This is a tiny, but impressively stocked store, especially if you're looking for Italian treats! The deli and butcher counters are excellent quality and the fruits and vegetables are an astounding variety for the space. The prices are beyond reasonable and I'll be back for sure. I picked up everything I needed for six people to have incredible sandwiches for about $25 including massive bakery fresh kaiser rolls, about 1kg of roast beef and mortadella, and some sliced havarti. Staff were knowledgeable and cheerful.

The very finest meats, lunch meats and cheeses. Service is awesome. The prices are very good with great weekly deals on meats, lunch meats, olive oils, pastas etc. Prices are competitive to the major grocery stores but you get the superior quality of a fine butcher. In store made sausages are the best! Great selection of beef cuts, variety of veal, rabbit, chicken and pork. They also have specialty Italian items not found at most other places. If you like Ricotta cheese you have to stop by early on a Saturday to buy the FRESH still warm ricotta cheese! It’s next level. Highly recommend getting all your meat, cheeses and Italian goods here. They also have a nice produce section, and fresh bread and buns from Calabria bakery.

Good place but... I shopped there yesterday, I wanted celery. A Lady was there already and she methodically picked up each stick of celery, felt it, returned it to the display. This idiot handled every single piece on display. I realize the store do their best but I do hope in future they keep an eye on their fresh produce and curtail this kind of bad behaviour. The employees at this store are very rude. I witnessed this morning a senior client coming out of the store with heavy grocery’s and a family member that drive her and waited outside, stepped into the door to help her carry out the heavy items and was yelled at!!!!!! Embarrassed in front of everyone for helping what looked like her grandmother. This employee has NO consideration for people helping their senior relatives.

This Scarborough gem is always worth the drive. Not only loaded with italian staples you can’t find anywhere else but their prices are more than fair and the service is high level. Customers for life here. Our frequent shopping list consists of sweet fennel sausage, osso buco, veal scallopini and barese sausage - all are made in house and best we we’ve ever had. Meat counter is amazing and what a great selection of specialty barbecue rubs and sauces. Special thanks to Connie, Domenic and Nina for always providing such a high level of service.

This business has lost my trust today. They sold me rotten chicken legs. When I brought the legs back to them, they did not apologize, but as a defense came up with an explanation that they cannot smell the rotten smell because of the masks. Doesn't that sound dumb? It turns out that now they can sell a rotten product and not bear any responsibility? The manager showed me an attitude of insolence and rudeness, while insisting that I never come to them again. This business definitely needs to be investigated.

If i could put zero stars I would. Totally disgusted with the service I received this morning. I called yesterday afternoon to inquire of codvic 19 protocols. I spoke with a lady named Erica who explained the store opens at 8am and from 8am to 9am was for seniors ONLY but if I was bringing my eldly grandmother I could go in with her. I repeated what Erica had said to make sure we both understood. It was clear. I drove over an hour to show up this morning at 8:10am with my elderly grandmother to be told I can not enter the store seniors ONLY. I explain I called yesterday spoke with Erica. The owner who is VERY rude and has no customer service skills responded with 'i don't care what my staff said use your common sense what part don't you understand'. I waited outside as my eldly grandmother did her shopping. I went to try to assist her with her shopping bags as she was paying and the owner repeated herself again "use your common sense it is seniors hour only what part dont you get". I have never had such disgusting customer service. We thought we were doing a good thing supporting a small local grocery store durning such a horrible time in the world. The owner needs to educated her staff correctly of codvic 19 policy AND LEARN RESPECT IT COST NOTHING.

We just recently bought a bushel of peppers from Colangelo’s and underneath the beautiful red peppers were 91 green peppers. I did try to return them to be told that they couldn’t do anything for me. This is how it is delivered from the farm. How deceitful to the consumer. I have always enjoyed shopping here but I will definitely think twice about it! Shame on you Colangelo’s and OBEID farms for having the Audacity to deceive your customers!!

Small business, great and copious choices of typical italian things like italian style bread, olive oil, salami, prosciutto, cheese, and all the produce was very fresh. Excellent choices of raw meat like beef rabbit pork, etc. Great prices, I will surely add this place to my rotation of groceries that I visit weekly. It wasn't very busy at 11am but it got very busy at around 12 30 on a weekday. The service is very good, everyone there is so nice. One must support great small businesses like this one.

The reason today we were over there getting some cold cuts and the cheese was not covert face down we asked the lady to throw the first slice out because for what's going on with covid the Filipino lady (NO MASK) working at Deli start yelling very unprofessionally to my wife that we have to take the first piece thats is not a customer service at all we ask to see the manager and he was backing up the lady not the customer AND THEY NOT FOLLOWING HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR COVID 19 AND i WILL REPORT TO MINISTRY OF HEALTH. I was with my husband excited to show the place since I've been here lots of times (love the steak) but the cashier or the attendant told us that only 1 is allowed since we're husband and wife. She asked is to leave since there's a line up. To think we waited in line as well. I think it's because we're minority and she thinks we cant afford the place. How do you describe a forgotten gem? In my youth, my parents shopped here and the place is as wonderful today as it was then. We lived in the neighborhood back then. Although it's a bit of a drive for me to shop at Colangelo's it is definitely worth the extra effort. The produce is fantastic! The meats are fresh and cut perfectly. The deli is complete. Great place!

One of the best few private owned markets I've ever been to. They got more than a couple fresh cuts of meat! Guy's name, Dom, he was very helpful in suggesting which type of meat I could use when making a steak tartare. The one downside to this place is that they don't take MasterCard which I did initially try to use. If they could fix that issue with not taking MasterCard, I'll definitely give this place 5 stars with no hesitation! I will come back here next time if I want to get Guanciale when I make Spaghetti Carbonara...

Had a family member visit this store with their elderly grandmother to help with groceries. After calling to ensure she could accompany her in the store was approached by the store owner when she arrived and told she could absolutely not enter the store. After her Grandmother finished her shopping she again walked in to help her grandmother with her bags and was told to leave the store as she was already told she wasn't allowed in. These are the small businesses we should choose not to support - especially at times like this when a little empathy can go a long way. Not good Colangelo. Not good.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I drove from Whitby. A 45 minutes drive because I a have been here before. However today I experienced a poor attitude behind the deli counter, an employee insisting on cutting the ends of prosciutto. When I said I didn't want it, she said that's what it will be if I open a new one. Then another employee lowered her mask, blew her nose, put her gloves and mask back on. Without washing her hands. We were told we could not bring our buggy out with our groceries. Having spent close to $200.00, we had several bags, then a young man came after us to take it back. Very impatiently so that we could barely take the groceries out. I also found the store messy and not very clean. Overall, a very disappointing shopping trip which I made to buy Italian products. There are many others the same distance from my home. And thats where I will be going.
