I purchased an 01 Eclipse GT from here from a dealer named Nik back in January, and am still satisfied with the purchase. I had most of my discussion with the dealer online, receiving a Carproof of the vehicle, negotiating a *great* firm price (which was honoured without question upon purchasing), and booking an appointment for the test drive completely through Gmail. Despite it being a used car dealership, where the worst of salesman may occasionally spawn, this one in particular was great to deal with- both in-person and online. I replaced the timing belt and plugs on the car two months later upon hitting 100k, and the mechanic was impressed by how clean and maintained the engine was, suggesting the inspection and tune-up by Lucky 8 was pretty well-done. No surprises is a good thing. That being said, minor flaws about the car weren't pointed out explicitly by the salesman, including wear on the finishing and upcoming preventative maintenance the car would need. Even if obvious, it's satisfying to hear a salesman point these things out. I also must stress that you must do your research on used vehicles to make sure you know as much as possible about them prior to unloading your bank; a used car dealership does not need to tell you more than you need to know. Overall though I am still satisfied with the good deal I got on my car and the service these guys gave me.

I showed up on the lot first thing in the morning, and a fellow named AJ got me setup for a test drive. Vehicle seemed Good but I'm a skeptic and wanted a third party inspection. I was able to get an appointment with Acura later the same day. AJ agreed to let me bring the car off the lot, his boss insisted he go along for the ride (understandable). The appointment actually ended up taking a few hours, and it was in Richmond which is a ways to go from kingsway in Vancouver. So I literally borrowed AJ from the dealer for the better part of 5 hours ( I went shopping while AJ waited at the dealership for my third party inspection, which took 2 hours). The guy went out of his way to satisfy my needs and make the sale. I was serious about buying the vehicle and I needed the peace of mind to know all was well, especially being unfamiliar with the process and this particular business. After the inspection, all good, we drove back and finished the deal. Great car at a great price and service that goes above and beyond. From test drive to driving it off the lot (in the same day), they accommodated my needs and at the quick pace that I was asking of them. I know I pushed them, and they delivered.

Was looking to purchase a car for my son's 19th birthday, and I was referred to Lucky 8 by a close friend of mine. The salesperson that helped me, Mike, was very friendly, and spoke mandarin as well (an added bonus). It was a comfortable experience talking with him and I did not feel pressured to make a quick decision. I asked him to suggest a car that my son would like, and he introduced me to the 2006 Audi S4 which came at a very reasonable price. Thanks to his good judgement, my son was very satisfied with his birthday present and I had a very positive experience with this shop.

I will NEVER go here again after my experience with the hidden status rebuilt M3 they tried to sell me. They are not honest about their vehicles status. I would Highly Discourage anybody from buying from this Auto Dealer. Beyond the High Pressure sales tactics and the lack of humanism, they are also willing to sell you a broken product. I bought a Toyota Corolla 2001 LE for 5200 with taxes and documentation fees it came to 6000. I later find out that it's only a 2800 dollar Car. It came with a broken ABS and an oil leak. The ABS was fixed at another 500 and the oil leak has yet to be fixed. They also used high power sales tactics to make you feel guilty with bargaining and pressure you to get a deposit before buying the car. So that they can lock you in. It was a very bad experience for me and I wouldn't recommend you touch this dealership. So conclusively, I would encourage any buyer to look elsewhere. The lack of service and sincerity in this dealer is highly lacking.

I would give this place NEGATIVE 10 stars if I could. HORRIBLE SERVICE. The salesman lied to me saying that leaving a deposit is refundable. I advised him that I want to talk to my sister to come and take a look (the vehicle was for her, not me) I liked it and left a deposit to make sure it wasn't sold. Salesman assured me that I could get my money back if it wasn't the one she wanted. I return with my sister who didn't like the car and the guy didn't want to give my $1000 deposit back. They are a bunch of liars and crooks!

My experience with this company was not pleasant. Aggressive, predatory sales techniques and upselling are the norm. As a first time buyer in BC i didn't know there is an Icbc document about the car with info about accidents and they conveniently didn't mention it or give it to me at the time of sale, i found out later and returned for it only to wait a long time because they had to "push some cars" as the manager said to the person helping me. Be very careful.

