Here you have all the information of people who know the products and services of Trius Winery & Restaurant (Butcher Shop) near to the area of Niagara-on-the-Lake (Canada).
As of day the business gets a score of 4.4 out of 5 and the rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is very good, and it's based on a large number of reviews, so we can say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Butcher Shop is included in the category of Winery.
Service at the tasting bar was terrible. Staff were focused on talking to two groups and ignored the rest of us at the bar. This ruined our wine tasting experience and we left without buying any bottles.
This is so much Instagram-worthy winery; with beautiful landscaping and vineyard! Sipping on their great-tasting wines paired with amazing food at their restaurant will make an amazing date! ????
Excellent winery with a gourmet restaurant and cellar door sales with significant discount on award-winning Niagara region whites, reds and ice wines. Plenty of parking and the restaurant has a large capacity. Tasting is $8 for three 1oz samples. There is a range of merchandise for sale also.
Maybe it was a bad day... but when we entered a platform with a view on the vineyard, there was a group doing a tour of the winery there. The guide immediately asked us to leave (the platform was pretty large, so it did not seem like an issue of space). We made sure that this was actually what he meant and he confirmed. I am curious what secrets he has been sharing with the group that we could overhear... Anyways, there are many more wineries in the area and maybe it was just a bad day.
A great wine tasting experience in a comfortable setting. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great wine, however the food was the real star here. Fresh, inventive and delicious. To top it off service was exceptional.
Sit down tasting experience while enjoying the winery view. The winery employees were able to recommend selections which matched our taste palate. Would visit again!
Did a tasting and purchased a couple bottles. If you spend over a certain amnt (I think $25) your tasting is free. I had been gifted a bottle of their dry riesling and it was delicious so we made a trip over to try their other wines. It is a beautiful winery with lots to sample and enjoy. Will return!
Great staff and amazing wine. Make sure you take a trip upstairs to the loft and taste the wines that they are known for. If you think the ones downstairs are good, the ones upstairs will blow your mind.
Beautiful place. I especially love tasting the icewines and ended up taking home a bottle of the Reisling in a gorgeous display tube. Kevin was friendly, patient, and extremely accommodating with us. I can't wait to go back for another visit.
An amazing experience here every time we come down. Also, being a wine club member will give you a free glass of champagne with dinner. My party and I came down for a wine tasting. We had their Febulicious dinner menu with the showcase wine tasting and let me tell you, that was probably the greatest dining experience we have ever had. Our server, Brad, was phenomenal. He picked out the perfect wine pairings for each of our courses and were very impressed. Their local sourcing of ingredients can really be seen through the freshness and quality of their dishes. Will definitely come back again and again.
Great selection of Ice Wines. One of very few wineries offering red grapes #IceWine out of Cabernet Franc. Great tasting service and the gift shop is full of cute little presents from books, produce and wine related products.
We enjoyed a delicious prix fixe brunch which consisted of an appetizer main and dessert. The ingredients were super fresh and the presentation was exquisite. The service was swift, efficient and friendly.
Good selection of wine and delicious food. Great place to have lunch.
Surprised to find the the most original amazing vegitarian dish here. Worth the drive for the smoked artichokes and cabbage. Real thought and creativity and not just the same vegitarian - bottom of menu - option. Thanks!
Food amazing! Me and my family love coming here the food is always good and always fresh..the plating is beautiful...definitely amazing. Staff are kind and friendly making sure you have everything you need to make sure your experience is right!
First and foremost, Suzanne was an absolute pleasure to have as a guide. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around! But the tour itself is amazing! Wine was delicious and the experience is well worth it! 10/10. Thanks Suzanne!
Today was an amazing experience! Had lunch at Trius Winery and Wow it was 6 Star. I did the 3 course, pictures attached of our Food. Rachelle was our waitress, she was very attentive to our needs. I would highly reccomend the lunch. Very delicious❤
Very good wines. Customer Service not up to par. Impossible to get through on the phone and the concierge plus service is not responsive.
My family and I typically visit Trius 1-2 times a year and have always had a fantastic experience. Beautiful winery (lots of areas for photos), delicious tastings and always very pleasant staff. If you have the chance to check out the Loft Tasting room, I would highly recommend it. Shout out to Christine and Linda who have always provided exceptional service and are full of knowledge!
Our favourite spot. Food or wine. Always amazing.
Where does one start. I came to trius to enjoy a “high-end” dinner after visiting a number of other local wineries in the area over the week and was expecting a much higher standard dinner than I received. 1) bathrooms were straight out of a nightmare - nothing was cleaned with paper towels and water everywhere 2) none of the hand sanitizers were functional - a covid nightmare 3) our server didn’t even know what wines he was serving in our flight 4) food was mediocre at best and way over priced 5) ambiance was noticeably lack lustre and appeared cheap 6) our glassware was poorly cleaned and reeked of dirty dishwasher (aka that stinky fish smell) Overall clear tourist trap woulddd not recommend to anyone who is looking for quality food and wine in the Niagara region.
Fun night at Trius! Did the 5 course w/ Black Glass pairing. Food was good as was the wine of course :)
This is an excellent restaurant. Absolutely great food and wine pairings. The wait staff were super friendly, informative, and attentive. Our waiter Brad, was phenominal.
The wine is great but the food is a show stopper! Every single thing was perfectly prepared, presented, explained/delivered, and delicious. The room is elegantly modern yet super comfortable. The menu choices are impossible to pick from because you will want EVERYTHING but I think it would be difficult to make a wrong choice. There are so many excellent places to eat in the area but I would feel deprived if I missed this restaurant on any given trip to NOTL. The goat cheese stuffed zucchini blossoms are the best that can be had. Plan ahead-assure a reservation-and ENJOY!
A friend and I came for a birthday celebration end of August for the dome experience and Julia the manager was very considerate and helpful with our reservation we’d like to leave a nice review with her, thank you. We had a great time
Amazing knowledge of the staff, incredibly friendly and their menu is beautifully tailored for allergies (dairy for I) along with recommended wines.
Wonderful dinner, wine, and atmosphere. Service was attentive, and provided excellent pairing recommendations.
We started off with a wine tasting outside. We had dinner at the restaurant for our 1 year anniversary and we were given complimentary rose bubbly which was super nice! Our food was amazing and next time we are in NOTL, we will definitely stop by. We ended up buying two bottles of the baco noir, the ice wine from the tasting, and a Chardonnay.
We went to the winery last night for dinner. The tasting menu looked great so we chosentheb5 courses and decided to do the showcase wine pairing with it. The food was amazing so delicious and full of flavour and texture. The wine was also incredible and suited the food elegantly. The reason I gave 3 stars is the service. My husband and I love to hear about the wines and the food and how they work together. Our server did not seem to have much time or care for us and also did not have much of a sense of humour when we tried to engage with him a little more. Unfortunately it came across as a bit snobby. We had hoped that at a winery showcasing their own wines with their delicious food that the servers Nd staff would be passionate about delivering an overall informal and enjoyable dining experience.
Just finished the tasting tour for 16.95 and it was a complete rip off. No tour of the facilities, you look at paintings of the fermenting process on the side of their barn, and they take you to the lookout tower, all of which you could do on your own by wandering around the grounds. $7 for flight tasting, and didn't find a single wine I liked. Save your money and go to Jackson Triggs and do a tour for $5
Went there for my birthday. We were greeted by one of the friendly staff upon our arrival and were directed to our table after we scanned the CODIV-19 questionnaire QR Code and showed her our mobiles. She asked us to check out when we were leaving. We were provided with a drink and lunch menu and our host welcomed us, congratulated me on my birthday and served us a complimentary Rose. Then we were served with bread and red wine cheese and kitchen snacks. We ordered a bottle of Trius Sauvignon Blanc to share for all of us. We had the option of 2 course lunch (either appetizer and main or main and dessert) for $60 and 3 course lunch for $70. We ordered Salmon for appetizer, Atlantic Salmon and Beverley Creek Farm Lamb Sirloin (medium) for main course and Black Forest Pot for dessert. The food was delicious and perfectly marinated/cooked. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed great service, view and ambience. It made my birthday memorable. One thing they can improve on the birthday occasions is serving a piece of cake with a candle to the birthday person.
Awesome dinning room with very tasty food. Highly recommend!
Food and drinks were pretty good! Ate outside on the patio on a nice summer day. Had a pleasant experience until.... my group was waiting for our server to bring the bills and a huge RAT ran on my feet! VERY SCARY EXPERINCE!
My partner and I celebrated his birthday dinner at the Trius Winery Restaurant this week. Our expectations were exceeded! We received great service from start-to-finish. We were seated in front of a fountain overlooking the beautiful vineyard. The food was tasteful and exquisite.
The Tour Guide Kevin, was very informative and entertaining. Ask for him!! Couldn't eat at the restaurant due to my allergy to latex gloves, which is used. Disappointed that I couldn't end my tour with their meal.
Had a wonderful experience, the Wine Club membership goes a long way at all of the peller family wineries! Very happy
We went for Fabulicious. I chose the squash salad (great), fish (ok, a little fishy but texture was perfect), and nanaimo bar (amazing but I'm a dessert guy). We had the best waitress. She was so friendly and accommodating and offered us an extra glass ice wine.
Went to Trius on Sept. 4th 2021, the wine was great, the people who checked us in were great our server was ok. Didn't feel he was that knowledgeable about the wines or had recommendations as to what we should try
Terrible value with the wine subscription service. It’s cheaper to buy the bottles you get from the LCBO than from them. Decent place but not worth the cost.
Excellent! Wine, food and service were exceptional!! Their showcase East Block Cab Sauv is a must try!!
Amazing but soooo expensive. I guess it's worth it though? If you're not rich like me, this is a SPECIAL occasion place.
Amazing place. Excellent food and wine, also gluten-free food. For wine lovers and not.
My wife and I come here on special occasions like my birthday or just a nice stop before or after a wine run. We've always been happy with the service and food here. The best time is in the summer to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun and scenery. Will be back.
Wonderful atmosphere! The service was exemplary; our server Brad was fantastic and very knowledgeable for both entrees and cocktails. We cannot wait to come back and experience the excellent service and cuisine.
We tried brunch on Sunday. Every course is a surprise. Strongly suggesting! However, service was a bit slow. We rarely see our waitress.
This is our first time at Trius Winery. It was absolutely packed inside. The staff were very friendly and fast to accommodate. I would recommend as your first stop off the highway to start your wine tour.
Always a solid experience here. Wine is about a 3-4 and their property is definitely the highlight!
Just left Trius after a lovely lunch. Social distancing practices in effect. The ambience and meal were great. The Baco wine was a hit. We had the steak and salmon and chicken liver parfait appetizer. Both choices of desserts were awesome peach panna cotta and double chocolate raspberry tart were deliciou. Their coffees were great too. All on all a terrific experience.
