Pre-programmed to shop for everything in a "grocery store"? STOP NOW and pay a visit to a local family run business open to the public. Not only will you find friendly people that are happy to see you, but top notch products you won't be getting at Safeway etc. Ennis Meats has the most tender properly aged steaks, the best bacon (If you like that sort of thing) I've ever had and tons of other great stuff. I feel like I've been a fool for way too long, paying high prices for the lousy quality of "GS" meat. So glad to have finally found my neighbourhood butcher, I am now a regular patron at Ennis on 40th, very satisfied - DANMAC(HOMES)

I bought 10 rib-eye steaks here. I have never seen so much meat thrown out. No one could eat it it was so tough. Impossible to chew. What an incredible waste of money! I went back two days later to let them know, their response was unbelievable! As if I didn't know what I was talking about. He promised to have the butcher call me..... didn't happen. On the way home I went to Ralphs / Meridian Meat and bought their rib-eye. Absolutely delicious, juicy, tender and full of flavour. I will never go back to Ennis Farm Meats.

This place is fantastic. We've been buying all our meat from here for over a year and have rarely had anything we didn't like (their pepperoni isn't spicy enough -- that's about it!) The folks are always very friendly and willing to fix you up with anything. There's a good collection of made-in-house sausages and the ones we've had are very good though a bit salty. The meat prices are reasonable and typically beat supermarket prices despite Ennis Farms' typically higher quality. And they do special occasion orders -- we've bought three turkeys, a giant ham, and a 55-pound pig complete with spit and everything was amazing.

If you think you know your butcher you might want to know Mark, his wife and staff. they are exceptional. Beef and lamb grown on site. Amazing sausage and the prices are perfect. Need your game cut? Call ahead and Ennis meats will sort you out. A must see and purchase from when in Brookswood!

I started buying my Easter and Thanksgiving hams at Ennis Farms Meats about three years ago. The quality and flavour of their hams is outstanding. I had a small issue with a ham last year and I panicked - I called them the second they opened Saturday morning - the morning of the day I had 20 people coming for dinner! I explained the issue and they said to come in right away - I did and the issue was rectified as soon as I walked in the door - no questions! They saved me! Highly recommend!

I concider this to be the best butcher in the lower mainland. Smoking there own goods. Lots of variety of meats. Fresh and well cut to give you a prime product. Best bacon I have found since the Scotch butcher was on Grandville st. Meat packs are varied and fabulous bargain for prime products.

We use Ennis for custom butchering, it's the fourth butcher we've used and by far the best. The bacon is outstanding. I find the staff friendly and helpful and really enjoy the quality of service and custom.

My husband also hunts and brought a bear to Ennis, we were told by other people to be cautious... when we picked up, we were missing the ham pieces from the bear and the guy at the counter said there wasn't any. Then the lady that took our order said that it wasn't ready yet. This place has a reputation for keeping game and whether they sell it in their front store or keep for themselves, I don't know.. but we paid a significant amount to have our game cut up and didn't get what we wanted.

Do not bring your wild game to get butchered here. They do not listen to how you want it cut and they do not know how to properly wrap the meat in butcher paper. One month being in the freezer my meat is already covered in ice.

Lady at the front was abrupt and did not listen to how I wanted my moose cut. Butcher refused to way in my moose when I brought it in with the excuse of being too busy. Nevertheless she did right down on the order that I wanted short ribs. When I went to pickup my moose there was no ribs. When I inquired about the ribs I was first told they were slimy and got thrown out. Then the story changed to the ribs got cut into minced meat. I brought the moose in near perfect condition and the ribs were not slimy. The butcher accused me of wiping down the ribs with vinegar which I never did. The ribs were almost 3 feet long by 2 and a half feet wide and almost and inch thick. Considering that they sell farmed game in minced meat for 10$ a lb they made a pretty penny off my ribs. When I questioned the butcher he started yelling at me and told me to get out of his store. DO NOT GO TO ENNIS MEATS!

Took our moose to these guys October 2020. Will never go back. Don't take your hard earned game meat here. Terrible 'cutting and wrapping' - not to be confused with butchering. We're 'butchering' each package ourselves as we open them. Thumbs down...

Be careful where you take your game. This year we had two deer processed at different stores. One 90lbs at a place in Sumas, and one 77lbs at Ennis. Both were ordered exactly the same way. The other store gave exactly what we asked for. Ennis charged $60.00 more for a smaller deer, AND, decided to alter my requests with my deer without asking, without contact, and without doing anything to adjust my invoice. The owner responded with "different place, different price". I paid for "custom" game processing. I wish I knew what "Ennis custom" meant. Last game any of our group will take here.

Very friendly and always great quality meats, my boyfriend and I get all of our meat from here. All of the maranades are good our favorite is the coconut curry. We also like the chicken feta&spinach smokies. The bacon is really good quality. They also have bones and treats for dogs, we get our rottweiler treats every time we go in.
