What's Living Here?

Took my car here for repair. Customer service was ok but they didn't really listen to me or let me explain in detail what was wrong with my car. Seemed rushed, I know a lot about cars so I wanted to point them in the right direction. In the end it wasn't really necessary as the guy that worked on my car figured out exactly what was wrong and fixed it. Nothing more nothing less. In the end I was very happy but customer service could try and listen to customers a bit more and give customers a bit more attention. Guys that worked on my car are awesome though. Thanks.

really glad I bought my truck out right so I dont have to go back there ever again. The service is horrible and they are horrible at communicating with there customer and them selfes and are very disfunical.. I have had nothing but problems with my vehicle and them since day one and am not impressed. I've always wanted a GM and after this first horrible experience it may be my last ! I have been in multiple times to get work done with my truck now and after pretty much nothing being accomplished I will most likely not be bring it back to them ever again ! Definitely would not recommend going there for any sort of reason!

Never treated better! Having vehicle issues late in the evening, I pulled into Peter Smith's lot and left my vehicle (the vehicle wasn't from Peter Smith and wasn't even a GM). I called the Service department to explain the issue the next day and they were understanding and willing to help. Jeff in Service offered to connect me with a salesman since I was no longer interested in owning the vehicle I was having issues with. Shortly after I was contacted by an excellent salesman (Rob Semark). The story ends with the purchase of two pre-owned vehicles in mint condition. My family was overwhelmingly happy with Rob and the team at Peter Smith. We were treated fairly, in an almost family way. Two unreliable vehicles out and an Chevy Silverado and Camaro now take there spots. Highly recommended!!!!

So about 3 week ago i had some issues with my 2018 Chevy Cruze, i took it in for an oil change and told them i thought something was wrong with it , they said it was fine,,,, so proceeded to drive my car around and could still hear what i though was wrong with it ,,, so i wrote a review saying my concerns were not addressed ... and much to my surprise i was contacted by HR department (ithink) telling me they apologize my concerns were not looked after.... they now offered my a free oil, lube and filter change next time needed and also to bring my car back to be look at in more detail... free of charge of course ...so when all said and done they did fine an issue, fixed the issue and treated me like a #1 customer ... i felt like i was important to them as a customer YaY!!! and Thank you <3

The very first time I put on mu parking brake it failed and would not release. They tried to blame me for the problem. Then my engine light went on. They tried to blame me for added bad DEF fluid. GM finally gave all that model year and extended 10 year / 190.000 km warranty because they cannot solve the problem. Now I'm in for a transmission problem. First they said it was two modules. That didn't fix. Then they said it was two broken wires. Three days later I made it 30 kms before it happened again. Of course they kept charging me... Let's see what they say tomorrow and how long it will take to get me on the road and if I have another of those unsolvable problems that I must keep paying for.

I purchased a new 2015 Chevy Malibu from Peter Smith. With less than 12,000 km on the vehicle it would not start periodically as the battery appeared dead. On my first service visit the battery was replaced, on the second I was told they could not find anything wrong with the car. I was stranded in Perth yesterday until GM road side assist arrived. If I can get an appointment today it will be my third service visit for this issue. It is tough getting Christmas shopping completed when your car may not start after any stop. This car also comes with the auto shut-off feature. I hope I don't get stuck at some random set of lights. More updates to follow. December 21, 2015 I called Peter Smith’s service department and talked with Ken (Service Manager). He indicated they would send a technician over right away to look at the car. After roughly 3 hours no one showed up so I boosted the car again and drove it over to the dealership. Ken apologized as he forgot to tell Corey to go over. Peter Smith now has my car and I am driving a 2016 Malibu from Enterprise car rental. Let’s see what happens next. Peter Smith's service department replaced the front (main) battery. This appears to have resolved the issue. After completing the work order they called our house to let us know the work was completed. It would have been nice if they left a message on our answering machine. The next day an email was sent to us. Unfortunately the email went into the gmail spam folder. After picking up the car I noticed a metal hooked on the wind-shield wiper blade. A closer look revealed a bungee cord hooked on the wiper blade going under to hood of the car. It was good I noticed this as we were heading out on the 401. Conclusion(s) 1. Knowledge base and basic trouble shooting of the service department needs improvement. 2. The service department technicians need to be thorough when completing work orders. Leaving a bungee cord attached to the wind-shield wiper blade was careless and potentially dangerous for the driver. 3. Communications to customers needs improvements. I would not recommend Peter Smith to others. Any further service requirements including the remainder of free oil changes will NOT be completed by Peter Smith service department.

