They have an extensive selection of meat, vegetables and prepared food. You don't have to buy prepackaged meats and cold cuts. You want 1/4 lb of capicola? You want a pound and a quarter of hamburger? You want one pork chop? No problem! Just ask for it and one of the staff will wrap it for you. The prices are good too, always better than supermarket price. People come for miles to shop here, not kidding.

I have shopped at Big Red a handful of times and have always had a good experience. Customer service is excellent, however, the management seems to have a horrible attitude towards the employees. I’ve witnessed the employees being treated in a very disrespectful manner multiple times. It’s embarrassing and saddening to see the way management treats their employees. This is not the first time I’ve noticed this behaviour and I think it’s completely unprofessional. Businesses should be built on teamwork and good relationships between employees and managers. It is no fault of the owner, however, action should be taken in regards to the manager.

I quit Costco and started getting my steaks here. Have had striploins, ribeyes, and tenderloins, and they were all fantastic! Would love to get some big tomahawk steaks here, or just some thicker ribeyes. Not sure if this is possible, but I'd love to get some steaks that are 1.5" or more thick. Produce is always top notch as well. Apples, strawberries, blueberries, all amazing. Can't say enough positive things about Reds.

Best Place in the Niagara Region to buy all your meat. Even when the store is jam packed with customers they keep that line moving at a great pace. They are never under staffed and staff is always friendly. The meat is always top quality far above what you find at the grocery store. Their prices are great and they always have what you need. My go to butcher shop. Whether you want to order online for curbside or delivery or if you want to go in store they will take care of you 100%. Their meat is top quality and so good. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. You are supporting local as well when you shop here. Can't go wrong!! I love their in store made sasauge and their beef tenderloin is mouth watering. I have been shopping at Big Red Market for more than 20 years. In the last few years the quality and service have been suffering a bit. I can understand that for the obvious reasons (COVID). Today however was an embarrassment. I went in specifically for 40 chicken wings. I got to the counter and asked for 40 wings. I wanted half flat and half drum. The girl said "we don't do that". I said that it has never been an issue before. She said again, we don't do that. I asked if she could get me someone who could do that or to get John or another manager. She looked away at another counter server and they both just looked away. She didn't answer. I said that I'd find another place that would be happy to count to 20 twice. As I left, I recognized the cashier and told her after 20+ years, that I would not be back. There are far too many young butcher businesses looking for a break in the market. I'll give them my business. Big Red Markets, you should be embarrassed and you should also pay more attention to the staff you have representing your name and reputation. Either that or you clearly don't care anymore.

Showed up for my Turkey order and apparently it wasn't placed after I had called. They scrambled to get me a "fresh" Turkey while I was there. Came home to brine the Turkey for my dinner tomorrow and its frozen solid. Not sure what the plans are for dinner tomorrow now. I cancelled my order with Lakeshore for the promise of a mismarketed ice cube. Thanks guys.

Advertised in the paper for roast beef and gravy for $3.99 and was told the paper made a mistake. Most stores (big chains) will say that the internet price may not be right and the flier is what they are based on. I drove to Thorold to get my beef from Welland and was told flier was wrong. Most places would sell for the price advertised in the flier. Usually go to this place a lot and the owners are employees are very polite but will think again before going there and if I do I will call to make sure they have the prices correct.

A fantastic, local butcher. The selection and quality of the meats is great, and the prices are really competitive too. Everything looked delicious, and I'd want to come back and try as much as I can. My friends and I devoured the burgers we got here. The staff was very helpful, but also very efficient considering how busy the store was. With some nice produce as well, it's a lot more enjoyable to shop at Big Red than any supermarket.

Im so disappointed...i ordered a fresh 14 lb turkey 2 weeks prior to pickup i was told weight would be 11 to 15lb category so i asked if it could be toward the 15lb mark to feed all my guests...yup no problem..picked up turkey today under 11lbs called to complain only to be told turkey shortage they had to give me what was available and maybe substitute for a ham or turkey breast..are you kidding me that was all i got for a sorry we didnt call you to let you know we couldnt deliver on your order... in a panic i called Lococcos and sure enough they had a 17lb fresh turkey available...from here on in Lococcos will have my business I appreciate the offer to return the turkey for a refund but i put it in the freezer and will keep it for a smaller gathering, I'm more upset about the response i got from your partner, i know John would never had addressed this so poorly and maybe a call if you cannot fullfill an order, no one wants to scramble last minute for Christmas dinner. My friend also ordered a 20lb and was given a 13lb bird. Hopefully in the future if this ever occurs again you will make that call

I have had an awesome experience 95% of the time. Bacon is amazing, chicken wings are usually huge, stuffed peppers are amazing, pepperettes are delicious. Fresh bread from riganelli's on a daily basis. Great prices on good quality produce. Also, and I cannot say this enough, their blue cheese dip is the best and cheapest I've ever had.

