Sobeys is a clean store with friendly staff and convenient hours. The prices are steep compared to other grocery stores close by though. The aisles are difficult to navigate as they are too narrow and there are too many displays placed in the aisles, making it hard to maneuver the large shopping cart. The parking lot is a disaster. As my family doctor works out of the walk-in clinic next door I often witness small accidents in the parking lot. I am not sure why it gets so congested, but it does. If you don't mind paying a bit more money shopping for food late at night, this is the perfect store. I believe their business hours are 7am-11pm. Air Miles reward cards accepted at Sobeys.

Irritated I even have to give a star to rate this store... Called to ask about carrot cakes for my son's birthday.. lady proceeds to tell me they have a few out for sale... I live less than 5 min away... I get there and there's not a single carrot cake... Call to speak to a manager and does the manager not start arguing with me? What kind of customer service is that? Don't waste your time asking any questions because the customer is apparently in the wrong and deserve being yelled at? Wow great job Sobeys !

Tried to return unopened bag of dog kibble. And was confronted by the manager and accused of shoplifting the item. I was told it was on camera and reported to the police. Feeling terribly humiliated in front of other people surrounding me I pretty much left theft without argument and the manager refused to give me a refund or my item back. I did ask if I was not welcome to shop the in the future and was told "No I was not banned yet" Which makers absolutely no sense if I was seen on camera as proof shoplifting. I will never set foot in Sobey 's or give them a dime of my money again. Beyond unprofessional and an absolutely disgraceful!!!

This Sobey's is a very fine market for most things, although they could do with some improvements and a bit more consistency in certain areas. Their bakery is actually fantastic, one of the best in the city despite being part of a grocery store, and their produce and meat departments are generally good quality, as are their prepared salads and sides. Where they fall down: they tend to have multiple locations for items normally found together, which can be a bit confusing - for example, fresh basil is kept near tomatoes, not with other fresh herbs, etc. My biggest desire, however, is that they had more variety and consistent quality in the fish department. Our family likes to dine on fish several times a week, and that would make a huge difference in my rating.

This store has great products. It has international dish ingredients like curry paste, ramen, and others. The Bento Sushi is very good. You can see them make it in front of you rather than shipped. Sobeys has non GMO foods and whole foods. I would recommend this place for friendly staff and good products.

Have used this store several times. Love their bread & slicing it myself. However, very pricey for anything else. Parking lot is a nightmare. Almost kill the shoppers because they step out of the store into the road!! Surprised if there haven't been accidents with this design. Customer Service is something to be desired. I was ordered to push my cart through the lane and return it to the stall. The customers are just as rude. Maybe a yuppie store and those driving only BMW's & Mercedes use this store??? Had a man jump in front of me as I was walking to a cashier. He then brought his wife from another cashier with a full grocery cart while I had 4 items. Multiple items needed to be priced checked and getting checked out was a nightmare. ( this is what I mean about snobby customers). Then today, I got out of line to use another cashier because her lane was empty. Was told when I got there that she closed!! Come on!!! I had a loaf of bread and the correct cash!! $2.29. Almost dropped it and left. I should have but wanted it to serve with dinner. This store definitely needs some CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING.

An employee stopped me when I was using the self-check out and asked me to scan a product which I already scanned it. I was pretty sure I scanned all my items so I explained to her I am aware of what I was doing. She did not believe me “No you did not” and insisted I have to scan it again. She was so annoying keep asking “Are you sure you scan everything?” I said “Yes I did”. After a while, she stepped away to check I guess the monitor screen and confirmed my scanned item. What is wrong with her (she’s old blonde white lady with some accent) trying to embarass me? Before you make an assumption on customers at least checked twice. After all she did not even say a Sorry for accusing me

I am very disappointed with this store. The first purchase was a banana bread, when I opened it the bread was full of mold. About 2 weeks later I bought a loaf of bread, opened the bread the next day and once again mold. Last weekend I bought those powdered donuts and they were all hard and stale ... We go to this store paying more than any other grocery store and bring home garbage

Open 7 days a week until 11PM, this store has a large hot deli, bakery, meats cheese selection. The sauces isle has more condiments then you'll know what to choose from and quite a large healthy foods section as well. They will bag for you, carts do not require money for use.

Great hours, good selection of groceries as well as ready to eat food, and only a touch above what I'd pay for a full grocery shopping trip. Perfect for picking up things you've missed or are out of, or grabbing stuff for a meal. For a full grocery trip I'd recommend a more budget place like food basics, but the produce and meat here is better so if that sways you then here is good too.

Staff is amazing...produce isn't always fresh...they don't reduce prices if veg isn't up to par...still charge full price. Same with meat...often sold will only a day or two grace for best before date...:(...make sure you look at what your buying.

I use to go here all the time when they were open 24 hours but recently they have been closing at 11 due to new hours. This has been a real downside of the store since the 24 hour service was the most convenient for me. Other than that the food is very well prepared and store is maintained beautifully. I do find that their bakery items are very over priced but their butchers selection is always appealing.

