REVIEWS OF Dolly's Fish Market IN Prince Rupert

Stopped for a quick bite before heading off to lax kw'alaams. So so good! I got the elite halibut burger with local shrimp, crab, hollandaise sauce. The halibut so flakey, fell apart like butter in my mouth, fries are good too. They also sell fresh seafood here. If I lived in PR, this place would be a frequent stop. The Kazu Maru draft beer was awesome too, gave me a good buzz for grocery shopping. Can't go wrong.

Ray

Always my favourite stop when driving to Prince Rupert. Excellent smoked treats and great food. Had the Curry Halibut and substituted rice for fries...mmmm

Tall Trees

Friendly, quick service and good food. Boston chowder is fantastic. Very good halibut and chips as well! Definitely will eat here again.

Matt Good

Really nice selection of fish, smoked seafood and a great little restaurant. Lots of local beer to choose from. I'd reccomend the smoked black cod (sable fish). The jarred and picked octopus is another incredible option. If you're sitting down try a bowl of the daily clam chowder.

Jenny Zirk

The place was recommended by locals and it was absolutely great. The menu has some really unique items and lots of traditional fare. They also sell fresh fish and other sea food. The staff provided really good service as well.

Dev VanCity

Definitely in the top two establishment's serving up fish& chips in Prince Rupert, and the staff are totally awesome. Hip and oh so chill. First stop I'll be making when we go back for next charter. Enjoy

Putrid, Disgusting, rotting mussels were served on the seafood jambalaya my husband ordered. He had it in his mouth and he realized it was spoiled when he bit into it and his mouth was filled with rotten fish stink and had to immediately spit it out. Checked another one on the plate and it was rotten too. I smelled one and it was so horrible that I immediately lost my appetite to finish my plate of food. He asked for the manager and after about 10 minutes he still had no one to speak to about this so he talked someone who he thinks might have been the dishwasher. He needed to eat something so he did order cod and chips, which was not great, very soggy. Dishwasher guy seemed apologetic and said he'd take the food off the menu, and would give my hubby an extra piece of fish. They charged us for everything we had. No compensation or discount to acknowledge the horrible experience. Place was not clean, and service was poor. Will not ever recommend this place to anyone, and will go out of my way to tell people not to go there for a meal, to protect them from an experience like this.

Michael Rensing

I'll definitely say I loved the clam chowder soup can't say it was the best the wife would not find the humor in that she liked the fish and chips as well definitely going to go back great service as well

Ron Bedard

Fantastic seafood and service. So good I ate there twice… Clam chowders, halibut burgers and deep fried oysters… all cooked to perfection!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Kim Dillon

Such Freshness! I actually ordered two helpings of the chowder cause it is truly that good! If you love Seafood and good fish, come here. My bf had the burger and it claims it was very good too so everyone can win at Dolly's :)

Dawn Ducharme

Excellent seafood restaurant. The whole dungeoness crab was really good and perfectly cooked. The crab cakes were also excellent.

Kyle VanEk

Loved this cute place! Staff were really sweet and knowledgeable. Loved the food, we ordered the half ceasar salad with blackened halibut... best I have ever had. The seafood stole the show for me tho, OMG! I am not from this quaint city but when I return it will def be top of my list of gotta eat here places! Hey, you should apply for one of those shows that showcase great eateries!! Thanks!!????

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Dolly’s Fish Market? The food here is amazing but it’s the wonderful service that really makes the difference. My wife is a crab eating newbie and the our server helped my wife crack open her crab to her how to get the meat out. I was envious but due to having shell fish allergies she was on her own with this endeavor. My Halibut & Chips was amazing so I was a happy camper ????

Jennifer Fulljames

Friendly staff and great food????

The salmon platter is a must!! Highly recommend stopping by and trying this awesome place to eat!

Matthew Eys

Always great halibut :) it's a must eat when we visit P.R.

Jordan Taudin-Chabot

Best halibut I've ever had. Smoked salmon sampler was a taste delight.

Alie Desrosiers

Went to Dolly's as it was recommended by the locals for great chowder. Ordered the Halibut Nuggets and a small cream chowder. They were both delicious but I guess I thought the order of halibut nuggets would have contained more and the chowder tasted great but needed to be mixed a bit more as I could see the the roux seperating a bit.

