Great purchase on a truck. Decent staff but offset by the fact I was given a truck with tire work not done properly and after 2 months from purchase started losing wheel nuts on the rear tire while driving....luckily my kid was not in the vehicle and nothing worse happened. No apology, the did pay for it at least.

I don’t even know how to start this, but to say that Ben went over the top for us. We had to file bankruptcy 1.5 years ago and I was driving a car that was very unsafe. Our credit was terrible yet he somehow worked his magic and got us approved on a 2013 Mazda 5. Other dealerships wanted us to sign on brand new vehicles with super high interest rates that would of been 600+ a month, but Ben got an awesome deal for us, in two days. I had seen that Island Owl Trucks was trending on social media with "Positive Yawns" and started following Ben and his sales team through their videos, vehicle details, and fun social media platform. When I decided I no longer needed a truck and wanted something smaller I shopped around locally in my area and spoke with numerous sales people. Everyone of them had different advice that always ended up with me being in a different vehicle for a steeper price. After watching a Facebook video I reached out to Ben for his advice on what he would do. We spoke briefly on the phone and after ten minutes I not only had better advice, but the best no smoke and mirrors deal I had been offered. As if it couldn't get any better, Ben had set up everything for me so all I had to do was walk in and sign some papers and seal it with a genuine handshake. By far the best vehicle purchasing experience ever. I spotted my new Tahoe on Instagram one morning and after a brief back and forth with questions I went down to see Ben. We went over the numbers and I swapped my 2 vehicles for the Tahoe! I felt good about the trade and knew I was getting a good deal. After sale care is excellent. I had a battery issue a few days later and it was tested and swapped out right away. All vehicles come safetied and the invoices of any repairs done before they're even put on the lot are included in the paperwork. Highly recommended!

I ordered my 2020 Mazda 3 Sport GT AWD in July, 2019; and it was one of the first 2020 arriving from Japan in September! It turned out to be a GREAT car. It is both a good handling urban car and a great long distant cruiser. The various computerized "driver's aids" turned out to be very useful and helped me to enjoy my long distance driving. The sales and service teams at Coastline is one of the best around. They truly want me to enjoy this Mazda experience. The price is fair, the sales team is exceptional, after sales support is quick and efficient. The service department truly want me to have a good car and any initial issues were resolved quickly and effectively. In closing, I have no reservation in recommending Coastline to any future prospective buyers. P.S. It has been six months now, and the car continued to perform admirably, I must admit I am enjoying the car even more, now that I had the time to learn about its features. New Purchase: In July, 2020, the 100th Anniversary version of the Mazda3 was announced, I immediately ordered one with Turbo. The new car arrived October 29 and I took delivery on Saturday, October 31. It's been 4 days now and the new car is everything the old car was plus many new features that literally "perfected" it as a driver's car. The delivery, service, and sales are, as per usual, exceptional. I got a fair trade-in value for my 15 month old car, and the new car was delivered in perfect condition. Ben, Michelle and their crew are excellent in customer service as well as providing a hassle-free purchase experience. I highly recommend this dealership for your future purchases.

Above and beyond customer service from JR and the team!! We basically made the purchase remotely from Squamish so JR was straight up about the condition of the used truck, and super chill to deal with. They came in on a Sunday when the dealership is closed, as that’s our only available day. JR even drove down to Comox to pick us up from the seaplane, then escorted us to an open insurance shop to help us get it home. There was no negotiating of the price, but we feel like it was very fair, especially for the huge solid of making it all so easy for us. Had we driven instead of flown, we probably would’ve driven away with a second new car too. 100% would go out of our way to bypass the shady dealerships on the mainland to work with these guys again.

What an amazing buying experience. Dana blew us away ! We test drove an SUV and Dana let us keep it over the weekend to really get a feel for the car, we had numbers brought to us first thing Monday morning and we decided we wanted to look at other options. I had recurring problems with my Mazda's headlights, and the finally both went out at the same time, and replacing the bulbs didn't fix it. I was initially really scared by the other negative reviews, but Courtenay Mazda had a two week backup for anything that might be complex, and I couldn't drive at night. When "night" in December is 4:15pm, that's a problem. Coastline was able to see me the same day, identified the problem in minutes, had one of the parts in stock and had the car back (with one working light) same day. The other part came in the following day, and they were able to install it in 15 minutes while I waited. Fair price, great service.