Bought my first brand new car here in 2014. It started off ok but ended up being one of the biggest regrets of my life. I thought I could trust someone I knew personally, better than a stranger, but it turns out it just made me an easier target. As a former GM employee and a spouse of a current GM employee, I was not given the $1000 discount that was very clearly offered to employees and spouses and that I specifically requested. It didn't get any better. I have had more issues with this car than I ever have with a used vehicle. GM and Peter Smith have been taking advantage of someone that comes from a GM family. We are no longer buying GM vehicles and due to this bs, they have missed out on over $100,000 in new vehicle purchases. My vehicle is currently in for repairs again, leaving me with no means of transportation until they're done. I do not live in an area where there are buses or subways etc. I have NEVER once had a loaner vehicle when mine was in for repairs over a known issue...3 times now. Do not buy from Peter Smith GM in Belleville unless you want to have to go in for repairs minimum every 6 months at a cost of at least $2000 each time and want to feel like you would have been better off burning your money.

I was very disappointed with the sales staff of this dealership. Go some place else to buy a car!! I have been looking for a hybrid car to buy for some time and one of the salesmen called me to say they had two in stock and to call to set an appointment to see them. On the day I called the rep was off shift, but said I could go to the show room and any one could answer my questions and show me the cars. When I arrived I told the receptionist who I was and she called for a rep to come over. There was a group of them standing around talking. One came over, did not introduce himself asked me what I wanted, I told him I had been speaking to another rep, but wanted to see the cars and get information. He took my business card through it on his desk and told me to go outside and look at the cars, then walked away. I when outside the cars were locked so could do nothing, when i returned inside the rep was doing other things and had no interest in me. I asked the receptionist for brochures which she got and she proceeded to talk to a friend about some party she had gone to. So I left and when next door to the Hyundai dealer where they answered my questions and did a superb sales job on me.!!

I went in to buy a car, immediately was greeted as if I was not a serious customer. Even after passing the credit check I was still spoken to as someone who could not afford a new vehicle. Was denied a test drive due to ‘liability’ reasons which I have never been refused a test drive before. When I insisted on a car I wanted I was told to maybe look at a cheaper option. I would not buy a vehicle here and would not suggest anyone to attempt to.

Last fall, I had a check engine light and went to the service department to have it looked at. I was told by Greg that it was a glitch and not to worry about it. On my way back to Trenton... the check engine light came back on. So I went to McCurdy Chevrolet. They told me that the oil pump wasn't working anymore and that I was lucky that I came in right away. They fixed the problem that could have cost me a lot more. I will not bringing back my Cadillac to Peter Smith even for a n oil change.

I brought my Cadillac in for service because my tire pressure was low. I thought it might be the sensor. As I wait to find out the problem, the service person tells me the mechanic said there is a nail in the tire to close to the wall. They can’t fix it. I would have to purchase two new tires as the car is front wheel drive. The tires would cost about $360.00 each, they would have to order them if I were to get the work done. I decided to wait told them I needed to think about it. I will check somewhere closer to home. I ended up bringing my car to a tire shop in my town. I asked them to look at it, told him there was a nail in the tire. I was told from dealer I need two new tires they couldn’t fix it. He looked at the car told me. You don’t need two new tires at all, the nail is in the tread of the tire. I can fix it. The cost is less then $50.00 When you bring the vehicle in they are pleasant the service people are nice. They were just passing on the message from the mechanic. I will never bring my car back to this dealership . I thought it was important to write this review so others are aware. Because of the experience I had, I am disappointed and angry that I could have been taken advantage of. I have no trust in this dealership It’s disgraceful. I will be going to another Cadillac dealership in the future. Just be cautious when taking your car for service.

I'm the general manager of an industrial maintenance company outside of Toronto. We had one of our older trucks break down near Belleville so we brought it to this dealership to have it checked. The estimate.... $12k, with all sorts of problems "found", faulty transmission, etc. So we had it towed to our regular mechanic... $440 to fix everything. What a bunch of shysters. AVOID THIS PLACE FOR SERVICE. Just shocking this nonsense.

I went here last week and was ready to buy the red Silverado that was on site. I stood out there for 20 mins or longer and no one even bothered to come see me. Oh well, I like my jeep from Ralph Neale's a lot better anyways. Best part is 2 of my friends bought new at Belleville dodge the next day after hearing how great the competition is.

Went to look at a Cadillac SRX, salesperson was nice, pleasant individual. When it came time to negotiate, he presented our offer to the sales manager Greg Jones. We were close to agreeing on a final price, when Greg came in and said he meant "north of what his previous lower offer was". Should have left at that point. Had one rear hub replaced already for electronic stabilizer. One day my wife locked the car, went into the store, came out an all the power windows were down. Will never buy another vehicle from there.