Marius Serban

The restaurant provides tasty, largely local, offerings at a reasonable price. Neither the food nor the staff have ever disappointed in the several visit I have made there over the years. The fish packing portion of the business is …

Kenneth Law

Great food, but small portions and possibly the worst customer service I have ever had. Dolly's needs more staff with better people and work skills, it's time to find a new spot for fish and chips

Charleen Tomlinson

I spent almost a week waiting for a ferry to Vancouver Island while in Prince Rupert. At that time I ate a lot of seafood and Dolly's Fish Market was by far my favourite place to eat! I tried around (8) different menu items and there was not a single item I didn't like! I also bought a shirt from the market and a few weeks later I took it out of my car and it smelt like the market. To some that might sound gross but to me, it added to the authentic experience, after one wash it smelt as good as new.

TE Alba B

So far the best at Prince Rupert. Fresh and delicious seafood to dine in and to take away . Joy Stew was a very great host providing excellent service. Very affordable and great portions .

Rhianna Loxton

Wonderful well prepared dinners. Excellent service n size of portions. Staf is Excellent!, we will be back!!

Grahame Rainey

Delicious seafood. Had the Seafood platter which is highly recommended as it contains some of their best - halibut, prawns and smoked salmon. A great unpretentious establishment exceeding standards anywhere.

Martin Erlic

I stumbled on this gem during a work trip. I found the ambiance to be very charming. My oyster burger was flavorful, savory, and succulent. I could taste the ocean in bursts as I bit through. 5 stars!

John Brown

Price Gauged at the Fish packing service, requested 2lb portions and they packed 1lbs each into large expensive bags then charged an additional packing fee. I understand they recently changed owners. I recommend you self pack or find another service.

Serina Roker

Wow did they do a good job of renovating the restaurant. The decor now matches the quality of the food, which is next to non when considering how affordable it is to eat here. My go to when in Rupert has even more reason to visit; would not hesitate to make this an enjoyable date destination. Great food, service, and overall experience.

kenny yu

The Manhattan chowder with the cheese bisquit was the shining star of the meal . The bisquit was still warm and soft which made it great for dipping in the flavorful soup. Seafood nachos was decent and had a lot of seafood. Elite halibut burger was amazing as well. The fish was still juicy and soft and the extra seafood provided some texture changes. Definitely will be coming back again

leighton dyck

Our server forgot to bring us our appetizer. She brought it when reminded however it was cold. We also ordered the blackened halibut elite burger It was very disappointing. Nothing was 'blackened' and I believe they let it sit for too long. By the time we had been given the burger it was a soggy mess. The one thing that I enjoyed were their fish and chips. Overall a negative experience for my table.

Jeff Closs

Excellent fresh halibut, and the prices are very reasonable. Portions (1pc & 2pc) are much smaller than expected from any fish&chips I've had elsewhere in BC though. Although we only tried the fish and chips, the other dishes we saw served looked amazing.

John Connor

Dolly's always provides excellent service. We know our fish was filleted and packed with care and that they will last us for a long time. On a second note their chowder is amazing if you go for food.

Nicole Besler

I enjoyed the 2 piece cod and chips. The fish was delicious! There could have been more fries however. I saw some really amazing looking platters heading towards tables. I would definitely recommend this place. Service was also very friendly!

Stuart Stephens

I would not recommend at all. We went out for a 40th wedding anniversary and it was a terrible experience. We sat at 3 different tables to keep the distance required and were treated as 3 different tables, so it should not have been a issue serving us like everyone else. After 45 minutes of not having our drinks filled we had to get up and take our cups up and ask for a refill, then a hour and a half later and our appetizers still had not showed up but one of our tables had their appys and main and the other received their mains but not their appys. I asked what was going on and all I got was they were really backed up in the kitchen but yet everyone who was seated after us had their meals. I continued to try to find out where our food was and kept asking if they could at least bring our kids meal for my 17 month old Since it had been so long. They kept going and saying they were checking but would not come tell me what was happening. I had to ask 3 times to talk to their manager and they had one of their cooks come out and pretend to be the manager and got in my face then yelled at me for not keeping my distance when I tried to leave. I have never met so many disrespectful people In one place and it completely ruined my experience here and a 40th anniversary. My husband spoke to the “owner” who said she wanted to meet him and make it better but now she won’t return his call. I would ya caution if you plan on going there and don’t have to high of expectations.

