One of the best butchers in town....from Picaña to the finest aged tenderloin...hormone free...no worries they have that...free range as well.do not miss the frozen section of sausages....stock up and rain or shine you will have something to broil. Even something for the pooch... A must to visit.

One of my favourite butchers in town. However, I noticed today that I had been charged for steak instead of the chicken thighs I bought. Not sure how this happened, but I hope the lady that served me is more careful next time. EDIT: Issue has been resolved. Thank you for the professionalism! 5 stars.

Service needs some work (they weren't sure which meat was aged and for how long?), but product is fantastic. I've avoided grocery store beef for ages and have been deprived of steaks, but had a wonderful dry aged striploin and package of andouille sausage that greatly exceeded my expectations. If the product quality is good, I can somewhat look past the service challenges, but would really love to see both (this would probably encourage me to buy more!).

The meat quality is alright - but unfortunately the counter staff are unbelievable rude, disrespectful and inattentive. They will pretend not to see you while you stand right at the counter, then seem insulted when you try to get their attention after walking past you 3 times. Product quality means nothing if you're going to be that unprofessional and lacking in basic manners.

At first thought this was a very good place. Went there because I got a gift card. Bought chicken and short ribs. When I got home and opened the short ribs and it was rotten. The smell was so bad that I don’t know how they didn’t realise. Chicken was fine. Kind of ruined the planned dinner.

Great meat and great service. First time being there before Christmas and despite long lines, the service was fabulous. They cut off duck legs for me from a whole duck so that I had enough. I have been back since and found more difficult to find things such as goat which was great. Highly recommend!

They refuse to cut the portion sizes we wanted and instead insisted we purchase smaller portions that are already cut up saying that is more than enough for us (which it wasn't because we plan on having a large dinner party). Useless to try and tell them what you want when they clearly don't value their customers. Won't be coming back here again.

Love this place. I get all my meat here and am never disappointed. Last year I bought a small free range turkey for Christmas dinner and it was hands down the best bird I have ever cooked. I'm getting this year's bird here too and I know it will be amazing. Prices aren't bad - you get what you pay for.

Good prices, amazing selection, and always seem to have what I'm looking for. If it's not in the display case just ask, they probably have it in the back. And I've always found their quality to be quite good. It's strange seeing some comments about the service here, I've only had excellent luck. It's "take a number" when they are busy so there's no worrying about missing your turn, and I've never felt rushed, even when there are 10 people behind me. Lines move quickly when it is busy too. It's the best place to buy meat in Vancouver.

I usually went to this location, however they have been hiring a lot of new employees lately and unfortunately I had a very negative experience with one when she dropped my ground beef on the (noticeably really dirty floor). She didn't offer a replacement or an apology, instead she laughed about it to her coworker before handing me the debit machine to pay. But really what's off putting about this location is how dirty it is. They don't seem to mop or even broom the floors. I'm going to avoid this location in the future, I suggest you do the same.

Nowadays it's tougher and tougher to get large cuts of meats like briskets and pork butts (for BBQ). Partially it's due to lack of interest from general public who seems to be moving away from cooking your own to paying some restaurant to do it. In any case, this remains one of the few gems in the city that still sticks to the tradition. They process the meat in-house and bonus that majority of it is sourced locally. Compared to mainstream grocery stores their meat taste better; and when compared to the more fancy upscale grocery stores, they hold their own just fine at a fraction of the cost. I have a local butcher shop 10min from where I live and I support them too. However when I need larger quantities or cuts, I never hesitate to drive 40min each way to Beefway.

Every single time I go here I see staff cutting meat with there hair flinging everywhere, yes its always in poneytails but that is still not hygenic enough when you are handling peoples dinner. I have mentioned this to them and said they would talk to management but this continues. Hair is one of the dirtiest things on my body and I have seen staff touching there hair then the products! I emailed Beefway to inquire if they stocked frozen 'honeycomb' beef tripe. I received a prompt 'Yes', so I made the drive (I don't live in Vancouver). I was very impressed with the appearance & the packaging, so I bought 4 packages (approximately 1 lb. each). I've already cooked 1 lb. & it was excellent. From now on, I won't buy it anywhere else.

Honestly. Beefway is the greatest. Plain and simple. I've read the reviews about other people's poor experiences, and did not have that myself. Counter Staff was very helpful when I asked for a 2 Inch cut T-Bone. I love how you can see the butchers cutting the meat, its always super fresh and not pre-packaged. Be sure to enter the free meat draw with you receipt, could win a $100 freezer pack, haven't won yet, but me and my wife are hopeful!

Classic style butcher shop offering many cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and various ground meats & combinations of ground meats (like deer/bison, etc.). I've been a customer for 20 years. Sorry to say the shop no longer resembles what it used to be. The meat is high quality and the staff are great for the most part (well they used to be, so many new faces) but they are now sadly overpriced. I recently was embarrassed by being accused of not paying on a previous visit, I'm fairly certain I had ( why would they give me my $9 order if I hadn't) but I paid again anyway ????. They need the money more than I do I guess. Anyway that was my last visit. Bye guys. And by the way it's you not me. Try Columbus at Naniamo and Charles folks. It's like the old Beefway, including the old Beefway prices.

Terrible experience. We went to buy picanha, which is a Brazilian cut of meat for which I grew up eating as I am well familiar with, and we were sold a very expensive peace of low quality meat, which was 90% not picanha. When we emailed beef way to bring this issue to their attention they were very aggressive in their response. We noticed that the quality of meat that we bought there during the last few months has declined significantly, which is quite unfortunate. There are other places that sell picanha in Vancouver and greater Vancouver and we will definitely be going there instead.

Bought some ground beef and chicken thighs. The ground beef was very fresh and pretty good but the chicken smelled off and looked fairly old when I got home. I usually get fairly high quality meat from here but the chicken was definitely off.