I came by with my boyfriend on my birthday to purchase some wine. Never being here, we went into the shop where an employee was very rude to me for entering through the wrong door. (They did not acknowledge my presence otherwise). Very rude service, would not come again. Left very disappointed.
I booked the private studio room for my parents' 35th anniversary this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The service was impeccable! The kitchen was able to accommodate all dietary restrictions without any hassle and they personalized the menu for my parents with their names at the top. It was really lovely and the food was delicious. A few of us did the wine tasting option and it was a lot of wine but I enjoyed it.
I came here for a Bachelorette Party, we had a wonderful experience. All of the girls raved about the service we received. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and on top of everything. I ordered the Sumac Spice Roasted Top Hill Farm Cauliflower, it was delicious. I also ordered a bottle of wine (also delicious), and never even had to top off my own glass, as he would appear and top it off for us (I would never expect for a server to do this, but it was a really nice bonus). I wish I could remember our server's name to rave about him more personally. I would definitely return in the future, and would love to explore the winery next time too.
Visited Trius on a super snowy Sunday and was a little nervous going in because it was almost empty but it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences to date. Every person we came in to contact with was so lovely, attentive and genuine. The meal was impressive and delicious, very thoughtful execution of the ingredients. Our server was fantastic, not overbearing and made some great recommendations. Can't wait to go back!
how does this place get 4.5 stars? Terrible portions, unreasonable pricing, and bad service. The trifecta for what makes a bad restaurant experience. If you get BRAD as a waiter, just ask for someone else: lack of personality and rude. He clearly saw that we were disappointed with our dishes. Me in particular with the tasting menu: to begin... the mushroom soup which tastes watered-down, there were barely any mushrooms and not burrata cheese as described in the menu.... We all had to add salt and pepper to the mushroom soup. Let me point out that one of us is a culinary chef. I was hungry at the end of the meal and disappointed that the manager gave us a very generic response to our dissatisfaction. Apparently a tasting menu is NOT meant to be filling. He said he would advise the chef and hope we would come back again to give it another try. Y’a right!... I have better ways to spend $100. I gave it a 2 star to be generous as I liked the farm bowl although it was a tiny portion. Shame on their management
5 star service, meal and atmosphere! Went here for my birthday supper on Saturday and were lucky to get a window table for two. Our server was very cordial and joked around with us. The 5- course menu was nice in that you could take any of the courses separately. Food choices were exceptional. I posted pix in the general photos area. Would definitely return in the sunmer and enjoy the patio.
Great food and the wine pairing with the meal was great. Staff were on point with recommendations and very knowledgeable about every detail of the menu.
One of my favorite wineries to visit in the Niagara area. The tour is extremely enjoyable, the restaurant is worth every dollar, the shop is well organized, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend taking their tour if you have the time
Beautiful winery. Went for the tour. Tasting was lots of fun. Saw whole place and tour guide Christine was very knowledgeable. Tasted ice wine, sparkling wine, red and whites!
Beautiful wine country! Loved the location and the wine selection! we came as a party of 4 and received wonderful service from Bob. The Boathouse Pizzeria was amazing! service, food and ambiance was terrific! The two who were working were just amazing and so accommodating. oh, and you must also try their Boathouse apple cider, we took a case home. Will return again!
Today was an incredibly busy day at Trius Restaurant. We had an incredible hostess named Nathalie and a phemonemal waitress named Marlee. Nathalie was so professional with everyone, and was incredibly helpful. She was calm throughout all of her interactions with us and the various other patrons checking in. The professional and cheerful staff at this location is a testament to the management. It says a lot when everyone working at the restaurant provides you with consistent service that is based on kindness, efficiency, and consideration. Management hires great people! The food is delicious with option for kids and adults. After two unfavorable experiences at Peller Eatates we reluctantly tried this sister property. Our expectations were blown out of the water. Trius is now one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Great job! Thank you again.
My SO and I went here to do the tour. I found it very interesting with a rich discussion of background. Our tour guides understanding of the wine making process wasn't as good as I hoped(I have a beer brewing past). They didn't have clear cut understanding of the specific steps. I really enjoyed the end of the tour where our tour guide taught us how to test wine through sight, smell, and taste. Also I should mention that I had other people tell me they had a better tour experience at Peller Estates Winery. With that said I would still say I enjoyed the tour here. The restaurant looked nice but we didn't eat there. We had free wine tasting vouchers at other wineries to run off too.
Ate here with my girlfriend. Had the Scallops, Pork Belly, Cheese board and Burrata salad. Some scotch and a glass of wine. Everything was divine. Cant speak more highly of the service we got. Patrick was incredible!
The food was delicious ! the wine that was paired tasted great! Our server was informative and great! I definitely would recommend to try this place!
It was a fun place to eat. We brought our four daughters, all under eight. The staff were great with them. We felt everything we ate was super.
Service was good, however the mix of ingredients just didn’t work, creating strange flavours.
Food was great, having said that, the management can do far better training the Hosts and the shift manager
I had a delightful dinner with the wife and folks. We went mid July so it was very hot out, but ya know, that's how she goes sometimes. The food was very tasty and the ice wine bitter was just impeccable. Overall I'm excited to go back soon. Would recommend!
Had such a great tour! Such a fun new atmosphere they have at trius with the Brut bar and rose theme!!! It’s fresh and visually stunning. Our tour guide was kind and knowledgeable and made us feel as though no question was too trivial or complex. The cotton candy with your final glass of rose was such a treat! Only recommendation is that they improve the discount for bottles after the tour. Nothing is offered... would be nice to at least get the usual $8 towards a bottle off the tour price if you commit to a selection in the wine room.
Came for a wine tasting for 2. The staff would not honour the coupon, since it had an old name on it (Hillebrand) even though at the back of it, it states it’s Home of Trius. (We got this coupon over a year ago, but due to pandemic did not have a chance to visit). When we mentioned that even though the name was changed it’s still the same winery and same family, and we would order food as well... maybe they should honour it? After that, the staff changed their mind and said that they could accept it but only 1 person gets free winetasting and the 2nd person has to pay. We found it to be a little bit sneaky. You either fully honour the coupon or you do not honour it at all. You don’t say no, and then change your mind and offer something else with less value. We said no, thank you and left. We ended up going to Inniskillin Winery. Had a great time there ordered food, ordered wine tasting and then ordered a bottle of wine. They also had 2 musicians playing music. Atmosphere was excellent. Due to the way the staff handled the situation, another winery got our business instead. Just based on this experience i would not recommend this winery. Probably visit all other 10 wineries first before coming here. Good luck.
Very good wine ... I like the ambiance. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tri d the Rose slushie it was yummy.
Great service. Good food. Good wine.
I’ve been here several times and have always had a great experience. In fact, I have a given a 5 star review before. The black glass experience was, for lack of a better word, horrendous. The bartenders were cold and acted like we were intruding. #expectmore
we LOVED this winery! so glad we went! as you can see in the photos, Dan was our wine tasting person & he was FABULOUS! we shared that we just got engaged last weekend & he told us he’s been happily married for 47 years to his love barbara! he was so kind & we could’ve chatted with him forever! the property is gorgeous as well! they have a restaurant, awesome shop, an outdoor bar, everything! i hope we can come back again sometime!
Absolute disaster. It started to rain and all the service staff ran inside leaving all of us behind. I used to like this place and you will not see us ever again. Management is clueless. If I could put no stars I would.
I come here every year. Always great wine and food.
We just had our company Christmas dinner in the private dining room, the food was incredible, especially loved the pumpkin soup. The staff was great and very knowledgeable but also fun. Highly recommend this for a group function and look forward to returning with my family. Thanks for making the night special for all of us. Coletara Development
Nice and classy tasting room. Of all the wineries we visited over the long weekend, this one had the best tasting guide.
Beautiful winery!! Laid out very nice and the frosé is delicious!!! Have a great selections of vintage wines in their store
Love it! We come down here all of the time. Great wines, great food, fun little events and tastings. The staff are great as well. It's also a two minute walk to Wayne Gretzky's Distillary.
Very nice restaurant, good food and wine
Very impressive presentation on the event we had, food and movie. Excellent food, and the wine that paired with. Can't wait for the next Rock Band concert on Jul 14.
We enjoyed lunch here as part of our honeymoon, and the food and service were incredible! We enjoyed the patio looking out into the vineyard, and after visiting most of the wineries and restaurants in the area, this was a highlight of our trip. Thank you so much!
Lovely winery however was disappointed with service at the wine shop. No one offered to help us make a selection, even though we clearly were not finding what we were looking for. Then the staff never bothered opening the door for us as we struggled to leave with our arms full. Especially annoying since two employees were standing right next to the door chatting.
Friendly staff, charming property, reasonably priced wine. Tastings are conducted on a relaxed outdoor patio versus indoors at other wineries
Very close to Gretzky that you can walk to it from the vineyard. We went for tastings, but it looks like a great place to have a get together for group outings. The tasting area is pretty standard looking, what you would expect from most tasting areas that sell wine and wine related items. I didn't enjoy the Syrah as much as Gretzky's, but the Cabernet Franc was great. Again that can change with the seasons.
This place offers various experiences in terms of wine tasting. It is also very instagram-friendly with various places set to take cool pictures. We went for the 3 courses dinner with the wine pairing. Everything was absolutely delicious and the somelier was very informative on the quality of the wines. If you are planning on visiting vineyards in the region this one should be on top of your list.
First time visit a couple weeks ago. We stopped at the shop and get some wines before heading to the restaurant, the shop is very nice. I got to try the fix prix four courses for $75, the food was great. The service was nice but kind of little slow for me, well, I understand that they try to make us enjoy our time and experience there but we were hungry. I really like the cheese plate that come with Chicken pate, super yummy. It was a great experience, we enjoy our time, love our food and wines. We’ll be back and next visit we’ll try the lunch!
4* for the winery, but only 3* for the restaurant. The winery is interesting, though it seemed a bit deserted on our 10:30am tour. The tour was interesting and worth doing. Now, we expected more from the restaurant, which is looking beautiful, but the service and the food could use improvements. For example, my husband could barely take a few bites of the Linguini Pasta, as it was way too oily and heavy - not really enjoyable. The Salmon & Lobster cake was delicious but again a bit too heavy served together with french fries.
Been here a few times for tastings, I personally never really care for the service usually, but came again Aug 9th, in the BLAZING heat, and our server Grace was so amazing, she definitely deserves a raise! I feel for them on days like today when people are kinda grumpy because of the weather. Don't be fooled by the "fancy flight" option for $10, these are wines that used to be on the regular menu and were taken off recently for some reason. Just stick to the normal tasting menu.
