I was interested in the 2020 civic hatchback shown on their current new car inventory on their website, I requested a quote and received a text message about booking an appointment. I proceeded with the booking, then received a voicemail from a sales agent that they double booked me. I texted the customer service number back to reschedule same time next day, proceeded about my business, went to work and then straight to Barrie after work for my appointment only to find I had been double booked again, AND the car I was interested in was not even onsite. I looked at the 2019 hatchback they had on site and mentioned an issue I had with spots on the bumper that appeared to be rust. The sales person straight up said it's not rust because it's a vinyl bumper. Fine, but please tell me what it is... he did not have any explanation other than telling me it would buff out. Overall, I did not enjoy the experience, too many cooks in the kitchen if you ask me.

I took my brand new crv in for maintenance and the service was amazing. But having to wait 2 hours with a 5 month old. This was their ONLY change table. If they had time to write " do not use" hopefully they called a plumber too. If i didnt already purchase my new car, I would probably go with another dealership.

Went to look at a used mini cooper they had in on trade. When I asked John (sales rep) to hoist it up for me, he told me it was illegal for a customer to enter the shop which is a lie. He was rude from the start but it became obvious something wasn't right with the car when he would not allow me to inspect it. Edit: Their response is also a lie, you are protected by the Ontario consumers act, all I needed to do is sign a waiver in order to go in. It's standard practice at any shop and is a legal requirement. Instead your salesman lied saying it was illegal.

I usually get help from the parts department and just the answers I need. Standard labour but actually fairly pleased with the Honda dealer experience rather than totally avoid like I did with Volkswagen.

I've been trying to get through to the parts dept. at Barrie Honda for over 2 hrs. Noone is picking up the phones. Where is the receptionist? This is my first time "trying" to deal with Barrie Honda. I am not impressed! UPDATE: When I went in everyone was super helpful and friendly. I'll give them 5 stars for their service. The one star is for not answering the phone.

Terrible experience with this Honda dealership. They are very disorganized and have terrible communication. They blame the customers, and don't take responsibilities for their mistakes. I would stay away, there are better dealerships who actually value your money. We called to inquire about a car and made an appointment only to be told that it was sold after we arrived at the dealership. We made the appointment, and even called coming to the dealership to make sure they had it in stock so we don't waste our time. When we arrived, we were told that it was sold a week before our appointment was even made. We called before the appointment to inquire about the car, after the appointment, and before we left and they lied to us all the way through. When we got to the dealership, we were left waiting for 15 minutes and were only addressed by Luis because he was passing by. There was no one at the front. After speaking to Luis, he tried to blame us, and say that when we inquire about a car, we have to come the same day because it can get sold. Mind you, we made the appointment 2 days ago, and he told us the car was sold more than a week ago. Even if we came on the day we made the appointment, the car would've been sold. It was only then he realized that they made a mistake, and stopped blaming us. We didn't even get an apology. Maybe next time, instead of misleading customers, double check your information before making customer drive an hour and waste gas and time to visit your dealership. Never again will I come back. Completely untrustworthy, and dishonest. I would've coughed it up as a simple mistake, but 3 phone calls to confirm only to find that it was sold a week ago is no mistake. They simply don't care, and will tell you anything to get you into their dealership or off the phone. Go elsewhere. Edit: Seems like a generic response from the owner. We did email the GM when Honda emailed us saying " Sorry you missed your appointment". They honestly don't care. How insulting is it to get a generic response from an owner, and getting an automated message from Barrie Honda for "missing your your appointment" after everything that happened. It just shows how much they don't care. GM doesn't reply either. Basically avoid this dealership. Thankfully we didn't buy the car, I can only imagine what kind of service you would receive if you needed support.

My first time owning a Honda vehicle and I was blown away by the service received. Service advisor Linda gave an outstanding customer service. I had made an appointment to get some work done on my brakes and an oil change; however, my a/c started blowing hot air. I was advised that Honda had a warranty on my a/c condenser and that's probably the case. I had requested to add those details to my work order and was advised its not a guarantee that the a/c will be fixed at that time. Went to pick up my car later on the appoitment day and everything was working again. I was super elated to have back my a/c during the heat wave because it was affecting my health. Great service!

