Excellent customer service: Recently I bought some steak, jerky, and sausages. As soon as I got home and started to prepare dinner and realised that the steak was missing. I checked my receipt and the steak was not on there. I called Nesvogs and told them that I was in an hour before and the steak that I had ordered were missing. The gentleman quickly found them in one of the order boxes. He apologised and I told him I would not be able to get back to the store. I said goodbye and hung up the phone. 5 seconds later my phone rang. I picked up and a lady from Nesvogs offered to drop off the steak on her way home. We worked out meeting at a location that was more on her way home. We met and not only did she refuse payment for the steak she also gave me an apple pie. Best customer service I have ever had.

Decent service (has some grumpy teenage girls working deli at times), but great selection of meats & fantastic sausages. Feels a little cramped inside especially when it’s busy. I enjoy the variety of oils, spices and other cooking items on the shelves, many of them being European. I recommend the pies, you can’t go wrong. Altogether, a lovely local family-run business.

I had to update my review after today's visit, since I can't add any more stars after giving them all five last time. Nanaimo's best deli and butcher has become even better. They changed their shelving layout to add even more product. Nice. The items I particularly noticed were more high end convenience products like their own chili, pulled pork and pasta sauce in sealed packs, as well as some welcome produce items like lettuce, tomato, lemons, limes, and strawberries. It's nice to pop in for a few steaks, caesar salad fixings, milk, cheese and just go home without having to shop anywhere else. I finally tried one of their in house sandwiches, a couple of scotch eggs, and several salads. I had the roast beef special sammy of the day, grilled. Fantastic. Their salads are excellent. Their potato salad reminds me of the one my late mother-in-law would make at Christmas, but even better and that is saying a lot. The exemplary staff is still the number one reason to shop here. I had two super nice young ladies helping me out tonight. Well done Nesvog! One of my favourite places to shop in Nanaimo, British Columbia. They have an incredible variety of meat and deli products. Their cold cuts are, hands down, the finest I've ever had. In particular, their in-house prepared roast beef is perfect in that it is offered beautifully rare and is so flavourful. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

We came in right before closing time last night, the butcher himself came out and explained exactly which cut of meat he was finding for us and even how to prepare and cook it. You can't get that anywhere else in this town, we were really happy with what he came up with and the time he took to explain and consult with us and at a reasonable price. Plus the Nanaimo bars there are my favorite, the sandwiches are really good too.

Longtime fan of this place, recently I ordered a turducken and it wasn't as ordered....which isn't ordinarily a big deal but due to dietary restrictions from my daughters we couldn't make full use of the meal as something was added that wasn't ordered. I brought the issue up via email and Sharon (office admin) promptly and surprisingly responded with an apology and full refund. While I wasn't searching for a refund, I happily accepted and put it towards a beautiful cut of prime rib. The mistake was once in 15 years, and they made good on that without hesitation. Top quality local place that has had and always will have my business.

Nesvog Meats & Sausage Co. is a Family run business that in my opinion has the best quality meats you can buy anywhere in Nanaimo. Along with the best meats, they make their own fresh sausages daily. They stock a large selection of Vancouver Island cheeses, veggies, salads, store made sandwiches & wraps. Local farm fresh egg, cream & milk. Since their renovations, a complete frozen food section with many varieties of proggies, and other good stuff. They also carry an assortment of unique items to complement any meal. It's truly a one stop meat shop for an entire meal for just you, or the yearly company barbeque. I live in the area and I shop 2 or 3 times a week at Nesvog Meats & Sausage Co. and feel privileged to have this shop in my neighborhood. I strongly recommend Nesvog Meats & Sausage Co. you won't be disappointed.

I love this place. They have a great selection of all types of meats, and believe it or not, even vegetarian items such as yummy stuffed portobellos. Can't say enough about this place. Clean, organized, and *full* of food, not just meat either. Seasonings, condiments, pies, chocolates, eggs... which is good, because the first thing you'll want to do if you want some of the meat is to TAKE A NUMBER at the front of the store - they serve you by number, so there'll be a wait (never been more than a couple minutes for me) - so you have a ton of stuff to look at while you're waiting. Once you're done here, go next door to Cob's - a very small bread store with very delicious, fresh bread and bread products.

love your store & shop often at Nesvog meats. I loved the taste of the chicken pie until I bit into a carrot. I know the tell tale taste of frozen carrots and my mom made me eat them 50 odd years ago. The taste is horrible to me, please eliminated frozen veg from your pots pies

Don't buy the freezer box! It has a list of contents, however, they are not full size portions. It appears you getting a good deal, but when you see what's inside its extremely dissapointing. I have included a picture of one of the chicken breast and steak portions. Put of the paper wrap its even smaller!

bought 2 sections of keilbasa and found them about 50% fat content and tasted awful when fried or boiled. Why don"t you use ham chunks , less fat and a better quality of filler ? Then you can call it keilbasa.

If you want to step into an olde worlde meat and deli deliciousness, then turn the ignition off at the Terminal Mall (near the ferry) and drift on in. This place is THE MOST beautifully laid out with the most excellently displayed wares, deli items and THE MEAT SECTION, is laid out in what appeared technically perfect lines, piles, plans of eye catching display. You would feel that all of a sudden all the sausages would LEAP UP and start doing a two step, or ballet like dancing .... do you get it ? The soldiers from the meat dept were perfection personified !!!! I told them they were "show offs" in the discipline of display. I bought a large amount of sliced bacon - and as I'm now typing a section of it is rendering down in the pan - not an OUNCE of liquid which normally flows freely out of the supermarkets' pre-packed horrors! Look folks, if you want to come out of a store entirely happy .... drop what you're doing and rush down to visit the store - it's a lift for the spirits and perhaps a little bit pricier, but entirely magnificent in what you're taking home. Superiority every step of the way .... and, I even found PICKLED WALNUTS - my fav !!!!!!!

I was promptly served although the store was very busy. The products were expertly displayed and extremely varied. I would be surprised if you could not find what you want. Just picked up a 40.00 meat platter and the selection was deplorable. I wanted all in store meats as this store has the best but there is no way I have 15. worth of salamis. It is a lot of cheese and only two kinds no ham or roast. I spend a lot of money at Nesvogs and always find them great, I feel like I have been robbed today.
