We were just passing through town and wanted someplace nicer than McDonald's to eat lunch. What a pleasant surprise!! This place was GREAT! Service and food were really good. Nice ambience as well.

Was very pleased to find this great restaurant in Port Hawkesbury! The service was excellent from start to finish. The food was very good. I enjoyed a cup of beef barley soup as an appetizer and fish cakes as the main dish. All of the food was excellent. One of our group had the ginger beef stir fry and said it was outstanding. Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip to Cape Breton.

Great restaurant for fancy dining out or a lunch date with friends. The menu is flawless with great dishes. From seafood to steak & pasta, there's even a great selection for breakfast (eggs benny I reccomend ;) although breakfast ends at 11am you can't go wrong with their menu to fuel you for your day! Waited nearly an hour (55 minutes) for our food. When I asked about our order, the waitress told us the "kitchen was backed up", despite the place being mostly empty. I ordered the Seafood Carbonara, which was dry, with two of the mussel shells already empty, and the portion size was pathetic for the price I paid. I finished the entire dish in less than 8 bites (and I wasn't stuffing my face with each bite or something, I just ate normally). My mother didn't receive everything she ordered either and it took an extra 10 minutes to flag down our server to correct the order. Pretty awful experience overall.

We were looking for a place near where we were staying and Miller's kept popping up, so decided to check it out. Well I am quite glad we did check this place out! The appetizers we ordered were fantastic, though not pictured. Had ordered a Maple Spinach Salad and two cups of Chowder. It was so damn tasty! The entrees were even better though; I had the Lobster Mac n Cheese, as did another at the table. The others with me ordered the Maple Smoked & Grilled Salmon and the Striploin. We each cleaned our plates, though the one who ordered the Maple Salmon would likely have actually eaten the plate if there had been a bit extra maple sauce left. Dessert was a Sticky Toffee Pudding and a Caramel Drumstick Icecream Cake. It was a most excellent cap on the entire meal and I look forward to coming back!

What a great experience, first they are taking the covid situation seriously and taking temperatures at the door, made us feel very secure. The food was excellent, I had the barbecue special with house made cherry BBQ sauce, absolutely delicious. My SO had the Cajun haddock burger which was very clever and tasty. The beer menu was diverse and well priced, plus cocktails and wine selection had something for everyone!

Used to be able to get a good meal & good beer. Although they list local craft brews, they were mostly out, and the one pale ale tasted like a failed IPA - but they had lots of Coors Light. I had the haddock, which was normally a good choice. This time the fish tasted old. They used to do better. Tried again recently - worse, if anything. Now there is hair in the food.

Plain and simple! We stopped over for breakfast. Restaurant is nicely decorated and staff is great! However the food is a little plain. The eggs Benedict with lobster is nothing to write home about! You can not taste the lobster over the taste of the sauce. The lobster is insipid and flavourless.

Mehhh... Not great. Confused serving staff, frozen, deep fried seafood. My seafood chowder was okay, my wife's Haddock sandwich was served on stale, dried out bread and the fish was freezer burnt and over cooked to the point of being tough. We would not go back.

From a while ago... Good steak... could have done without the 4oz of grizzel, but was very juicy and tender; good flavor too. Today... I was in for my birthday today and the steak was awesome, no grizzel, little fat but grilled perfectly to med-rare. From 3 to 4 star... but if the side is salad; a larger portion is needed.

We had ridden our bikes from the Truro area to Cheticamp. Ate some good seafood, and an included breakfast buffet at Laurie's Motel the next AM. We were starved by Pt. Hawkesbery the next day on our return. MY wife and I had lobster rolls, I had sweet potatoe fries w/in-house curry mayo she had caesar salad. The only problem was that the lobster roll was a sturdy sub-like bun. There was 1/2 a lobster in that bun! When I tried to chew through the bun, lobster chunks fell out everywhere. I would prefer a bun I didn't need to gnaw to get through. Our friends had fish and chips, and they were very happy also. Good food, good service, and the only time on our trip, at 7 restaurants, where anyone scanned us for a covid temp. increase. Would like to try a steak next time, with an overnight stay. But I would try many items on their menu. Just don't get through Pt. Hwksbry often enough.

Miller's has recently expanded their menu and have a really good variety of dishes to choose from. I recently had the nachos and wasn't thrilled... The toppings looked great from the top, but weren't layered underneath. However their spinach salad was delicious, and I enjoyed their clubhouse the time before that. Beverages were pricey, but maybe that's a NS thing? Service some nights seems a little slow but always friendly.

This restaurant is in the : Nova Scotia sea food trails for the oyster trail. But there were NO OYSTER! I had some pasta with seafood and it was not that good. Scallops and shrimps were frozen. I would not recommend this place.

(Translated) I did not expect much and was EXTREMELY POSITIVE surprised !!! I had the Maple Whiskey Salmon with Fries. I have eaten only 1 x a similarly good salmon and that was on Vancouver Island. The combination of maple syrup and whiskey was fantastic! The salmon was PERFECT! The vegetables were also very good and the fries rounded off the whole thing. Also the dessert was highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! I wish we had a similar restaurant in our town. Das Gemüse dazu war ebenfalls sehr gut und die Fries rundeten das Ganze ab. Auch das Dessert war sehr empfehlenswert. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Ich wünschte, wir hätten in unserer Stadt ein ähnliches Restaurant.

