It’s been almost 2 years since we moved from LA to Montreal and we had still not visited a Poissonnerie (coutresy Covid) until this week while we were staying in Gaspe and I am so happy we did because they are amazing…I never expected to see ready to eat fish meals and such fresh meat and so many choices of deli etc…this Poissonnerie in Sainte Anne Des Monts is the place to go and get your food for the road…I would prefer getting stuff from here anyway over going to a chain restaurant or whatever… Scroll to see the pear with shrimp paste swirled over and the beef and the fried fish fillets (I think they were fresh cod)…they were fried crisp outside and juicy soft inside..loved it! we enjoyed looking over the bay while doing lunch, not too far from the shop ????

We also tried the sushi made at the fishmonger and they were in the worst I have eaten (extremely dry and undercooked rice offered with a mini sachet of ultra salty soy sauce) and we made the mistake of leaving ourselves try a piece of hot smoked cod fillet and it was soggy .... very disappointed !! (Original) Pas la poissonnerie d'autre fois ! Fruits de mer extrêmement chère comparer d'autre poissonnerie du coin . Nous avons aussi essayé les sushi fait à la poissonnerie et ils étaient dans les pires que j'ai mangé ( riz extrêmement sec et pas assez cuit offert avec un mini sachet de sauce soya ultra salé ) et nous avons fair l'erreur de nous laissé tenter par un morceau de filet de morue fumé à chaud et il était détrempée .... très déçu !!