Exquisite dishes, not cheap but worth every penny. Blueberry desert was to die for! Broccolini appetizer was fantastic! Ordered the Trius red, another excellent choice. Definitely recommend.
We had a great time at Trius Estates Winery for lunch today! We had 3 courses for $70 and a flight of white wines for $16. The food was surprisingly pretty good. We had the cauliflower, cheese board, house snacks, and tomato salad. Servers …
Oir server Chris was fantastic! The food was delicious. Highly recommend for a classy, outdoor dinner.
Been to the winery a couples times and it's beautiful! Lots of photo ops too ???? Finally got to try the restaurant this time so I'm reviewing that here. Restaurant and the food presentation are beautiful. Food is delicious. Our server was really nice and attentive and overall was a lovely experience. Would recommend!
What to say about Trius Restaurant other then, well done! I was at the Trius restaurant with my wife and two of our friends as a wine tasting day trip. I have to say, we all had a beautiful experience. From entrance, ordering process, kindness, food......the entire time everything was very well organized, great attention to detail and very sophisticated! Trius management, well done!
As a local, it is the best fining dining in town. VERY disappointed yesterday, food was great, service amazing and the menu is over 50% vegetation. Need more option for the meat lover. So happy you are offering more to the vegetarians but with that menu, we ate all of OUR options yesterday, can not return till the new menu is up and $39.00 for a squash main course is not happening for me, more options please.
Did their wine tour recently and really enjoyed it. Fortunately we did it as part of a small group, due to the lockdown, which made it much better. The grounds are well kept and I enjoyed the interior and exterior design for all the different rooms and towers. The wine was good, favorite one we tried was the rose.
It was a neat experience, and the staff, besides the hostess, were very knowledgeable and attentive. However, as far as value is concerned, I have had much better meals for at least $50 dollars less. Also, the hostess was short and rude. I expected more for the money.
Trius never disappoints. I visit every year when doing the Discovery Passport and the food is always tasty and the wine is refreshing. I would highly recommend Trius!
Cozy atmosphere and great wine. I can't complain at all.
Lack of staff organization led to our reservation being canceled. We booked a pre-paid patio wine experience and arrived at the winery through the back parking lot. We walked up to the first patio hostess stand that we saw, waited in line for others to get helped, then told to go to a different patio line near the main entrance. Went to that hostess station and waited in that line. By this time we are about 20 mins late for our reservation but since the table should be reserved for the full 45 mins, felt like it shouldn't be a problem. The staff member at the patio station was super rude, said your late and go and wait in another line to see if they can help. Now the "My Wine Country" hostesses - which were sweet - goes back to the nasty patio hostess only to come back and say that our reservation is canceled and they can't accommodate because the table is gone. A table which we pre-paid for for 45 mins. 20 mins of which should still be open at this point. They refunded the money but the whole experience was bad. What's the point of giving you a email, phone number and contact information only for them not use it? Perhaps consider updating your on-site signage to help guide guests to the right check in spots instead of using bad attitudes.
You pay for the brand....The tasting costed seven dollars for three different wines of your choice. After, if you enjoyed...you were able to use that money towards the purchase of a single bottle. The atmosphere was welcoming and for those who didn't have lunch there was an onsite restaurant. I gave this winery a four because after visiting several others nearby, I felt like the tasting could have been complimentary. Plus there were other wineries that had other wines that were not well known, but more tasteful.
This was by far the best dining experience we've had in a long time! The meal was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the wine was delicious. The pacing was perfect to allow us time to relax and savour every bite and sip. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
We had lunch there to celebrate our 1st anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing! The beef keftas they gave us to start our lunch off were outstanding! I would happily take a dozen… or two! Our server was really nice too. The view was beautiful even though it was a rainy day.
Food and Wine were amazing BUT by the end, when we were paying, the server was complaining how we did not pay enough tip for this "nicer" environment ( when we left over 10%). We were paying with apply pay and actually meant to leave her with extra tip hy cash, when she asked us to why didnt we give more tips it became a very awkward conversation. We ended up giving her more tips anyways by cash but we could tell the whole thing was just faking it for more tips!!! Management, please train your employees better than this
Not great service at all so they are lucky the wine was good. First it was the most expensive wine tasting on our route. We waited an hour to get in just to have a rude and unknowledgeable server who barely spoke two words to our group and clearly did not have any pride in her work or wine in general. We ordered food and it was small portions for price you pay. One of the tasting glasses had lipstick on it so we told the server and she did not apologize at all and said that is what lipstick does but did get us another glass but did not make us feel great about having to ask for another glass. Overall, not a great experience with the service part but the wine was good so that is where the 1 star comes from.
Came over through the back way from Gretzky's sat on the patio. Our sever Mac was great. We had the 5 cheese board absolutely incredible who knew blue cheese and honey could taste so good.
Had another great wine tasting experience at Trius Wineries. We didn't realize it was now mandatory to make reservations for the tasting but our front hostess made sure it was a smooth transition inside based on availability and a few health questions. Covid questions are done through a code and a questionnaire pops up. It would be a good option to have another version of the questions available for people who aren't technologically proficient as well. The wines tasted crisp and fresh and the server was extremely careful on checking glasses before serving them not only to our party, but to all parties due to covid protocols. Spacing of parties was 2-feet all around the island tasting table. We purchased 2- bottles of wine after our tasting but I am disappointed in their regulation of policies as we did not receive the $10 rebate on wine bottles mentioned on the tasting menu.
Very lovely place to eat with amazing food AND… they gave me a full extra cheesecake dessert when it fell off the stick on the ground
My husband and I are typically very easy to please, both with palette and experience. However we visited Trius for an anniversary dinner on the patio and were seriously disappointed. My first impression was with the washrooms, which were very poorly maintained, dirty, water splashed everywhere, and in disrepair (the toilet was broken). If I planned an event there, my guests would be using those washrooms? No thank you. They served us cold tomato soup in a shot glass, and salmon on a soggy piece of bread as the “kitchen snacks” with cold bread + butter. The ribeye was utterly tasteless, as if not even salt + pepper were used to season. And the view on the patio is of their lacklustre vineyard area shielded by their warehousing operation, with staff moving large trucks and stock around the entire time. AND the wine was a disappointment. The one saving grace of the experience was our waitress, who was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
So we had an impromptu dinner here. Made reservations on the phone in the parking lot in hopes of getting a table during COVID. To our surprise, we got a table, and then we worried we may be under dressed after a day out and about shopping and living our best lives that we may not adhere to dress policy. But nope, all staff made us feel welcomed!! We were greeted pleasantly with smiling eyes, signed in through an app for COVID purposes. Dinner was spot on! We had a cheese platter, accompanied with a bottle of wine which we ended up buying more of in their adorable retail store. The iron steak was grilled to perfection and the lake pickerel’s boasted flavour with its horseradish coleslaw. I’m drooling even typing this. Truis made our date day end on a fabulous note & we will be back!
Good wines, but there are much more pleasant vineyards to visit that are less commercial! Pros: Good wine Cons: Run like a high profit tourist attraction rather than a quaint charming vineyard. You have very little time for tasting (even with a reservation) and the tasting area does not have a view of the vines.
This winery restaurant has fabulous food and service. At first, I was nervous about the small selection for dinner; the choices looked amazing, but I have a dairy allergy. However, there was no need to worry. Almost anything could be adjusted and I had an amazing meal. This was the first time in years that I had mushroom soup, as that is usually cream-based. For dessert, the chef prepared a completely off-menu apple crumble with apple sorbet.
Had an outstanding dinner at Trius. The ambiance, and design were a great backdrop for the exuisite food and wine. The staff delivered great information about the winery, the food and the wine pairing. The food was as you might expect fantastic, locally sourced and plated to perfection. With each course we had the opportunity to drink some of their estate wine, again the staff explained the wine and wine making process. Would 100% go again - no regrets (expect maybe not getting the lamb shank).
We ended up there while visiting Gretzky. There is a little pathway joining the two wineries. Glad we took it. I tried their bubbly flight and absolutely enjoyed it. It was refreshing and rewarding after a full day of winery visits.
Had an amazing time doing the Trius Tour with some friends! Such a fun experience
Sept. 22, 2016 Just got back from here, first of all, the tour was really good....thanks to Josh. Really informative and interactive. Just fun...thanks Josh. Next up, winetasting. Kevin D. was fun and knowledgeable. Thanks Kevin D. Lastly, the wine is very good and reasonably priced. By the way, the winery it a beautiful place. Very nice. We are from Michigan and they just don't have them as nice. Worthwhile visit.
Food at Trius Winery & Restaurant is really good! Especially the duck egg, steak and Pecan pie with pumpkin ice-cream! ????
As always great food and wine, great service, pleasant atmosphere.
We had an experience booked and due to a glitch our reservation was mixed up. Their staff went above and beyond to still make our visit very wonderful. Food and wine was great. The service was even better making it all a memorable birthday getaway.
This winery has a big conference Center for event and wedding. There's a restaurant with patio beside beautiful fountain. There are many well designed and arranged landscaping attractions in winery such as gazebo, lookout, grape field... The store is great too. Each wine is arranged very well.
Amazing dinner experience for a girls' night out! Each dish was presented beautifully, and tasted exceptional too. Excellent pairing with the wines.
Called today for curb side pick up and the customer service over the phone was AMAZING! I love Trius & I'm exciting for a little drive from Toronto to the Niagara Region to pick up my wine!
Trius was absolutely amazing. Great food. Kind and thoughtful staff. They ask about food allergies. Timely service. The wine tour was amazing. Our guide, Tom, was so knowledgeable, funny, and charismatic. He took pictures of us as well so my family could be in one picture. Amazing place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Trius is the best winery in Niagara region in my opinion, I have been to this winery many times and never been dissappointed. The wines are very good and I highly suggest you get the wine club membership so you are avpe to see the great Loft. They will offer you a more intimate and educated wine tour.
Went out there for a surprise birthday trip and it was an awesome day. Shout to Peller for allowing amazing curated experiences. The Trius Winter dome experience was perfect! Great tasting with a perfect charcuterie board. The staff were great and even sent some complimentary bubbly for the birthday girl. Cheers to Rebecca, Nicholas and Curtis. Highly recommend the experience! Finished of our stay with the black glass loft tasting ????
Delicious wines, tasty pairings. Quaint winery quiet and delightful. A must visit on the winery tour
Had an amazing lunch at Trius! It was raining so we never really got to explore the grounds, but the restaurant was beautiful and the food was a work of art! We had their prefix menu (app, main, and dessert) and an amazing coffee martini, followed by a flight of wine!
Sign up for their new Truis Wine Tour! The property is so beautiful and enchanting. We took the tour with Spencer who is amazing and knowledgeable. The tour includes visiting different rooms around the vineyard and tastings. Lots of great photo opportunities. Located next to additional wineries. Try their award winning Rosè! One of the best winery tours we have been on and great tasting wines and Rosè.