Absolutely terrible service at this dealership time after time, I have had multiple problems with my 2020 Honda Civic EX. The car has been to the service centre 15+ times since late 2020, absolute joke getting a call from the advisor saying that your car has been fixed and then going there time after time to the problem still being there. Honestly disgusting, between my family and I this is the 7th Honda we have purchased over the years and after my terrible experience over the past 7 months we will no longer be driving Hondas in the future. Take your business else where!

Barrie Honda provides you with empty promises. Making you do Financing (which is a big hit to your credit) before they even have your car when they promise they will have one by the end of the week. Surprise surprise they didn't. Ended up going to another dealer who was much more helpful and HONEST. Barrie only cares about their deal not the customer. Watch out!

I love Honda vehicles, they have been proven very dependable for me over the years. In my time, I've leased 2 and owned 3. Unfortunately other than Hakan my sales guy, Barrie Honda has offered very poor service both in the finance and service departments (price and recall help). If you are reading this Barrie Honda, you need to review your phone call return policy and work on much better customer service. Like other people on here, I've called various times about various things and rarely if ever have been called back. On the majority of occasions and after leaving a message with a service, or a person, I still get no reply at all, or it'll be a few days later. Despite pandemic excuses, I'm considering my next Honda purchase at a different dealership. Simple courtesy goes along way.

I have previously bought a vehicle from Barrie Honda and had an ok experience. When I went back in to look at a Pilot it was a completely different story. John Musicco was the salesman I spoke to and went on a test drive with. After asking me what kind of vehicle and package I wanted to look at (Pilot Touring) he said “well don’t ask me for an Odyssey we don’t have any left”. We got in to the vehicle and he talked over me most of the time when I told him I was familiar with how the features worked because my current vehicle has them. He wouldn’t let me drive the vehicle on the highway and I was given a test drive that was about 3 km and no highway after I said I did do a lot of highway driving. When they were looking over my vehicle for trade when we were back in the showroom the man who does the assessments continued to ask me questions about my vehicles features so I told him the exact model, package and upgrades on my current vehicle and that it was only missing the night vision package from Audi. He began to laugh at me when I stated that. I asked him what was so funny and he had no response. I wasn’t going to worry about posting a review until I got an email from the general manager asking for feedback, I replied with the same info and never heard a response back. I cant help but think if I was a middle aged man walking in to this dealership instead of a 25 year old female I would have received better service, been able to drive the vehicle on the highway and would not have been laughed at when stating info about my vehicle. VERY disappointed Barrie Honda. You need to do better and teach your staff to do better.

I had the pleasure of purchasing a barely used 2017 Honda Civic LX over the course of the past week from Barrie Honda. My sales associate was John Dennis, and I cannot express how thorough he was with providing exceptional customer service the entire time. From the second I walked in the doors, he made me feel welcome, and made sure any/all questions, or concerns I had were addressed without hesitation. After the initial deal was made, I ran into some issues with the financial advisor, after they failed to respond to me the day before I was to pick up my vehicle. John went over and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of, got the manager to contact me personally, and even came to my house to pick me up, despite all the extra work he had already done, which was not his to do to begin with. If you do end up coming to Barrie Honda to look for your next vehicle, I highly recommend asking for John Dennis, as he really is the human embodiment of what customer service should look like. Although I really hope no issues arise with the vehicle anytime soon, I know I can contact John if it does in order to be properly taken care of. Bonus points that the guy drums, and is into all the classic rock legends.

