My wife purchased a 2010 2.0L Turbo from them brand new in 2010. The engine gave us nothing but troubles from the start. They had it apart for 2 1/2 months at times fixing it. Michael in their service department was great. He learned as much as he could about the inherent issues with this motor and tried to fix it each time. He did the best with a piece of garbage. My wife recently took it back there to be looked at when it was having issues and VW in Victoria said "nothing was wrong with it". He diagnosed the issue right away and gave my wife the following choices. 1. Wait in Courtenay while they ordered the parts and pay $3500 to get it fixed. 2. Trade it in on a new car. 3. Sign a waiver acknowledging that it was "unsafe to drive" and VW had no liability if something happened on the way home. (oh and your insurance may not be valid if you drive it off the lot.) Extremely poor product from the outset; will never buy another VW as long as I live. Good service in Courtenay from Michael, given the garbage he had to work with, but very heavy handed in terms of their treatment of a loyal customer who had to put up with their garbage product and incompetent service department in Victoria.

I purchased a VW Jetta back in 2008 and have been taking it to Comox Valley VW ever since for my servicing and repair needs. They have always looked after me and I have always been a very happy customer. Well it was time to get a newer car for us so I sold mine privately. I purchased another VW Jetta a 2013 TDI in large part because I like the TDI but also because I know that I will continue to get great service from there VW Team there.

We got a fantastic deal on our new 2018 Beetle Coast Edition. This is my wife's dream car and she is over the moon with it. Absoloutly horrendous service by this dealership. I contacted Jasson by cellphone through an ad on craigslist for a 2007 fj cruiser. After we agreed on a price and I was told my travel fees would be covered to come over from abbotsford to pick up the vehicle on the island (Ferries, gas, ect.). When we got there everything was fine or so it seems, did a test drive but was told to turn back around the the dealership after not much more than 5 minutes. A little strange but as a 19 year old kid buying his first newer vehicle I didnt think anything of it. When we returned to the dealership i had decided id like to purchase the truck and started getting the loan and all my paper work in order. As we were doing that jasson left to fill up the gas tank for the FJ, when he returned I asked his about the travel fees and he tried to tell me filling up the tank for the FJ was the "gas money" they promised and my ferry trips would be reimbursed later on via a cheque in the email. I wasnt very happy with this but let it slide as the ferry trips were the most expensive part. After the paper work was finished I was basically forced to do a review for them and they told me I had to put all 10's down on the sheet and I was required to give them a good facebook review. I really wish I could but after they sent me home it came to my attention their insurance lady who was never introduced to me, never transfered the vehicle over into my name and instead only insured the vehicle for a day permit and sent me home. When I was home I was unable to drive for 3 weeks and the sales manager David actually had the audacity to tell me I LOST THE PAPERWORK that was NEVER GIVEN TO ME. I told them to send over the transfer papers and registration ASAP as the car was never transfered into my name. They ended up sending over the wrong transfer papers, and gave me all the information of the previous owner of the vehicle by doing this. Then they sent over another package with the wrong papers again forcing me to wait another weekend before driving my new vehicle. At this point I was pretty pissed but once it was all over I was happy with my vehicle. Or at least I thought I was, i discovered quite a bit of rust on the vehicle; i had asked for a carproof before I had even come to view the car and it was not sent to me or shown to me until after I was at home with the wrong transfer papers (because they sent me home with all the wrong paperwork when i asked for the carproof multiple times) turns out the car was in alberta and ontario all its life and has tons of corrosion all over it. Also i was promised by multiple people if there was any issues with the car they would fix them for me no questions asked as long as it was within a reasonable time of purchasing. But everyone there refused to give me anything in writing. Despite me asking multiple times. Until I get my rear differential leak fixed and I get my cheque in the mail for my ferry trips i advise anyone reading this review to avoid this entire set of dealerships at all costs.

So I was really interested in buying a vehicle here. I found the perfect vehicle and took it out for a test drive and everything was great. I put a $500 deposit in order to hold the vehicle until the next day. I come to find out that the vehicle had to have a safety inspection and it was just an all-around terrible experience. It's too bad because I actually wanted that SUV. My question is this: why sell a vehicle and let people test drive it before its had a safety inspection?

