Discovered this place when I was going to college nearby, they have the best shish taouk sandwiches in town. The meat is grilled on charbon and the sandwich is crispy on the outside but not dry at all, it has explosive taste! Abu Elias has good quality Halal meats and grill. Large variety of choices to choose from with Shish Taouk, Kafta, Grilled Chicken and many more. Butcher area is very clean and they have a good selection of frozen foods such as Lahmajeen (meat pizza) and Kibbeh. Pricing is a little higher than some other butcher/grills shops but worth it.

I gave 5 stars last time I reviewed but, unfortunatly, last weekend I orderd 1.5kg lamb and it was very bad quality meat. It was more than 70% fat, and not grilled enough to at least brown the fat to make it taste good. Extremely poor quality and I hope management take care of the issue I use to love their grilled meats and beef tartare.

This place is GREAT! I went in for the first time on Thanksgiving weekend to buy some liver for my dog. I ended up leaving with Liver, potatoes, kebbe, and a few extras. The service and atmosphere was so great that I went back to the car to get my girlfriend so she could check it out. The food tastes good though on the pricey side for what you get and you need to wait longer than at your typical shish taouk since the meat is grilled when ordered. Can't fault them for sacrificing speed in favor of freshness though. Unfortunately I had to lower the rating due to concerns on cleanliness at Abu Elias... We saw a lot of movement in the kitchen from people not wearing proper gear (i.e. hair net) and found a few hair in our food.

I ordered a meal for travel two days before. He confirmed with me and then at the same day of my travel trip he called that he was not able to get the leg lamb. It was OK with me. I was travelling at the same day. I called several shops and I was able to get a leg lamb but not grilled. I called him to ask if he would grill it He refused and he was very disrespectful!! Although I asked him to take additional fees. It was his fault!!!! And he never wanted to help( paid help). He gave me a choice instead of taking a lamb I should take meat from his store only!!!!! The food is okay. Rather a low ratio of quality/price. Plus a bad service. They force you to pay cash or debit while the cc works. The cashier is antipathetic. You have to wait outside the store for your order but the number you got is meaningless, people coming after you might be served before you. You may park your car in the parking and got stuck for half an hour because someone is blocking you behind, and this is happening all the time. If you can go elsewhere do it. These people as many other business are forgetting that customers are paying their salaries.

Came here last Monday and got two sandwiches with my girlfriend. The shish taouk was excellently grilled, and the charcoal imparted a great flavour on the chicken, as well as the bread that was grilled after the sandwich had been made. We also got a kafta neyeh sandwich and it was my personal favourite, as the quality of the meat was apparent and the garlic sauce, raw onions and pickles paired very well with it. I'm Lebanese and a huge fan of Lebanese food and this shish taouk sandwich is up there with the very best I've eaten. The pictures I took don't really do them justice.

Nethereless one of the best sandwiches in town, but my last visit over the weekend completely through me off.. As I was waiting for my sandwich I witnessed one of the kitchen employee preping the meats on the grill, drop a rack of meat on the floor, rather than throwing away what fell on the floor, he picked it up and placed it in a sandwich like it was nothing, for it to be served to a customer. I was understanding about the 18mins wait for my 3 shish taouk sandwiches but the parking lot was a nightmare, lots of honking, and rude comments from people trying to get out of parking lot. They forgot to give me my order of potatoes and when I reminded them, I was placed the piping hot aluminum container in my hand. This place is as good as it gets for Lebanese pitas; everything is cooked over a charcoal stove. I have been going here on and off for the past decade, I have never stopped loving it. Always so good. Worth the drive from Montreal to St-laurent.

1 kilo of bbq kaftah was around 750 grams on the kitchen scale. Chicken as well. Over priced for the quantity and it is never a kilo by any means. What happened to the sandwiches ? Since 2020 I went back today , and the sandwich was just onion and garlic sauce . The chicken and lamb in the centre and just the empty bread on bother sides... I saw while he had my sandwich on the grill a couple of meat pieces drop out and they did not have the courtesy to refill it and gave me an almost empty sandwich. I suppose it is off my list , sadly I won't be going back . It's not like their price are better than others , but I rather Boustan for a.decent sandwich. Another thing : I did request for all dressed at the counter . Being busy does not mean to short the customer. When meat dropped your guy just rolled the charcoal and looked at me and I assumed he would do the right thing . Sure, other places do serve proper quality but it does not mean that you call them cheap ....I wish I had taken a picture of the sandwiches and be the way I had one of each the chicken and lamb . You never charge the customer less because you are busy and maybe quality get compromised then why would you give less to the customer for paying the full price

Service was horrrible, waited 20 minutes for shish taouk that was just so-so.( Five employees standing around doing nothing and one guy working)Paid $10 for a container of hoummus which was bland(Akhavan's is SO SO much better and 1/2 the price) and another $10 for stuffed vine leaves that are still in the fridge, uneaten after 4 days because they are so bad. I used to visit it almost weekly until one day, i went to pay as usual with my bank card, and the machine powered off after i entered my PIN. We couldn't tell if the transaction went through or no... so we agreed that I pay again, and check my bank statement later to see if i paid twice to get reimbursed. I checked the statement and found out that i paid twice. So i printed the 2 lines of the 2 transactions and went back to the store few days later. The guy in charge didn't want to believe me as this is not an official statement. So i went to the nearest bank and got him a printout of my transactions as a proof and went back to him. He was surprised and told me 'you went there now!', i replied, you didn't believe it. Then he started ignoring me to the point that you feel you are begging him. I told him clearly that i live 30 min from his place, coming to his place would cost me 10$, and the amount owing was 20$... at the end, the son of the owner heard us and asked what i want... i told him what happened. He asked the cashier to give me the money so i don't make any more noise, disturbing the customers and leave.

Only con I have with this place is that once I ordered ground meat and from the inside, the meat was all brown (i.e. not fresh).