We called service department for 5 days, left a message but no reply. We booked service schedule on web, 10:30 in the morning, but the message was that you have to leave it there no promise to finish the same day. We leave 40 minutes out of city, no service to give rid or pick you up, then we were there an hour earlier, left the car, after 4 hours car was the same spot we left. Why they do it on line or book an appointment when they can't stand on their word? What is use for appointment if they don't have the facility to do the job. For less than an hour work they charge almost $250 before taxes, & one whole day of my time! Who is going to pay for my waste of time there, they better have good management first then advertise their dealership ????????

From the sales part of it they were ok but a male figure was needed to ensure that my mature daughter in her mid 20's was taken care of properly. She didn't require financing and was an all-cash deal. She feels slighted and mistreated. Customer service doesn't end at the purchase of the car and expect the vehicle, especially under warranty and notified within days, there are issues. Now the game of tag begins and no one is returning her call and being told "not their department" and need to speak to "x". This finger pointing is not acceptable, this is her first car and we expect proper, accountable service to continue. Sensing her frustration for these minor things to be repaired, this mama bear is stepping in. All customers should be treated equally and especially in this time, regardless of age and gender. As of now, the 1 star stands and trust this will be resolved in a timely manner and customer service and after sales steps up. This leaves a very sour taste in her mouth and taking away from her joy of her hard work doing this herself.

He listened to my concerns and followed through on my service. Service people like Dan Robson just don’t exist anymore in my experience. I can tell my horror stories of other manufacturers dealerships but I’ll spare the details. I would highly recommend this dealership. The mechanics clearly take pride in their work as well. Great job Honda Barrie???? ???? ???? We got a 2013 pre owned Honda Piolet about 2 years ago from here. I wish I wrote this review sooner. The purchase process went quite smooth and was quick. After we brought the car home we had a lot of issues. The window has SEVERAL cracks and chips in it. After I brought it back to the service center I was pretty much laughed at and said too bad. After making a HUGE deal about it and speaking with a few managers they offered to replace it. On top of that the car was absolutely disgusting inside. The front was clean but the back had a rotten orange under the seat, old sandles, moldy crackers/chips, and an old phone that the battery corroded through. Also a lot of the previous owners documents dated back to 2016. If you buy a used car MAKE SURE THEY CLEAN IT!! I'm still finding garbage and old rotten food in some of the pockets. I'll never be buying another car from there. The service center people are rude, lazy and no one seems to care about their clients/customers. GO ELSE WHERE!!!

We called this location in the beginning of May to book an an appointment for oil change, no one has called us back, left 2 more messages, 3 weeks later no one responded. Got a live person on the phone and she promised someone will get back to us next day, we waited for 2 more weeks - no one called us. E-mailed the manager in July, he wouldn't even care to reply. It shouldn't take 2 months and several calls to have oil changed. If you need to service your vehicle go elsewhere, this location is a total waste of time. We called Newmarket and had it booked right away for the same week.

Bought a "Certified Preowned" CR-V from here in July and the test drive and purchase process went well. Now less than a month later, the car engine sputters when starting and half the dashboard warning lights turn on as I'm currently stuck in a parking lot. Service department doesn't respond to multiple messages and it's going to cost me a tow for them to look at it...possibly tomorrow? Had good rapport over the years but this leaves a black mark for sure.

Worst dealership you can ever go to. I bought a car there in February 2021, since then I have had problems with this car it completely shuts off while driving and they is nothing you can do about. I have brought it to the dealership about 8 times now they all just tell me we don’t really know what’s wrong with or claim they have fixed the issues and it Continuous happens. I have almost got it to 6 accident due to the car shutting down at random times and stepping on the gas nothing happens and I have expressed my concerns to the general manager Rob Walker and he basically only tells me this things are machines and we can’t do anything about that. I have repeatedly told him this car is not safe and shouldn’t be on the road as I have almost lost my life 6 times due to this vehicle and he doesn’t express any care about it at all. I have asked him if I can do a trade for a different car or get my money back and he refuses Don’t ever buy a vehicle from this dealership go to another brand or even go to a different dealership. If you do buy a vehicle from this dealership you are buying a car that is guaranteed to risk your life and the others around you

I was there with my crv last month . I changed my tires and fix tie rod. They requested me to check alignment in Acura because they didn’t have the rack . I did check alignment and they said there is some problem for alignment. Honda people already told me only needed to check alignment then good to go . When I notified them this problem suddenly they said it need to be change something else worth $600. Where already paid $2000 to fix and new tires. I asked them okay you can change whatever problem is but you have to take care of the money to check alignment again . They refused for that and if I needed to fix I have to wait for two days . Really feel very sad .

