Fantastic experience. Would absolutely recommend to everyone buying a car. We were looking for a used car with low kilometers and within an affordable price range. Epic failure. VW sold us a lemon with an extended warranty that they refused to honor. I have been witness to the service department overcharging staff, performing work that was not authorized, and also making costly errors. I have even managed to file a formal complaint with VW Canada to which they "agreed that there were mistakes" but failed to do anything. Don't buy a car here.

Yesterday I was driving down the 401 with lots of truck spray hitting my windshield. Sadly my wiper blade was malfunctioning on my Golf VW. I was on my way to visit my father in Chatham who is in long term care. I phoned Volkswagen Chatham and they were more than willing to help on short notice despite the COVID limitations. I ordered the blades on the phone with the parts department, paid by debit and they came outside in the bitter-15C temperature and installed them. I am not from Chatham and bought my vehicle in London and they did not know me at all! WHAT AMAZING SERVICE!!! Thank you so much for helping me out! I highly recommend this dealership.

I have many reviews that I could leave due to our long history of owning VW's. Since this review would be best served to reflect the current ownership and staff, I can easily sum it up this way. But in a very short amount of time, I have been happily greeted by those who are new and I feel like family once again. I bought my new car VW Golf Alltrack 2018 with Atef at VW Chatham about a month ago. He is a good rep. He knows all the technical features about the car and did not try to Tell me things that were not true. Of course, he highlighted the best features and differentiating points with the Subaru Outback, but he is not too pushy and knows when to give you space and let you do some thinking on your own. He let me drive the car around by myself and try to fit all my luggage in the trunk (that was an important feature for me!). All in all, a very good car buying experience, especially compared to some other dealerships around Chatham with very rookie staff. Thanks Atef!

Consider buying your next VW from VW Chatham! This was my first time and my first VW. I had a great hassel free experience purchasing a new VW from this dealership. Every person on staff we interacted with was friendly, professional and helpful. They offered contact-less sales which we used with no issues. Our car was delivered with care: clean, fresh and even installed our mats and bagged the factory ones for storage, little touches. We have not used any services at the dealership yet, but will be doing that once we reach our service markers as this dealership included it with our new VW purchase. Very nice touch! We did not experience any pushy warranty sales either. It was a very stress-free experience. I would recommend them to anyone considering a VW. When it came to pricing they were very competitive and no fussing aroud, just got right to the best possible price to get me into a VW. They were also very fair on my Ford trade in, something that we did not experience with previous dealers as we shopped for a new family vehicle. They used an app to assess my trade in as well, SUPER SIMPLE and EASY to use. Only little thing with the app is trade-in price offered is an estimate until they deliver the vehicle and inspect yours to make sure what you listed and sent pictures of is actually true. That part was slightly nervous but they need to do their due diligence on buying a used car off someone - it all worked out, price did not change, my vehicle was as described. As it is my first VW, if it holds up to the high quality standards they talked about, definitely won't be my last and I'll be back to VW Chatham

Never buy a used Non-VW from them!! I had purchased a vehicle this past June 2018 and in Sept. I needed a new Transmission cooler and lines...approx $900 without tax!! The 6month Global warranty they include with sale is to make you feel secure... PLEASE READ or ASK THEM what is exactly covered...Sad to say my problem was not eligible for reimbursement!!! The sales agent was not as friendly as he was when the sale was made..Was I to expect something else? I sent an email to the Owner and never heard back.....Their actions tell you what their Real Concerns are..If I choose to buy a VW or Audi in the near future I will never deal with them!!! Go to Windsor or London!!! Drive the extra distance and find someone who will stand behind their sale!!

My husband and I were looking for a SUV that will accommodate our expanding family. From when we first walked in to the dealership everyone who saw us was very welcoming with a "hello how are you" and a smile. We had booked a test drive for the new Volkswagen Atlas, and in that same day ended up purchasing it. We had it customized to our need as well. From the date of ordering to the date of delivery of our brand new Atlas, the customer service we were provided at Volkswagen Chatham was 10/10. We met most of the people who would be handling our vehicle for servicing in the future. Overall everyone at Volkswagen Chatham are there to help. Atef, our sales representative made us feel like family and always welcoming. He checked up on us to make sure we and our vehicle were okay during the whole purchase and pick process. He gave clarification with how to use something in our new car if we were having difficulty either over the phone or in person at the dealership. He gave us a walk through of how to use the info-tainment system, and always invites us back to into the dealership to make sure everything is running smoothly with our new Volkswagen Atlas. It makes owning a Volkswagen Atlas a great experience with great customer service.

Do not buy from chatham vw. I drove from the GTA to buy my car last year. They offered to deliver and once delivered I noticed the alignment was off. 2 weeks later I had a coolant leak. Chatham vw offered to help only if I drove it back to be serviced by them. After a month of ownership I had a broken rear coil spring.