We enjoyed their Fabulicious menu ! The service and ambiance were wonderful. The food was amazing both of us ordered different dishes and we were not disappointed. We will definitely return
Awesome place to visit ! We loved our restursnt experience there, as well as the wine and their vineyard ????????????
Server Braden was very professional and courteous all the meals were very enjoyable from start to dessert. Good job!
Had a wonderful anniversary lunch here. Welcomed with a glass of champagne and absolutely beautiful and delicious food. Atmosphere was great. Couldn’t have been better. Will be returning!
It's all about "the experience"! Unfortunately, Trius Restaurant, with the exception of the dessert and the Trius 2015 Chardonnay, the restaurant did not deliver. We had visited three 3 years ago for lunch to celebrate our 42 wedding annervsary. The presentation, staff and overall quality for the price was "outstanding"! This time we decided to celebrate our 45th for dinner, with expectations that our experience would be as good or better than the last time we visited. The entrees we selected, red pepper bisque for me and scallop for my wife lacked taste and substance. Only to be followed by the main course - ravioli/marscapone medley (ravioli, count them....1, 2, 3....wow!) unfortunately overcooked and a "miniscule" amount of marscapone cheese, hidden in the mesclun and white fish from Lake Huron (not available....why?) we had reservations for 6:30pm - we were one of the first clients to arrive for dinner. Good menu planning! The substitute Artctic Char was cooked with little or no vision and with lack of taste. It's all about the experience! Needless to say, this experience is one that was certainly not worth the price we paid for dinner! Sorry Trius, this time you did not deliver!
The experience, even during the pandemic was completely top notch. The quality of food, the complexity of the ingredients, the wine flights that compliment everything on the menu was fantastic. We really appreciated the knowledge of our server also. The free champagne on our anniversary was completely unexpected and a great surprise. We expected quality and got just that. It was spectacular, thank you.
Great experience with our wine tour!! Kevin was amazing... loved it!!
This is a very popular winery in Niagara On The Lake. I recommend booking reservations in advance even on a weekday. …
We visited the winery and had a tour. Linda was very informative and friendly. The wine tasting was wonderful and the grounds are beautiful even in the winter. Unfortunately the restaurant was full so we didn't get a chance to try it.
Our second stop on a wine tasting tour. We didn't reserve a time but we're still treated to an impressive tasting up in Trios' 'The Loft'. High end decanters available. 30 Bench is on site as is a large store. Thanks for your time!
Had a good experience! The wines were delicious and Miranda helped us find new wines to try that would fit our tastes! She was so helpful
Outstanding service and overall atmosphere. Flavourful wines produced by their own fields of grapevines. Available parking and clean walkways guide you throughout the winery. An experience not to be missed if you are considering a winery tour.
Just had our Wine Tasting from Trius. Although the wine was great but the service was the worst. The person who was attending to us completely ignored us the whole time. Not even once, explained to us anything about the wine nor ask if we need anything else... Would not make eye contact and just walked away and never came back. I would expect more as wine club member.
This is my experience from 2 years ago and judging by the recent reviews I think they havent improved their service. Extremely rude staff, to the point where we debated leaving the place, but since we were really hungry, we stayed and had their mediocre and pricey food in a bad mood. I was thinking, I wish I had so much money just to buy the entire business and fire those snobby staff.
Amazing! So cute and the wine was really good!
Everything about this winery is wonderful. The food was delicious, the wine was paired perfectly and the entire atmosphere of the winery was excellent. Great experience and very kind staff.
This review is strictly about the resturant (not the winery) I had lunch with my fiance at the Trius resturant. I will not be going back. While the food is tasty, their menu is quite limited (may be different for dinner). Their food is also massively overpriced and their serving sizes are tiny. There are other winery resturants in the area that offer better value, more diversity in their menu, and higher quality food. One example of poor value is $16 for a lobster "salad", where you get two pinky sized pieces of lobster and no vegetables.
Tried the tasting menu ...we had 6 in our dining party...it was OK. .food on time and warm when arrived...but to a person one of our tastings we had a bite size filet. ..each person requested rare....all meat for each person when arrived was well done.. Good steak...but why do they even ask you how you would like it cooked . Only thing I would never order again there is a martini. ..so watered down..don't think there was a drop of gin...others tasted also and said it was a rip. Told waiter and he smiled and said I guess you don't want another.... (That cost him a 5% less on tip)..our total bill was over $1000.
We came in to the winery with some friends who had a membership - they sent us up to the VIP bar, where we had great selection of tasters and very friendly service. The membership is definitely a fantastic deal, worth looking into. We decided to grab a few bottles downstairs on our way out, and to do another quick tasting before leaving - the service at this tasting bar wasn’t as friendly however. A marked difference in how you’re treated upstairs versus downstairs, which is too bad. Overall a really great experience though!
Great tour and tasting with helpful guide. Then the restaurant afterwards was excellent - great value with the local (to Niagara) deal on at $25 for lunch. Great food and service. Very busy for a Monday with tours and also in the restaurant.
Good place for a wine tasting. Make sure to make a reservation for dinner as well in the restaurant because they really dont have food food to order at the outdoor wine bar area. Kinda annoyed though that they couldnt accomodate a party of one in the restaurant for dinner. Like its one person its not that hard. I bought a reisling icewine here since it was cheaper here than at two sisters vineyards. The instagrammable shots here thats for free is only one spot by outdoor wine bar. Otherwise the cute photos u see on ig is for the $300 per person wine tour.
Went on a very informative and fun tour of the Trius winery. We got to sample some icewine, sparkling white, red and rose. We will definitely come back in the summer to experience movie night!
Went for supper at Trius Winery with family and a dear friend. We were served by Ashley who was beyond amazing…bright, friendly, knowledgeable and perfect timing where we were not rushed but not waiting too long, either. The food was nicely portioned, perfectly prepared, fresh and innovative. Two ate pescatarian and two vegetarian…delicious. Lovely ambiance, great food and drink and superb service.
We did the wine tour and tasting with Kevin and it was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable and funny, and of course the wine was delicious. By far the best winery we've visited in this area (and we've visited several).
I just don't know where to start - this place is just fabulous. It had been some time since we'd been to Trius but their customer service is just like fine wine - better with age. Saved this spot for our last stop. Met Dan at the bar for some tastings. He was Fantabulous.....so fun and freindly. Made a suggestion for the Rose and I was so surprised I liked it. Once he found out exactly what kind of wine my husband and I both enjoyed he offered to get us a tasting from the bolder wines upstairs. Luckily Julia was available and could provide the tasters we were looking for. AMAZING... wine! AMAZING - service. Julia was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, was just delightful to speak with. They were both such a pleasure to spend time with. The wine ... well that speaks for it self - we came home with a case and a half. After that, we headed for some Brunch. This was the only slightly negative issue - when we went to see if there was a table on the patio, there was no greeting - a young man was standing there whom we found out later was Billy - he seemed put out that we had asked for a table and opted to answer the phone instead of dealing with the people right in front of him. Regardless, another young lady came along and got us seated. We decided to both do pairings for our order. Scrumitous flavours bursting with every bite. So much food and such delicious wine. I believe Michelle was the lovely young lady who looked after us.. She was friendly, efficient and so happy. Your water was never empty - there always explantions from whomever was bringing your next glass or course. HIGHLY recommend you TAKE your TIME at this winery - enjoy the view, the patio, the people and the wonderful wine they share with us! You won't be disappointed. Cheers~
Excellent experience! What an impressive place....it's set up to be safe for all visitors and staff. Social distance seating at the Black Glass wine tasting was such an elegant and very special experience. Celebrating my fiancés birthday with a perfect culinary delight from Trius Restaurant. Every course was exquisite, served promptly, and the presentation was outstanding. Excellent value and 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ service. Great options for wine pairing. We will definitely be back to have some other selections from the menu...!!! Thank you to the team at Trius.
Gorgeous winery! The tour was great, I learned so much about wine and champagne (brut). The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny (Kevin D.), I also had the pleasure of doing a tasting with the same tour guide and he was extremely helpful. Ensure that you make your restaurant reservations early because they get booked up very quickly. The scenery was amazing, perfect place to take cute pictures! I highly recommend going to Trius.
Wow. Location is incredible. Wine country outside Niagara Falls is absolutely gorgeous and Trius Winery is non-exempt. Had the pleasure of taking a tour of the winery and it was amazing. Our tour guide truly made our day. He was funny, informative, and witty and we absolutely loved him. At the end, he even opened a bottle like Napoleon!
I ordered their hamburger with a Gretzky beer. The burger wasn't that great to be honest. A little over priced for what you get, and the french fries that came with the meal were overly salted. The beer was the only decent part of the meal. I have never neglected to eat so much food that was paid for - but in this instance, I could care less about leaving all that food on my plate. What a disappointment, and a waste of money! If I had a free dinner for 2, I might think about returning and giving Trius another try - along with scrubbing this review. But until then, I will not be returning.
We had an incredible tour guide and the whole experience was 10 times as fun and interesting as I expected. The wine tours were the perfect intermission to Niagara falls. Beautiful grounds, excellent wines. You MUST try the ice wine. It's so unique and delicious.
If you're wondering which winery to visit among all of the ones in the area, Trius is the best one to go. The staff was super friendly and helpful unlike at other wineries in the area. The location is beautiful and they have a selection of delicious icewine. Our guide Nadine was extremely helpful and took great care of our group. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again. 10/10 experience.
Went to Niagara on the Lake and decided to have lunch with the family at a winery instead of Oakville, and it was a great decision. The servers were knowledgeable and the food was great. Would definitely come back again. The pork belly was the highlight of the meal for me.
Never disappoints... the setting, the food, the service, the wines... perfection.
We didn't have time for a winery tour, but we had a quick bite to eat. It was really good but a bit expensive, I'm sure it's on par with the rest of the area. It's mainly for tourists.
Great Wine and Amazing Setup! Did wine tastings with a Cheese Platter which was well curated and put together along with our wine selection. Because of COVID it was fairly "on your own" type of setup and can't wait to do it again with some experts walking you through it. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience in the Patio of their Brut Bar! Was not crowded and the views were fantastic. Will be back for more! Thoroughly enjoyed the Ice Wines (Vidal) and all of the Reds tasted (Syrah and The Red) as well as the Dry Riesling and Devine White was Devine on a hot summer day with that cold wine. Will be back for dinner.
Beautiful place to spend time around and taste great wine and food.
Wonderful !!! One of the best food of my life. Our server was amazing (chris I think), helping a lot with wine pairing and answering all ours questions. Great wines too ! Amazing visit
Excellent service and ambience. While the food was still delicious and the presentation was gorgeous, it unfortunately did not compare to other tasting menus of a similar price range. Overall a great experience nonetheless
Had a great time. Learned some new wine facts from our tour guide Oksana. Had a new experience pairing wine with gummy bears and cotton candy! Loved it???? so much fun! A definite must try!