Whiskey Ginger

The food was delicious & had great presentation. I ordered the casear salad and added the cold smoked salmon, which came shaped in a rosette in the middle of the salad. I also had the thai coconut curry soup, it was so yummy with the perfect amount of heat. It had halibut and a refreshing surprise of water chestnuts. To top it all off the atmosphere was light and breezy, decorated with local fish themed art giving it an authentic feeling for being in a fishing town. Plus the owner stopped at our table to check on us, she's so sweet :)

Todd King

Im reviewing the fish processing They have been dealing with alot this year as everyone has covid issues ect.. like everywere hard to find workers so everyone has to be patient and understanding what these guys are dealing with Without them we wouldnt be able to bring our fish back processed and frozen so i appreciate them tons We had a mix up but i spoke and dealt with amy she is amazing and awesome she worked with us and took care of any problems we thought we had Cant say enough about her and how professional she is and dealt with any issues So thank you Amy and the rest of crew We will see you next year again as usual And i know next year will be amazing thanks again cheers AMY IS THE BEST !!

Awesome Abi

Amazing place. Already recommended to friends and family. Definitely worth the trip. Everything so fresh staff extremely friendly.

Ken Francis

Really liked this place. Local fresh seafood. Arrive early as it seems popular. Food was very good, hard to choose from many great options on the menu. You can even buy fresh seafood to go and cook on your own. The smoked salmon was delicious!

Kristeen Batog

Four because the food was delicious and well proportioned. Waitress was kind as well. I would have originally wanted to rate a five star but the atmosphere wasn’t the greatest. The cook kept coming to the front and saying inappropriate things to the waitress. I felt uncomfortable.. and I would have wanted to browse the coffee mugs you guys have on the shelves but I had to leave.. the food and dessert lived up to my expectations at the end of the day.

Troy Fyhn

Chowder was good, but the Dolly's pasta with Creole sauce was flavourless. It was like they neglected to add any seasonings. The guy at the market side was so friendly and made me wish I could write a seperate review for the market and the restaurant!

Jimmy Wong

Love their chowders, choice of clam, seafood white or red, all excellent. Also can't go wrong with fish and chip, we love both cod and halibut, so it's up to you. Obviously you can buy your seafood there and do it yourself but why not enjoy your meal while you're there.

Shawn Patenaude

Pros: pan-fried halibut was juicy and tender. The Crab and Prawn spring rolls are tasty. Cons: Both the Seafood Nachos and French Fries were soggy and heavy with grease. The Crab and Prawn spring rolls are over priced in my opinion as you get 3 medium sized rolls for $17. My teacup was dirty on the inside, it was replaced. I feel like this is a good place to go occasionally but I would not make it a regular stop. I think some dishes are priced well but for the most part their prices are high. We were still charged for my tea, no biggy, however it would have been a nice gesture to comp the tea due to the dirty cup I drank from. Side note: We ate the nachos but didn't touch a single fry. Bringing this information to their attention proved to have falling on deaf ears.

Caroline Marshall

Fish and chips were really good, crab tasted bleachy.

Tim Dressel

My husband was up working in Prince Rupert and since we don't live near the ocean and my mom's birthday was this past weekend I thought it would be great to get some extra special seafood for her. The staff was amazing, had everything ready for my husband and packed for air travel. It was some of the freshest tasting seafood we have ever had. We made prawn cocktail with their jumbo prawns and it was better than any we had gotten on the coast, and huge king crab legs that were to die for! Will definitely be ordering from them whenever my husband is up there.

Benjamin Quan

Ordered the 2 piece halibut fish n chips, it was very good but the star of the meal was the Boston clam chowder. I made the mistake of ordering a cup instead of the bowl. The waitress who served was wonderful to talk to and very helpful.

Dan Kensley

Omg the food is soooo Delicious from the restaurant , fresh … n hot fast !!! Staff are excellent , can buy fresh crab ???? from tank Smoked salmon ????, candied salmon … fresh fish ???? … great selection from Restaurant and market

Bob Petras

Food is excellent as always ,waitresses seated us, then for 17 min wouldnt come to take our drink order ,3 tables that came after us ate and left before us, i felt me and my family wher poorly served ????