Excellent service, friendly staff and a reassuringly thorough COVID 19 screening policy at the door. Food was your standard bar food; decent portions, cooked well, (and even a vegan option!) but nothing special. That being said, it was exactly what we wanted after a long day driving, so no complaints. Our server was great, the service fast and efficient and the price very reasonable.

We went as a group of 6. Myself, my wife, 2 kids (4 and almost 3) and my kids Aunt and Uncle. We're all under 40 and love good food. My wife and I rarely get out for a meal and were hoping for a great experience .... we were totally surprised and blown away!!! Millers is a fantastic place in PHK ... kind of hidden behind a very well maintained hotel. Parking is around back of the hotel, in a separate parking lot from the hotel, which is great. There is a well laid out patio and 2 well marked entrances. We were greeted with multiple seating options for our group. We chose a HUGE booth style table that was well lit, comfortable and super fun for the kids (older kids too:) As a group we ordered fish and chips, Nachos, Salmon burger, steak and for the kids a pizza with fries. Sounds simple but no .. we were all crazy happy and beyond enjoyed our meals. The fish & chips (mine) were amazing. Battered well, flavour was perfect, fresh oil for sure. The fries ... BEST I've had in a damn while. Flat homestyle with a great fry and temperature. My wife got the Nachos ... but wait .. they weren't just reg ol chips ... Deep fried won tons! ... read it again and drool! She said that it was amazing. Chicken was done perfectly, the melt was great and the veg were not overpowering. My two monsters had pizza and the rockstar fries ... one ate all the pizza, one ate all the fries ... so SUCCESS!! My kids Aunt and Uncle had an amazing salmon burger/fry plate and steak and fry plate respectively that both looked incredible... I couldn't hear their comments as their faces were full :) Best food I've eaten in a restaurant in a very long time. It's very clear that the chef, cooks and kitchen staff care about what they do and the impression they give to their patrons. Well done!

As a starter we had Caesar Salad and the Seafood Trio - a culinary delight. The lobster roll was a pleasure for us - even if it could have been a little more lobster. The waitresses were quick, friendly, helpful and very attentive. Thank you very much and we would be happy to recommend the restaurant to others. While searching for a decent place in PH, we decided on this restaurant as it had some decent options for vegetarians and vegans. The entry is behind a motel and is still part of the motel as you enter the doors. We were greeted promptly and a table was available even though it seemed it was busy and packed. When we were presented with menu, it was different than we saw online. When asked were told that they were in a midst of menu change! This meant we had limited choice. Also we were told that many of the dishes were not available as they were not properly stocked because of the menu changes. Quickly settled on Vegetarian Papalote - a single baked phyllo sheet and within it vegetables and cheese and a white sauce. What we were not aware was that this rested on a bed of rice. The vegetables nice cooked and not too cheesy and just the right amount of sauce. The rice a bit dry. Also ordered a Salad with pumpkin seeds and house vinaigrette. The salad leaves not as crispy as I would have liked. The dressing perfect and the seeds added a good crunch. Also ordered a French Fry. The fries were top notch. Perfect size, crunch on the outside and soft inside and perfectly fried to a golden brown and cuts just the way I like it. If I only I could get these every time I order fries.

Well to begin with another business establishment gave a recommendation. So being from out of town we gave it a try. Our mistake. Took over an hour to be served. The food was yet another issue all together. Being they use the word Chophouse in their name you would expect a decent cut of meat and that it would be cooked correctly. Not the case. Asked for medium rare and got well done and the cut was a joke. In my past travels to Canada I have been served a good steak. What I was given should have been used on a sandwich. The potato that was on the plate was so over done and dried out that it should have never left the kitchen. The waitress was also a fail. The only thing my wife inquired about was how much longer would our meals would be after over a hour of waiting. The waitress did pick up on the fact that nothing was was well with our experience and gave a large discount on the meal without being asked. The blame was placed on the kitchen staff being short staffed. This would have been better off left unsaid because the waitress also fell way short. Reviews are meant to be helpful but honest so an establishment can provide the level of service or goods that they desire. Again not to mention another local establishment that did deliver gave Miller’s a recommendation. A disappointment

Best food in Nova Scotia! We were a group of 6 people coming back from our Cape Breton trip and stopped here looking at the variety of vegetarian options. We ordered pasta, asian bowl and veggie burger, nachos. We still can’t get over the fact that we enjoyed each and every bite of our food till the end. We have tried so many restaurants in Halifax but none of them is upto this level. The portions were very good too. My son is a fussy eater and he took no time to finish the food. Our 3 hours journey from Port Hawkesbury to Halifax went so smooth and enjoyable after having dinner there. Thanks to the chef and servers for such amazing food and service. You guys were working on the ‘thanksgiving day’ so another applause for this one. Wish we had you in Halifax too so that we could visit you often.
