July - 2021 We recently purchased a 2011 Sienna Van from Atlantic Auto Sales, Calgary. Sam (owner) is very knowledgeable in his experience for used auto sales. The van's CarFax Report was presented to me on day one. The asking price was impressive compared to other used car dealers. It was a no-hassle purchase, the van was exceptionally clean (inside and under the hood), mechanically verified, and re-tested before I picked it up the next couple of days later. Jay uncovered a mechanical issue with the drive shaft and had both changed before delivery. I was told to get back to them if any issues or concerns arose. I used the van for a few weeks before writing this review, to qualify what I have written. There are many electronic and mechanical gadgets on this Limited Edition - and everything works! I can only agree with all of the other Reviews I've read about Atlantic Auto Sales. Sam is sincere and honest to his word (rare characteristic for some used-cars salesmen). I am usually not the one to leave a review but this man scammed me and it hurt because he did it on purpose. I told him I didn’t know anything about cars as this would be my first buy. He told me not to worry he got me then proceeded to sell me a 2005 Toyota Camry for $4000. I rarely drive this car as I work from home and I also order groceries to the house so it was always parked. 7 months later the car overheated on the highway and stopped working took it to thr mechanic and now it’s costing me $3000 to fix it. For a car I bout got $4000. I do not recommend this man at all

I just bought a 2012 Ford Edge Limited from Atlantic Auto Sales. The day I was supposed to pick it up, Sam noticed a little noise coming from the vehicle and let me know that he didn't want me to drive off with my vehicle that day without diagnosing and fixing the problem. He immediately got my vehicle to the shop, fixed the issue, did a fresh oil change, replaced a couple of bulbs he noticed were out and filled my tank with gas! Sam is such an honest and kind man. I was with my 2 very young children at the time of purchase and pick up and he ensured the whole process was fast and efficient for me, while keeping me at ease with the unsettling feeling of buying a used vehicle. Atlantic Auto Sales is the very best in local small business and is a pleasure to do business with. Sam Assef is a friend now. I bought a 2003 Honda Pilot with 290k kms on it and haven't been happier! Sam and Dr. Jay (I call him that because he has done some great work on our car, like a doctor. And like a doctor you can trust him. He has become a friend too, but will remain -The Doctor- to me.) are the cornerstone of a truly awesome small business, a local small business started by a local family. I bought our Honda after having had three less than good experiences in new and used cars. What Sam and Jay were able to do was simple, they made me their first priority and promised to take care of me in the process. This care has been extended in ways that to an unemployed Albertan can't be expressed in words alone. It goes beyond all of the tire changes, brake and rotor replacement, headlight assembly and many other physical jobs being performed at rates far below other comparable services. It is how they always welcome me with a smile and kind words. It's them putting coffee on for a friendly conversation. Most importantly, it's how after a year I still feel like I'm a priority when I visit them on the lot. Go buy a car from Sam. And feel like you're his customer, for the long run. Thank you Jay and Sam, you have done so much and asked so little. I'm a customer, and friend, for life now. PS - That little Honda has a name too, it's Lallow and our first daughter chose this name for her. She also chose it for her little sister, however we opted for another name in that case. :)

Second time going back to Sam, bought a highlander off of him a few months ago. Drove it lots and hard for the time I had it and had 0 issues. Very polite guy with a no BS attitude. Absolutely brutal. Sold me a car with a “thorough inspection”. After I paid I went to drive it off the lot and it wouldn’t start. They assured me it was nothing. Eventually got it going after messing with the fuses. Thousands of dollars later it’s now getting towed for scrap. Could never get it running again. Stay away or get your own independent inspection.

When buying a set of tires, they gave me the wrong size and not ones displayed in their ad. Then they give me a different set, expecting the same price for a cheaper brand. The tread was at the wear line and they were hoping I wouldn't notice (pointing out the different grooves that are clearly not the wear line). I decided on a third set. I was not impressed with the lack of organization.

They were trying to sell a VW Golf with 154,000 km and a fair bit of damage for $9000. I had called in before going to the dealership and he told me "it is turnkey ready" and I asked him if it needed any work and he said "it is turnkey ready". It did in fact need work. When I offered $5000, the guy shook my hand and said "deal!", and then a few seconds later said "yeah, we don't steal our cars, you know". When I explained to him the reasons for the offer (burn holes in the seats, large dent in the side, scratches) and that if I offered him $8200 he would say "sold" right now he said "yeah, maybe". When I told him that I felt the damage was affecting the test drive, he said "I'll bet you a million dollars that that damage in no way affects the driving of this car" and he put out his hand again. As if I was going to shake it after he basically went bad on our last deal. He was completely ignorant, and would not even attempt to barter even after I raised my offer to $6000. He must have paid far too much for the vehicle. I will never buy from this dealership. I hope that car stays on his lot forever. What a waste of a trip down there.

I bought a truck 2 days ago. Everything on the Nissan frontier looked good. Test drove it,felt nice and tight.. I got 100km away and was on the highway. Looked in my drivers side mirror and noticed smoke coming from the drivers rear tire. And off to the mechanic it went. Mechanic told me that the Axle seal let go and that I was lucky I didn't wreck more. Also told me that some one just put silicone around the out side to stop the leaking. Im not saying this was the dealership but if this truck went through a full amvic check list they should have seen it when they check everything out. Now I'm stuck with a $2000 bill plus the tow from Bragg Creek to Calgary. Seems a little shady and would not recommend this dealership unless you get a smoking deal.......

I would not recommend going to this Auto Dealership unless you have experience purchasing cars. Sam is nice, but not good with conflict. He sold me a car that didn't work out and could not have been more rude about it. I had the car for less than a month, had to go in four times and finally returned the vehicle. He made sexist remarks and tried to make me out as liar, when I had two other mechanics diagnose the problems. I wasted over $500.00 in extra expenses that I likely won't be able to recover and plenty of time back and forth. If you decide you want a vehicle from here, I suggest a second opinion on the quality and the price. He will try to convince you he is going the extra mile, when he is really just doing the bare minimum. I'm positive they have good relationships with other people and sell some decent cars, but my experience was extremely bad with Sam. Like I said, just get a second opinion and question everything he offers.

I bought a truck here awhile back. On the surface it seemed in good condition and the price was decent so i bought it. The guy kept using BS sleazy salesman lines like "i was planning on buying this for myself! Im losing money on this so youre getting an awesome deal!" After we agreed on a price he tried adding on extra fees without telling me until i reviewed the contract. I mentioned this then he made it seem like he was doing me a favor by removing them. I was in a pinch for time and needed a truck for work so i didnt have time to really look at everything in detail, which I regret now. Upon further inspection a couple days later, there actually were alot of issues. The frame was bent, one of the leaf springs was loose and held together with zip ties, there was body damage that had been hidden with bondo, there were fingerprints inside the dash by the odometer. Pretty sure this truck was a previous write off, even though the "carfax" i was shown was clean and had no accidents. I would have had to put alot of money into it if i wanted to keep it long term so i ended up donating it because i couldnt rightfully take cash from someone for this junk truck. Used car dealer sterotypes exist for a reason