"Do yourself a favor and brush up on the consumer protection act before showing up to this place. They go out of their way to make you waste money and time waiting around. I went in to have a slave cylinder installed, i had to tow it there as I wasn't able to connect the hydraulic lines through my firewall with the foam insert. Brought it to VW to simply connect the lines (figured there was a special tool they had). Next thing you know I get a call about them connecting the lines but in the process of doing that they broke the brake fluid reservoir. If only I knew a little more about the CPA back then. So this "simple" job of connecting the lines, cost me over $300 and they didn't even do it right, as they left out the foam insert. They also just sat around and watched as I loaded and unloaded my car from a towable car dolly (not a easy task for 1 person) ..... I've called before for price quotes and got the good'ol "we'll get back to you" response and than I'd end up calling them over two days later. Inside the dealership is like a high school hallway during lunch. Go to VW dealerships if you need the odd light bulb, bolt or some special fluid, but that's all they're good for. If you want to take your car to a shop for a service in chatham, bring it to Chemali's!" . . . is what I had written down as a review for a while, a representative commented trying to make amends but I ignored it and still want this review of my experience online! I didn't delete it.

If I made a commitment to travel 300km to view a car of my interest it means that I'm convinced to buy it, it was just the matter of time. Poor business practice.

My experience with Volkswagen Chatham was great from the time I called for an appointment to the time I left after picking up my new Jetta GLI. This is my first Volkswagen, and I could not get the grin off my face after the test drive. If you've never considered one before I would highly recommend it. I never thought I would own one, now I may never own anything else! My sales specialist Mark was easy going and knowledgable and you should make a point to go see him. I recieved great trade value, and was treated fairly throughout. The General Manager Jesse made sure the process went smoothly and the business manager Jeff really went out of his way to make sure the financing went through smoothly. Do yourself a favour and go see the good people at Volkswagen Chatham and you won't be disappointed.

We purchased a 2019 Brand new atlas from Jeff. it was suppose to be under my wifes name and after getting the paperwork and being told that it was under my wifes name and i was solely a co-signer only, we later found out from financing VW that it is under my name and NOT my wifes name! but sneakingly days after, we were given the ownership whereby it was under my wifes name. CLEARLY, SHE WAS NOT APPROVED SO FINANCING DID WHATEVER THEY COULD TO GET A SALE, AND PUT THE CAR UNDER MY NAME JUST TO MAKE THE SALE GO THROUGH! ALL THIS ONLY TO MAKE A SALE DURING A PANDEMIC AND A STRUGGLING DEALERSHIP! we requested a sunroof, it wasnt added when we picked the car up, nor were pictures PROVIDED of the vehicle when we requested prior to picking up. we requested the $349 floor mats removed, upon picking up the vehicle they were not. DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP AS THEY ARE NOT HELPFUL AND DO THINGS SNEAKINGLY TO MAKE SALES. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! UPDATE - upon further investigation and getting in touch with vw canada and their financing department, our paperwork sat at the dealership for over 2 weeks, but strangely enough when we called the dealer that day at 10am to see if we can adjust this situation, they had said no they cannot as the paperwork was already sent off....that being said the paperwork was literally sent off as soon as we got off the phone discussing this matter at about 1030am....strange how vw Canada literally said they can adjust this situation and make it right since they didnt get the paperwork yet....but an hour later they randomly got it sent off....just shows you what kind of management is at this dealership. Sneaking things in last minute and lieing about it. Vw Canada even called them out and said "i can guarantee you vw chatham is only doing this because they know they messed up and are covering their tracks" and even emailed them saying hey we never got the paperwork yet ... But hey if you dont think that thats sneaky then go spend your money at vw chatham, i can guarantee you they wont get a dime from me or anyone else i know. Fyi they low ball on trade ins as well, gave 3500 for ours and said they cant get much more then that then turned it around and sold it for 8000....with zero work needing to be done. Good job guys! ????.

Exploitive and unethical – skull and crossbones warning. After agreeing on a trade-in price based on a fully transparent description of my Audi A4, (plus 4 hours of research and 3 other quotes), I drove from Toronto to Chatham with the expectation of trading in my car and purchasing a demo. The owner, Gerry Peterson inspected my Audi A4 for over 45 minutes. He said I had a star chip in the windshield and the wheel rims showed curb rash which meant additional costs to him of $800 and $1000 respectively. When he asked me if I would help him out and I said no, he glared at me, pivoted on one heel and walked away. And that was it; Imperious, egotistical and insulting. I got back in my car and drove back to Toronto. The next day, Speedy Auto Glass came to repair the chip in the windshield, however, the technician said it was simply a pit mark; He filled it in and said the cost to my insurance company would be $20. Additionally, wheel rims can be refurbished for $350-400. Their website states: ‘RICHMOND MOTORS in CHATHAM, ON treats the needs of each individual customer with paramount concern. We know that you have high expectations, and as a car dealer we enjoy the challenge of meeting and exceeding those standards each and every time. Allow us to demonstrate our commitment to excellence!’ I saw no evidence of exceeding any standards, paramount concern or commitment to excellence and would strongly recommend you not waste an entire day on the 401 as I did to find that out.