I've decided to visit this shop when looking for a SUV, after hearing appraises from many of my friends. I didn't really have any idea which SUV I wanted at the time, and when I visited the shop, I was surprised by their wide range of selection. Mike and Carl took me on test drives, from the numerous times I've visited the shop, before deciding on a 2013 Honda Pilot. Their pricing was fair, and Raymond handled the vehicle registration in a breeze. Chill staff all along the process, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth car purchase experience!

He was very patient with me bringing in different people; and when I needed an extra day to talk to my insurance, he made sure that I wouldn't lose out on my car but also that I wasn't chained to it, if my insurance didn't work out. Looking at the reviews on this dealership, it would have been common sense to avoid them. However, the deal I found on a 2009 Honda CRV was too good to resist. Seeing as I had nothing to lose from just checking out the car, I gave it a shot. Walking onto the lot initially, I only got more skeptical; the place resembled little of a showroom. However, I was pleasantly greeted by Mike with the car already on the lot waiting for me. After a quick test drive, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and smoothness of the drive. I told them that I would need a couple of days, and Mike was more than courteous with my decision, and also let me know about the $500.00 fully refundable down payment option I could choose to hold the car for a couple of days. I then had the details of the 2009 Honda CRV checked for legitimacy with ICBC, and found that everything matched up. Seven months later, I am still very happy with my purchase.

I have been in this dealership twice. First time they sold me Lexus with issues, waste time and money for fixing. The leakage of the moon window, oil leak from the transmission and door actuators. The car was under the roof, so they partially hid it from heavy rain. I got car in July and did not realize about this till mid of September. They are kind and helpful while buyers are there and till the time you buy and go out with the car. Second time they had clean BMW X5 the year, colour, trim, mileage all good, but again did not mentioned major issue with engine. Luckily they gave 30 days return policy. Right after purchase I went for inspection, the engine require major work that estimated a half price of the car. Most likely, I just got lucky with 2 cars with 3 years time gap between.

Someone made another reference for this on google. Figured I'd update this to be on the one with more reviews. I had a great experience buying my FR-S from these guys. I found their ad on Craigslist, had e-mail correspondence with them at first, and then moved over to calling them to arrange a time to see the vehicle. I got down there, I dealt with an incredible helpful gentlemen named Carl, as well as his coworkers, we went over the vehicle, I took it for a test drive. I got back and we sorted out an appropriate and amicable deal for the vehicle, which was actually a really amusing experience in its own right. The entire time I felt very well looked after for. A lot of what things boiled down to was the dealership looking into what I wanted, beyond what they wanted. I bought the car from them, and it's been a blast. They provided me with all relevant information for my remaining manufacturer warranty, and of course provided an ICBC rep for me to get insurance the day I picked it up. Overall, great experience. I was nervous at several points because of the size of the purchase. I work as a salesmen myself in a different field, and I actually felt the exchange we had was very well done, very ethical, and actually pretty enjoyable. So if they've got a car you're looking for I'd definitely give them a call. Very helpful.

Car was dusty and dirty on the outside and had stickers remaining on window interior had been detailed but was . Left with a quarter tank of gas. The owner is a sleazy scammer. My bro had a Acura RSX that I wanted to trade it in for a Honda CRV. The mileage on the Acura was around 33,000 km and the CRV had roughly 80,000 km. So they offered him the CRV plus an extra $2500. The price difference of the cars is roughly around 10-15k. Took total advantage of my kid brother who didn't know any better. Fast forward 5 years and my bro traded the CRV once again for a Tacoma truck at another used car dealer. After the deal was done, he gets a call from the dealer who traded the Tacoma and he was told that according to the car fax, the odometer reading for the crv was registered at 290,000 km 5 years ago! My brother was wondering why the CRV kept breaking down and he put an additional $3000 worth of repairs to keep it from breaking down. After lucky 8 was confronted about the odometer roll back on the crv, they denied rolling back the mileage and didn't take responsibility for anything. Buyer beware! In response to your reply, the dealership was previously located in Burnaby, I just called and verified the same owner still owes this shady business and now is a part owner. I still have the "Lucky" 8 auto sales receipt with the false odometer reading and the car fax with the real odometer reading. It's nice that you forget about us cash cows you scammed. Ask Tony about the rolled back mileage CRV he bought back from the other dealership and he will remember.

