Their cookies, cakes, and tarts are all so beautifully decorated (truly, they are art) and everything I've had from here so far has been delicious. The banoffee tart, the creme brulee tart, and the peanut butter Toblerone tart are real highlights for me. They even let my fiance and I in slightly after closing when we got engaged, as we wanted something sweet to celebrate. Really nice place.

Wanted to love this place. Service and staff were friendly, but the food/coffee was just ok. We had the apple cinnamon scone and beef pie. Scone was too flour-y; pie crust was too thick and bland, filling was tasteless other than salt. Didn't try the sweets.1

Constructive Feedback

I used to strongly support this local cafe despite being overpriced (not even organic ingredients at these prices!) and their quality has gone down significantly in just the last 3 years. They have reduced the size of their croissants for example and trying to order a custom cake is a nightmare. An internet server issue apparently....Paying more for local should mean better service. Staff are not happy, not knowledgeable and I hope their fresh bread isn't exposed to flies like it used to be. Most of their items are too oily or too sweet. I still like that they donate a truck flat bed sized slab cake every year on Canada Day to give out to everyone at Queen's Park. I tried it and it was really good. Hope that continues post covid if they don't close which is likely since they rely on tourism and their older customer base is dying out. I do hope they turn things around because I would rather support them over fast food like Tim Horton's or the Petro but they have to earn it.

Lovely bakery. The tarts are my absolute favourite always made with fresh ingredients. If you stop by I highly recommend picking up some tomato bread, (they can slice it if you want) it really puts a nice twist on a sandwich.

Used them for our wedding cake almost 3 years ago. Was not impressed with the service. Chef always seemed to be too busy and was very short with us, no follow up prior to our wedding about the delivery and to confirm details. The cake looked amazing but the red velvet tasted much worse when compared to the tasting we had.

All I can say is wow - they really know how to make a great desert! We had tea and cakes one day, scones another, and last year tried some bread and sandwiches. Everything was delicious but I recommend getting their early for the scones as they do sell fast!

Willow is one of my favourite places to go to for Hazelnut Coffee. They also made a fab-U-lous cake for my 60th bday. Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. It looked and tasted amaZING. I highly recommend their shop. The cake was ready on time for pick up and they even carried it to the car. (the cake was big enough for 60 people and so heavy, my daughter was afraid she might drop it) It seems they are up to any cake and pastry project (as locals all know by the annual Cake Walk on July 1 :-) Thank you Willow!

I don’t know what’s going on with this place, but I’ve had a terrible experience trying to get them to cater sweets for our wedding. If you’re thinking of using them for your wedding please read! This place came recommended to us by our wedding coordinator at the Pillar & Post, so I emailed them to get a sample order to try some things. I was told via email I could stop by on a Saturday and pick up the sample order, so I drove from Burlington to Niagara one day, and the girls at the counter has no idea about this. The person who had taken my order left, and no one looked into emails/pending orders so they literally had nothing for us and told us to call again, place another order and come back. After that day, I followed up with one of the owners Sean, who at first did respond. Okay, great, we drove back to Niagara one day and finally got our sampling of stuff (which you pay price for, okay, fine). Once I decided to place my order, I call and leave a message with the bakery, and no one gets back to me. I tried calling another day, no answer again. I emailed them (owner copied as well) to follow up about placing my order, no response. Literally months have gone by with no response - based on their unreliable service, we’re going with another bakery! I’ll be letting our wedding coordinator know about this as well so they can stop recommending these guys. There are so many other bakeries and independent bakers in the area that do good work and actually want business.

Would I go there again? - Definitely! Why would you go to Tim or other places, when there's a place like this. This is a pastry store it should be like. Here they have a variety of great cakes and amazing pastry ????. The most delicious stuff you can imagine. And the service is very nice as well. I would go there any time again. You literally can taste the love they made the cakes with. And if you don't trust my words you can have a look for yourself through a glass and can watch the maitres doing the job.

Last few visits quality of products have really declined. Explained to manager for the amount they charge the product was horrible. They agreed that due to the long weekend quality control was not there and said they would reach out to me to make it right....they never did. Not going back! Willow Cakes made our wedding cake and cupcakes. We had put in an order about 6 months prior to the wedding, unfortunately the day before the wedding we found out that whoever had taken our order had lost it. Apparently this person no longer works there as we were not the first couple this had happened to. So we had to put in a brand new order for the next day. Willow Cakes handled the incident very well and delivered a beautiful and delicious cake and cupcakes even on such short notice. I want to say thank you to them for making what could have gone wrong an excellent experience. I definitely recommend them!

Bread products are really fantastic, but less supply since newly renovated. The old layout was much better, there was more product display and staff had knowledge on the products. Cakes have good visual presentation, but there taste is hit and miss. Hope they can work out these bugs for the future. Miss the donuts, and the surprise seasonal baked goods.

Unfortunately Willow prepared the wrong cake for the party I was hosting. Of course I didn't realize that until everyone was there and we cut the cake open. At that point I could only serve what proved to be a totally dry and tasteless cake. But to me the worst part was that when I went to the store to discuss the issue with them they promised that the manager would call me back. It's been more than a week with no phone call. To me that is unforgivable. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone at this point.

I'm the type of person that appreciates quality Ingredients so when I tried the pastries here I was very disappointed that they care more about presentation than taste. I tried 2 different pastries and were both not good at all, they lack flavor and left a weird after taste. It tasted artificial. I'm a Baker, and this fell really short. It's so hard to find a good bakery, and although presentation is important, taste is even more so!

I placed an order over the phone and paid for a cake to be made and delivered to the Pillar and Post down the street to be there for the arrival of a special 30th birthday. I let them know that it needed to be there by 1 for the arrival and surprise, we ended up arriving late around 4:00pm but when we walked into the hotel room there was no cake to be found. I called the bakery and they said oh we forgot about it we can bring something over soon. At this point the surprise of walking into the room and having had a cake delivered was gone so we did not want it anymore and had to explain why i wanted a refund? They were so rude and didn't even apologize. It was supposed to be a great birthday supposed that was completely ruined by this bakery :( I told the restaurant the old winery that we went to for dinner and they were so sorry on behalf of the other bakery that the gave us a cheese cake from the restaurant to take home for free! And the Old Winery's cheesecake was the best I've ever had, so save yourself some disappointment and just avoid this place.