If you are buying a new car, ask for Vanessa Brito. My wife an I recently bought a car from Barrie Honda and were extremely happy with Vanessa's outstanding service. Although it was only her second day on the job, we had visited 4 other car dealership's that day and dealt with 4 other sales people but Vanessa won our sale. The other salespeople were uninterested in selling cars or answering our questions, trying to sell us what we didn't want, but Vanessa didn't try to push upsells on us, or pressure us towards other models that we didn't want. She was extremely patient, got expedient answers to all of our questions and listened to us and found us the deal we wanted. Booked in for new winter tires on rims a month before Nov 12th. Arrived at the dealer to have the tires put on and was told 2 hrs before they could get the car in. I should have know this would happen. When we purchased our car in the summer from this dealer they told us to come down and pick it up at 5:30 pm. I even called in the morning of the day to assure it would be ready as we had a 30 minute drive. When we arrived we were told they missed the service and that it would be two hours more. They gave us a Tim Horton's card for a coffee. When we came back after an hour we were told again that the work would take longer and ended up giving us a loaner car. We own 4 Honda's and are very happy with the product. If you want to purchase a Honda go to another dealer.

Consistent inadequate customer service. Trying to get in touch with their service department is like pulling teeth, and this has been an issue since before the pandemic. When you can finally get in touch with them they then only present half the story. An example of this is when asking about the courtesy shuttle service, they told me it was running again but failed to mention I would need to book a spot. This left me in the situation of either walking home or waiting a very long time despite the fact I was one of the first customers to check in that day. It’s almost as if they don’t actually want to have you as a customer. The guy who acts as check in for the service centre has close to zero interpersonal skills. Overall they do nothing to make you confident of good service from start to finish.

Horrible experience. This dealership is what gives car salesman a bad name. No communication between departments and customers. Blame always put onto another department. Was told the vehicle I purchased would be ready for pick up on multiple different occasions over a 3 week period and it ended up never being ready. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Ended up having to back out of the deal because I just couldn't be lied to anymore or waste my time traveling to the dealership to then be told it still not ready. While picking up my deposit was met with rude comments about how "they actually have the cheque ready and waiting" Definitely will never mention to anyone to purchase a vehicle from this place. Can't rate lower then 1 star but sure should be

I booked in on weekend, show up and i'm told there will be a 3 hour wait. I was never told it could be that long of a wait with appointment. I would definitely NOT recommend Barrie Honda. I had so many problems with the appointment booking etc. I then went to look at a car and had the displeasure of having to deal with Tom. He was not professional and certainly hasn't heard of social distancing (if you can smell somebodies breath then they are definitely too close). There are so many negative adjectives I could use to describe this man that it would be hard to fit them all into this review. He brought the car around and never mentioned that it had been sanitized etc, he proceeded to touch everything and then gave me the keys (not a Lysol wipe in sight). I took it for a test drive and wasn't impressed with the vehicle either. I have nothing good to say about my experience. I gave it one star as it wouldn't let me post the review with zero stars. The next day I made an appointment at Moffat's Mazda and couldn't have had a more different experience, they were so professional and helpful and fully understood the Covid-19 situation. Sorry Barrie Honda you really have to do better!!!!!!

Amendment: I spoke too soon with reviewing my Barrie Honda experience. The headlights on my car do not function properly and this is part of the safety certificate. I have taken the car back a couple of times and they have provided me with a loaner car which is nice, but they don't want to fix the problem. The lights turn on and off but they don't illuminate the road at night which makes the car not usable at night. I suspect the fix for this is more than they want to spend to make it right. So, not a good experience.

