Only legit wagyu experience I know. Rating is for product only. Service and friendliness leaves a lot to he desired.

Best wagyu in Toronto.

I've gotten Famu a couple of times and they've all been great. However the steak I picked up recently smelled a little off and tasted sour. I cooked it a week from when I purchased it!

Master butcher and chef Seiko Ishiguro sells the finest natural healthy meats around, no chemicals, sourced from local farms, including superb Wagyu and Kobe from Japan! As a diehard foodie and former trained chef, my favorite things at Famu are all the delectable prepared foods and treats that Seiko cooks herself. Who needs to cook after a long workday if you know the finest places to shop on the way home. Just please leave some things for me! Highest recommendation!!

Only place in Toronto that I've gotten authentic Japanese Waygu beef, which is their specialty. Expensive but authentic. That's the only thing that I would come to Famu for.

Really awesome selection of high quality meats. Range from Canadian Aged Wagyu ribeye to Premium Japanese Wagyu. Their customer service is great as well!

If you want premium meat products, this is the go to place. However, if you plan to get better than average quality and not ready to spend $200 on wagyu and only want to spend around $25 for a nice steak, this is not your place. Aside from beef, they also have chicken and pork. All packaged well and available frozen. They also have ready to cook veggie platter for $18. It’s convenient but rather pricy.

it was fekin real kobe beef 4 star no q asked

Great Wagyu selection. Highly recommend.

The only place in GTA you could find genuine Kobe wagyu beef???? Staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and have a good selection of premium beefs.

This is a good place to get quality Wagyu beef. It's very soft and juicy, pricey of course but probably worth the money. I make this beef for the baby as solid food supplement and he can eat without the need to blend or mash it up. It's that soft... I can't seem to find an alternative that's comparably soft. They also carry a whole bunch of other meat products and broth that's hard to come by elsewhere.

I cannot believe that I can get such a high quality wagyu beef in Toronto.????

The lady was very helpful and knowledgeable. Good practice of staying safe and social distancing as well

The store itself is just a corner shared with others. Thank you to the gentleman that helped me during a really busy hour! Very sweet, helpful and respectful. Been here many times and I always come back. I tried the double meat wagyu rice bowl. Delicious!!

It's been 10 yrs that I've been buying meat for my family strictly from Famu, and I'm never disappointed in the quality & freshness! They source (it's always interesting to ask about), cut, handle, and store their meats very carefully, and in this day & age that is more important than ever before! It means a lot (peace of mind) when I don't need to worry about contamination, listeria, recalls, etc. I know I'm getting the highest quality products, and that they are being handled/cut with care. I usually purchase more ordinary meats/cuts, but from time to time I like to treat myself with the tenderloin steak, lamb sirloin, duck, and of course some of Seiko's irresistible prepared foods! Seiko and the team are also just so friendly and pleasant as well! Thanks guys! :-)

Very nice staff and the steak is really amazing. it melted in my mouth

The best place

Famu Natural Meats provides excellent cuts of Japanese and Australian Wagyu meat, they also have American Kobe and Canadian grass fed steaks. They always help me pick the right cut for all my parties or nights in.

Great selection, very expensive. Noticed their certificate that is on display expired in 2018... Will add photos of the cooked Miziyaki Wagyu beef shortly...

I heard about Famu from a friend, I'm a fan of premium steaks but had yet to try Japanese A5 and Australian Wagyu so I made a plan to come here. I can see why people like the A5 so much (totally melts in your mouth) and you can cut it with a fork, but it didn't do much for me. It was very buttery and reminded me of bone marrow or fois gras. The Australia Wagyu really surprised me with an irony taste somewhere between Bison/Lamb. I will have to try a large cut of the Australian as it was perfect for me.

Best steak I've ever cooked and eaten (Australian wagyu 540g). A little pricey but, you get what you pay for. Can't wait to try a Kobe or a Miyazaki though.

Amazing meats. Waygu from Japan.

My experience is limited but I was impressed by the wide variety of meats and other products available. I purchased chashu pork for ramen, and it was incredibly prepared. I look forward to visiting again for steak, and to get more delicious pork.

First time trying real Japanese Wagyu and the experience was truly one-of-a-kind! Bought the Wagyu through an online order with Famu. Process was seamless. Customer service was very friendly and willing to accomodate my special delivery requests.

Bought Kobe tenderloin on sale. Best taste you can get for home cooking!!

They sell real authentic A5 Kobe Wagyu Steaks. Just amazing. Also friendly staff.

We plan to buy some meats set for our first time Sukiyaki for the weekend and find out they also have vegetables set which is amazing. Savings a lot of our time and cost because we don't have to buy many different ones and can't finish it. The meats here are always of good quality and the symbol of Kobe wagyu in front of the cashier makes it more confident for us to purchase from them. Not much from service need because this is like a butcher shop and love to come back every time we want some fancy beef meats from ????????

Vacuum packaged meat smelt absolutely putrid once opened. Not well managed. Dates on package not honest.

Famu is going downhill. It was once my favourite. I recently purchased a few trays of sukiyaki sets and bbq sets. You can tell that the quality of meat is worsening, and also I feel that they put less meat/ less quality meat in the sets I purchased. The recent BBQ cut was horrible. It just tasted pretty bad. The customer service is also very minimal and make me very upset all the time. It is very hard to communicate with the staff in english or maybe they just pretend that they don’t understand English .

