They used to have a variety of things and have now gone mainstream. They have gotten rid of popular items such as D'italiano bread, planters peanut butter, popular honey dijon mustard and a lot of dairy is now minimal. Unfortunately I will have to look at stores that provide these items and buy most of my products there.

My personal favourite grocery store in port.. they have alot more variety than the others.. they also have hot meals to go.. chicken, ribs , wedges salads etc etc.. they even have a little sushi bar... nothing major but California rolls etc.. not the greatest but definitely edible.. they have a bakery with birthday cakes and fresh baked goods as well as fresh seafood. Lobsters and all... great little grocery store in a small city like port colborne ????????????????

Sobeys is a great place to shop and get the food that is right for you and your family. Ways fresh and appealing. The produce is rarely questionable and well sourced. The parking is extensive and easy to get around in. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and ready to help at all times. A great place to shop for sure. I would recommend it all day long!

I used to love Sobey’s back when I lived in Niagara Falls. This place is run poorly by contrast. Most of the hot food is inedible, in my opinion. The bakery is fantastic. Produce is hit and miss and I usually can’t find what I’m looking for. They sell rotted plantains sometimes. Yesterday I was told by a young employee that black and soft is the way plantains always look. Perhaps she’s right, for that particular location. They advertise sales in the flyers but don’t always have what’s advertised. They always blame the trucks and head office. Constantly blaming them. Yesterday I went for coconut oil and found they had none—or maybe they moved it. I was too grumpy at that time to ask someone (because this is a regular thing), so I just left. Perhaps this Sobey’s is just a regular normal grocery store and I have been spoiled by the excellent service and product selection of Niagara Falls, but there it is.

Best grocery store experience I've had in Port Colborne. All others seem to frequently let me down. Good selection. Prices can be a little more but they are by far the best run large grocer in town. Have been very pleased all around though have yet to try meat of fish department since they are not staffed later in the day.

I go to Sobeys to get fresh lunch meat and like there bakery. Prices are little higher than other store but... As I am at the deli counter 1 of the employees wash windexing the deli case and proceeds to open the case and sprays windex on the inside of the glass and all the over spray was landing on the meats and cheese and the meats were not wrapped in which was 1 of the meats I was planning on getting and after seeing that I chose a differnt meat away from where the windex landed on the meats.I was in awe. Thank God the cheeses were all wrapped

Today I was not very impressed. I came here to get some thin sliced beef. They didn't have any so I asked if that could slice a piece I picked off the shelf. They said they could not. No meat cutting service at the fresh meat counter? What kind of a butcher service is that? I'll be buying meat elsewhere from not on

Cashiers can be very moody and have less manners than I’ve ever experienced at an establishment that expects such a high price for everything they offer. Instead of replacing the displays with prettier ones, they should replace their disrespectful cashiers with some who are capable of greeting customers and providing a positive experience for them.

I was totally shocked and annoyed with your express check out girl today at 2pm. I bought 3 bunches of flowers for a birthday and asked to have them wrapped. She informed me that they don't wrap flowers. WHAT! I don't know of any grocery stores that does wrap flowers. So when I pointed at the cellophane, and said "What's that for then?" Only then did she volunteer to give me a piece. Then I asked for some ribbon and shockingly she said she didn't have any, as I was staring right at the ribbon under the counter and said yes you do. Her response was again, shocking, when she told me it was for something else and I couldn't have a piece. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT!!! This cannot be a COVID policy since no one has touched the ribbon or cellophane before her. So if it's a store policy, I suggest that you look long and hard at your customer service Thank you Sobeys for making me annoyed and irritated when I left!

The store is always neat no boxes sitting in the aisles if there are there's people putting stuff away on the shelves so it's not just back there and there's always open cashiers and I like it because they pack your groceries for you which helps a lot

What happened to this store? It was great when it opened years ago. I see someone else wrote a review on the perfect bananas (on the outside) that are rotten on the inside. When I shop I expect to bring food home...you can't eat rain checks. This store is either out of an item, the item is past the due date or is only a couple of days before the due date. Bad food! Very disappointing place to shop now. I can see running out of specialty items but what kind of grocery store is constantly out of milk?