Our truck died out of the blue last saturday morning, and of course my husband posted on Facebook out of frustration as most people do. ( lol I mean what else is social media for) Right away our friend Kerry tagged Ben on my husband's post and within minutes Ben was asking what he could do to help. He had JR to come pick up my husband, myself and our kids. Not knowing what to expect as our credit isn't the greatest right now we went to atleast check it out. Their excuse for this was that they could not get the part for 2 1/2 months. So in two phone calls and 20 minutes I had the part. I'm giving 2 stars because I do love Mazda's, we absolutley love our cz9. But the service we recieved after purchasing our new vehicle was lower than 2. It was a rush purchase, we were trading in our 2016 mazda 3 sport for a new mazda cx9. We needed the space for our travelling. The vehicle was on some kind of special.. but the contract had Full price... I was making sure it came with the gps system, I was told yes, it comes with it. But it did not. Because we were Met in port alberni to purchase and trade, we were already on our 3 day drive to the middle of usa, and didnt have time to stop at coastline mazda to get it. Which made our trip a complete struggle. For a brand new vehicle, it sure had a lot of scratches under the handle at the driver and passenger door as well. Once we got back, we were sent emails to review. So my fiance filled it out. Honestly. We got back to the shop because paperwork was messed up, only for a handful of the workers to surround us stating they weren't happy with our review! Shoving in our face that they drove from campbell river to port to deliver. They Offer delivery... this shouldn't be used against us. How they had to pay out of their pocket to get the mazda 3 front glass replaced, which was around $400. Even though we did a full service, including changing the transmission fluid And put Brand New Winter tires on it A Day! before trading it for the new vehicle. My fiance brought up how the vehicle was on special, but we had to pay full price. They told us they do that with All vehicles... So the special price online and written on the vehicle tag is Fake on all vehicles they sell? They make Everyone pay full price even though its marked on sale??? I mentioned again how we don't have gps even though we were told it would have it. Only to be told No, she did Not say that. Even though through email And text I was told they'd fix that once we got back. I had to pay for it to be installed. To be surrounded by the staff, trying to belittle us was not worth the complete hassle and stress of this vehicle. We haven't, and won't be going back there for services that Push upselling and saying if not done it'll cancel the warranty. Why we didn't speak up on that day, we felt pressured and attacked. This was last year we got our cx9. I'm reviewing now because we got an email to review.

My wife and I have been watching the F-150 market for 4-5 months. I have done extensive online and in person research and have dealt with many sales people in my quest to find the perfect truck for us. I found “the” truck online, at Island Owl Mazda. I recently had my oil changed here and the staff there were great, friendly, and professional. They also did a free vacuum, car wash, and shuttle me back and forth. I was surprised because Wolf Langley Mazda didn't do any of that. The only reason that I didn't give Coastline a perfect score was that they didn't clean/inspect after themself. There was smoke coming out of my engine bay from some oil residue that I had to clean off. Another half a point were taken off because from start to finish took 2 hours. Not a big deal at that time for me. I would go with Coastline again over my local dealer everytime.

Had my car break down while I was on my way out of town on a Saturday. Dave the service manager was helpful and caring, stayed on the phone with me while I drove 1.5 km home to wait for a tow. Stayed past closing to give me a courtesy car so I could continue with my plans to babysit grandkids in Nanaimo. The only complaint I have, but is I would imagine with most dealerships, I was charged $135 to use the computer to diagnose the problem even though I had them fix it. Also, I was encouraged to do extra work that would have cost another $200 and isn’t necessary or Mazda recommended to do for another 35000 km.

Bought a vehicle from them two months ago, and have already had issues with it. First the remote batteries stopped working and needed replacing, then my starter stopped working and my vehicle wouldn’t turn on. When I talked to the dealership they stated that I didn’t have warranty so they would not pick up my vehicle and that if I got it here they could look at it. After I got to the dealership I waited for two hours despite asking for the shuttle multiple times, and then I was informed that I had to pay 700$ to fix my vehicle.