As I was a little hesitant moving into a Volkswagen, the team at Comox Valley Volkswagen really made the buying, and ownership a really enjoyable experience. After dealing with every other dealership in town I have to say they went above and beyond. I have been to 30+ dealerships ranging from Ontario to BC, and this experience by far exceeded my expectations. It's not too often that the owner is so active in the day to day sales as it is with this dealership. We brought our vehicle in right after we disembarked the ferry and our Tiguan started to mis-fire when accelerating. The service team was amazing! Not only did they take our vehicle in immediately, but they put up with our rowdy 13 month old. They generously helped in the price, and since the repair was unexpectedly, this tremendously helped our small family. The cherry on top was the complimentary car wash that took a layer of bugs off from our recent road trip… Thank you for your kindness and efficiency. I went to comox valley Volkswagen with an old VW. Without any hesitation or reluctance they welcomed my vehicle and took a look to see what they could do. Because of the age, parts are very difficult to come by. They provided me with multiple options I could choose to correct my issue, even an option of who they recommend to contact if I choose not to go through them. Aug/21. Bought a Jetta in 2016 from this dealership and was trying to be a repeat customer and had a deal for a used car with Graham the sales person and Jon the sales manager. The car wasn’t put through the shop before they put it up for sale. They were trying to get me to buy the car without an inspection but I negotiated an inspection into the price of the car. Jon and I shook on the deal, I put a deposit on the car (cash deal) and we both signed the paperwork with no conditions that the price may change if something is wrong with the car. Graham the sales person explained to me on our drive that anything in the inspection would be fixed, I have texts to prove this. Within the next couple days I get a call from Jon saying the head gasket was blown and quoted me $1500 for the job and expected me to pay for it. I denied to pay for it cause that’s supossed to be part of the deal and the reason why I negotiated inspection into the deal. I tried to resolve issue with graham and he answered with a list of excuses and then ignored me once I asked how to fix the issue. The price of the car when I negotiated was $10,995 msrp. Once it went through the shop they have it up for sale now for $11,995 msrp. I commented respectfully on there public post on Facebook and they deleted the comment. Very shady. Stay clear of this dealership.

Good purchase experience, parts dept helpful, but really review every aspect of their service "packages" our Jetta 30k service was $500!' for a fluffed up oil change ! It was presented as necessary for keeping the warranty valid, but reviewing the bill there was an engine flush, and fuel system flush that I would have not agreed to, and IS NOT recommended by VW, also the air filter was changed, which the maintenance table requires it at 90k, not 30k. I believe the techs are good, just make sure YOU decide what will be done based on the periodic service chart in your owners manual, don't just agree to "the 30k service" as we did. For Comparison, My f150 Ford is usually $68 at the Ford dealer, and as a reward every 5th service is no charge.

I can only comment on service and not sales as I purchased my VW at another dealership. Service is very disappointing. Slow to return calls, if at all. No updates from service once they have your car in...you have to keep calling them to get information on the diagnostics, solutions, ETA, etc. Most times I cannot get a person on the other end of the phone. Unreasonable length of time they have your vehicle for a simple task like an oil change. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait some more. I've been patient and reasonable and given this dealership several chances but at this point, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

I drove down from Victoria to test drive some used cars on the lot, however I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience dealing with Comox Valley Volkswagen. I loved the car I test drove and put a deposit on as I was told that another couple was going to be test driving it, the car had a roof leak and fairly extensive staining - I was told that it would not be a quick fix and they were unsure of when they would be able to fix it. I could have purchased and drove back down to pick it up. However they had no flexibility in pricing and weren't even willing to deliver the car when it did get fixed. I found Jon extremely poor to deal with as he does not listen and is less then enthusiastic on delivering any kind of customer service. I will be purchasing my next car elsewhere and would not recommend to anyone I know.

I have to give this dealership a well earned 5 star for all the hard work and effort they put forth with the recent purchase of my VW GTI. Although there were a few minor hiccups, (I lend that to the fact that I had travelled from Alberta and did the deal solely through email and phone calls), everyone that I dealt with was excellent! Kathy, David, Nicky, Mike, Char and all the service department! A huge high 5 to all of you! They went above and beyond my expectations and I can't express how grateful I am that I was treated so well.

We bought two cars from them, most of the staff were very friendly. I had a very poor experience at the last place I purchased a car from, they worked hard to make sure this time was a good one. I'd give them 5 stars but the one gentleman got a bit frazzled and defensive when I inquired as to why I should purchase a volkswagen over one of the competitors which were reviewed better. I will say he's very passionate about his cars, though he didn't get a bit too passionate at one point, very good experience overall though. I would go back and fully intend to go back for next vehicle. I've been very impressed with the new Jetta I'm driving, it's a very smooth ride and gets much better fuel economy that what they told me. It calls for 40MPG on the highway, I routinely get over 53MPG driving to Bowser and back everyday, doing 85km/h on the old highway, I've been very impressed.

Very unusual experience - learned details about my van that did not agree to what the sales people told me - Used vehicle Manager would not tell the story behind the van. Front window had been tampered with & had to do an extra safety mechanical examination of the vehicle. People behaved frightened when I made inquiries about the Van. Did not contact me about my promised follow up check up on the Van. All in all the worst buying experience of my life.