My wife and I have been purchasing our meats here for several years now. In general, the meats are great quality, and we are rarely disappointed. Both the owner and her staff are friendly and helpful, accommodating to reasonable requests.

Excellent butcher, one of the few (if only) places in Toronto for wagyu beef. Reasonably priced compared to Japan, given the long shipping distances. They have thinly sliced rib eye A5 for sukiyaki. They also have other items such as sukiyaki sauce and other condiments. Highly recommended.

Great meat and great staff

This place is amazing, the best quality period. The people that work there are wonderful and extremely knowledgable and nice. It’s a must try when it comes to meat ????

I trust the quality of the meats here. To be honest I don’t know where else I could pick up A5 wagyu from in the GTA. The steak I bought was unbelievably juicy and the flavour is unforgettable.

Great quality meat, and expert advice whenever I have questions on how best to cook and preserve the meat

This is my favourite butcher shop in Canada. You can taste the quality. I’ve made tonjiru with Berkshire pork belly and it was so tasty, it ruined conventional pork for me. Today I made beef udon with thinly sliced Furano A5 ribeye, and it was insanely good. Literally melted in my mouth. Can’t wait to try other wagyu from Japan!

Good service

Great butcher with great staff. I tried the Australian Wagyu and it was incredible. As well as, the homemade Beef-Curry. Amazing! For me, it is not around the corner but I will visit them again soon. Thanks!

I peeked in the store from the bakery next door and was intrieged to visit Famu. There were many sauces and different varieties of meats which looked very interesting. A large selection of Wagu beef with top shelf prices. I was tempted to purchase one of their beef pot pies. This was pretty small with a $7 price tag so it had better be good. I was not disappointed. The pastry was very nice and crispy short crust. The filling was good quality beef in a thick gravy with vegetables. The beef was succulent and very tasty. So worthwhile trying as a treat. I noticed in the frozen section a wide range of meats, pies and sausages so will visit again to try other items out.

I bought an A4 Japanese striploin from them this weekend and it was super-marbled and tasted delicious. This was my first trip to Famu and I travelled about 70km (roundtrip) to check it out and it was worth every penny. Remember, Wagyu is NOT cheap but it is an expensive commodity, you can't blame the butcher for the price. However, if you want an excellent piece of meat, give FAMU a shot.

As authentic as you can get in terms of that "Japanese" feel. They're also the only one in Ontario that imports authentic kobe beef. If you want kobe beef, please get it here! It's real legitimate!

Excellent service, phenomenal selection of meats. You've found yourself a life long customer.

Go to hotpot meat shop!

Always a good experience.

I was planning on trying real, premium Japanese A5 wagyu when I travel to Japan but luckily found this place that sells wagyu straight from the source! The meat quality here is the finest of the fine and well worth every penny! I got the Miyazaki Striploin (on the right) for $118 and Hokkaido Striploin (one on the left) for $155.

The only place to find real A5 wagyu locally. The quality has always been exceptional and I have never been disappointed with any cuts that I have ordered. Miyazaki A5 strip loin would be my recommendation.

I drove here from Mississauga a few days ago to get some a5 Wagyu. The lady was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The other places I've been to know little if anything about the wagyu they sell and just joke about the high price. Here she explained the various brands, and cut me a beautiful MIYAZAKI, and the price was far lower than any other place I'd checked. Also, you can watch them cut the meat behind the counter and they really take care and know what they're doing. Thank you, I will definitely make the drive again.

Beef here are excellent! We love buying beef for hotpot at home here.

I was able pre-order 2 days in advance. Friendly service and and the go to place for Japense waygu.

Meat counter is amazing, great helpful staff. Pre cut or cut to order - always a great experience

Been to Famu 2 times and id say its one of the better places to purchase Japanese steaks. Though I've had both good and bad experiences with this place. Good meat when its not off. But I have bought meat that looked good but when defrosted was slightly rancid. Nonetheless, they have wagyu from various parts of Japan as well as Kobe beef. Ive purchased the Japanese Kumamoto wagyu in the past. Today Japanese Miyazaki wagyu steak. Sometimes great quality, other times not so much. Despite the downside, would still recommend this place to others. Because when the meat is good, its quite delicious.

(Translated) Waygu beef. Soo good (Original) Waygu beef. Soo good

Was very excited to come and buy some Japanese Wagyu Beef bought some A5 Sirloin and a when i went home and opened the vacuum seal the meat smelled a bit off but after i cooked it the smell got even worse and it tasted sour (which it shouldn't have) and the meat was rotten highly disappointed in the fact that they would serve me rotten meat.

I am very disappointed of the Wagyu I preordered for the new year

Come here to get your wagyu beef! It's amazing quality, and cheaper than going to a restaurant, that's for sure. They got lots of other stuff too, like ox tail, ready to eat food, and different kinds of pork. Definitely get their Berkshire pork, it's great! Best pork you'll have in your life!

High quality wagyu beef. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I told them what I was planning to cook and they recommended me the right kind of meat.

Good varied selection of Japanese grocery items. Bakery has a good variety of treats and you can find wagyu meat here as well. Definitely worth a visit

(Translated) The meat with fat after a long time was delicious! Thank you very much. (Original) 久々の脂が乗ったお肉、美味しかったです!ありがとうございました。

The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. They offer a variety of high quality meats. They can also do custom cuts upon request.

Great produce

They are one of the best in town. Great quality meat. One of my favorite.