Like any used car dealership the potential buyer needs to spend some money on an independent inspection by a certified mechanic to ensure the vehicle of interest does not have undisclosed or unknown defects. Carl Fitzgibbon as a Lucky 8 Auto salesman was very good and was a no pressure salesman which we liked. The only reason why I did not give them 5 stars is because the staff inside were definitely more pressure attempting to up sell warranties, which in our opinion is a waste of money. Overall, we were as happy with our used car purchase as one can be. When visiting Lucky 8 Auto on Kingsway always ask for Carl ... he is calm, cool and collected in a world of high pressure used car sales people that is a rare find.

DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!! This is the WORST dealership that you can buy a car from. I bought a BMW a few years back, it was fine for the first few months I drove it, but after that. The engine light kept coming on, and it always smelled like burned engine oil. I took it to the dealer since the warranty is still good, to get it fixed. But boy oh no, it wasn't fixed. The burning smell was still there but the engine light was gone. Took it to a real mechanic, the mechanic told me that they must have disconnected the sensor or something. Cost me 400$ to get the head cover gasket fixed and some minor problems; but on this incident of how they conduct business, they are a not a trustworthy dealership.

I just bought my third vehicle from Lucky 8 because they are the best used luxury vehicle dealer in town. John Ling in sales is so knowledgeable and always gets you into the right vehicle. I told him what type of car I was looking for and he patiently waited a couple months until that exact vehicle showed up on the lot. He called me and I went to have a look. He found me a ML 350 with only 35,000km it was like brand new! Then he worked out the best deal and I drove away feeling like I just won the lottery. Thank you John! I read many negative reviews and they reminded me of a hellish experience I had with them few years ago. First their refused to give me back my deposit until they sold me the car. Then I later found out big facts they had hidden about accident and repair. I had to keep coming back for them to do some extra repair. Even then they had to repeat the same repair many times because each time they would try some all kinds of shortcuts and ended up with incomplete job. Judging by the recent reviews, they haven't changed a bit. Don't go there. They take every single opportunity they get to scam you and get your money. If you try to express yourself, they will impolitely yell at you. They tried to bribe me with beers instead of giving me back my deposit. When I think about what happened then. I think I should have called the police to help me get my deposit. When I tried to refuse the car insurance they were trying to sell to me, the insurance salesman yelled at me so loudly... as I said I can't believe I didn't call the police on them that night to free me from their grip. Customers should not be harassed and intimidated into buying things. I had told them that I had just lost an uncle and asked them not to stress me out but give me back my deposit, but they heartlessly manipulated the whole situation. Just stay away from them.

I went on their websitw found the perfect car called him and he reserved the car for me to test drive the next day.....waaay better deal than i could have wvwr hotten anywhere else! Mint condition, no tricks no hidden fees. It was exactly as discribed on the website and look just as amazing in person if not better. Put down a deposit came back the next day and my car was ready for me to drive away within minutes. Buying a car has never been easier....but it was with these guys! Stress free and very satisfying.

Not Great. I went to look at a car a few months ago. There were some obvious problems with it so I offered to take it to a mechanic to get it checked out. The salesman suggested that I only take it to his mechanic. The salesman also went into the car with an OBD II reader before I had arrived. After turning the car on and off a few times a "Check Engine" light code appeared. I can only imagine he tried to clear it before I looked at it. Needless to say I did not buy the car. Would definitely not recommend! The owner seems to reply to all of the negative reviews with "that never happened... you lied". That's not a good sign.

Recently purchase a 2012 Nissan 370Z from Lucky Eight Auto. I highly recommend this dealership if you are currently looking to purchase a vehicle. Yianni was my sales associate and possesses the following qualities: He was welcoming, empathetic and made me feel respected as a new customer. I noticed he was curious to learn about me as a person not as a customer who he could intimidate or persuade. Yianni does not depend on a sales manger for direction or guidance. Negotiations were casual open discussions with very little stress. Yianni possessed an appropriate sense of urgency, as exemplified in the need to see the sale progress and to bring situations (ie., engine light and tire pressure gauge warning) to a resolution. Furthermore, he also can accept valid criticisms and suggestions from me about the car. Overall, Yianni was able to focus on what CAN be done as opposed to what CANNOT be accomplished to complete this sale.

