I've never had a better experience purchasing a vehicle than I did this month at granville island auto. We all have negative stories about used car dealers. I know I do. I've purchased more than a few cars in the past. What I have to say about my experience at granville island auto is nothing short of exceptional. From the first phone call, Sam was very informative and very friendly. He told me the vehicle was available and that he would have it washed and detailed before I came for a test drive. When I arrived, they had moved the vehicle into the well lit garage on the back side of the building, so that I could experience a great look at the car from every angle. Sam gave me as much time as I needed to view the vehicle . We sat inside and went through all the features and options together and he made sure I was familiar with everything and answered any of my questions. Next was the test drive. We went on the granville bridge into downtown and did a couple of loops so that I could get a really good idea and feel of how the car handles. Meanwhile, Sam and I had pleasant conversations and not once did I feel like I was being rushed or pumped up with typical salesman talk. Sam was very relatable and was more interested in what kind of car would fit my needs best. I felt great about the test drive and by that point I was already sold on the vehicle. I asked Sam if I could put a deposit on the vehicle until I could get a certified cheque from my bank. He let me know that he didn't need a deposit from me and that if I wanted the car, I had his word that it'll be mine. He put a sold sign on the dash. Not once did Sam try to pressure me or try to sell me the car. It felt very natural. That's not something I was used to from past experiences with other dealerships. When I started up the car again, I noticed a hesitation and thought uh ohh. Immediately Sam opened up the trunk and took a look at the battery to determine the issue. He decided to replace the battery at no cost to me. Turns out the battery was old and probably wouldn't last much longer. That was nice. And a 150 point vehicle inspection was conducted on the car. When I arrived a few days later to pick up the car, it was looking beautiful and ready for me. They did not rush me at all and any other questions or concerns I had were addressed with a smile. Every aspect of my purchasing experience was above my expectations. Even the small issue I had with the steering wheel tilt was fixed after I made my purchase. They included a 6 month warranty at no cost to me, for that extra peace of mind we all need. I really can't say enough about how refreshing it was to walk into this place and get the kind of service that was given to me. Sam really is a class act and Phil was very accommodating as well, changing out a small electrical part for me. They both work well together. I can see myself returning as a customer in the future. I feel very comfortable saying that I highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is reading this review. And to make it even better, they have a mechanic garage attached to their showroom. If I have any issues in the future, I feel good knowing I can bring the car right back here and they will help me with anything I need for my car.

I had a great experience with GIAC . I bought a 2008 BMW 128i and couldn't be happier. They accepted a trade in of an 05 BMW 325i. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable and made the process simple and quick .I did have an issue with the fuel pump but it was promptly taken care of at no charge to me and didn't claim on the warranty. I would definitely recommend purchasing a vehicle from GIAC. If they don't have what you want from their great selection of vehicles they will find one for you.

Knowledgeable staff: in every sense of the word. I came to Granville Island Auto looking with a very specific issue; I needed a vehicle that could take me up north for Tree Planting in the summer and something I could sleep in. Furthermore; I needed a vehicle that I could drive around town as a communter. My questions to Sam Taheri were a bit out of the ordinary, and I was a little worried I came off as goofy for asking them. But Sam listened with a lot of thoughtfullness and knowledge. We went over numerous vehicle options and eventually came up with two possibilites, a Toyota Venza from 2012, and a Mercedes ML 350 from 2003. While the Venza had some benefits, Sam was very realistic of what I would expect in taking it out to the bush. Although the Mercedes was a less expensive vehicle, Sam encouraged me to go for it due to it's higher clearance and more rugged capabilities. I also had a good conversation with a mechanic, Justin, who also owned a M class Merc for off-road purposes and was very knowledgable about it. The service was very friendly and professional, and I was also treated well by the mechanic Sam Currimbhoy. I even had an issue of an old Ford Van that I needed to sell. And thanks to some quick thinking on Sam Taheri's end, he was able to quickly locate a buyer who was able to take it off my hands as well. A great experience and I'm very happy to have this dealer in my neighbourhood!

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience. I recently purchased a 2004 BMW from GI Motors. Was told that it was mechanically sound as evidenced by their recent servicing. Car checked out on CarProof and all previous owners repair bills were provided. I declined the warranty because after taxes it was $2000 for 3yrs/35000kms. As I drive on average 40000kms a year, at the time this was not an ideal service for me. Within 3 days of purchase, both the check engine and battery lights were illuminated. Now yes, they did agree to fix these problems on the condition that I agree that anything occurring afterwards would be my problem. I thought, 'fine, what else could go wrong with a vehicle that was purportedly mechanically sound?'. Within 3 days after getting the car back, the check engine and coolant lights are now illuminated. Due to all the snow of late, of the 12 days that I have owned the car, I have driven 3 days for a total of 200kms. Between too much snow and it always needing repairs, this has been a total waste of $11000+. I emailed them why woeful tale and never received a response. Instead I am taking my car to Nixon Automotive to do a proper repair job and inspection. Sure I opted not to buy a warranty, but who the hell expects this many problems within 2 weeks a vehicle purchase. DO NOT EVER deal with Granville Island Motors or its parent company PS Motors. You were warned!