Kimmy C

The seafood here was excellent! I had halibut. It was very fresh and prepared perfectly. My husband got the crab, which was also very good. The restaurant was very busy but it didn't take too long for the food to arrive. This is one of the best restaurants in Prince Rupert. It's easy walking distance from the marina.

Cheryl Keoppel

Too expensive for the amount, service was great, have eaten better fish and chips at other places.

Adrian Batho

Super good food. Definitely check er out

Brandi Ciampichini

We stopped in here on Canada Day this year and it was one of the best meals we've ever had. The clam chowder is amazing, the seafood is fresh and delicious, and I wish I could take the cheese biscuits home with me in bulk. We will definitely come back here to eat the next time we're in Prince Rupert! As a side note: they were incredibly busy yesterday for two reasons: first, they were the only seafood restaurant open in Cow Bay on the holiday; and second, because Prince Rupert was naturally a gathering spot that day for people from surrounding communities. We saw several customers inside the restaurant being extremely rude, impatient, and just generally giving the staff a hard time. It's gross and you should be ashamed of yourselves. It doesn't take much effort to be kind and understanding of the exceptional circumstances the staff were trying to struggle through that day. Thanks Dolly's- see you again soon :)

Eric Wiebe

Very good place to eat. You know the food is fresh you can see it on the market side still moving! Almost like eating right in the fisherman’s kitchen. I ordered the seafood platter the smoked salmon was great. Shrimp I swear was packaged but still good. In all will eat there again

Had our fish packed from a charter that was already processed and fillet cost was astronomical at almost $400 ...called them to be sure wasn't a mistake and got no real answer definitely disappointed...won't be back sadly as we did frequent restaurant...

Cynthia Chan

This place is amazing. I was expecting this to be a fish market but there's a full restaurant that's nicely renovated and has cute decor. The food is phenomenal. Had the cream chowder which they're famous for. Pretty good but the cheese biscuit it came with was actually the star, especially dipped into the soup. We ordered the blackened halibut burger and the seafood nachos. Wow! Could not stop eating the nachos and the crab in the burger was ????. Highly highly recommend making a visit to this delicious restaurant.

Mikael West

Food is great we will be back there on our next trip my wife and I love fish and chips also coffee was awesome

John Soanes (lost2gether)

The food has been revamped for the better. We received a free soup appetizer that was a choice of red or white clam chowder or a black cod chowder. It was excellent. The crab cake was very tasty and moist. I snuck a bite of my husband's seafood pasta....wow. The tastes explode in your mouth. And there was plenty of seafood in it. You can also buy fresh seafood at Dolly's to take home. They can also process your catch if you've been out fishing.

B. Dawn Feiss

Went in today for a nice sit down meal and was a little disappointed that so many menu items were not available. ( I do get small town but...) The wait was reasonable but the water has a very strong chlorine taste even with lemon in it so I would recommend something bottled. There was lots still to pick from and since we had Bob's for lunch we decided to share the Boston clan chowder and the Seafood platter. There was plenty of food for 2 with leftovers. The Chowder was good but not exceptional but the Seafood platter was . Its a bit pricey but well worth a visit. Would give a fourth star if I had not had to change my Order 3 times.

Wade Peters

You won't find better seafood (local caught) at more reasonable prices anywhere! If you haven't experienced truly fresh seafood that's well prepared you owe yourself to give Dolly's a try. They have their own commercial fish processing operation in the back-- you can't get any better quality control! A local favorite that just went through a total renovation with a new menu. I'm planning multiple meals there this trip, and it won't be the first time ????????????

Eric Christensen

Best seafood chowders and calamari. So fresh . Really good food

Mia Dungo

Dolly’s has very delicious food! Our food came fairly quickly. Ordered the halibut and chips, cesar salad with crab, shrimp spring rolls and clam chowder. The fish and chips came with home cut fries and the chowder came with a homemade biscuit. Best clam chowder I have tasted in years! Look no further; this is the restaurant you need to go to when you’re in Prince Rupert!!

Serena Ward

Great place to eat although the poor waitress was alone with 10 tables the day I was there - she stayed calm and did a fabulous job. The same evening there were 2 waitresses for 5tables... Food was nice although prices were not particularly cheap. Chowder wasn't the best I've tasted but was good, as was the seafood pasta.