If you actually research the company, this company has been investigated by ctv and the results were that they knowingly sell people poorly repaired cars. "The salesman at Lucky 8 Auto Sales admitted the car had been in an accident, but claimed that only the back of the vehicle had been damaged. When APA’s expert mechanics checked it out, they found the damage was much more severe than he had let on. The car had actually been hit in the front quite severely and some of the repairs weren’t even complete – there was even an open weld." "During an interview with W5 he admitted that the car had been very badly repaired, and when they discovered this the vehicle was returned to the wholesaler."

Very friendly, courteous service, especially my salesman Carl Fitzgibbon, and the most amazing collection of high-end luxury vehicles. Most vehicles are imported from Japan and in immaculate condition with very low mileage. I wanted a BWM, Mercedes or Jaguar to supplant my aging 88 420 SEL as a daily driver and their collection of BMW Z3s and Mercedes SLKs really caught my eye. Faced some initial resistance to in-house financing with less than 50% down, but when I threatened to walk away, Carl went to bat for me with the owner and hammered out a very reasonable financing arrangement that let my drive away in a 97 Z3 in near-mint condition with only 89,781kms on it. They had documentation for every vehicle I looked at, including inspection reports and repair receipts. I will definitely be buying my next car there as well. So where do I begin I recently purchased a 2000 subaru sti from this dealer the whole time I felt like he was avoiding certain questions I asked him if there was any rust he said no rust. I asked if the tires were good he did not clarify. Avoiding real answers We ended up making a deal. I drove the vehicle off the lot to the gas station immediately noticed these tires were sooo terribly sun cracked. The side walls looked like they had been cut dangerous dangerous he knew I was going back to grande prairie and was soo doubious. I immediately drove back and was very frustrated with their practice the switched the tires and I left back home that's the icing on the cake we didn't even make it 1000km and the back strut snapped it was soooo rusted and weakend it was clearly falsified on their pass during the inspection which I doubt they even did this company misleads you buys garbage calls it caviar and puts lives at risk im lucky my family is safe and we didn't crash due to the shock snapping and the strut literally deteriorated.

I saw their ad on Craigslist, good looking car, has not accident, one owner and extremely low mileage for the age of the car and No accidents. I visited them to see the car, I asked them if car been involved in any accident? Attended told me that he can't remember about this car because there are many other cars in the lot, so he went inside to see the papers. After few minutes other gentleman comes out and hand me over car report, on first page it shows that car was in an accident. I asked gentleman why Craigslist ad indicate that this car not been involved in any accident? No answer from them. Then I asked them if this car been driven by one owner? Then gentleman says that he is not sure, maybe one maybe two or more....then I told him that why his Craigslist ad specifically shows One Owner? Then they start yelling at me that I do not trust him. I find them not trust worthy, their business practice is questionable, I really do not know how they are still in business? They should not give false information to customers. No wonder why they have many bad reviews here... I think best way to find a good car is through private sale on Craigslist , if you like the car, show car to good mechanic for any issues then negotiate price after inspection if you like the car and no major issues. Hard to trust pushy car dealers now a days, they think customers are stupid and they can easily make them fool. Zero start for Unlucky Lucky 8.

I bought a 2010 VW GTI from Lucky 8 a couple months ago. Initially, I was apprehensive because the company doesn't have the best reputation, but I took the leap and decided to buy because the salesperson (Ian) seemed honest and was upfront about their reputation too. I figured they wouldn't be still operating a couple years later if they hadn't improved. My experience with them was very good. No, I wasn't able to negotiate more than a couple hundred bucks off at signing, but I shopped around, and their prices are low to begin with (Capilano VW wanted $5k more for a similar 2010 GTI). They're not a fancy dealership, so don't expect frills, but I don't think their sales team is making a ton of commission. My experience was positive all the way, apart from negotiating the price - don't expect to save much off the sticker price, but they threw in a service including brake pads. More importantly, I got a fantastic car that I love. So far everything has been exactly as advertised. I'd recommend checking them out if you want to save a few bucks. And always get a comprehensive Carfax report on anything you're thinking about buying (from anyone).