Bought a brand new off the show room lot car. Went to pick it up. The whole front fender was damaged, clearly done at the shop when they were "cleaning it up" They tried to blame us. But agreed (reluctantly) to repair it. But wouldn't compensate us in any other way. When I went back to pick up my car again, the wax they used had left a whole bunch of white streaks all over my car. Its been 2 weeks and they will not return my calls. What a nightmare. We will never purchase it again

The only reason they got a 1 star is because I can't give them a zero. The worst experience I've ever had with a dealer. Not just once but every single time I deal with them. After trying to book an appointment for two weeks, which happens every time I need an appointment, I finally gave up and went to Dalt's Honda in Orillia, 30 minutes away. On my last visit they misdiagnosed the problem, requiring a second visit. They don't have their shuttle running due to Covid, but they also don't pay for Uber or taxi's, which other dealers here in Barrie do pay for.

My wife and I recently bought a Honda Civic from Barrie Honda, and to say the east, I was not impressed with, John, our salesperson. Although the car is for both of us, my wife uses it for the majority of the time. We told this to our salesperson and he proceeded to barely say two words to me during our two hour visit, preferring to speak only to my wife. Once we had made the deal to lease the vehicle, John introduced my wife to the financial rep. and then looked at me, and said, I quote, "what's your name again?" I should have walked out of the deal right then and there. On the day of pick up John took my wife out to show her the vehicle and when they returned, he did not even have the decency to come over and thank me for the business. i had to go and find him to say thanks, where he reluctantly shook my hand and thanked me. Worst salesperson ever. He was arrogant and condescending. I will never buy another vehicle from this person or this dealership. Time for some retraining on how to deal with customers correctly and not just worrying about making the sale John.

Sales staff are amazing service department is the worst I've ever experienced. heavily front loaded with useless staff that point finger on owners and not enough mechanics. express lube is 2-3 hours of wait, and appointment times are meaningless. 4-6 week wait for an appointment that is an all day event because you time is meaningless. they overbook service appointments. my appointment today is for 1030 that i scheduled 5 weeks ago the service rep said my car won't be in till 430.

I have been a 20 year customer of Barrie Honda. My 2018 CRV needed tires replaced after 30,000km which is a known issue but not a recall with Honda. I dealt with Honda Canada for a tire replacement, which I still was responsible for 50% of the cost. I was told to deal with Barrie Honda service manager Paul Arnold to arrange the tire replacement. As a 20 year client I felt that Barrie Honda should cover the other 50% of the cost due to faulty tires. I have NEVER heard back from Paul until this day so I emailed the manager Rob Walker to try to get this resolved and a week later I still have not heard from him either! I have since bought used tires to get me through the remainder of my lease. This is the WORST customer service I have ever received at any business. I guess a 20 year customer isn't important enough to them. I will never purchase another car from Barrie Honda and certainly never recommend them to anyone else.

Just an awful dealer to TRY and do business with for anything regarding parts or repairs.. First issue is trying to call into the place is notoriously bad, I asked multiple people I know if they had the same experience and they’ve had it for years, so not just a covid thing. Nobody answers the phone, and the 2 times I did, I got transferred elsewhere to a voicemail. And nobody has ever called back on a voicemail and I left at least 4 with 3 different desks. You have to go in to get anything done. Second, they won’t do damage repairs with insurance? Told me they’ve never done that before and referred me elsewhere, I just needed a headlight replaced. When it wasn’t insurance they gave me a quote no problem, then I said I was going to get insurance to cover the cost they turned around and said no. Third, blatant paid reviews on google… avoid this place for maintenance and repairs.