Nick Wiggins

Jambalaya and Crabcakes were delicious. A busy place, but the staff team were working hard. Friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. When at the coast, you must eat seafood. They were fresh, and tasty. And the deep fried banana topped it off perfectly.

Rikjavic H

Smells sooooo good like seafood inside, amazing chowder, amazing fish and chips. Service was lovely and they played good music. Also very well priced for the quality.

Louise Dormaar

Great seafood, reasonably priced and good service! Modest restaurant located in the downtown area, close to various shops, and tourist areas. Easy to get to, not hard to find.

Guvi Singh

Wow. What a treat! Everyone in my group loved everything they had. Cute little spot, too.

Excellent COD Fish and Chips, great local beer.

One of only a few places for fresh seafood. 2 of us shared a Dungeness crab and a smoked salmon sampler plate. The service was great, even split our crab on 2 plates without me having to ask. The food was great, but a little pricy considering your right on the coast where they get these things from. $70 with no drinks. (Edit: I forgot, price was with a $3 can of club soda ????)

We ate at this restaurant when we were in town and also used the butcher service. The food was good and slightly exceeded mine and my families expectations. What we were really impressed with is the butcher shop. We dropped off our days catch for processing and left town. One week later we received the finished product by greyhound. It was prepared very nicely with our names on the package. Very clean and professional. Price was reasonable and close to what was quoted. Definitely would use their services again.

Asad “Arcane”

Been here a couple times and both times service, food and cleanliness were great. Felt comfortable and the servers were honest when you asked questions and made good suggestions.

This is a good seafood restaurant in the Cow Bay area of Prince Rupert. The pick of the catch from the west coast of Canada is available. You can pick from Salmon, Halibut, Cod or Shrimp. It is served with Caesar's salad, Coleslaw or French fries. The service is average and the prices are moderate. They also have an outlet for fresh fish and another for processing and packing your own catch.

Todd S

I tried the two piece halibut with one pan fried and the other beer battered to taste the difference. The battered fish is excellent moist not greasy but the pan fried was pretty dry and thin, so I don’t think I will order the pan fried unless it’s a much thicker cut.

Stephen Bolton

Everyone recommended this place for seafood. Very crowded. Our server was AWFUL! Bad attitude, snippy. I asked for a second glass of wine and it didn't come for quite a while. I finally went to her and asked that it be brought over. We weren't bowled over by the food. I ordered the most expensive dish and it tasted like a frozen entree from Costco. (and I like costco, just expected something more original for the price.) If I were to visit Prince Rupert again (it's lovely!) I would go elsewhere for dinner!

Eagle Close B&B

Lovely atmosphere, great looking place to eat. Ordered Crab cakes and didn't realize that they purposely removed the S on the end, and disappointed to only get 1 for 18.95.

Lang ラングErich エリック

I had a craving for fish and chips and poked around came upon this place, bright and airy and quite clean. I decided to try the halibut fish and chips with salad, the clerk was surprisingly very specific about how long it would take “seven minutes” while I was waiting I poked around a bit and explored the place, interesting and comfortable, the pricing is quite high especially when you consider the portion size which was not large, the order was given to me precisely seven minutes later piping hot, the Caesar salad was small but tasty and the tarter sauce was very good but the halibut was very bland almost dry though I’m not certain why, the batter was okay but it was missing something... Interesting experience I’d like to possibly try something else on the menu.

Dolly's fish processing overall is a bad experience from grumpy over worked employees to waiting in line for hours to drop off fish. Staff walked out and they closed their doors for two days upon re-opening their prices for processing increased 60% which they tried to charge us on fish dropped off several days prior to the increase. After a stalemate where they threatened to take us to court and hold our fish we split the price increase with them. We were lucky we got our all our fish back as several people were missing fish. Honestly don't take your fish there for 2021 I hope they can bounce back and get things more organized and better staffed for next year. The fish I did receive back seem to be well packaged and cleaned.

Iain Hughes

Guests from one of our cottages took in fish for processing and went to pick it up and found out that their fish was missing. They were still charged for processing and they didn't even receive their stuff. Terrible service this year and it affects guests perception of Prince Rupert, their charter and their stay. Ownership and management really need to address these issues.

