When I first arrived at this store, there was this awful smell in the air, and I mean really awful smell, it felt like a landfill was near by. I was hesitant leaving the car. When we entered the store we were glad that it was not actually coming from the inside of this meatshop. Must've been the location and I was surprised that no one mentioned that in their reviews. Besides that It's a really Great meat shop with a large variety of Central/Eastern European food. Lots of imported Polish, German, and Ukrainian goodies. You must do your groceries here at least once. Give it a try you might find some foods that you never had before.

My Friends and I always stop here when visiting our hometown. (They will shrink wrap goods for easier transport). Great source for: rye bread, condiments, ribs, steaks, sausages and European fare. They have a chocolate aisle with some of the best Swiss Chocolate I have sourced in Canada. Good prices and even though on the weekends - it's a zoo - efficient and friendly service.

I stopped in to check out the meat market as I had not been here before. They have an interesting selection of dry goods from around the world but when I went to order some ground beef I noticed that the person ahead of me had placed their order and as it was being put on the scale I noticed the brown color on the inside of the meat that tells me that it has not been ground for some time. Unfortunately I will not be back to buy meat from this location as I was not impressed.

The service was very quick and the staff was friendly and helpful. I asked if they had nuts in the store and they found out quickly with other staff (and even triple checked the answer - no nuts). The store has a wonderful deli smell as you come in the door. In addition to the meat there's hundreds of other products ranging from soup mixes to candy. Nice place.

A great place to find the fixings in order to make a lunchtime sandwich FRESH FROM THE BUTCHER. Excellent choice of lunch meats sliced to your desired thickness, along with a half dozen choices of cheese, and breads too. I wish they had a pickle barrel, and small mustard packs that I can add the finishing touches to my Dagwood sandwiches. Cheaper then a restaurant would want for a skinny sandwich. Rock on MIKE!

One of the best places for meat in Manitoba. Their smoked meat is crazy good. They have some really interesting European groceries as well. My wife really likes the frozen cheese and spinach pastry roll. We buy lots of their flavored syrup for our soda stream here.

First time I have been there. Very disappointed as my husband told me it was a great place. The store is crowded and when it's busy it's worse. I bought pastrami and smoked turkey breast from a very young man. The young man looked like he didn't really know what he was doing. They have 3 meat slicing machines (1 was disssembled and the other 2 were being used by other staff) and he stood there with the pastrami in his hand for 5 minutes. Another staff had to tell him to assemble the third slicer. I didn't open the meats until a day or two later. I was disappointed to see that they were both sliced and not shaved as I asked. They were both very dry and the meat stuck together. The edges were crispy (I don't know how else to describe it) and see through. I decided to try it anyway, but it was like eating jerky instead of sandwich meat. I will not be going here again.

Absolutely delicious garlic sausage! Seriously. Unbelievable. I've been living about 8 hours away from Winnipeg for about two years now and haven't found anything that even comes close locally. So, every time I'm in town I stop at Sausage Makers and load up a big cooler with all my favourites (the peperoni never make it home... ok if I'm honest, neither does the beef jerky). This place is well worth a try - if you're smart you'll go in at around 10am - that's when the fresh kulbasa usually comes out of the smokehouse and you can buy it warm. Heavenly.

Staff are really nice. Service is quite fast but could end up waiting a little bit longer because it gets a lot of customers. Last time we went here, they still have that old style cashier thingy. It was somehow entertaining to watch. ????10/10 would buy here again.

Was very unimpressed with the service first of all. The gentleman serving me was both rude and unhelpful. Second off, the beef jerky was bland, rubbery and not even my dogs wanted to eat it. The pepperoni sticks tasted like plain pork and where... you guessed it, rubbery. The smokes weren't horrible but should definitely weren't worth what i paid. The stakes i had where at best AA and where a bit thin. I even asked for a couple stakes cut a bit thicker but they refused. Needless to say i will not be going back. Definitely would not recommend.

The garlic coil and Ham sausage has been a staple in our family for at least 30 years. The is no Holliday that we do not celebrate with out it. It gets sent to family as far west as Squamish BC and down to Oragon in the US. Thank you for the great food and Memories that go along with it.

Sausage makers makes the best Studentz that I have ever tasted.Just like my Mother used to make. Also the veal loaf, the kolbassa, the blood sausage, and all the good things that come from all over Europe. The sauerkraut from Poland is the very best also. Good place to also buy fresh meats, etc. And love the Ukrainian music when you walk through the doors.

This store has tones of good stuff on shelf but quality of sausages is horrible. Simply I can't eat them - all taste the same, to much fat inside. no right flavour - and in the and they are not cheap. Just recently I bought a studenet which I normally love - this time there were hard pieces of bones inside. Years ago this store had excellent meat and sausages. I really hate to write something like this.

It's always a pleasure to go in and see Mike and the girls. Blondie (the polish lady) is my favourite girl. The extra care she takes in cutting and wrapping up your meat is second to none. Never a dried edge on your corned beef because she wraps it almost air-tight. They should have name badges, Mike! The best selection of meats, bread and canned specialty goods in Winnipeg. The extended weekend hours make it very convenient for shift workers to pick up their meat products at off hours. Keep up the good work and much success.