Called in to schedule first service for my new truck. Say in a perpetual cycle of bank back to the reception because no-one in service could be bothered to answer the phone. After a few times of this, I got reception yet again who told me “hopefully” someone would answer this time. When I tried to respond, the employee “Diane” simply yelled over me. When told that she should proceed, whatever I had to say was obviously less important, “Diane” laughed at me. Then Diane told me that they were understaffed. When I responded, again respectfully, that her staffing was not my problem and that I ensured adequate staffing at my workplace, Diane yelled over me and stated “I don’t have to listen to this” and slammed the phone down. I have a truck that needs first service, and it appears Smith isn’t prepared to do the service that’s “Free”. Sigh. Maybe GM will buy it back and I can get a dodge, ford, Nissan, Toyota. I’m told you can get them serviced

PLEASE avoid this dealership at all cost KEN MONTGOMERY Refuses to do warranty work They told me my vehicle needed 3000 worth of work and even though it has 20,000 km its not covered ?? I refused to have them fix it and took it to a local mechanic The local Mechanic called me the next day to my Surprise they told me my vehicle would only be 380 plus tax ???? That is a long way from 3000 PETER SMITH GMC I really hope the family gets involved in this business and makes it the place it once was ( A great family ran Business!!!! ) it seems like KEN is ruining what Peter worked so hard to achieve

My husband and I had originally set out to try and find a new vehicle for myself in Kingston but thought we’d check locally before we headed that way. We had been watching locally for a month or two prior. When we pulled up on the lot noticed some new inventory. After a few minutes sales rep Mark Hudson came out to see if we needed some assistance. He was very helpful and friendly and was also extremely knowledgeable on all the technological aspects of the vehicle we ended up choosing as it had all the bells and whistles. He literally went through all the computerized aspects with me as my old vehicle was older and did not have any of those features. I’d have to say what impressed me the most is we were looking at 2 vehicles and the one was quite a bit more expensive than what we chose and he still felt the less expensive one would actually suit my needs better. I appreciated his honesty. Once home I had difficulties getting my Satellite radio set up and he walked me through that as well. I am very happy with my purchase and the friendly service I received and glad to have been able to support local business.

Bought our vehicle there a while back. Recently had transmission problems (would not move). Called on 14 Nov was told they could see it 29 Nov. Offered no other solutions. They can't seem to hire a few unskilled workers to change all the snow tire appointments they have. I guess when you buy chev and it goes down in mid Nov don't expect to get it fixed for 2 weeks. Their past repairs have been sloppy too including not mounting interior mouldings properly. Will also never forget my first and last oil change there, waited almost an hour only to have the tech come in and tell me I needed new brakes (like they always do). I said to wait on it, then asked if they were done with the oil, hadn't even started! Oh, and you never get charged less than full price either, like to $2.50 enviro fee for throwing out a window latch that fits in the palm of your hand. Nickel and dime to death.

Found myself and my partner, and our 1 year old puppy, stranded in Belleville with an awful used car I'd just bought for our move to the East Coast. The engine light had come on and... long story short, it was not worth fixing. Thankfully the team at Peter Smith had our back. Not only were they able to look at our deadbeat car within a couple hours that we pulled in, but Mark and Amanda pulled miracle after miracle to get us on our way for the next day when it became apparent that we needed a new vehicle. Mark showed us what eventually became our very own 2021 GMC Terrain, and had it prepped, plates on, full tank, ready to go at 10:30 the next morning when he picked us up from the hotel. He showed us how to work our new spaceship of a vehicle (which, there was a lot to learn!), and he worked to get us every deal possible and took care of my ratty, never to be mentioned again, old dead car. And what can I say about Amanda? She found probably the only dog friendly hotel room in the area, and made all the paper work of leasing a brand new spaceship/car easy as pie. I can't thank them and the rest of the Peter Smith crew enough, they were so kind while I was crying on and off all afternoon (ha, the stress!!!) and were so accommodating as we toted our lil dog around, providing him water and pets, keeping him calm despite the stress. Everything happens for a reason, and we are so grateful and appreciative that we had Mark and Amanda there for us in our moment of need. Two days later, whilst driving through the rains of Hurricane Ida in New Brunswick, we joked that the old car wouldn't have made it that far and were glad we had our spaceship for our first hurricane drive.

Took car in for one problem. Couldn't be done before I left town, but thanks to these guys breaking a piece while investigating had a worse repair than I originally had. Just had another conversation with the service manager and he is not willing to do anything about this. Do not take an older car here whatever you do as you know older cars break. The only reason to give one star is the politeness of reception