We enjoyed the Seared Rare Ahi Tuna with Ontario Heirloom tomatoes at Trius Winery and Restaurant, Niagara-On-the-Lake. Pairs well with Trius Distinction Sauvignon Blanc. Tip#1. The Trius Distinction Sav Blanc is only available on site, NOT at the LCBO. Tip#2. After dinner don’t forget to ask for your discount coupon for the Trius wine shop.
Trius is a beautiful Niagara winery with plenty to do and see. We had a fantastic lunch that included three full courses and additionally some snacks and appetizers. Excellent unrushed service. We enjoyed a beautiful view overlooking the vineyards and later shopped for wine in the large retail space. There is also a large outdoor tasting area as well as a Brut Bar. Plenty of parking available and their Covid protocols are excellent with an easy electronic check-in. Truly a five star experience.
I liked nothing. I will now boycott this winery. If you do not allow dogs that is fine. But don't let me walk by four of your staff and get to the back of your wine tasting area before anyone says anything. Absolutely unacceptable! Especially after being at three wineries (large brands) where the dog was permitted. Trius hates dogs.
Excellent dinner! I had the tasting plate. Small portions but absolutely delicious.
Amazing wine with amazing company aswell as the best tour guide Bob! What an amazingly patient well educated man. Thankyou so much for the great experience will definitely be back for another tour round!
Amazing spot! They have wine and cider tastings, plus a restaurant! The setting is beautiful, the wine is good, and the cider is delicious! Highly recommend! And they have a walking path to the Wayne Gretzky Estates next door!
Fan-Fricken-Tastic !!!!! It has been a long long long time since I raved about a dinner .... and this was IT ! I had the tasting menu and each course seemed to one-up the next. Awesome mix of flavours and textures with a very interesting mix of vegetable sides and served in just the right portions ...Great Atmosphere and wonderful service !
Exquisite food and wine with exemplary service.
Lovely atmosphere; great food, impressive presentations, good value (3 course meal) and friendly services!
Fairly good winery, the flight of 3 wines is $15. Food selection is fairly limited but this is stated on their website, however it is quite expensive ($12.50 for only fries for example). The atmosphere is quite nice & staff are respectful. Just remember to boon a reservation for your tasting!
Very sad to see such a beautiful place that usually has hundreds of people seem empty due to Covid. If you haven't been here add it to the list of things to do. Outside tastings, gift shop open and the restaurant!!!!! The food here is top notch...???????????????? Ice wine cured salmon...steak, scallops...desserts to die for and kitchen treats that are killer...not one disappointment....thank you for a memorable and spectacular meal.
Staff was amazing, good selection of wine.
We decided to take a tour of the winery and sample a few of their wines and it was a great experience seeing how the process is performed. We were even treated to a bottle opening via sword, which I had never seen before! The staff was very friendly, and we bought a bottle after to commemorate the experience. We did not get to try out the restaurant on the premises, but perhaps on our next visit.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed the wine tasting here. Make it a stop on your tour in Notl.
Exquisite & healthy food. We had 'Farmer's Bowl" and 'Atlantic Scallop' plus 5 artisan cheeses. I went there for my mother's birthday lunch and it was the BEST ever. This winery restaurant was recommended by my Personal Trainer and it was worth the driving all the way from Toronto. Two thumbs up!!!
World-class fine dining, impossible not to love your meal and the service is fantastic! Comfortable seating, quiet sophisticated atmosphere. I'll have to come back someday when I'm not driving to really explore their wines.
What an amazing place. With good weather this is one of the best patio you can eat and drink. The food is exquisite. Quality fresh ingredients from Ontario. The brunch and lunch menu is always my favorite and so unique. The wine pairing is also part of the experience not to forget. Love this place we go often.
Had a very lovely lunch at Trius Winery over the summer. The food was some of the best food I have ever had in my life. We sat outside on the patio and the views were stunning. I highly recommend stopping by Trius for a wine tasting and some lunch. The Trius Gammay Noir is my favourite glass of wine after a long week of work!
Had an amazing tasting with Julia this evening! She knows her stuff, and was very kind to boot. Thank you Julia and Trius for a great experience.
Delicious wine tasting, we have tried 6 wines "Divine" was our favorite.
Trius made the night quite special with the additional attention to details. They served us some complimentary bubbly when they learned that it was my birthday and ensured that everything served was perfect. Service was also amazing! Overall, amazing experience and would highly recommend!
Beautifully decorated restaurant, food was tasty but portions were small... great wine and amazing hospitality
Team Brashley. ..all I have to say. The dinner was divine. The service was impeccable. Brad and ashley were amazing. As huge foodies, we were impressed. Wine paring was perfect. We became members in the tasting area prior to dinner. However, we have been here before and it is always on our "places to visit" when we go. So I will give it 5 stars as the experience, which in turn is service mostly, was no holds barred. Good job we will see you soon!
The place gives off a Napa (i.e. Gucci) vibe and the prices they charge just for a tour alone show it. I wasn't interested in paying $44 for a basic tour with 4 samples for 45 minutes when other wineries in the area and the Bench charge $10 for the same thing. I'll keep supporting the smaller mom and pop places over this facility.
Everything was excellent. I had the scallops and the lamb. Everything that accompanied on the plate was great, too! Also, I'm not a wine person but the Trius Brut was ???????????????? I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and there was a sparkler on the dessert. Very cool!
The atmosphere and location definitely presents itself as a little bit higher end, yet casual. The food was amazing, their appetizer platter was a party, tons of different flavours. Got their burger (available at the time) and it was huge, the patty was humongous and their fries are great too. Service is great and the selection of wine was great too.
Overall, I liked it (just like the rating cites). Great area, views, service was excellent from Kelly, and the flight of 3 wines was really good too. It's right beside the Gretzky Winery with a connecting path which is pretty neat too. Only reason I'm rating 4 stars is the price for a small serving of French fries was $13....they were great don't get me wrong but that's way too steep for some deep fried potatoes. The store was good as well, picked up some wine and souvenirs.
We had a tour with Ed and he was amazing. Very informative and fun to be around. Educated us on the entire experience and made us feel comfortable so we had a lot of fun. He was very personable and also took fun photos of us. I would highly recommend this tour. It was a great time.
Awful experience from start to finish. Went for a birthday with reservations made for 4pm (arrived 3:50). Was not seated or even acknowledge at tasting area until 4:30. Once seated i let the server know we had never been to a winery and was unsure what to do her response was "whats the problem? pick three wines" she huffed and walked away. Thankfully she gave us away to the other server who was a bit nicer but also never came back to our table after the wine was dropped so we could not order more. Overall experience was not what we expected and were left disrespected & disappointed.
Booked ahead for a black tasting experience in the loft. Our server was very knowledgeable and kind however there were many other customer service issues. The table was so unbalanced that the wine glasses spilled all over me, it took a long time for someone to help us. A very rude employee then informed me I was not allowed to stand beside the table for my tasting. After explaining that the table was broken and unsafe, he was very rude and insisted I sat at the broken, wet table. No one came to serve us throughout our tasting and we felt very rushed to leave. We walked out very upset and will not be going back.
I've seen them sanitize and wipe down every table after the customers leave. Made me feel safe watching them thoroughly clean. The menu is fun and has a lot of unique options not available at your local franchise restaurant or bar. Great European beer selection.
Excellent restaurant with good price value for a nice dinner. Very good wine selection, knowledgeable staff, friendly service.
Great food and service. Their kitchen does have a passion for food. Not only the presentation, everything tastes good. Their red wine butter, even though not hard to made, is tasty.
Did an outdoor wine tasting. 3 samples was $20. A little pricey.
One of the best meals we've had in a long time! Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. Highly recommended.
Fun place. Lovely place to spend the evening or even daytime for wine and dine.
Fabulous restaurant that has a great atmosphere, wonderful service and outstanding food. We live in Niagara on the Lake and this restaurant is on our list to visit regularly. In our opinion, it is the best there is in the town and that is saying a lot! It reminds us of the quality you get in the best restaurants in Europe....but with friendly service! The servers obviously like their workplace!
My recent experience in ordering wine by phone has been very frustrating. I have had three emails and made a few phone calls and received a phone call front Andrea. I ordered wine for my daughter on May 2nd. Andrea assured me yesterday that we had everything straightened out and the wine would be sent this week. Today I received another email stating there is a problem processing the payment ...again. At one point I learned the email said I had received the wine on April24th (this was a different order of wine for me from my son)..different date name and towns. After several minutes waiting for someone to take my phone call today, I hung up. I am frustrated and out of patience.
Went to Trius Aug. 2. The winery location and scenery is gorgeous and the service is top drawer! At the restaurant for early dinner and we choose the $60 two course option. The snacks that came by as part of this option were good particularly the Curry Kofta - excellent. I did not like the cold Creamed Cauliflower soup (Vichyssoise style). It was just bland and I left that alone. It tasted like it was simply puréed steamed cauliflower with a hint of some seasoning. I would have tenderized the cauliflower in some chicken stock, puréed it and added some of the stock liquid to thin out and then season as necessary. My main was a Cured Salmon dish with minced scallop and trout roe. The presentation was incredible, beautiful and artistic. First few bites were good, but very quickly the Cured Salmon got really salty in my own palette. I got to the point where my body was simply rejecting it and I just had no desire to even look at it, let alone finish it. It got salty, really quick. I thought maybe it could be the roe, but the roe on its own was not salty and was great. The salmon were also quite chunky pieces. In this style however, I think it would be better to present it as more thinly sliced pieces of salmon. I think that would have been more elegant and also compliment the fact that we are eating cured salmon. There was a side scallop preparation also on the plate. This was a disappointment. If I remember correctly, I think it was a minced scallop that was then reconstructed with minced lobster and seasoning. I understand the goal of this feature, but please don’t mess with a scallop. Nature has already made it perfect. Leave the scallop alone and simply sear it and cook it maybe medium rare to rare. Season it how you wish, but leave it in tact and just use an already perfect scallop. I really can’t say I enjoyed this dish and left most of it on my plate and my friends gradually finished it. They too picked up on the saltiness after several bites of the salmon and the unusual flavour of the scallop. There were also drops of some sort of sauce around the plate and the flavour of the sauce also did not seem to compliment anything on the plate. It took away from the natural flavours and masked what was in your mouth. Wife and friends had the rib-eye beef dish and they both raved about that dish. I tasted the beef off my wife’s plate and it was excellent. Surprised to see that steak knives however did not come out with the beef, but it was so tender, it could easily be cut with a regular dinner knife. If I had the beef, or perhaps the capon dish, the review would be higher than 3 stars, but based on my salmon dish - not good enough. I would reconsider this dish if I were in the kitchen.
