green" and told me that they replaced, have failed. I almost caused an accident, as I went into a red light intersection because when I pushed my brakes they violently pulsed with a loud clunking and didnt stop the vehicle. I was nearly T-boned. I spoke with the principle dealer about my recent experience and current dilemma about not wanting to bring it back there for servicing. He expressed that he feels as though they have stood behind their product effectively and because I didnt purchase their extended warrenty the issue with the brakes probably wont be covered, but I can bring it into a different shop at my own cost. So I am now out $7000 and am the proud owner of a sketchy unsafe vehicle. I thought that this dealership was reputable and I deeply regret purchasing a vehicle from them, so please keep this customer service in mind. (Update- Mazda did eventually come good on the repairs that should have been done before the vehicle was sold).
I drifted onto this lot last August 2019. Was nicely greeted by Binas Kott. I was looking for an update to my 2000 minivan. He sat down with myself and my husband and narrowed down our want to a suv. 2015 Honda sante fe. They served coffee, popcorn for my kids. They were absolutely fabulous. I would never buy a car anywheres else, when you have Binas at Courtney mazda. Ample seating. Television if thats your thing. Setvice with a smile always here. Thank you Binas and Courtney mazda.... although my second time around, they mentioned they'd call me the next day.... Binas wasn't even in the carlot with no follow through.... September 25, 2020... Just seems slow and felt pretty unimportant waiting for the upgrade and loan process to follow through. They made us seem like we were wasting our time so far. Were at the end of the buisness day on day 2 and communications were poor. With the first sale it was awesome. This second time around, not so much. This may or may not change. Guess we will see. I feel like backing out on the upgrade but my credit score has dropped because of the credit check with the attemped purchase of the upgrade so I dont really want to try somewheres else and lower my score more by another application with a different company. I felt so loyal and dedicated to this dealership. But I might be having doubts and second thoughts. andif your reading this, keep an eye on the update.
Mike was really helpful and gladly showed me as many vehilces and options as my heart desired. My old car wasn't worth much but Mazda Mike made it easy to get maximum value for it which was also something that was never offered at any other store.

I visited Courtenay Mazda on a big day, their celebration sales event on Aug. 26th. I was interested in a couple of the used Mazda 3s but also open to other options. Zach met me at the door and proceeded to come along for the test drive process. At no point did I feel undue pressure to buy a car that day but instead I received a $50 gasoline voucher just for test driving a vehicle. Zach listened to me to help me work out what type of vehicle would suit my purposes. He suggested various other models on the lot and was willing to do the research to tell me more about them. In the end, I did not purchase a vehicle from him, but I certainly would recommend dealing with Zach at Courtenay Mazda.
After looking at some used cars on their website, we went in to talk to someone in person. Chris offered to help and took us out to look at some of their cars and answered our questions. He is fairly new there and when we wanted to know something, if he wasn't immediately sure he found out right away for us. Quite personable and friendly. We're still thinking things over but we had a pleasant time being shown around. Highly recommend.

Horrible customer service, quick to dismiss concerns or liability only days after purchase, wouldn't let the mechanics touch my lawnmower. When the car failed to start or run reliably for more then several hours, the mechanic was nice enough to " roll.it into the parking lot so you can deal.with it yourself".. in the rain . Lemons. And they know it. In this small community word of mouth is everything!! ...

Use to get great service now it seems to of gone downhill. After an oil change before covid happen they would barely wash and vacuum my car I get it you get too busy or don't have someone to do it but at least say that first. And when I get done it was pretty bad. Probably won't be back. Also my father in law had an equally as bad experience.

This dealership doesn't feel like a typical dealership, it feels more like a club house, everyone is always great too deal with and have always been very professional. After an oil change when I get my vehicle back it's cleaned inside and outside at no extra charge. Always my first choice for service

I just bought my first car from courtenay Mazda this week. Binas was very helpful and friendly he’s a very hard worker and I was very impressed with the service. I drove up from Victoria and they gave me a good deal on the car. They answered all of my questions and and made sure I was happy.

Unfortunately, I was in the market for a new used vehicle due to unforeseen circumstances and I decided to check out the car lots up the hill. I got to see a big selection in a short span of time and didn't know what to do. There are so many choices. Mike really listened to me and brought me to the vehicle that is now in my driveway. First off I want to say that the salesmen at this dealership are great. Happy and helpful found us a good deal on what we were in the market for. But when it came down to the owner of the business we defiantly did not felt appreciated. We had already been approved with a third party financing and because we had found a good deal on one of their used vehicles, he was not making a big buck off of us. Because our financing was from out of province we had to get an out of province inspection which the dealership charged us for even though they were well aware that the vehicle had never physically left the lot. Can you say cash grab. Once we had left the lot the vehicle was taken straight to speedy glass to get a couple chips filled in the windshield. Once there we were informed there was a crack in the windshield (hidden at the bottom) and the whole thing would need to be replaced. We called Mazda and they informed us they would not be fixing it. Because the paper trail led back to our financier they were no longer responsible. Even though they should not have been selling a vehicle with a faulty windshield in the first place. So if you get duped into paying top dollar for a brand new vehicle and get your financing through them so they can make you pretty penny off of you then maybe you will leave with a smile getting the customer service you expect from a reputable dealership. But if you are buying used or paying full in cash ...buyer beware. We did find a good deal on a vehicle but in the end our business was not felt appreciated.

Trying to help my daughter get a car. She did not qualify for financing by herself or with me. Got an approval for myself but have waited 5 weeks for them to get a car. Repeated texts and phone calls have failed to make any headway. Took my daughter to another Mazda Dealer ship and we went from applying for financing to a car with HER on the loan in less than 3 hours. Will NEVER go back to Courtenay Mazda.

Courtenay Mazda is a great place to get a car! I've been looking for a long time and noticed they are very sharp with their pricing. More so than most of the other dealers and I've looked at many! The approach by my salesman Mike was laid back and easy going. Even though I spent many months searching I felt Mike was consistently patient and accommodating without ever feeling the pressure of making a quick sale. I decided to proceed when i felt the time was right and I only wish I just made the decision a little sooner so that I could've been enjoying my new car for that much longer.