Robin & Steve Roselle

The food was amazing. Best clam chowder ever. Fish and chips so fresh and crispy. Portions are huge. Lovely staff

Robin Brown

Absolutely horrific experience getting our caught salmon and halibut processed here. It took them nearly a month to finish our catch. Contacted them numerous times with no response or courtesy call back. They chose to ship it out to us over a long weekend, upon which we received it and half our catch was spoiled because it was sitting somewhere with the shipper over the entire weekend. Whatever you do, do not have your fish processed here. The packaging quality was terrible with many vacuum seals not even holding. No invoice was ever given for processing or shipping, despite being charged absorbent prices. How can a company even do that? Just charge customers credit cards blindly?? Whatever you do, do not have your fish processed here.

Uki G

Amazing food and great service! Must try their local craft beer. The blacksmith brown ale, cod and crab are to die for.

casey james

For fish processing.... Waited in line for an hour to drop off. Very grumpy staff. Had am 11 am pickup two days later. I waited three hours to find out they hadn't processed the fish. Terrible experience.

Andrew B

Lovely fresh fish. Recommended to me by a few locals, and I can see why.

Kurt & Thea Mehnert

Great fish and chips stop! Always bring our family here when they visit from out of town. Recommend asking for your fish and chips to be extra crispy to avoid your fish from getting soggy on the plate and that extra crispness. Will be back!

Cliff Krahn

Dollys was fantastic for us. We had a crew of 6 guys and limited on halibut and salmon so we brought them a lot of fish. Juan Carlos was two thumbs up with his service and attitude! The meat was beautifully packaged and filleted for us. We’ll definitely be return customers on the next trip to the ocean!

kyle jussila

I’m sure the restaurant is great. All tho. The service on the fish processing side is horrendous. And I was shorted fish on my catch. I know under new ownership, and that they were quite busy, things don’t always run the way they are suppose to. But being ignored for 4 hours, being shorted on my fish. It was quite frustrating. One specific employee was insanely rude, told me to stay in one spot and be back in 15 min to resolve some issues. And we stood there for 2 hours and left missing fish and missing a sticker for our cooler. I hope things will be better in the future.

Gary Dhillon

Amazing service!! Servers were wearing masks and very kind !! There were also plexiglass barriars separating the tables. Foood was honestly the best I have ever had ! Will be recommending and coming back ASAP

Paul Smith

THE FISH PROCESSING SIDE OF THINGS WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTING. PART OF OUR SALMON ORDER WAS LOST WITHOUT EXPLANATION. When we attempted to find the lost salmon, the management was not helpful and did not offer to replace the fish or reimburse costs. The restaurant is amazing! I absolutely loved the fish, and the service.

jake carpenter

Food was good, small portions though.. Good chowder!

Jeff Hunter

I dropped off my fish for processing on a friday. I had to wait for quite a while. I'm not sure if the staff were overworked or what but it was certainly not friendly. When I went to pick up two days later at the arrange time, I had to wait over 2.5 hours. All the people in line had missing fish and one fellows wasn't processed. When it was my turn, I waited another 30 minutes to find out that they hadn't done a thing with my fish. They were still in the container I dropped them off with. When I complained to the manager, she told me they are good for up to five days on ice. I had to take them with me unprocessed. I will never go back to Dolly's nor recommend their services to anyone. The restaurant might be good but the processing is really bad.

Colette Laplante

First time there, and everything exceeded expectations. You know a place is good when you mention (in the next town over) that you're having Fish & Chips when you get to the next town, and all 3 cashiers say, "at Dolly's? Awesome!" Boston clam chowder was awesome as was the 2 piece cod. Definitely going back when ever I'm in town!

Robert Montaruli

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant. We were sitting out on the patio and eventually the waitress came over and took our order, she was unaware of the chowder had bacon in it or was the salad vegetarian friendly. Granted it was Canada Day and the restaurant was busy but the service was atrocious. Over any hour later our food still has turned up, we only ordered,a salad, chowder and fish & chips. We were the only people on the patio, a family of 6 then arrive and a different waitress took their order, 10 minutes later their food arrives and we are still waiting. Over an hour and a half after we ordered our food finally turned up with no cutlery, the salad had no dressing and the chips were cold. No apology or explanation of why it took so long. I went inside to pay and I wasn’t offered any apology. I will not be returning. I know mistakes get made but just come tell us about the delay, offer us some bread or something but nothing like that happened.