Set up my appointment for 8am through email as Barrie Honda will not speak on the phone. I told them i will be waiting and wanted to be one of the first cars looked at. The vehicle was scheduled for just regular maintenance. Not a big job. Dropped vehicle off at 745 am day of the appointment. Went for a walk and returned 1 hour 45 min to find my vehicle still parked in the same place. Asked how long until it will be looked at, said we need it for the day we’re really booked up. Took my Odyssey in on Nov 10/20 for regular maintenance and two recalls. At about 3 pm or so, I received a call saying the car was ready for pickup and all work completed. Trusting them I got there, paid the bill and drove home. On reviewing the bill at home, I noticed that only one of the two recalls was completed. The second recall work was not mentioned. It’s annoying to notice this, and no one at the dealer had the courtesy to let you know. When I called the office, i get the usual message about staff shortage due to Covid 19, and I couldn’t talk to anyone. I sent off an email, and there was no reply. This dealer is no longer the greatest....will look for other options.

They did not reset the oil life and again I asked them to fix a squeek in the back door handle on driver side and they said it is fine but still not fixed. I will fix it myself. At the time I was wanting to purchase my new 2020 Civic Si Coupe, Barrie Honda was the closest dealership that had one in my preferred color. Being 5+ hours away in Ottawa might have made the purchase process a hassle, however Quinn responded very quickly to my requests and questions over text prior to purchasing what for me, is a special car. No BS, no painful upselling, I knew exactly what I wanted and he was respectful in that regard. Car & Quinn were waiting for me as soon as I arrived and it took maybe 15 minutes to complete the paperwork before I was driving off the lot since Quinn had helped to ensure I had everything done prior to making the drive to Barrie. If you have money to spare and you like things to be unnecessarily complicated take your vehicle here. They assume everybody has no clue about autos and so they spin their web. I recently brought a very defective tire in and their solution was buy a whole brand new set of 4. As a Honda employee for over 20 years this dealership is truly disappointing.

Terrible experience. Don't go there. They don't receive phones. When i got there on the morning of Sep 29 for oil change, there was only 1 staff there who kept talking on the phone, totally disregarding my presence for 10mins until next customer showed up. Finally he answered; For oil change, you have to leave your car for the day and should come back the next day for pick up. No shuttle nor uber service. You can make a booking for oil change, still you can pick up your car the next day. Then, what is the point of booking? Terrible car dealership.

Went in to get an oil change and to get winter tires installed. I told service rep that I purchased new wiper blades in September and they were terrible. He told me after inspection that they were fine. They were not! I went back and went directly to parts, they gave me new ones at no cost. This time I put them on myself, and they are perfect. Tells me that they were never replaced in the first place. When I went to pick up my car for the oil change/ tire installation and brake maintenance, I was asked by the service rep if I felt shaking in my steering wheel when I applied the brakes. I said that I did not. He then said “Well, we machined them for you, free of cost”. Fine. But, when I looked at my bill it stated: *Customer requests technician test drive and check for steering wheel and seat shaking when braking after driving for a while. I NEVER SAID THIS! Due to this and the wiper blades, I will take my business to either Orillia or Newmarket from now on.

I have been a Honda driver since I started driving, never had an issue with my civic until I tried to make a warranty claim for my wheel and rim. I purchased extra warranty coverage for it but what I was told was covered and what was actually covered was apparently different. I was told I was going to receive phone calls and left messages twice with no call back. Had to go into the dealership to check on the status of my claim and the service advisor I was dealing with was incredibly rude. I definitely will not be taking my vehicle here anymore for services or issues.

I made an appointment to see a car on their lot and when I arrived the car was sold. I took a day off and drove 2 and a half hours each way to come see this specific car and it was sold 2-3 days earlier. Nobody there could give me a 30 second phone call to tell me that the car was sold?????? The sales manager didn't tell me who he was at the time and made up some story about talking to the "sales manager" when I said how upset I was about the fact that nobody called me. He obviously didn't want to deal with the situation. There was also no offer of any compensation for something that was clearly a mistake on their part that ended up costing me time and money. I think offering to pay for my fuel for the trip would have been at least some compensation for their mistake. I will be looking elsewhere for my next vehicle and recommending that others avoid this dealership based on this experience.