Yesterday I ordered 3 pounds of extra lean ground beef but was disappointing when my server called for ground beef and one of the men scream back "NO". My server told me it would just be a moment and kept asking if I wanted anything else, I kept saying no. I ended up waiting 10 minutes for my ground beef. The server was amazing but the unprofessional-ism from the men in the back was appalling.

We ordered our turkey from here for Christmas....requested a 30 to 35 lbs bird. When we went to puck it up...all we got was a 15lbs turkey. First they couldn't find our name or number...second they said they had called everyone to notify them...funny we never got no call because we had gone elsewhere if that was the case. On top of it all...the staff were very ignorant and rude.

I come to big reds at least 2 times a week or more. This morning I went at around ten after eight and I stand outside waiting to get in, I didn't even realize that they are open to seniors between 8-9 (my fault and I respect that) what I don't respect is how an employee came out with a bad attitude about it and made it clear that I don't belong there I didn't even say a word and walked away. This place will never get my business again how embarrassing to be talked to like that because she thought she could in front of 5 other people.

Only their HOT pepperettes are not hot anymore... tastes like regular..last 3 or 4 times I got them ...and I made sure the girl took them from the hot container this time. One of the worst management staff in business history... While the owners are truly good people in every regard, the managers Brad & Brianne have an awful work ethic and ZERO respect for the employees. Four of my sisters have worked for Big Red for over 15 years from high school through university. I have only recently found out the constant mistreatment and abuse they have put up with over the years. This unprofessional treatment ranges from screamed profanities at my sisters, strategic placement of lunch breaks so as to "starve them" (Bri's own words), forced 10 hour shifts without more than total 45 minutes off, favoritism, and a lot more that is not appropriate to disclose here. Our family has supported Big Red as a company for every family event and catering opportunity due to the friendship between my family and the owners, however this mistreatment has progressed to the point that my sisters have all quit, and a large portion of my family is now boycotting this establishment due to this treatment. My hope is that the owners do the right thing and restructure the management to provide future employees with a safer, respectful, and supportive place of work where employees aren't profiled due to age or race.

Called them with a couple of questions, but nobody returned my call. Not interested in doing business with a company that ignores me right out of the gate. All I wanted was to find a supplier of meats (at a reasonable cost) so I could shop there bi-weekly, with a budget of $200, as I feed my dogs a raw diet. So hard to find a reputable butcher who can fulfill my bi-weekly order.

I went to Big Red Market for the first time today as a spur of the moment decision and I was very happy that I did! The selection was great, and very competitively priced, which really surprised me. I'm so pleased that I've found a local business that I can go to for my fresh food now, and not spend any more $ (and get higher quality) than I would at large chain grocery stores!

Got my steaks here a few times and it was always good went here yesterday and grabbed 3 NY strip and they were all tough. I was very shocked by this. $30 and I had to throw one in the garbage even cooked it medium rare and still very tough. Oddly too, they had nothing left in the back just what was out on the floor. I have a few steak dinners a month and now I am skeptical about going back.

I worked at the production facility in thorold, same place that supplies their store and many many businesses. I quit after 1 week because of the unhealthy, unsafe, and just flat out disregard for food safety. On my first day a sausage fell on the ground, before I could pick it up and put it in the garbage I was told to put it on the table to be packed because this was big reds and it didn't matter. Really?? Chicken wings are defrosted in a warehouse on the concrete floor that doesn't get cleaned or sanitized. The wings from day before are picked up and new ones put down in their place on same concrete ground covered in water and blood from the prior defrost. These are the wings everyone loves right?? Climbing on product in the freezers to get to the product behind it only to be told just wipe off any foot prints. None of their production rooms are climate control which is unheard of in handling of meats. That delicious bacon, ya the racks they are smoked on, they never get cleaned just rehung with more bacon to be smoaked. There is no quality control which is also unheard of in a food facility. Management doesn't care about employees as they are constatly yelling at people. And they obviously don't care about their product. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I went there earlier today to pick up some dinner for my boyfriend and I. I recently hurt myself and need to use crutches for the time being. The staff in this location were so helpful and understanding. They helped me get my groceries to the counter to pay for and also brought them out to my car. It was such a nice feeling having a company take pride in their customers. I unfortunately didn’t catch the woman’s name who helped me but I want to commend her for helping me the way she did. Thank you so much. I’ll definitely continue being a customer to this location!