Travis B

Had the clam chowder and halibut fish and chips, both were excellent. The chips were ok nothing special. Service was great, price was fair for the area because it's a tourist spot.

Ernie Kidd

Service very slow...food was ok not great.

K K

Overcooked, overpriced and lousy service. We waited for 30 minutes after ordering to receive overcooked halibut and a bouillabaisse with prawns that were hard enough to use in a handgun; and barely large enough to use as cocktail shrimp. It escapes me how a restaurant that's so close to an amazing source of seafood could be so bad. Based on what was served I concluded that Dolly buys the cheapest, low quality ingredients available. Our server was new, didn't know anything - not her fault that the establishment doesn't train their staff. We arrived as the place was clearing out - waited a full 30 minutes for food as we watched others that arrived well after us receive their orders. For a place that has spend almost zero dollars on decor (it's bordering on dumpy) $35 for a bad bouillabaisse is outrageous. I don't understand the great reviews on here -- our experience was the polar opposite. I overheard a guy at the next table ask his mate how he liked his meal, the answer ...a resounding "not bad ". I wish ours' was that good.

Darwin MacMillan

Delicious food. Friendly service. I recommend making a reservation to eat in the summer as it is busy. The only thing that bothered me is that their live crab tank had many undersized crab, I'm not sure what regulations they have as a restaurant/market. For us as fishermen those small ones are illegal to keep.

Casey Shayan

Their custom fish processing service is horrendous. We fish Rupert every year but usually drive, this year we flew and they were recommended to get our catch processed and back. We had weekly calls to them, mostly unanswered and were told it’ll go out this Sunday every week for a month and a half. They sent tracking numbers but the fish were never shipped using the tracking numbers, if it weren’t for door bell cameras we’d been coming home to thawed fish sitting in +30 on the door step. Fish finally showed up today July 22nd after being dropped off June 5th, from what I’ve gathered Dollys is under new management this year Fabio and Amy. When we finally talked to Amy she was incredibly rude. If we get processing done again we’ll be going to Rupert Meats.

Dave Leckie

Although im sure the inhouse experience is amazing, to say that the online service was poor would be overstating as i was unable to get any at all. After setting up an online account, several e-mails and many unanswered phone calls over the span of weeks i was left wondering if they were still in business. If youre trying to place an order, good luck

If you are looking for Prince Rupert seafood at its best stop at this place. I ordered the crab dish, just yes. The crab was so fresh it went into rampage mode when getting pulled from the tank. Not very long after this crazy crab was in my …

Good service and the best fish and chips around

Had a meal here, it was reasonable and good. Service lacked some attention to refilling water glasses etc so that's why I gave it a four star. Also had our fish processed here, it's the only place now thanks to covid and lazy people on cerb. Anyways they did a great job and it was a good price. This I'd give them a five on.

Food wasn't very good, greasy, small servings for the price. It's gone downhill. Used to be the best in town. Go somewhere else

There was a sign at the door explaining they were short on staff and the ones in training needed our patience. I guess I picked the wrong day to try this place. The service was very much lacking but the fish was fresh. The deep fried dishes were great but everything else was flavourless and watery. It was probably better before the pandemic

I know it might sound strange, but if you are getting battered fish, opt in for the gluten free batter. It's crazy delicious and super crunchy. Just ate lunch here again, food is outstanding, can't stress how good that gluten free batter is.

Christian Ellison

Horrible service, under cooked fish. Waste of money. Never going there again.

Food was good on my end although the way they fried their fish and chips left much to be desired, the fish's batter was a bit soggy, and my fathers fries he felt didnt taste right. When deserts came around their fried ice cream was delicious, but my father ordered cheese cake and was served fried icecream, luckily it was fixed immediately although it took some time to get to him. Dolly's can be a good experience, it has flaws and human errors that prevent it from being an amazing experience.

Food was wonderful but when thebill came my buddy had substituted a salad for fries and was charged full salad price and full meal price. Now when we went to pick up our fish and crabs. They couldn't find all of our crabs. Finally found them after an hour of looking. There was a hunt for our halibut as well and when it was found it was in the cooler. They had our halibut in the cooler for 2 days and was not frozen when we went to pick it up. This made it tough to transport back to northern Alberta. For having a bill over 1000 dollars nothing was offered in the way of a rate cut, they did supply sea for the unfrozen fish. So in all not a great experience

Excellent, but portions are small for the price! Food and service was excellent!