I was disappointed that I was informed my emergency brake is soft. The history ofy car indicated emergency brake issues and yet nothing was done. The intermittent squeak has been occurring for 3 years and not once has this been mentioned. These issues I would hope be covered under extended warranty that may have just recently expired!!!

As always Coastline Mazda goes the extra mile. Even though I live in Victoria I have bought two cars at Coastline Mazda in Campbell River, the First because of a friend’s Recommendation. This visit was because I needed a small maintenance service and it was quicker to do it in Campbell Rivet than Victoria. The friendly staff, starting with Jessica, got my car in quickly and advised that I needed more work than I had originally thought and why I needed it. Jessica quickly got me set up with a loaner car to get me to work then called at the agreed time to report the work was done. Quickly did the exchage of cars, paid the bill and left with a nice fresh bottle of water! These little details show how much the staff care and how committed they are to top-notch service. Had the absolute worst experience with this dealership and the sales staff. I spoke with Joel Woo, one of the sales people to get me quotes on financing a new vehicle. Not only did he not listen to my needs, he constantly interrupted me, was rude, and when i wasn't interested in seeing a more expensive vehicle then requested he lost interest in me as a customer. When i asked to speak with a manager, he told me that everyone was busy with customers "buying vehicles" insinuating that i was not a customer that was going to buy!? I've never been treated so poorly! I took my business elsewhere and ended up buying a vehicle down island. My friends and family will never return to this dealership because of my experience! i suggest firing that sales guy if you want customer satisfaction.

They charged me $210 to replace my driver side headlight. Due to a time crunch I accepted the fee and had it replaced. Recently had my passenger light go out and The mazda in Victoria charged me $28 in labour after tax and would of charged me ~30 for the part. My biggest concern with this is why is a dealership under the same brand charging almost 10 times the amount?! Very displeased at my decision for dealing with this company. Strongly recommend going to a third party or another dealership for a better price and more knowledgeable service.

I rated Coastline one star as zero star is not available. I found the salesperson misleading and very ignorant about what came or did not come with different trims of the car I was looking at. More annoying were the high pressure sales/negotiating tatics used once we decided to purchase a vehicle. They used tactics such as double teaming salespeople on us during the discussions, ludicris trade in value for our car and obscene pressure for extended warranty. One minute the new Mazda was the best car on the planet then when discussing additional warranty they tried to scare us to thinking that this was new, complicated technology and risky in terms of service life. The service department was just as bad. The sales manager and the associate behind the service counter screwed up the simplest of service items and seemed very ignorant about where and how certain items would be serviced. How does the Service Manager not know where the oil filter is located??? They were always quick to point out that I risked losing my warranty if I did ANY service myself even though the manual outlines how dyi service can be properly documented maintaining your warranty. The store at the time was trotting out some customer satisfaction survey showing 100% satisfaction. I didnt feel much urge to trust that. Interesting that i was never asked to complete a survey; it could have been my obvious annoyance with the Service department. I found out that Coastline Mazda is owned by the same people which own Steve Marshal Ford and Campbell River Honda. I'll never buy or service a vehicle at Coastline ever.

Thank you to Ben & Ocho (aka Aaron) at Island Owl Truck & Auto Sales for making my husband’s flashback in time auto fantasy come to modern day fruition! A few months ago my husband and I met with Ben to outline what it was that we were looking for as my husband wanted a sports car reminiscent of his youth that would still allow him to tote around our small children. A Challenger was required and we were quite colour specific. Ben and Ocho spent several months tracking down our magnificent beast and surprised us with its arrival and subsequently a long weekend test drive. The basic service was a little longer than usual due to Covid-19 protocols (where Coastline goes above and beyond to make sure all touch points at clean and disinfected prior to turning your car over to you) but Jess and her team were able to place me in a loaner for the afternoon and even specifically chose a CX-5 as my ride knowing that I would need the space for two car seats and a stroller (I currently drive a CX-9!). I will never not service with Coastline. They are always upfront about costs and I know that my Mazda is looked after by highly certified Mazda mechanics. And even though it is not a part of the service, when asked, the detail team was kind enough to accommodate a wash down of my back floor mat after I had noticed my son had spilt something! The service team at Coastline is nothing short of amazing and I always enjoy the personal chats that come with each and every service! 8 years strong with this crew from purchasing to servicing my vehicles, I’m never disappointed!

