Save your money, and go somewhere else!! Took my truck in to be diagnosed for an automatic trans problem, which cost me $250.00 to diagnose. And an estimate of $1420.00 to repair the transmission. ($700.00 in parts and $520.00 in labour) Took it to Wades Auto Works for a second opinion (didn't tell them that I'd taken it elsewhere first), I drove away after paying $225.00 which included a $75.00 part and all is good. That same part at courtenay auto center -$291.00 Did courtenay auto repair center misdiagnose? I believe they did and so does the other repair shop. That's my story, it's your choice, your money!

Well I heard a noise and had them look at it . After they had my car that's when the mood changed . The Technician was explaining and showing me what he found . Then I said alright thanks please put it together for me and give me a quote . The Technician look at me and then look at the lady who owns the placw and said what do you want to do . I was shocked , she said pay us for looking at it which I agreed to before and after .Once I paid then the Technician proceeded to put my tires back on . I felt very uncomfortable and is why iam writing a review . If you like gangsters and druggy's working on your car then go ahead . My self I was lucky for 120 bucks I got off lucky . I suggest anywhere but that place .

Hands down the best shop in Courtenay. We've been there a few times due to truck breakdowns and repair, and have been treated incredibly well! Tim in the office is upfront, honest, and always seems to have a good source on parts. The prices are quite reasonable and quotes are accurate. I highly recommend Courtenay Automotive if you have any truck repair needs. I live in Ucuelet now and still bring my truck here!

Had two codes on my Nissan X-trail. Shop recommended smoke test to find vacuum leak. I had a second look and found a loose clamp next to the throttle body which fixed the problem. Code P507 indicated problem with idle air control. Tech told me my Nissan is running so lean it would melt the pistons. Went to another shop and they did a relearn on the throttle body which brought my surging rpms at idle back to stable numbers of 800. Tech at Courtenay Automotive Repair Centre told me my cheap code reader would most likely read false codes. How wrong he was. Codes were right on the money! You'll be the judge!

Parked at a bad angle the other day and scraped the bottom of my van, found out later that a whole panel of plastic had fallen apart. Went in to ask, no appointment, and was told "Sure, we'll take a look in a few minutes" and so I left the vehicle there and took my little one for a walk, come back and everything's good to go. And then... they didn't even charge me, ANYTHING! Truly redefining how business can be done. Wishing you all the very best! Thanks!

I had a friend go to this shop once so I figured I would try them myself. I went there on multiple occasions, each time the main issue I asked to be addressed was entirely ignored and needed to be reminded many times. I thought each time I had a rough experience there it had just been a rough week, or they were perhaps busier than usual. (Me and my optimism getting the best of me.) I wanted to establish a relationship with one auto shop in town (for simplicity instead of many shops) that could maintain all my vehicles so I figured I would keep going there. The service will get better right? Wrong. After many visits and always getting treated in the same harsh manner I have come to the conclusion that this is normal. I am a exceedingly patient and forgiving individual, but they wore me out. I am not pleased and will never return there. Poor service and harsh treatment is all I ever got. They could have at least fixed my vehicle. The front desk lady is always very distracted, disorganized and has a tendency to continually shuffle papers left right and centre looking franticly for something she lost. New management would be a good start to improve this establishment.