Disappointment! Great place but not childern friendly. Drove 2 hrs from Toronto to have lunch here but was told fully booked. Its 2pm and at least 5 empty tables can cater us....... what a waste of my trip.
If I could give it a zero I would have. The manager, Linda I believe was her name serves three other couples ahead of us, she looked down her nose at us is if we didn't belong. We were dressed very casually but still appropriate, she found time to take a personal call after she served the three and discuss her new home and garden with a friend while we were still looking to be helped. is this indicative of your service all the time? I hope this did not have anything to do with my fiance's skin tone? It was an awful experience the 20 minutes we spent in there, felt like we were second class citizens. This is the kind of manager you have running your store? I The type that judges people? Off to gretzky's. You've seen us for the last time. Maybe some sensitivity training is in need for your employees from now on so everyone is treated equally.
My fiance and I travelled to N.O.L. last Saturday for a nice fall day and we were both very impressed with how the grounds were laid out. It was like they had their own little community. A quaint outdoor area to have a glass of wine along with another great outdoor champagne bar with heated lamps, fire table and cool design. The unique little stores had some great products and the grounds were in pristine condition. Another bonus is that it's next to Gretzky's. I really liked this spot, so much that we are taking my mom back next weekend. Gretzky's so you can hit both
Love this winery! Beautiful location, friendly staff. Went on the "Instagram" tour and had a blast. Recommend their frose when you visit.
Had a great time tasting some wines. Just wish we had more time. They only allow 25 minutes to sit and sip your wine. Friendly staff.
The service was great. The view was great and the food was great. I .could not ask for anything else.
Work party paid extra for more and better options. How we regret it to this day. The soup was the only good thing. The steak rueben is a play on a Reuben sandwich which is two small coins of meat with a flavorless perogie/dumpling on the side. The entire dish made no sense. The fish dish wasn't much better. I finally ordered an apple pie...on a spoon. Imagine your child makes an apple pie from those toy kitchens that was popular in the 90s. Easy bake oven apple pie. I saw the soul leave my colleague's face when the food was placed. You know the food is bad if your soul leaves you. Don't eat here.
I did the trius tour with my friends for a bachelorette party and everyone absolutely loved it! They were so pleasantly surprised with each element. It’s a bit pricy but worth it for a special event. Our tour guide Oksana was hilarious and enthusiastic! She made it suchhh a fun experience even though I already had an idea of what was on the tour. I highly recommend this experience to anyone.
We had an amazing time. We had booked a couple of weeks ago. From the booking to the tasting, the entire experience was superb!!! Would definitely do it again.
Good food and excellent service. Lamb was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. Halibut was overcooked a bit though. Update: Back a second time for dinner and give it a 5 stars. Food is amazing with pairing wine. Service is very good.
The hostesses were very rude and we felt discriminated against because we were white and riding bikes. If we were driving a bmw im sure we would have gotten seated immediately.
Decided to do the 45 minute tour of the grounds plus wine tasting. Worth the $40 per person cost! Very enjoyable and informative, plus great wine.
The restaurant was amazing. I went with my boyfriend. The customer service was outstanding. My waiter brought more bread without me asking, consistently refilled my wine glass with the bottle of wine I purchased without me asking or even thinking he would (I have no issue pouring my own, but it was a step above and beyond to me) and with the pandemic, the service was quite fast and efficient while all safety precautions have been taken. Now with the wine tasting, I was not happy to find out my boyfriend had to pay $10 for the wine tasting. To elaborate, he went with me FOR me. He was good with the restaurant, knows I love wine, so we did it together. But he had to pay to sit with me at the tasting as he had water. Otherwise, I’m happy with giving 4 stars. $10 is not a lot of money, but it’s the principle that matters to me.
Enjoyed a wine tasting and really liked the Trius Red, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc! The staff were friendly and pleasant. Although we did not go for a tour or try the restaurant, the property is quite nice and large and I'm sure that it would've been a great experience to try either!
I went on the Trius Tour this past weekend and absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it (especially for 'Instagrammers' or people who love taking photos). Our tour guide, Kevin, was funny, informative and helpful! We toured the premises and had many different photo ops. The wine itself was delicious and has won many awards. I ended up buying the Trius Brut at the end of the tour which is a fantastic sparkling wine.
The tour was nice but I was quite disappointed about their prices for children. They charge the same price (39$ + tax) for teenagers although they cannot have alcohol. It is a little ridiculous to charge that much for a glass of grape juice on a 10+ person tour.
This winery was superb. Rebecca served us and accommodated our designated driver, which other wineries did not and we really appreciated her going above and beyond. Cheers
We did the Black Glass Challenge - was very fun, informative, enjoyable - loved everything about it! Amazing staff!
As always had a very nice tasting experience here. My favorite for red wines in the area. Bob did our tasting. Very knowledgeable and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Small group out for a Christmas get together. Great food, amazing service.
Elegant, delicious food, staff kept the wine topped up throughout the meal. Definitely would return.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent service, impeccable food and amazing atmosphere. I brought my fiance there after I proposed, I brought my dad there for his birthday, and I will bring our son there one day (after all his teeth comes in). You will never forget this place.
Beautiful Sunday evening, short road trip with the family and we decided to eat at an old stomping ground of ours. The good; excellent ambiance, great patio and beautiful view of the grape vines, charming winery. The not so good; (Sunday skeleton crew possibly) Our waiter spent more time talking to 2 guests doing a wine pairing with 4 course meal than checking up on his other guests too. Kids chicken fingers, made in house!?, came out like cardboard from a frozen food section. Kids matter too!! Anyways, sent it back, and all ended well with the late arrival of a nice tasty pasta dish, albeit by the time the adults were done giving their portions away to feed the hungry. We have always liked this winery, hopefully it doesn’t get lost amongst the large consortium of wineries under the umbrella of Peller Estates.
We came for dinner, the taste of the dishes can not justify the price. Not good value for money. Service is good except that the wait time for next course is a bit long. Ambiance is good.
The winery date/time booked was messed due to a system glitch. Had to wait two hours for a seating because of the booking team's mistake. When my friends and I finally got seated; the server sat us in direct sun. When we asked to be moved, the manager said he couldn't. But, there were four Caucasian women that sat after us in the direct sun and when asked to be moved to a table near shade; they were moved right away. As majority of my table consisted of people of color including myself, I feel the Caucasian manager decided not to move us because he was racist. The glasses were not clean and we had to send two glasses of wine back due to bugs being in them. Very bad experience.
The pizzas are too small for the price ($18 - 24). They were tasty but if you're hungry go elsewhere...
Amazing restaurant and winery. Totally recommend for elegant dining or for a date outing. We tried the tasting menu and the superhero appetizer platter and was more than enough for 2 people. I totally recommend
Had our tasting in the loft. Very nice and our host was very knowledgeable we really enjoyed her service.
Disappointed to be told that a designated driver was asked to pay the same fee as those being served a flight during a reserved tasting. They said it was government mandated, then later stated they were following corporate guidelines. We came here as we enjoy tasting and wanted to support these wineries, but don't appreciate being misled.
Beautiful setting overlooking the vines. Excellent service followed by an equally delicious meal.
Beautiful atmosphere and tasty wine. Ashley was my server and she was very friendly. Great for a walk on a beautiful day.
Very short visit due to being on a tour. Good welcome and presentation. Very nice wine - we bought a bottle to share back at the hotel.
Yepraksi on October 1, 2020 We really enjoyed our time at Trius! We were seated at the patio as I had requested and the weather was a perfect autumn day. Patrick, our waiter was very efficient and friendly. Atlantic salmon fillet and the flat iron steak were both delicious. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be going back.
Great wine and food. Our experience was made 5 star by our waiter Pat. Very knowledgeable about the wines they produce and very friendly. Could not have had a better experience. Thanks Pat !!
Great .. venue , good service .particular fam of the Cab/Franc . Only complaint is the hard rock music in the Brut Bar probably not the best choice of music . Albeit I’m a rock n roll fan just not the music that seems appropriate for wine tastings
Went to Trius for the first time yesterday for dinner. The venue is beautiful, service was excellent and the food was perfect.
Went there in beginning of Sep, they just changed their menu sadly, what we wanted no longer provided. The food is good but not amazing. We all love the beef, but not others.
Excellent service from Harley. Lovely room and good wine. Can't judge the food so much as we had the pulled pork poutine. It was fine but not memorable. The rest of the menu looked much more interesting.
We frequent this restaurant since quite some years now, and we found it good enough to come back. Today however, I can't see why we should return. The restaurant was nearly empty at our arrival. We asked for a table on the patio, but we were told all the tables were taken. The only menu available was the "brunch menu", as i understand a brunch menu lists items from breakfast and lunch, but the menu we were presented with was nothing else than a simple table d'hôte, which had absolutely nothing to do with brunch! This reduced table d'hôte menu is full of repetitions. Example: my appetizer came with a fried egg and sauteed mushrooms, so did my rib eye steak. The appetizer and main course were OK, nothing more, the dessert however was a complete disaster! The black forest cheese cake came as a frozen pop-sickle covert with way too much cheap couverture chocolate, stale cookie squares, tasteless, very poorly executed and inedible. The raspberry trifle was of the same underwhelming quality and looked like a puddle of unidentifiable, unappetizing mass. The service was good, but slow, despite the low number of customers. During our two hour stay, we observed more than 20 seats, at least 8 tables available on the patio, but as I mentioned above, we were told no table is available.
We had a gorgeous private lunch at the Winemaker’s Lookout for a bachelorette weekend. The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious! This was the highlight of our weekend and the bride couldn’t believe this was all planned just for her. Big thanks to Amy at the office who made the suggestion and booked our reservation!!! We also really enjoyed taking pictures at the Rosé room. Thank you!
We had a wonderful few days in the Niagara region last week and stopped here for the wine tour. I have toured this winery a few times over the years and they never disappoint. Knowledgeable staff and nice selection of wines at the tasting bar. Highly recommended tour!
Our experience was amazing. Our waitress Suzanne was really helpful and kind. She was very informative. The question we had she answered well and very politely. We felt very at home in your wine tasting area. All staff were very helpful. Thank you very much for our experience. We will return
Exceptional visual both in terms of atmosphere and vineyard. Very nice to take lots of photos. On the other hand, on 6 tasted wines I only enjoyed the bubbles. The price of the tasting was really higher than elsewhere. The staff was really not focused on customer service except for a young nice lady with redhead :). The way the wines were served to us left us desired and we had no information about the products. If you wanna fill your instagram; go there. If you wanna enjoy great wine tasting and nice people; go elsewhere.
