Although the prices are good, I often find already rotted and moldy meat and cheese in the "club deal" section. The meat/cheese/cracker snack pack things were one example. I looked at the package and found the cheese completely moldy, even though the best before date was over a month away. Also you can tell some of the packaged lunch meat has gone bad because of its grey colour compared to the rest. We still shop there because it's cheap, but we always examine packing and best before labels before we purchase.

I am a regular customer at wholesale club Nelson for the past few months. I am quite happy with their pricing and availability of products. But the experience was not the same for me after my today's purchase (06/06/2020). I had bought a pack of apples (8lb) for $6.98 and most ofthem were bad apples. I called in the store to let them know of the same thing and I was quite disappointed by the way they dismissed my call just because it was made past 8pm. I can understand that mistakes can be made but it felt rude to dismiss my call even before hearing me out.

A great big store with just about everything. Ideal for large scale shopping, this is the place if you need a 20 liter pail of mayonaise. The meat department here is great, and easily the best place in the city to buy your pizza toppings. They also have a great clearance section for cheap eats that are soon to expire! Cheap lunches!

No frills......no kidding! Your in the food service industry, stop selling stale and rotten veggies, sub standard meats and other products...it DANGERIOUS! I've stopped going in there's nothing for me in there now perhaps some deal on cheese. I find staff can be rude????. With completion so high I would think after all these years you would take some pride in your Ontario based store. Also returns, are nothing but an argument even after I purchased year old prawns in the frozen section!

The only slightly redeeming features of this store are the kids clothing clearance bins and the slightly lower than average (for Nelson) prices. The store always gives me the impression that it is about to go out of business. It is cavernous and empty. There are frequently vast expanses of bare shelving in every section of the store. The freezer cases are always rattling and weezing. Although the store isn't that old it seems to be in a state of disrepair and general grubbiness. The washrooms are consistently filthy and wrecked with paper and soap dispensers loosely dangling from the walls or lying on the floor. During warm weather some part of the climate control system is usually leaking water from overhead, with buckets and totes spread around to collect the drips. There are problems with the merchandise as well. I have repeatedly found box cutter slashes in blocks of cheese and produce purchased here seems to spoil faster than produce from any other store. Frozen food and dairy products also seem to go bad too quickly. Shelves don't seem to be stocked regularly: If I go in looking for a product that I purchased there a week prior the shelf will invariably be empty. To add to all the regular problems the place has been undergoing a "planogram" exercise for the last several months so all the stock is mixed up and spread all over the store on pallets. Although there are a few stars most of the staff seem apathetic and grumpy. Their attitude combined with appearance of the store indicate that the place is likely rotten from the head down. If the manager can't be bothered to take an interest in the place than why should the staff?

Large parking lot, bring a loonie because it's slot carts. Building isn't very clean and they often have only one till open despite having four tills. They don't accept Visa credit cards. Deals are great and they almost always have quantities of products. 23$ for a box of 40 burgers that aren't grease patties is a great deal! I believe they have a membership card, might be useful if you shop there a lot. Their name brand is sunspun. Lost a star because of cleanliness and lack of open tills.

EDIT #2: They are renovating and their freezer problems have been greatly improved. I still can't say it's a 5/5 for two reasons. Some frozen meat products are of terrible quality, and they keep mouldy produce next to fresh produce with 50% off stickers slapped on, This encourages mold growth on the fresh produce and shortens it's shelf life. Overall the store still has good deals, just watch what you buy and stay away from bulk frozen pub-style meats like PC/NN/Golden Maple breaded strips and wings, calamari rings, etc (takes some trial and error to learn what's good and what's not, unfortunately). I do most of my shopping for bulk ingredients here nowadays. Be sure to apply for a PC Optimum card if you shop regularly, they will give you points on items you purchase regularly which helps even more with buying bulk cooking needs. EDIT: They Finally Replaced the Freezers. A large grocery store with the atmosphere of a warehouse and few employees. The stores main redeeming features are it's selection of products and it's great prices; Unfortunately it does have some major issues in the summer. The freezers and refrigerated shelves are all open to the environment, and in hot summer months you can often buy food that turns out to be thawed or spoiled. They have been claiming that they will get new freezers for over a year, but so far they have not been replaced.