I don't write reviews very often but I thought I should share the great experience I had here. I was looking for a used Lexus sedan and found a 2010 Lexus ES 350 in immaculate condition with very low kilometers here. Sam offered me a fair trade in value for my existing vehicle as well as 6 months comprehensive warranty on the newer vehicle. The whole process including insurance transfer was effortless and within a couple days I drove out with my new Lexus. The vehicle's interior was well detailed and even included all weather mats. Sam sent me off with a full tank of premium gas. I will be coming back here for all my future maintenance work and will definitely be recommending this place to my family and friends.

I’m the pickiest guy when it comes to choosing a vehicle and the most sceptical person when buying something without seeing it first. Sam T helped me every step of the way. Completely honest in informing me about the condition of the vehicle, and pointing out specific details. He found the best and cheapest shipping quote, arranged and took care of everything and the car was delivered 1,700 km away where I received it in way better condition then expected. Paperwork and everything was made simple for me. I should mention that the vehicle showed up super clean, original and wasn’t covered is greasy chemicals that are supposed to cover flaws. I didn’t have to leave home on this whole journey. Had an absolute great day receiving my beautiful 07 Acura TL. I have been remiss in not posting this earlier. I bought a 2006 BMW 530i almost a year ago, through Sam Tehari. The purchase experience was excellent, the car was pristine and very fairly priced. I recently picked up my 2005 BMW 330ci cab. and am reasonably pleased with my experience and the vehicle. That being said I was less than pleased with $250 detail done. I should preface my comments by stating that I am very particular with my vehicles. I have even been know to complain about the delivery of new vehicles as well. I did however spend three hours cleaning the upholstery. They even forgot to vacuum under the spare tire. ( I said I was picky) But all in all Phil and Sam were great to deal with

Scam artists! Do not buy a vehicle here!!! They switch out the odometers on their vehicles and sell them as "low mileage vehicles". I bought an xterra here for top dollar with "130km" and had nothing but problems with it. After doing some research i found the vehicle actually has well over 200km. An actual legit car dealership can tell you the real kms of a vehicle. Don't fall for their lies and deception.

Sam communicated with me via phone and email until I arranged to fly to Vancouver to see the car in person. this is the first car i have purchased from GIAC. more often than not, buying a used car is one giant pain in the rear. buying from GIAC was the opposite. i think i bought a great car at a fair price. they walked me through all the records of the car so i could see the full history. nothing hidden. the purchase process was hassle free - I showed up, the car was spotless, fresh oil change, half tank of gas, and i was driving away in less than hour. no negative surprises. I dealt with sam...he was excellent. i will buy a car from GIAC again...they have an excellent selection of older, higher quality European cars.

I had been looking for a very specific year and kind of beetle for a while, and the staff there not only had a wide range of inventory for me to choose from, but they had the exact car I wanted. I wanted a convertible beetle with low km leather etc, and they not only had what I was looking for but they also helped guide me on what would be best for me as well as for my lifestyle. I purchased a 2007 BMW 328i. I had my eyes on three BMWs and Sam in Sales spent 2 hours with me going out for 4 test drives (I did one car twice). I never felt a hard sale culture. Half way through my re-test drive I said "this is the one". Sam's response -- "no hurry, you can take some time to think about it if you want". Definitely not hard sale tactic. Sam was determined to make sure I was completely satisfied and would have no regrets before driving away with my new car. The price was good, the car was in immaculate condition given its age, and the service was great.

This is a GREAT place to buy yourself a used car if you are like me -- not very knowledgeable about vehicles and how they drive and how much they're worth. I believe these guys are trustworthy -- yes they make a profit but they will not rip you off. A few years ago, Sam found a vehicle for my friend who didn't want to spend anything -- it cost her less than $1500 and it's still running three/four years later with no repairs. So I told him what I was looking for and what my price range was, and it didn't take him too long to find a 2005 Mazda3 for me in fine shape, one owner, and not too high mileage, good tires, and so on. They didn't have a whole lot of time with it in the shop, because I wanted it, and in the following weeks, I discovered a few little things like a headlight out and a clock that didn't work, and a strange sound when I turned left, but I just took it in and they fixed all of it free of charge and I've been driving it ever since with pleasure. So I highly recomment Granville Island Auto and the nice people who work there. They will do whatever they can to get you what you're looking for, and they'll do it with integrity and a genuine interest in you and your needs. THanks guys.

Wow, great experience. Just purchased a Merc SUV from Sam and Phil. Had looked at a couple of vehicles at P.S. over the years, and this one finally fit all the requirements. Unlike most auto dealerships, there was absolutely no pressure to purchase at P.S. Sam let me take the vehicle for a test drive several weeks ahead of the purchase. When I decided on getting a Pre Purchase Inspection, Sam was kind enough to have the vehicle delivered to the third party inspecting shop and picked it up when complete. There was no trying to convince me to buy the vehicle or telling me what a great buy it would be or trying to impress me with what a great car it would be. Completely up to me to make my own decision on my own time. When I picked the vehicle up, Sam had arranged for an insurance broker to be at P.S. and we did the registration and insurance right there. So convenient. Plus, the vehicle had been cleaned inside and out and they even filled the gas tank FULL!! Before I drove away both Sam and Phil walked me through the vehicle to make sure everything was working as it should. To protect my purchase, I opted to purchase the Lubrico 3 Year Warranty through Sam. Painless!! I would recommend P.S.Motors to anyone looking for a good used vehicle and doesn't want the pain of dealing with a sales person trying to push you into a purchase. Well done guys!!
