I just went there for the first time and unfortunately arrived 20 minutes after they had closed (wasn’t paying attention to the hours when I decided to go pick up some dinner). Anyway, this lovely gentleman saw me at the door and came around the counter to let me in! Wasn’t at all expecting them to do so but was so thankful they did! He was so lovely and helped me quickly pick something out for dinner. I’m very impressed by my wonderful experience and super thankful they were so helpful and kind! Talk about going absolutely above and beyond. Amazing food and incredible customer service! Will definitely be going back to do some more shopping and support a local deli.

We enjoyed the best and most authentic Italian coffee here. Also their paninis are Awsome and should be considered for a breakfast and lunch the next time you are close. Their variety of Italian food is great and authentic. I visited Italy several times and this is really little Italy in the heart of North Vancouver! I have a love hate relationship with this place. Love the selection but always leave feeling like I've had poor customer service and it makes me not want to go back. It's either you get ignored or they won't accommodate what I would consider to be a very simple requests that Loblaws, for example, wouldn't hesitate to do. (Ie. "Can you cut me a piece that I can grate and is even on a pizza?" Reply: "no. I can only cut a thin slice. I can't cut a square". In a nutshell, I hear the word "no" here far too often as a customer. Ummm ok. Weird. This is the third time I've been back after giving it yet another chance, but I'm done. A shame as I always try to buy local but it's not worth the headache or the consistently negative experience of shopping here. Life's too short!

This would be a 4 star review but I value customer service and there's something about the energy of the staff as a whole that just makes my skin crawl. The food here is good, no doubt. The olive bar is amazing and on your first visit they give you a Thomas Haas chocolate bar which is super kind. BUT...the up-selling is extremely discomforting and insincere at best. They try REALLY hard to "go that extra mile" and make you feel like you're one of the family....BUT it seems to come from a place that's ultimately rooted in the bottom line. I do recommend trying this place but just be ready for an onslaught of over friendly super smiley staff recommending things you didn't come in for. P.S. The double baked potatoes in the freezer section are amazing!

Decided to check the reviews of Puccini's after visiting there yesterday. Completely not surprised to read the comments about the manager. When I walked in she was yelling and barking orders at her staff - and not in a fun Italian kind of way. None of the soft goods had prices on them (super annoying) and when I asked a lovely staff member for the price of something, she turned to ask the manager and she shouted at her saying, "I told you the price of this this morning!! You should know it by now!". I picked up a bunch of other lovely items - all with no price stickers and got tired of having to ask the staff for the prices. I was given the task of putting an Italian gift basket together for a friend. Had lots of money to shop with but still needed to keep track. Decided to walk quickly out of the store. FYI to staff members. You should never have to put up with a manager who is a bully. Trust me, there are higher functioning , respectful managers out there. Won't be going back.

I love there sandwiches and during this pandemic i have been trying to make sure I am supporting local businesses especially. So today, after not being there for a long time I went in pretty excited to get a sandwich. I was quickly asked if I had a mask. And I said no, I am exempt. Then they asked if they could see my card which I did not have on me. So instead I showed them my vaccination card. To which they still disregarded. Then Maria the owner stepped in to say They could get in trouble. Employers and service providers have a duty to accommodate people with disabilities to the point of undue hardship. If an employer, store or service has a mandatory mask policy that negatively impacts a person with a disability, they have a duty to take all reasonable and practical steps, short of undue hardship, to accommodate the person and remove the barrier. In every case, they must ensure that a person with a disability-related barrier to wearing a mask is treated with dignity and respect. A simple solution would have been to ask me what I wanted to order and suggested I wait outside for my order. Don't point out problems without having a solution. It could have been so simple.

My wife and I announced that we were new to the neighbourhood and heard great things about Puccini's. Lino and staff welcomed us in open arms and even made us a delicious cap on the house. Couldn’t have asked for a better first experience. Oh and I forgot to mention, the spicy Italian and Maximus we’re both phenomenal sandwiches. We’ll certainly be back. Coffee was milano’s beans too. Huge plus!

I used to live nearby and came pretty much every other day. Nowadays its a legitimate detour from the Upper Levels either way. My favourite thing from Puccini's is the Spicy Italian sandwich. If there was a local competition in the Lower Mainland for best sandwich, this place would fix a start running through all the competition on how to make a great sandwich. Aside from that, there is a full range of Italian Delicatessen imports, full charcuterie and cheese selection local and Europe and friendly staff. Prices are competitive. Some previous reviews are tripping on a member of staff here. I remember crashing in the back door as I like to park in the customer parking and enter from the back but the store wasn't due to open for another hour. That said person happily made me a morning coffee and opened the till early to get it done.

Growing up in an Italian centric neighbourhood, I really wanted to love this place. In terms of a store and deli, you have a large selection of all things Italian from olives, to pastas, to cheeses to meats. The selection is incredible, composed of mostly high quality items. The coffee was excellent, with a good level of robustness and flavour in each sip. Espresso shots are extracted correctly, and the machines seems to be calibrated correctly. Unfortunately, when it came to the sandwiches/paninis, I was left wanting more. These are piled with meat, incredibly tasty meat, but that's about it. The ciabatta was soft and chewy with a satisfying crunch. However, I just wanted the flavours to come through more. On paper, the potential of these sandwiches paired with the quality of the ingredients is high. Sadly, they fell short of my expectations. Additionally, when I ordered a latte, I was given a cappuccino. It was not busy at the time either. The iced coffee was done very well. And the customer service when it came to order the other items was attentive and friendly. As a result, I can recommend the coffee, and the deli overall, but not the paninis.

