This is my favourite butcher. The selection of cuts and meat varieties is fantastic, they have a great cheese section, and it is obvious the butcher cares about supporting local producers and focuses on quality. The only downside to this place is that I need to travel from Ottawa to Kingsville to get there. 10/10.

Reading the negative reviews I was astonished. No way is this the same meat as elsewhere in the county. The dry aged steaks are the tenderest i have had from any butcher in Essex County. The attention to detail in cleaning & trimming and the quality of the meat is worth the extra cost. The prep hints I have received from the friendly folks there have insured success with several dinner parties where their meat takes center stage (read - backyard tailgate parties). I will continue to travel from McGregor to Kingsville BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!!!

I have never been disappointed shopping here, It can be expensive but worth it, lot's of local and specialty items and always something new to try. Staff has always been helpful and spent time answering my questions and their loyalty reward card is a nice gift back for money I was spending anyway.

I can see that this restaurant has good reviews. I wouldn't know. We went on the Kingsville Open Streets evening. There was a lineup but they were taking names so we added our names and phone number to their list and they said they would call us in about one hour. An hour later we returned to see how the wait was progressing only to find that they had crossed off our names without calling us. They said perhaps the number didn't work... wrong answer. The phone was working fine. We checked.

For home cooks this place is a must visit. The quality of the meat is second to none. It's very expensive but I never felt the prices were out of touch with the quality of the product with the exception of the burgers and sausages because I feel those items can really only be so good. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helped me with a special order around christmas. I will be going back calling them again around the holidays.