Arlene Christensen

Great food for sure , and great service ????????

Christian Reither

Food was excellent and service was great. Maybe try and keep a steady supply of local brews on hand.

So guests took their fish in for processing - and they "lost" more than half of their fish...... Guests spent big money on a fishing charter and planned to take their catch home - they were very disappointed.

Kristina King

I ordered the crab cakes and co-worker got the Halibut fish and chips. We both order extra to share with each other. The crab cakes was great but sadly the halibut fish is way too battered to enjoy. They should look at doing a light batter for their fish and chips. Also they need a extra server because she was too overwhelm to check on us and refill our drinks. I don't blame her but they could use a extra hand.

I had the Crab Cake burger and it i was delicious my friend had the 2 piece fish and chips ....the service was amazing !

A foodie and seafood lover friend of mine suggested I eat here before heading back over to Haida Gwaii. I was debating it because there's so much seafood at home but wow I can see why people rave about this place. The seafood is actually that good and fresh. The halibut burger had a large portion of perfectly moist halibut and a nice surprise of shrimp on top. The boston chowder was delicious along with the cheesy warm scone and the red chowder was more like bisque and had a lot of flavour. When we found out the ferry was delayed a few days we both said well at least we can eat here again! It's busy, the waitress is good though and we didn't have to wait long.

Diana Partridge

We had lunch there a the Halibut was excellent. The one piece was plenty. .lots of fries and Caesar salad..the staff were pleasant and the meals came quickly.. The next time we're in town we will eat there

The food was excellent quality. Fish and Chips from Halibut and cod, special Halibut burger and also very good White House wine. The service though was chaotic. We have reserved in the morning in person a table at the window side. We arrived 10 min ahaed of time reserved and announced ourselves for the reservation . But it was already clear we wouldn’t get the table we had reserved or any other at the window side. Window tables where all taken with other customers who where obviously just seated few minutes before and just ordered or had their main course served. So we got a table , right next to the toilet . This is what I consider the least favorable spot in any restaurant. So we accepted as we where hungry and looking towards the great food experience. We ordered starters, salmon varieties and a chowder, and the mains. Soon after we got served the mains. They’ve forgotten the starters and served the main dishes. To not further wait and have the food get cold we skipped the starters. So the food we finally got was excellent, although we would have loved to have a nice table and a taste of the taste of what other customers liked and recommended. As compensation the drinks got off our bill. So don’t reserve, it doesn’t work here. Just come not too hungry and wait in line to not get as disappointed as we where at the end.

We were so excited to try this place out while visiting prince Rupert and having read the great reviews, but we were thoroughly disappointed. Extremely over-priced and over-rated. Our server was awful and extremely curt. We ordered the halibut elite burgers (which were a whopping 20 dollars each), and the patty tasted like a frozen one i could get from costco. The burgers were so ordinary. The fries weren’t bad. The overall ambience was dingy. Would definitely not recommend.

Great food and a friendly staff. The cod fish and chips is awesome.

This was my favourite seafood/fish & chips in Prince Rupert (although Waterfront comes a very close second and wins for their ocean views of the harbour). The halibut was soft, flaky, and tender with a lovely light & crunchy breading. The bowl of chowder was off the charts! It was the special of the day - smoked black cod - and served with a freshly baked biscuit. Highly recommend if you are in Prince Rupert and a fan of fish & chips / seafood.

Watched 2 other tables get their drinks and food, and one of the tables were done thier meals before they even brought our drink. Theybrought us other tables meals. Waitresses were arguing over tables and such. Just an all around horrible experience. The fish batter was soggy and fries were cold. They place hot fish on top of ceaser salad so it was kinda warm. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I don't like let alone my friends..

Peter Moskalyk

Had the fish platter, and luckily for me, the chowder was on special. The food was AWESOME! Highly recommend this joint!

Joey Smith

Amazing customer service. The staff went above and beyond for us in order to fulfill a special request from back home. ❤

Lindsey McGregor

Excellent cream clam chowder. Steady customer traffic and great service.

Safrun Khan

Good clam chowder. Disappointing and overpriced seafood pasta; the creole sauce was tasteless, even worse than a simple tomato sauce.