This place is so hit and miss. I want to support a local business that has great selection, but the way I am treated as a customer varies wildly each time I go. It's bizarre! The other day I was there and the guy gave me a free coffee and a free dozen eggs (I tend to spend $150+ whenever I go) which was really so nice, but the next time I went back less than a week later the lady who works there (I think owner or manager) was the complete opposite. I waited over 10 minutes to be helped and she went straight to someone who had just walked in. No big deal, it happens, but then she refused to slice any meats for me, saying that what I had chosen doesn't slice, and I told he that the previous week she herself had sliced that exact meat for me. I selected a few things and then she just wandered away without explanation and never came back to finish my order and started working on other orders. It was so bizarre. I asked the guy there if I could please have him help me to order more items. He did and I left there wondering what is going on. It was there for 35 minutes waiting for her to return to me, and bought approx 15 items for approx $175. The reason I posted this review today is because this is the second time that this strange behaviour has occurred from the same lady. A few years ago it happened and I stopped going and just shrugged it off as a one-off, but it's not. I would love to support this local business but I am going to look elsewhere. If I can't find another place to go I will make sure I am served by someone else. I get that people have personal things going on in their lives. We all do. But whatever is going on, it can't get pushed onto customers.

Went in to the deli today looking for a special Spanish salami that my grandmother always served along with cheese and crackers when I was a child. I couldn't remember the name, I could only describe it from memory. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and we narrowed it down to one. She sliced a piece for me to taste and immediately I knew that it was the one... or at least it very very similar to what I remember! It's funny how the taste of something can be so nostalgic and bring back so many happy memories. My whole family has been searching high and low for this salami, and I finally found it just a few blocks away from my house! Thanks to the staff for helping me find one of my favourite childhood memories. Please don't ever get rid of Morcon Iberico!!!! We will buy it from here now that we have found it!

I happened by Puccini's Deli yesterday and decided to pop in for a sandwich. What I got was a richly rewarding experience rare in the world of restaurants or retail these days. I munched at the counter on an amazingly delicious panini paired with a craft soda and espresso, and followed up with takeaway selections from one of the best olive bars and deli counters I've ever seen, plus a loaf of gorgeous bread -- all served up with warm and authentic Italian hospitality. If you are looking for Italian, be sure to put Puccini's on the top of shopping list!

I placed order for sliced salami. The staff member sneezes into her hands and forearms. I take a step over to make sure she washes her hands. She washes the tips of three fingers without soap! She was scared to get her hands wet!I said I will pass on the order and headed for the door. I told the other staff member what I had just witnessed and she just looked at me with zero response. Then the first girl assured me she washed her hands. I told her I watched exactly what she did and then she tells me she wasn't done washing......absolutely discusting.

I have been using Pucinni's Deli for catering lunches for product presentations to companies for a number of years, doing on average four to six a month, and the food ALWAYS draws rave reviews. When it's a second presentation to a firm, I ask if they want food from the Pucinni's again and the answer is always YES! Visit the store for a delicious panini or just to browse, and I promise that you will love it and won't leave-empty handed.

Has fresh coffee inside. Espresso macchiatto is one of the best ones I've had in then city: freshly ground beans, great foam on top, excellent flavour, perfect drinking temperature. Has small seat area, macchiatto served in ceramic cups (yay). Good price for quality. Staff were happy and polite to customers. Staff knew their roles. Layout excellent and lighting inviting. Store is clean, organized, and goods are placed in an attractive fashion. A happy store to be in.

If you're looking for the best quality and best service deli, look no further. The owner is a total class act, and the entire team provides an incredibly high level of education and service. This is the type of deli you want to support, they pride themselves on providing incredibly personable and quality service, and I for one appreciate that. I love that they ask questions and provide guidance to help you make an exquisite meal. My most recent experience, I went in looking for make your own pizza ingredients. Their dough is amazing, and they made sure I knew how to make it before I left. They took the time to make sure I had ever ingredient I needed so I wouldn't have to go to the big box grocery store to pick up a last ingredient, in fact, when I asked if they had arugula, they said no they don't sell it, but he reached into his sandwich making supplies and gave me a complimentary handful so I could save the trip to pick up elsewhere. This did not go unnoticed. I hope you will support this deli as much as we do. Thank you Puccinis for all that you do, we'll be back, over and over and over again.

You know I feel terrible giving this rating and it is for one reason only. Your products are stellar, your service is prompt, kind and helpful but everytime I leave I feel resent that I’m forced to get 100 grams I won’t use and which is always more than 100 grams when I get to the till and I feel the upsell. I just don’t think you need to do that because it is uncomfortable, obvious and leaves me hesitating about coming back. Sometimes I simply don’t need that much and I resent that in this day and age you want to tell me you won’t sell unless I get a minimum.

It was recommended that I visit this deli as I was looking for something specific.. green apple balsamic. Leno found it for me along with some lovely white wine vinegars. The best service and the best cheeses that I have come across in the lower mainland, as a European I have struggled to find a truely great deli and Puccinis really hits the mark. All of the staff here have excellent knowledge and give wonderful recommendations. They also have a great selection of gift baskets and make your own pizza packs. I never go anywhere else for my cheese and charcuterie now.
