Even though this location is further than others from my home I have been going here more often because of the service, layout and staff that work at this location. I hope they continue the great work and I will continue to use this location for my primary grocery shopping for our family.

The establishment was well kept and well organized. I was able to find my malt bread to bring back home to Winnipeg with me (so THANK YOU so much). However, once again the cashier seemed less impressed to have to serve customers. Not sure why people hire grumpy staff to be in the front line of serving customers. I would have given 5 stars, but miserable cashier knocked it down 2 stars. Might need to consider more friendlier cashiers and leave the frumpy ones in the stock room. Also, cashier forgot to ask if I wanted to redeem my points and when I asked to redeem, it shouldn't be an inconvenience to her to click Cancel and process it as it should have been asked to begin (as I had $90 in points). A smile goes a long way. Ty.

I love Chris' Independent store. It's the only grocery store I go to.They have a pharmacy,the staff there are great they always answer my questions on the medication I take or any other product that I'm not sure of.The staff in the store are great and awesome.If I need something and I can't find it, they'll help me find it.If I say good morning or good afternoon to them, they always say it back and I'll say have a great day and stay safe and healthy and they always say the same to me too.The meat department and the the produce department are great and always fresh.I go Food Basic because they have my jam ED Smith,my Celestial lemon zinger tea bags and your independent doesn't have it.If anybody asks me which store I prefer, I always say Your Independent on Lorne street.Thank you for your service.

Garden supplies very low in in supplies but the staff does assist you the best they can until shipments arrive unfortunately the plants were not up to par half of them dry and wilting from the Sun and lack of support from the staff.

Nice store, small and clean. Great selection, but prices are a bit higher than anywhere else, such as Superstore, or Food Basics. Staff are helpful and thorough. They have a hot meal counter with different styles of chicken, potato wedges, cold salads, and lots of other options. They advertise selling Joe Fresh clothing, but it just seems to be children's sizes. Kinda disappointing.

This place is very clean and organized. They're stock buys and girls, are doing an awesome job facing everything, and having enough cashiers to service everyone at a fast and reasonable pace. Also, I have noticed my produce last longer when I purchase them here than any other Market in town. Definitely would recommend this store above all other stores. It is a little more pricey, but the extra Buck is worth the atmosphere you shop in.

Absolutely amazing customer service here. Kevin, the manager I usually deal with, has accommodated my bulk pre-orders, as I shop for others and buying in bulk makes it so much easier. What ever I need, I let him know the commodity and he does his best to accommodate me without taking it off the shelf from other customers. Product in your produce I could not buy .mainly because nothing on shelf .Grapes ,bananas, celery was very old looking & feeling , so many others . I was there for 8 am when I left at 10.45 shelfs looked the same.very poor product availability in produce dept very disappointed.

A great one stop store with a little bit of everything. The store is huge with spacey aisles. There are 2 size shopping carts; one smaller for ur quick visit and a larger one for ur larger shops. There is an awesome deli and bakery, produce offers great fruit and veggies, organic or not with many precut selections. There is a lovely fresh seafood and meat dept. Besides groceries u can buy household goods, electronics, clothing, seasonal goods, there is a pharmacy and wine also available. It is wheelchair accessable. Staff are friendly. It costs more to shop this store..

update: I asked the produce guy what the difference was between black kale or the green, and he said 'dunno', so I said "well I will take the organic one"...he says, "sure if you enjoy paying extra for for nothing" .... ???? Seriously? LOL I just replied, "its a personal choice I guess". :p Star review is now '1'. Hoping it improves still. But they got rid of a few favorites and low stock of others. Initial review: Is it the owner change that makes this store feel 'off'? I loved Dumas, but since it has been 'Chris' it seems to not be measuring up to Dumas' high standards. Some products are changed...atmosphere in general has a downer feel..First time today I waited for deli service and no one showed so I left after 5 min. Will alter my view if I am proven wrong...maybe growing pains? Time will tell. At least there are other choices.

My friend has informed me of this location as one of the worst stores to enforce social distancing and wearing facial coverings in Ontario. He came in this morning, seeing that the store was packed, meaning there was no occupancy limit either, and saw that almost no one was wearing facial coverings, a failure in enforcement of wearing facial coverings. Though I do not know if this is enforced, it should be. These are times where a virus is killing and infecting people because of this. There was no social distancing, not even two meters. Is that so much to ask for? Whoever is the manager on site should be ashamed of themselves.

This my grocery store. Even though they have only one piddly washroom for customers, it IS wheelchair accessible But this store is awesome anyway, tons of stuff and a decent selection of Joe kiddie stuff. I like the Deli. I love the Mac and Cheese although strangely, there is no medium size. Just small and large. Finally, the staff are all super nice. They even sympathize with you when you try and figure out just how much you love Mac n Cheese... its either a little or a lot cuz there ain't no in between! i suggest choosing a lot (large). Yeah. This store is awesome!

This is my favourite YIG in the city. Its clean, well stocked, staff is very helpful and friendly and the check out lines are fast. I've been coming here for years and I've recognized the same staff so the turnover rate is low. Its not as crazy on weekends as other grocery stores. The prices are a bit higher so be wary, check the weekly flyers and stick to your list because it adds up fast. ????

i shop at the YIG on Lorne Street. Always friendly and aim to please, especially the bakery department. I stopped going to the one on regent street, because the bakery department especially, don’t put themselves out for anyone. Anything you Ask about is a ordeal for them. Pretty uninterested in helping. This has been on several occasions, so we drive a little further for better service

A good grocery store w a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and a very well stocked deli providing meats and seafood to your desire. Also has a lunch area wich makes full ready to eat lunches or solo sandwiches to take home suppers that are ready to eat or simply need to be heated. They have a small book section, a larger magazine section and a flowers and plants section, a clothing section and many other items besides grocery and sundry.

Ordered a dinosaur cake $36.99 for my grandson, very little detail, not like the picture, said Happy 3 Lorenzo instead of 3rd, asked for red trim on top and bottom got blue, called to mention all this very nicely to the girl that answered and had to ask for an apology before she hung up!!! Years ago I had a bad experience with this bakery and thought I'll give it another try, never again!!!!!

It's a pretty good store, it has a good selection of product that I feel is a little overpriced. $100.00 worth of product there seems about $60.00 at the Superstore for a comparison. It is conveniently located though for the Gatchel area, so if you don't have a car it would save a lot of time traveling.