We were in for Taste of the Season... featuring a really nice bottle fermented chardonnay. Also a tasty mushroom soup... But it did not pair overly well with the chardonnay.
I went on a tour yesterday at the winery and it was really enjoyable, I don't drink wine at all, but all the tastings they offered were really good, they showed us some really good tips and tricks, and for the tour guide we had Kevin he's really friendly and knowledgeable. It was one of one of the best tours I've had so far in Niagara region! Would recommend it to anyone thinking about it
Great experience in the middle of grape fields with a beautiful restaurant in it.
I’ve had food on airplanes that was better than what we ate. The steak dish and hero plate were atrocious. I regret having ordered anything but the truffle fries. The server was friendly but would disappear for long stretches. Not sure how this place has 4.4 average considering how bad of an experience we had.
Amazing experience at trius winery Kevin was the nicest Chardonnay expert I’ve ever met, taught me about different kinds of cheeses and Chardonnay. After that we had the nicest guy possible and absolute expert at rose. Curtis was an absolute beauty. He showed me an absolute beautiful view of the winery, and completely changed my view on Rose. 10/10 if I could rate it that high. Thanks for an awesome experience.
Delicious wines, pretty estate and great customer service. We booked the 25-minute Trius Tasting Experience. Our favourites were the Trius Chardonnay and Trius Brut Rosé. Special thanks to Gabriella for going above and beyond to ensure our experience was smooth and pleasant. We recommend including Trius in your Niagara vineyard visit!
I hate to provide negative feedback during a time when restaurants and businesses are trying to get back on their feet; however, I have to express the disappointment experienced during my visit to Trius today. My family and I arrived at Trius for a tasting experience that I had reserved in advance. After checking in with the host, we were seated at the only table without any shade coverage (there were two seating areas with canopies overtop and our table was positioned just past the overhang). I asked if we could push the table slightly back to have a bit of coverage and was told that the tables could not be moved as they had to be spaced out at least 6 ft apart (which is fair). We received our wine flights and noticed a table under the shade clear out. We tried to track down our server to ask to be moved, however, she was nowhere to be found. We then saw our host from earlier and he told us that the table under the shade was needed for another reservation (why not move us and give the new party our original table? - both tables were for four). When we mentioned that we were starting to feel a bit overheated (my elderly father was in the party), the host just shrugged and said "we're really busy"...I also noticed patio umbrellas under the canopy that were not in use which a staff member could have easily set up at our table. Anyways, the bottom line is that if a guest expresses that they're uncomfortable, good customer service dictates that the host/server should make some kind of effort to help alleviate that discomfort. After sitting in the sun, we got the froses which were very good (and much needed).
I’ve got to say, that this was probably the worst wine tour I’ve ever been on. A friends and I drove from the city to enjoy this tour after hearing great reviews from people we know. Our tour group was so large ( and loud particularly from group of 8+ girls) that you couldn’t hear the tour guide at all. It was upsetting since you’d think that they would have been able to control the size of the tour. The tour guide had to yell information since the group was to loud and larger than she could handle. Also the tour guide had never tasted one of the wine (which she admitted) and said that she didn’t know much about it.. seriously? Overall it was a terrible and annoying experience.. i will never recommend nor will I come back here ever again
Came here for a wedding and the decor and ambiance was perfect. It was a small family wedding given COVID but was an absolutely perfect location.
We have visited NOTL many times but never got to Trius. We came over the weekend. The grounds are beautiful. The tasting room was very nice. Paige did the tasting for us. She was sweet and very informative. She even gave us complimentary tastings of the brut as we were celebrating our anniversary. The Trius Red was really good. We had to get a bottle. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family!
A beautiful restaurant on the Trios winery. Beautiful decor with lovely ambience. Their chairs need aome love and attention, they are quite dirty with spilled food (yuck) The pumpkin soup is fabulous. Absolutely worth the trip to give it a try. The mains were also very good, the fish and chips were double fried and the latter extremely crunchy and tasty. The pasta was also very good with a combination of sweet and savoury components. Topped off the meal with bread and butter pudding. Another combination of flavours egg not, cinnamon and nutmeg. Try the tasting combinations with your meal. Each pairing was fabulous
Having only enjoyed the wines, it was such a pleasure to visit the Vinyard to find that the restaurant was equally of high quality. The food, the service and thier patio were top notch and a great way to spend the start of a long weekend!
We had a wonderful dinner here! Food was fabulous, atmosphere also great, and staff was knowledgeable, helpful and personable. Overall a great experience!
absolutely amazing experience. booked the black glass wine tasting, our host kevin was super nice and friendly. restaurant was amazing as well. forgot the name of the waitress but the service and level of professionality was wonderful. menu was surprisingly inexpensive. $50 for a 2 course meal and I got scallops for app and steak for main... we went for our anniversary and were accommodated very nicely with extra wine and champagne. highly recommend
This winery is beautiful and the food is outstanding but the service is beyond terrible. I booked a baby shower there 6 months in advance. Everything was planned and set. One month prior, I was suppose to finalize the menu and do a tasting except I couldn't reach my contact person. After several unanswered emails and phone calls. I find out she no longer works there. Truis didnt think that was something I should have been aware of nor did they seem to care about my event. I was scrambling and calling everyday trying to get confirmation that my shower was still happening. In the end my Baby Shower was ruined. I had booked the wine cellar for the vintage look and planned all my decor around it to get to the venue and find out they gave the wooden tables and chairs I picked out to another party(obviously a bigger one then mine) I was left with plastic folding tables covered with black table cloths and to make it worse they moved a huge black tacky bar into the cellar. It looked horrible. The service was terrible, food was late. I was just an afterthought. It was so disappointing. My special day ruined.
They have the best ice wine so far.!
Had a wine tasting reservation for 12:00pm. Unfortunately, traffic on the highway was brutal and arrived at 12:15pm. For future guests, FYI - apparently they only hold your reservation for 10 minutes which isn’t stated anywhere on the emails and the concierge didn’t advise either when booking through our wine membership. Would be great if this was stated. Looked forward to this wine tasting but being 5 minutes late to “the grace period” meant no tasting for us. The customer service with the front desk rep wasn’t pleasant but Rebecca was more kind.
My friends and I had the absolute best time ever at trius. The tour was amazing. So much bang for your buck and our guide Kevin was an absolute riot we will definitely be back. What a stunning place
We had the best time and we owe it all to our tour guide Kevin. He was so wonderful, funny and knew everything there is about wine. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Kevin even has me hooked on reisling now after offering me a sample (I've never tried one before) Everyone should request him when booking Thank you again
We had the chance to have Kevin H. as host of our wine tasting experience and it was an amazing time. We loved him, he's nice, very friendly, fun, helpful and had a lot of knowlege. We tried white and red wine, icewine and sparkling and they were all sooooooo good. I would recommend the experience to anyone, and if you see Kevin H., just run to him, he will help to make your visit as unique as possible.
This was an experience that awakened all of our senses. We did not take the wine tour but we will be back for one. What we did do is have dinner here. This was simply one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The food tasted great, looked fantastic, smelled amazing and the texture was absolutely perfect. The Chef at the time of our meal was Bernon, we know this because we asked to meet him and compliment him in person. That’s how good this meal was! 10/10, do not pass go, do not collect $200 just have dinner here.
This place is amazing in every aspect. The ambiance, the decor, the food and the service was first class. I am happy I got a reservation right before this third lockdown. Chris went out of his way to make our experience exceptional. I highly recommend it to all.
The wine was nice but we weren't provided with any information about the wines we tried by the staff member who served us. We also were seated over 15 minutes late for our pre-booked tasting which was frustrating since two walk in groups who were ahead of us in line at the front desk, were seated immediately for tastings.
It is a great location and the wine is great. I would not recommend eating here, however. The service is mediocre at best, and the food is not much better.
I took my friend there for his birthday and the service was phenomenal. We received a glass of bubbly on the house which we were not expecting but we really appreciated. Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable in wine pairings. The restaurant offered set menus which consisted of either a two course or three course meals. There was a nice amount of options to choose from and the food was really delicious. On top of that as we ate in the restaurant we got $5.00 off to shop in their wine store. Wonderful selection of wines to choose from. Thank you for making my friends birthday very memorable and special. We will be definitely coming back!!!
We very appreciated our experience in the restaurant. The food was totally local, very fresh and gastronomic. The view from the patio is amazing. This restaurant is very safe in the covid period.
I did not attend the restaurant but I participated in the wine tour and it was delightful! If you buy any wine from them, make sure you purchase the one of a kind "Ice Wine". It was so good I brought two bottles! Beautiful place!
Beautiful winery, horrible restaurant experience. After being quickly seated we waited about 15 minutes for Branden to come over and take our drink orders. No real welcome, no explanation of wines or the menu, no recommendations. As a group of young girls we were completely neglected compared to the older ages tables around us. Service was bland, boring. Had to ask for a water refill. Would not recommend. Food was as expected, small but tasty portions. There’s a million wineries, go somewhere where you will be appreciated.
A fantastic winery, restaurant, and bar experience. Food was prepared and plated...superbly...top notch. Server Patrick was polite, and prompt with our food service.
We visited the winery and enjoyed tasting with the personable, knowledgeable and awesome Kevin! We also enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. Service, food and wines were fantastic! I highly recommend Trius! Thank you for making our trip amazing!
Came here in the summer for the Wine Tour and absolutely loved it! Our tour guide was great, She did a good job of making it a fun & interesting experience. Favorite part was the Ice Room! Wine was delicious..Highly recommended!
Quality....wine. Quality.....wine store. Quality....restaurant. I love this place and I especially love their wine!! Visit their wine store and sample their wines. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is fabulous and overlooks the winery. Service is superb. The food is exquisite. You will really enjoy it. A tich pricey. I recommend reservations. Easy parking.
We went for the wine tasting as it came with our hotel package. It was our forst time and ot was a great experience. Jenna Leask was our wine consultant who helped us try 3 different wines: Rosè, an ice wine and a blended cab merlot which were all fine wines. I would highly recommend this place for a tour or tasting. Thank you Jenna!
We took the tour with host Kevin D and it was fantastic! It was so neat to see all the different spots and to break up the tastings throughout the grounds. The grounds were meticulously clean and the staff professional and friendly. Kevin was so informative and we learned a lot. We highly recommend taking the tour!
Great service from Braden. We were a table of 10, our dinner was fantastic. Apps, entree and desert were all beautifully presented. Should also mention our tour guide Sara at Gretzky's was equally professional and provided us with a great experience.