So I'm gunna start with the positives. I bought a delica here and got a very good looking one interior was mint no rust on the thing. The price they originally that they wanted for it was a bit high and after an hour we negotiated a decent price so that was all good. BUT... I would say if your gunna buy a delica here take the thing on a longer test drive as there were some major issues. First issue i found was a very squeaking alternator pulley which ended up actually being a seized alternator and the car died after the purchase going home. I am a mechanic so i fixed it pronto and they opted to pay half the price of the alternator as i didnt get warranty. After inspecting the car more I found that whoever did the inspection did not check the tires and they were not road legal for canada they didnt have a dot code on the tire. I tried to get tires swapped and they refused and argued which to me seemed un reasonable considering if i got pulled over and checked the dealer would have been liable for selling this car not road worthy. Now the major issue.... 2 months into driving this thing the transmission blew up and this is why I'm writing a review. Take any car you buy from here for a longer than 15 minute test drive as all of these problems could have been noticed in 25 mins of driving. These guys are in the selling business and will talk it up until u give them the money. Be cautious! Btw I threw a transmission in it and now it drives very good.

My wife and I recently purchased an Acura SUV from Lucky 8 and dealt with Michael as the salesman. Michael was very professional, courteous, and accommodating in the way he worked with us which made our buying experience more pleasant. It is rare to see that drawing from my own experience dealing with with other car salesmen in the past. The day we picked up the car, it was in tip-top shape and was even given a final wash just before we drove away with it. On a final note, this place isn't your typical "corner street used car dealer" which you may have preconceived notions about. These guys have a showroom warehouse in Vancouver which holds a fleet of cars that range in quality and price (including luxury vehicles). I was pleasantly surprised and impressed to see that. I would recommend Lucky 8 to anyone in the market for a used car.

If you are buying Japanese imports here, make sure to check documents to make sure odometer hasn't been reset or otherwise tampered. The reset was done while in Japan, isn't done by Lucky, but not sure if they knew and didn't disclose up front. What is listed as 50,000 kms car can actually be 200,000.

I recently purchased a 1995 Delica imported from Japan in 2018. Soon after I purchased it I had several problems with the diesel glow plugs and AC compressor. Under Lucky 8's 30 day power train warranty, they took great care of me, first by offering to bring my Delica back to Vancouver, I live in Victoria, for repairs and then by paying for all shop expenses in Victoria. I am very happy with their customer care, and feel comfortable recommending Lucky 8 to anyone.

BUYER BEWARE! They sold me JDM Lancer EVO 7 without DOT headlights and now I got a ticket from police for RE-INSPECTION. I will let you know how it goes. UPDATE: Inspection officer advised that JDM cars are illegal to drive in Canada because of headlights. I got a quote of $1500 for headlights modification. I was lucky that I found used headlights on ebay for $900. Please do your research before you buy JDM car. I have no idea how they passed safety inspection.

I would not reccomend this place to anyone. You would expect someone to acknowledge you when walking into a dealership. But all I had was stares and a very uncomfortable feel. It's not the kind of professional service you would expect. They seem to be quite successful with the amount of cars they have in their many lots which is good for them, but not so much for customers. I had done my research before bringing the car in and I understand the value would be under market if I were to sell but they offered 30-40 percent of the value which is ridiculous. I understand car salesmen have strategies but the person I was dealing with was rude so I didn't buy anything he said. Example. Trade in save taxes but at that low of a price I'd rather pay the taxes than to let him rip me off. You'd get better service and price at any other dealership. I did some research on their company after and they had actually been caught for scamming people. It was on the news and I guess they're still up and running because they just pay for their problems to go away. They have many ads of top cash for cars..... If you want value for buying and selling.... Go somewhere else. Simple as that. I also have a feeling alot of the reviews are fake only because I read some and they're majority solid reviews. But the experience I had was completely disgusting.

Came to look at a Nissan Silvia for a friend and the mechanic there was trying to tell him that the engine was in very good shape yet the 2 litre gas motor sounded like a diesel. We then looked at another vehicle and it supposedly was not in an accident yet the drivers side of the engine bay had been separated from its pinch welds. We asked to see the inspection report and the owner of the company refused. Wouldn't trust anything coming from this dealership. They act like a bunch of crooks. Don't waste your time or money.