They didn't tell me ahead of time I would be getn charged either, or I wouldn't have asked them to look. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know her breaks and rotors need changing! I just wanted to know if it was the ones that already just got changed or not. Now on top of having to pay for expensive breaks and rotors I get to pay to be told they need to be changed ugh

I bought a Used 2014 Mazda 3 from Coastline Mazda this month. I dealt with dealers all over BC trying to find the right car for me. Unfortunately for me, the car I wanted happened to be at the dealership with the worst customer service ever. First I dealt with Jerry Johnson (sales rep.) threw email. He did not seem keen on answering questions and would not run my prices threw the sales manager. When i eventually texted Jerry, he would not answer for days. I did also deal with the Allen Duns (sales Manager). He also was not very helpful. Did not get back to me about my inquiries. I had to email multiple times to both of them to get answers on one question which usually took a full day for a response. They said they would try to get me winter tires or a deal on some. I don't even think they looked into it. Couldn't even put a full tank in for me, its not like i was buying a five thousand dollar car. Jerry told me he would personally drive the car and deliver it to me. Eventually they shipped me the car threw a company to another companies dealership in my area. Jerry had the audacity to tell me to be nice to the Toyota Manager. They couldn't tell me when it would arrive and when it did arrive it had no licence plate screws. It had not been detailed properly. There was the previous owners trash still in the car, disgusting! I would have to say Mazda's are lovely cars and I love mine, but I would never deal with Coastline Mazda again. Rude and unpleasant staff. Allen thought it was a good idea to send me the spare key fob threw Canada Post. It was not bubble wrapped or protected in anyway. It could have been damaged or lost in the mail. Apparently bubble wrap was to expensive for them.

We bought a vehicle from Coastline a few months back. I'm writing this to let people looking for a car know that my sales experience was absolutely fabulous. We went to multiple dealerships around Vancouver Island and talked to many sales people only see very deceptive tactics and strategies that would only leave us getting ripped off. Upon getting to coastline, we saw the car we wanted, they offered a price, we (once) came back with another, and boom, we got the deal that we were looking for. No excuses ('no i can't do that blah blah'), no distraction ('let's see another car in your budget') just a straight up deal made quick and easy. They are honest and easy to work with. I'm genuinely happy we found them on the internet and went the 150km to see them (and buy the car that day). Great work from the gang there. I totally recommend everyone check them out. If i want a mazda in the future, i will FIRST talk to them.

We bought our new CX5 from Coastline Mazda 3 years ago and it was a positive experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although I live an hours drive away , I've taken my vehicle in for regular servicing. Twice they recommended servicing that , when I checked the manual afterwards , was not needed. The first was a cabin filter that they recommended replacing after 1 year...the manual says 2 years...and they charged $50 labour to change it. I questioned the labour charge and they said it was somewhat complicated to do. I went on YouTube and it takes all of 2 minutes to remove the glove box and replace the filter. I pointed that out to them and they gave me a credit for the next servicing bill. Fast forward approx 2 years and I was in for a regular oil change and while the vehicle was on the hoist ,they recommended changing the rear differential oil and not having access to the manual I agreed to it. When later reading the manual, I found it was only under certain extreme conditions that it should be changed every 5 years. My vehicle was not even 3 years old and had not been subjected to those conditions. I will NEVER be dealing with Coastline Mazda again. They have lost my trust. Their business model appears to be treating their loyal customers as marks to be cheated and overcharged...not a sustainable practice. RC

Dana our sales consultant was no pressure laid back and relaxed just looking for the best match to meet our family needs. We did a trade in which they gave a very fair offer on and the price of the vehicle that we got into was also priced very well according to the market.