Extremely upsetting experience. We had pre-booked the full tour and patio tasting for Saturday, July 17th. We were a Bachelorette group who had travelled to Niagara-on-the-lake specifically to visit this winery only. My best friend, the bride, was excited about visiting Trius for months! Unfortunately, it ended up raining on Saturday, July 17th and we woke up to an email that morning cancelling our tour which was booked for 1:00pm. We were all very upset, and curious as to why the entire tour had to be cancelled due to the rain. We were sure that parts of the tour were indoors, including the Sparkling House. We tried to call in for more clarification as to why the tour was cancelled, and to also check if it meant our patio tasting at 2:30pm was cancelled as well. But, there was a long wait and we selected to have a call back. We never had a call back the entire day. We hopped onto the online chat, and eventually after waiting almost an hour, we connected with someone. We asked if the entire tour was cancelled, and if that meant the patio tasting was cancelled as well. Yup, absolutely everything was cancelled. We explained that we were here for a Bachelorette, and if there was absolutely anything we could do. We thought maybe we could just have the indoor portion of the tour, or just visit the Sparkling House. Nope, there was nothing they could do for us. We were left and stuck in our Airbnb that we had travelled to and booked specifically to visit Trius, and the staff didn’t seem at all willing to figure out a solution. Later that evening, we ended up seeing that a friend of a friend on Instragram was at Trius that day for another Bachelorette party!! We messaged her asking why her tour wasn’t cancelled if ours was, and she told us that it was cancelled originally, but once she explained that she was there for a Bachelorette, Trius told her that they could come in. This was absolutely heartbreaking and devastating to the bride. Why cancels someone’s special day, and allow another group to enjoy theirs? How is that fair by any means. We spent a lot of money to come to Niagara-on-the-lake and the experience we expected from Trius was taken away from us, and given to another group instead. Do not book any special event or date with this winery unless you are willing to be devastated.
We went there for the wine tasting tour. It was extremely underwhelming. We saw all the happy girls on instagram, and thought we would have a similar experience, but the people were cold and the service was not up to mark. We were served three wines of our choice per person. However, we were not given any information on any wine, the only time the server talked about any wine is when we asked them about the wines while we were choosing the wine from the menu. It wasn’t just us, but I think that’s how their “tour” is designed. All the staff members were extremely unenthusiastic about everyone, just not us, so it’s nothing personal. It was also raining the day we went, and everyone was least helpful to try to not get us wet. I’m sure the place is beautiful on a sunny day, but I would go somewhere else for a proper wine tasting tour, so I can atleast find out about the wines.
Great taste!
Trius Winery is one of the best in the region. Its a must stop place!
This is a real gem. The winery is stunning! The view from the restaurant overlooking the grape orchards is phenomenal. This winery has been around for a while and they know their business. Their wines are good. The Trius bottle is instantly recognizable. They have won many awards. They are now paired with the Wayne Gretzky winery and Whiskey distillery. A walkway runs between them. This is a must visit winery when coming to Niagara. Very crowded on weekends!
Had the three course dinner, food was delicious, staff was helpful and overall great value.
Excellent place . Had dinner and it was great. Staff was terrific, food was excellent. Bought some wine.
Had a wonderful first experience at Trius yesterday. The service was truly outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to make our evening special. We sauntered over the bridge and through the beautiful grounds from Wayne Gretzky …
Most enjoyable tour of the day not to mention the least expensive. Tours also run later than most wineries. Beautiful grounds. Liz (our fantastic guide) was knowledgeable, entertaining, and professional.
Went for a winery tour, wasn't really sure of what to expect. I think it was the first time the guide was doing this. The wines were great. Whites a little dry for my tastes( I like reds and that sample was really good). Honestly I fell in love with the ice wine. Surprisingly, my wife didn't care for it much. I was expecting like a real tour of vineyards and press rooms, that didn't happen. Perhaps that's not what a wine tour is, I really don't know. Trius owns Gretzky next door and another winery. Real upscale corporate feel to it. I just personally prefer mom and pop operations. Glad I had a 2 for 1 coupon and it only cost 28 bucks Canadian for my wife and I. Nice couple at silks gave it to us.
When you think of a winery you assume that there will be terrific wine, the surprise at Trius is that the restaurant is as delicious as the wine. This winery is literally the best of both worlds when it comes to food and drink. The menu is sophisticated and delicious, the wine is bold and flavorful. We highly recommend you spend some time here.
We had dinner at Trius and the food was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Only complaint was that the meat was on the cold site and a tad overcooked, but it was so tender and flavorful that we saw past it. Would recommend! Plus, the grounds are absolutely beautiful.
My wife and I have been been frequenting and had become wine club members at Trius since 2008, back when it was Hillebrand. It has always been our favourite winery and wine! We have referred friends and family, boasting how incredible our experiences at the winery have been and the wine speaks for itself. Well, just over a month ago, we decided to visit and sample some of the new wines. We went to the loft , which has been our go to for getting the immersive experience with sipping the incredible wines and learning about them from the friendly and knowledgeable staff. This time, we were greeted by a new staff member named Alina. Well, from the get go, I would classify her personality as drier than any of the wine. She was very rude, condescending and made no time to explain anything. My wife and I are not judgemental people and we left with a smile on our face and thought, maybe she was just having a bad day. We visited again, this time bringing my in-laws to experience what we always raved to them about ( they actually joined the wine club when we went to Peller estates earlier that day!!). We went to the loft and saw that Alina was there. We were the only people in the room at the time. Now, it wasn’t just coincidence, but she had the same lack of personality, professionalism and rudeness to her as last time! We were fortunate enough to see Kevin and Christine, both staff whom we’ve had previous phenomenal experiences with, make our time at Trius better. My in laws said after we left that if we went there first, they would not have become wine club members due to the very poor service and experience they had by Alina. My wife and I both vowed, next time we visit Trius, if we see Alina working, we will walk out and go to another winery. It is very unfortunate to visit a beautiful place with amazing staff and best in world wines, and have it all shattered by one person. I really hope something can be done, as I am positive we are not the first to experience this lack of customer service from Alina.
Great atmosphere and service. Menu was very good, and a lot of great options for wine. Overall asthetic and location is beautiful with lots of photo opportunities and lush greenery.
Party of 5 (3 generations), we had a Sunday lunch. Service snd atmosphere were top notch. I wish we had reviewed the menu before booking; the all day menu (actually different than online all day menu) was not what we expected with high prices and tiny quantities. We arrived hungry and departed hungry. My seafood entree was basically 3 thin slices of raw salmon and the promised shrimp and scallops were compressed into 3 small bland medallions. The cost was high, just under $400 with a modest tip, for 5 people ordering the menu minimum and no wine. Giving 4 stars only because I know there are others who would better appreciate this type of cusine.
Review for the restaurant only: great atmosphere, presentation, and service. The waitress was attentive but not overbearing even though we were one of the only diners. 4 stars for the food. The lamb had two cuts of meat. The first cut was amazing (rack?) and the second cut was hard to finish (shoulder)
My friends and I visited August 2nd, and were slightly shocked at the service we received. We had pre-booked a wine flight tasting and were sat in the section with the "I believe in bubbles" neon lights. The foliage wall was covered in massive, disgusting looking cobwebs- great for halloween vibes, but not for the middle of summer. The server took approximately 20 minutes to even greet us, and he did so with a "you're my last table of the night, I'm really tired." We were slightly shocked at the complete lack of professionalism, and found him to be kind of rude to us. While ordering, he did not help much with suggestions and seemed bored and tired. We asked for the frose. 20 minutes later, he returned (without the flight still) and simply said "The frose machine is broken." and turned and walked away. We almost thought he was joking, at first. He finally returned with our flights, dropped them down and left without a word. I am honestly shocked at the experience, as this is such a well reviewed winery and we've always heard good things. I was so disappointed, I don't think I'll be returning to this winery in the future, although wine was good, the experience was terrible.
Nice day at Trius and had a glass of wine with my wife on the patio with the heater in front of us
I’ve now tried twice to visit Trius and twice I’ve had that experience spoiled by their frontline staff. In two separate occasions I’ve had my experience ruined by frontline staff members who treat their customer with destain and impatience. There shouldn’t be an issue with customers asking questions about their winery and I believe it’s not unrealistic to expect customer facing staff to answer those questions without having them roll their eyes or include sarcastic responses. I truly hope Trius takes this message to heart as I would be open to attending their winery in the future but only after they’ve re-evaluated their customers experience.
I really wanted to give this winery a 5 star, my friends and I came from out of town this past weekend and had purchased the discover passes for the wine festival, we wanted to do trius last since we wanted to stay the longest there and see all the beautiful scenery and backdrops, specifically the rose all day back drop. We saw there was a tour up at the top lounge where we wanted to take pictures so we waited and kindly asked the tour guide if we can quickly go upstairs and take pictures, he stated it was just for tours however once we leave you girls can go . So that’s what we did. Not even 5 minutes a lady came up and yelled at us in her exact words “ you girls can’t be up here. You need to leave now !!!!!” Im a 32 year old, she didn’t need to yell at us. Also she crossed her hands and said you need to leave and watched us pack our things and walked directly behind us down the stairs like we were walking out of the principles office. It was extremely disappointing as we didn’t get our pictures we wanted and also spent over 200 between us 4 on wine from Trius. I feel like we were not welcomed especially paying more then what a tour would have cost. Watch out for the blonde older lady when you go !
Absolutely love the quality of Trius Winery and Trius Winery Restaurant. Wine is great food and service are great. I’ve eaten here on a handful of occasions. Enjoyed the elaborate Charcuterie Offering called the totally Trius Plate now called the Heroes Plate. Innovative menu that changes often Wine Pairings and Flights available. Only bad experience was proposing to a woman here with latter regret.
Went for a tasting, staff was nice, clean, really pretty for taking ample pictures. Wine was great - however, beware of the Icewine, it was very sweet. Really good but REALLY sweet. otherwise, great experience!
A very unique experience at Trius started with the welcoming attitude of the hostesses Kaitlyn and Dealya. In two different occasions, same talents:excellent communication, ownership, hospitality at glance! Delicious Food, fantastic service. Our table of 4 was also greeted from the manager Eva Moughrabie. Fully engaged, knowledgeable, articulated on what was so well orchestrated with talent and care:attention to every detail, small or big: venue; seatings; food choice and overall experience. Highly recommended!
Liz was an extraordinary tour guide. She explained so well all the process, I’m giving 4 stars because of the constant advertisements about others tours and wine club.
We got screwed around at Wayne Gretzky's so walked over to Trius. Front desk service was great, provided a tasting time and a complimentary rose slushy. Once we were seated service was quite slow, waited at least 20 minutes to be greeted by a server. Wine was good, good value for the price and cheese and charcuterie board was good as well, however only serves two sparingly. Would return for another visit!
An amazing experience at Trius! The lunch course menu was perfect with portions, presentation, and taste. Chris our server was extremely attentive and pleasant. Amazing wine and amazing service! Definitely returning and highly recommended Trius to anyone visiting Niagara on the Lake!
