First visit in a long time last month to buy 3 strip loin steaks, and I have never been so disappointed. The meat was very dry and tough (and no, I didn't overcook it). Have the vendors changed, or did I just stumble upon the wrong piece? I took the trouble to contact the butcher after this experience and no follow-up ... the quality is generally very good, but for $ 75 I would have expected better taste (and service!) Than Maxi ... The overall experience was weak. Although their products are good and local I find them overpriced. The decor is beautiful, but the service is bizarre….not to friendly, not thoughtful, not there to enhance your buying experience but more to do theirs jobs. My English is perfect but when I spoke to her in French she didn’t reply anything.(maybe she doesn’t speak it…it happens) Unfortunately I won’t be returning there anytime soon, but I will encourage anyone to try them and tell me about their experience. There are many great Bouchers in town, this experience was not the greatest for me to come back.

Be careful of prices quoted by phone!! The gentleman on the phone quoted 15$kilo for organic Turkey and when I went to pick it up the girl charged 19$kilo and said "if you don't like it you don't have to buy it" But I was stuck last minute to buy it ... it's the last time we will shop there!!

During the first few months of the pandemic, they were delivering, and we benefited from that A LOT. It made for some wonderful experiences cooking at home, something I hadn’t had much experience with as of late (being a server for 15 years)... Great place and super friendly. I admittedly do not know much about the different cuts of meat, and was helped by their staff who obviously knew their stuff with no judgement. I cannot say enough how great those who helped me were. They had a superb selection of sausages that I wish I’d taken advantage of, but this day was for the steak. I did a simple salt and pepper crust for the meat we got and it was delicious. No sauce needed for this superb cut. The shop also had good things going for them in the case of following distancing guidelines. Only 3 people in the shop allowed, with chairs to keep customer distance from the displays, as well as milk crates to cart around and help keep yourself to yourself.

This is such an amazing place to shop. The white ham is very different from your standard sliced deli meat. It is soft, tender and very flavourful. There is also a very nice assortment of cheeses. The sandwiches look amazing and we look forward to trying them out. There is a House Blend granola, I must admit it is a little bit expensive, yet so worth the money. I am sure that there is so much more to explore you just can not possibly do it all in just one visit.