Spoke over the phone about the car and when we went to see in person, the sales man says Ohh it's a mistake the price of the car is higher than posted online. We said ok can we see the car and he said no, come some other time we are busy right now. Bunch of idiots. Wasted our time driving all the way from new west. Avoid them.

Make sure you are getting the CORRECT carproof report. I asked for a carproof report and when I received it, the car only had one $800 claim. Then once I looked closer, the report wasn’t even for the car I was looking at(same year but I was looking for a v6 and the report was for a 4 cylinder). Once the correct one was sent it had close to total of $20k in accidents. When I confronted the sales person he said he must’ve sent it by “accident”. I wouldn’t trust buying anything from this place.

Scam! Scam! Scam! Refused to show me a car history report and a car inspection as well. Told me that his mechanic checks the cars and says they are in good condition. I filed a car proof report and found out that the car I wanted had been in 3 accidents total damage close to $15000 in damages. I repeat....DO NOT BUY from this con artist. If it is too good to be true....it probably is.

Highly recommend this dealer, Joseph in sales delivered everything promised, John the GM was great to deal with in negotiating my trade-in and purchase, by that I mean the numbers were fair and current valuations with respect to both vehicles, lastly Simon the service manager is knowledgable and technically professional. They have a very extensive checklist from pre-sales service (which they will show you) and OE repair/replace what needs to be done. I want to sale a 2013 Mini, went to 5 used car dealers and still didn’t give a perfect price to sale it but lucky 8, they gave the highest price to bought my car and only spent 20min to get everything done! And also because I sold my car so they took my to my home in Richmond! Will come again when I need my next car!!

This is one of only a few vanishing time-warp Kingsway businesses left. Walk in to the office and you'll feel like it's 1968. Grizzled and greasy sales reps, the stench of cigarette smoke, plenty of polyester is worn by all, even a pin-up calendar. They didn't have the car I was looking for but the experience was worth a trip for the smile. I doubt I'll be back though.

We purchased a great car here. The whole sale processes lasted just a few hours and we went home with our "used" dream car. Later on there was some mix up with the warranty but even after more than a month we went back and asked for new tires. They acted very professionally and gave us the tires. What a great bunch of guys.

Somehow my post seems to have disappeared from this site, or at least I cannot find it. If there was a zero star review I would be writing it for this place. The management team sold me a hybrid and I had previously asked about the batteries before I bought as I had no information on the batteries. The vehicles battery went just before the six month warranty was up. I called and let the lady know this, I had forgot her name. I was however, unable to make It in as a result before the six month warranty was up so I was told I was on my own. I then proceeded to have the battery opened and serviced on my own which cost me 2000 dollars. When my mechanic opened the battery he had found out that it had been previously worked on and the cells had been replaced prior. I replaced the cell that needed replacing and closed it up. I then had issues immediately after and had to do the same process costing me just over 3 grand all said and done. I repaired this vehicle and stated the work that had been done and then the buyer looked up its vin and found a horrendous front end collision that went unreported to icbc and this is obviously where lucky 8 bought the vehicle from and fixed it and sold it to an unsuspecting buyer. I told called them and said I would be having an investigation launched against them and said they would be closed for a month... I believe it was the sales manager ( I could be wrong ) that laughed and told me try and week and hung up. . I lost 10,000 dollars on this car in the sale alone and spent over 5 and close to seven on it while owning over a span of I believe 2.5 years. Very sad. This is a picture of this 2007 lexus gs450h prior to my purchase that was clearly something they had swept under the rug on me.

I found a fantastic deal on Auto traders on a 2014 RAV4. I will be honest; I was apprehensive about going to this dealer since it has had some poor history/reviews online. However, John offered to pay my ferry over to the mainland to look at the car. He even offered to meet me at the ferry to test drive the car. While the place is not your fancy showroom like I experienced at the Toyota dealership here. The staff are all super friendly! The car was there waiting for me and so was John. I was able to take the car for a test drive and it was exactly how John had describe to me over the phone. Mint condition. There was an issue with getting the spare keys but John followed up with me and was able to locate the keys from the previous owner. I liked that he didn't give up- even though, the car was already sold to me - he persisted and managed to produce 2 more sets of keys for the vehicle. I would recommend this dealership. Great price. Great people.
