???????? Horrible customer service and rude female owner. We've been shopping here for years - NO MORE! Provided constructive feedback regarding pick-up option for cartons of dog food and was told in an aggressive and raised voice "not to tell her how to run her business". REALLY, I promptly turned around and left the establishment. I would not recommend this establishment due to this incident. As a consumer I have lots of options for where I can spend my money and a rude owner with attitude is not the place I wish to support.

We lived away for 2 years, bought a deep freezer and made the journey every time we were in town. Great Place for Raw Food for pets! My pup has all types of allergies. Was doing well on raw food from another shop, but Sports City blew them out of the water! They are 30% cheaper and the patty form makes it so much easier to to feed my pup than trying to glad wrap or ziplock part of the meat. The veggies are a great mix and much better than other raw food I’ve purchased that were too protein heavy. I saw a difference in my pups digestion within a few days, the healthiest she’s been!

The fresh chicken and pre-prepped fresh and frozen selection is always great. My family has purchased raw dog food at Sports City for nearly 10 years, absolutely the best, our Shepard loves it. Meat packs for events, they do great fresh turkeys for holidays as well, order early. Even as we move farther away this spring, we will continue to purchase from Vern and Margarete at Sports city. I have been paid and coerced to make this review, I want to be honest but please read to the end. My wife and I have been going to SCB for a few years now and can only say that this place with Margaret and Vern is the best Butcher shop we have ever been too. Whether it is the front display meat that we buy or their high quality pet food, we have never been dissapointed in the quality. We used to go to other shops and could never find consistency or the high quality that SCB delivers every time. I'll never go anywhere else (it takes us 25 mins to drive to them and it's worth every mile). Now you must be thinking what. Does he mean he got [paid and coerced to make this review??? Good question!! I have been paid in excellent customer service and coerced by high quality meat and knowledge. We have recommended SCB to dozens and dozens of people and will continue to through our charity Rescue a Boxer for pet food and our own personal use for our BBQing and normal cooking needs (although I mostly BBQ :D) Try them out and you will not be dissapointed. They are simply the best.

Wonderful neighbourhood Butcher. Great selection at the counter and frozen section. Very reasonably priced. Vern and Margaret are friendly and helpful with outstanding customer service! They make the best fresh ham and cheese sandwiches!! The fresh free range turkeys they bring in are a must for Christmas. Better price than many other places. I also purchase their Champion raw dog food for my 11 year old Labrador Retriever. He loves it and is absolutely thriving on it. The dog food is home made in house with no additives or filers. I highly recommend Sports City Butcher. I have never been disappointed.

I have bought different meats and sides for many occasions from here over the last few years. I wanted to do some good eats for super bowl so I called and asked about a brisket. They were very friendly and helpful on the phone and reserved a piece for me. When I went in they gave me a cut that was the perfect size. It worked out great! I bought sausages too that were really good. They always give advice on how to cook things if you need it. I get bones for my dog from there as well. These guys are great! They make you feel good about shopping local and supporting a small business.

Each time my wife and I move, we seek out a good butcher, fish store, veggie store, etc. in the area. When we moved to Surrey, we checked out a few butchers, and then discovered that the best one was the closest to us. The quality of the meat is incredible. The prices are surpisingly low, given the excellent quality. Margaret and Vern operate the store as a family concern, and I know from chatting to them that they work very long hours, six days a week. With the costs of eating out increasingly expensive, my wife and I prepare mostly home cooked meals. Starting with good ingredients improves our chances of producing something tasty and satisfying. Sports City Butcher's meats certainly give us that great start. I recommend that you check them out. I was surprised to find a couple of very negative reviews were posted. Go in there, talk to Margaret and Vern, talk to other customers in the store at the time. I think you'll be glad you found them. Just my five cents worth (inflation - Toonie's worth?) Norm

I don't go here very often as I am not a big meat eater but whenever I go here it is always excellent service and advice on different cuts of meat for various cooking options. Loved it that it was 1 customer inside the store at one time and masks required. That is so caring and responsible store ownership. What an amazing place to shop at. Was referred for dog food for my 7 yr old pitbull with skin allergies. She no longer has any skin issues or irratations and is excited to eat again!! This place is awesome! they have great steaks and meat cuts also my dog loves there raw pattys. the owner spent over 25 mins on the phone with me after my dog was found to have severe food allergies. she took her time to explain her experiences with other dogs with allergies. My husband and I have a 2.5 year old Mastiff mix who was having allergies to kibble dog food. We tried different brands and price points and nothing helped. We made the switch to raw dog food and couldn't be happier. Remington is a different dog! All her allergies cleared up, her coat and teeth are much healthier, and she drinks less water (such a bonus cause she is a messy drinker!). I can't say enough GREAT things about Sports City Butcher! The quality and selection are excellent and when you're stuck trying to figure out what to make for dinner- -count on Vern or Margaret to offer you lots of ideas. Excellent service been going there for 4 years the raw food for pets is very well priced and all medication free beef my shepherd has done amazing on it. Very friendly staff as well won't go anywhere else. All the raw food is human grade. Cost me 25$ a week to feed my 125lbs German shepherd.

Nice people and great dog food! Our dogs have all been raised on this dog food. She is 14 and runs around like she's 2. We have a 10 month old Presa named Max who is also on this dog food - he has pearly white teeth , no dandruff and his coat is super silky! No more commercial grade food! It leads to many health issues.

I go out of my way to come here because I love this shop! I came here initially for the raw food diet for my Rottweilers, which they love and are doing exceptionally well on. Heaven forbid that I'm late with feeding times! I've started buying more items for myself as well and am equally impressed. More than once I questioned the amount charged as I thought I was being undercharged. That's right, UNDER-charged (I wasn't) but how often does that happen when shopping?? I much prefer shopping at a "Mom&Pop" shop than big chain companies whenever I can and this place is a prime example of a little shop with a big heart. Every single person I've dealt with/spoken to have been wonderful. Truly a Neighborhood Shop that I continually recommend to friends, family, & neighbors. I'm giving them an A+ across the board. Awesome customer service, Super-friendly, Excellent people, Quality product, Good prices. Excellent value for my time and money spent. A quick note on the current mandatory mask rule: Masks are a choice. You can choose to wear one or not. You can choose to shop here or not. You can choose respect and kindness or not. You can choose to work with each other or against each other. Those are all choices left up to each of us.