I had. 1 item, and there were several people with huge orders ahead of me in the one checkout line. When they opened a second one after a very long delay with the customer, I went & got in that line. When the snarky guy at the cash told me to go to the end of the first line, I just told him to keep the item and walked out. How much would I have inconvenienced someone with a full cart whose partner was still stacking items on it while they were waiting in line. I'll just go to Costco...at least the staff are polite and know who pays their salary

We will always shop there. Also i made a bad review for superstore on their survey email (my bad). I had done incorectly as it was a review for my experience with whosale club so i mixed up the two. Jess called me and wanted to apologise and we figured out between us that I had done the review for wholesale club not superstore by accident and she made sure to get the survey sent to the right place. Im still waiting for someone from superstore to contact me. Im missing items and really only want a refund. I don't usually shop here however they have the coconut milk that I use. Today I was in shock at how much the store has changed for the better. They now have a HUGE selection of organic products & produce at a great price, soya products, gluten free products. New freezers, shelving. I only went if for one thing and ended up spending over $250! The prices are comparable to Costco without the drive. I cannot wait until they have finished the entire transformation! WOW There is now no need to shop anywhere else as the Wholesale Club has everything!!

Sunday's they close at 6... even tho website says 7pm. We drove 2 hours to get supplies for our restaurant, arrived at 5:50pm...and were taken completely off guard when we were told they were closing...needless to say I was not leaving without grabbing the necessities that I needed and kept them there until 7:15pm....staff overall were polite about the situation but they were definitely itching to leave. lol. Unfortunately, they lost out on approximately an additional 800 bucks in sales due to having the wrong times posted.

Our grocery shopping today was a good experience in these stressful times. On a holiday weekend, everything was well stocked, clean, spacious, and a step up from the warehouse atmosphere it once had. Our cashier Tammy was capable and friendly. It was a pleasant experience and I would recommend Wholesale Club to anyone looking for a peaceful grocery shop.

I absolutely love this place for getting bulk items at a great price! I love my candy and this place has an entire isle full of candy! I will always buy a couple tubs as it's much cheaper than buying them individually at a convenience store! It can at times get very busy, so check Googles timeline on when it is typically busy, or pack your patience! The only reason I deducted a star was because of the hours.. Just wish they were open earlier and later, especially on the weekends!

We live an hour away from PA towards Wakaw. Shopped at this location for our business over the years and were happy with our experience previously. Yesterday we were at the store. First masks had to be purchased at $1 each. That's wrong! We were at Superstore earlier and masks were free there. Shelves were basically empty where coconut milk is stocked. Nothing was there that was I previously stopped in to purchase. The washroom was dirty as usual and had bm on the toilet and seats. This is a food store and there should be clean washrooms ..one for females and one for men. I don't know how this store operates with 1 filthy washroom. Every time I stop in its the same filthy washroom situation.

I am at this store sometimes 3 x a week! The staff for the most part are very helpful and friendly. It can be hard if not impossible to please everyone who comes into any establishment so I think the job they do is more than adequate I would say very good in fact!

Good store at reasonable prices! Always at the wholesale club! 3/5 star's for a few reasons. We stopped buying meat there because it is horrible quality, rubbery chicken as well. Stock on sale items always seems to be empty. Occasionally I will get a cashier that just seems to hate their job and the customer's. Overall a great store tho, always there for 3/4 of our load.

Best prices in town for most grocery items. It is always my first stop...so that I can head to Save-On or Safeway when The Wholesale Club doesn't have what I want. I don't know what the problem is but I have never seen a store so consistently run out of basic items while simultaneously overstocking other things. Will they have toilet paper today? Who knows? Butter? Maybe. Is there any dishsoap? Let's find out! Today they are out of milk. Thanks for keeping grocery shopping so entertaining.

Today was a great experience at our favourite store. Store personelle, Greg, went out of his way to assist us. In particular, he went out back to a delivery truck to find an item not yet stocked on the shelf. He cheerfully went far beyond his duties and it is greatly appreciated. You need to put a loonie to unlock the carts. A little annoying to remember to carry change with you when you stop in. They do sell a keychain so you don't need a loonie, great but who needs another item on your keychain.

I’ve been driving from Casltegar to nelson for my groceries just to shop here. Since the PHO declaring masks mandatory, this store has chosen to respect its customers, their charter rights and protected medical rights. They are welcoming, staff is always friendly and helpful store is clean and well stocked. I’ll continue to shop here as long as they continue to honour medical exemptions for face masks, and beyond. I’ll always remember their kindness, and choose to shop here.

I like the wholesale club but not all their policies for instance if you order online items that are not stocked in store they charge $5 to pick it up that's $5 for you to drive there park walk into the store and get your items on top of the other online fees. It makes no sense to me

Good store with a good selection! I like that there is no membership fee to shop there. Prices are fair, I still shop for certain items elsewhere but you'll get a good overall experience from this store. PS they have boxes at check out so you do not need to purchase plastic bags or bring your own.