Prices are much higher than when it was commisos, and I find the produce isn't as fresh, but there is a larger selection than there was before the 'marketplace' renovation. That said...I can't tell you how many times I've been shopping and seen rotting produce or even green mouldy shredded cheese. The staff need to be more observant and pull products that are past their best before date from the floor.

Sobey's has changed multiple times throughout my experience with them. First they were 24-hours so I could see their exorbitant pricing on the market but then they switched their hours from closing at midnight and eventually to 11pm. I even had them close 20 minutes early "because they felt like it." Which isn't very professional. Nonetheless these guys are changing the way lunch eaters take their break, providing a plethora of munchies for any kind of snacker to eat. Not to mention, they sell alcohol in case you missed the beer store for a whole extra hour!

Good selection generally, assuming you can figure out the mind of whoever decided on where to put things. They have at least three or four different places for sauces, spices, condiments, and dressings for example. It's never just a quick trip for one or two things, you always have to walk the entire store to get what you need. They do this on purpose, but not enough people make a big deal about it, so it's usually just elderly and/or disabled folks that complain, and I have the impression they don't really care too much about that demographic. Frequently out of stock on name brand products, but lots of their own no-name versions available.

The store manager at Sobeys on Scott St. has directed all of his cashiers to ask for ID from any and all customers who wish to purchase wine. This is not very smart (i.e. if the LCBO doesn't ask seniors for ID - why should Sobeys??) - and it discriminates against seniors and makes cashiers feel uncomfortable. This store should rethink their policy - or the store manager should be replaced.

I was using the self -check out this morning, and I asked an associate for help (their name is Leigh or Lee). She came over and in a rude and condescending attitude said to follow the instructions and to bring my glasses next time to be able to read the codes. It is extremely disappointing to be treated this way when all I wanted was to pay for my food. But I find this behaviour unacceptable when I have a visual impairment. I hope this was a one time incidence. I also noticed that the area was not disinfected once I left the self-check out, which is worrisome given the pandemic.

Every month I buy another package and test in the parking lot. Sadly to have to return them. Again. I come in for your soft, chewy cookie. In all flavours. But what you are producing is a hard, cardboard product similiar to the mass produced, boxed variety on your shelves. Please iron out this recipe glitch as I am losing hope. I cant be the only one?

I come here a lot for my produce, they have a great selection and good quality. Sale items are usually in stock here. They have a great bakery, fresh hot food, and sushi here as well. Pricing is a little higher than some other grocery stores, but they do have great sake prices. Also have a good variety of organic and health foods.

We came here from out of town for their Wednesday 6-8 quiet time. No music, lights dimmed, no loud speakers. It just started last week. Great for highly sensitive people, autistic people, and anyone who struggles with sensory overload. Yes, Sobey's can be on the expensive side but for me it was worth it to make shopping a better experience.

I recently went to Sobeys bakery to order a cake for a corporate function. I ordered the cake on Wednesday and was to pick it up on Thursday. When I arrived to pick up my cake it wasn't ready as the pick up was scheduled for the wrong day by mistake. Not only did the bakery manager see that the cake was made in time for the next day, she also delivered it to my workplace free of charge. I felt that I received superior customer service and will continue to order all my cakes from this location. (I have 5 kids and that's a lot of cake)

Worse shopping experience today DEC.14 /2020 cashier has no plastic just paper bags she tells me then cashier rips my bags as she loads my groceries, spent 140.00 ,to have my groceries all over grown i didnt make it to jeep with out rip another of paper bags she gave me. Sobeys is our go to store most weeks. Have had fresh sweet lobster and fresh salmon from the Scott st location. This last week we threw out three of the fresh fruit items. Watermelon was hard no taste, sliced pineapple had off taste maybe rubber glove from gloves they use. Just now the cantaloupe that was on sale went in the garbage. Very disappointed and frustrated with the fruit purchase last week.

If the sign says open till 10pm then ya keep the doors open untill 10pm. Maybe learn how to tell time, just a thought

Great premade warm food selection. Cashier assisting customers in line move customers from back in lines ahead of those closes to cash when others opened up. 5 people behind me cashed out before me. Good thing i am patient. Staff should be more aware.

Because they are open until midnight - I work afternoon shift and it is very convenient for me to stop by and grab my groceries. They have excellent sales and the store is always sparkling clean. The staff is also knowledgeable about the location of all items, and also very friendly, kind people. I almost get that at-a-ma n' pa-shop...for being such a giant corporation, they give a serene shopping experience. And no, this is a legit customer and have nothing to gain from the store...I am 36 single mum and would recommend this grocer to anyone!!

It was good. I use a handicap scooter from the store. It's the main reason I started going there. Now you have to get the keys to use it. A very good idea. I think they should go even farther. To get the keys you should have to leave a piece of id until you bring the key back. They do it Canadian Tire . It is a way to make sure they bring it back.

Sobeys pricing is definitely much higher than other grocery stores. Have been quite disappointed by the produce lately. If I am paying more it should be good.
