From beef brisket and t-bones to cowboy steak and beef bones, from 'exotic' meats (elk, bison) to ground beef and chicken, Frigs has been our go to butcher for years. Their prices are reasonable, their staff knowledgeable and their products fresh and delicious. I've found them well worth the drive from the Winnipeg core. MAKE SURE you double check the hours of operation - this is a family business (not a 24 hour wal-mart), so their hours are more traditional than we've come to expect. But in my opinion that's minor for high quality meat products (and a large swath of locally made food products) at competitive prices.

On the recommendation of my chiropractor at Maples Chiropractic (Highly recommend this clinic!) I visited Frigs for the first time today to look for some healthier meat options. Their meats have no growth hormones, antibiotics or animal byproducts. Their homemade processed products (sausages, smokies, kielbasa) do not contain wheat, eggs, milk, soy, MSG or liquid smoke. I was given a personal tour with explanations of where everything is sourced. They carry a variety of products from local producers including grains, pastas and cheeses. I was pleased to find out that some of the meat even comes from the owner's own farm! I explained my need to increase my iron intake on a very tiny budget and was given great advice and a coupon for my next visit. The woman who helped me was warm and friendly and very easy to talk to. I will definitely be back!!

I've been buying meat and eggs weekly at Frigs for close to two years and have nothing but great things to say about this place. In addition to high quality, antibiotic-free and growth hormone-free meats and farm eggs, they also sell a great selection of organic, local, and gluten-free goods. Many of their fresh sausages are gluten-, egg-, soy-, dairy- and nitrate-free. Their kubi dogs are amazing! Lately they've been stocking some 100% grass-fed beef, as well. The butchers are knowledgeable and friendly. The one time I returned something, it was no questions asked. I know a lot of people who go out of their way to buy from Frigs and hope this place is around for a long, long time!

The bacon here is amazing; they smoke it themselves! I usually buy the ends to chop up and put in meals. The kids LOVE IT. They have a very large selection of all kinds of different meats. Prices are not bad either, especially for the quality.

First time going to Frigs was this afternoon. Tired of buying meat from Costco and Save on Foods and really wanted to try out a local place with Manitoba beef. After doing some research and reading reviews, Frigs sounded like a great place. I bought: 10- 1" thick New York strip steaks 6 lbs of stewing beef 5 lbs ground beef 8 huge beef smokies for a total of $180. Very happy with the price and the quality of meat is amazing. I barbecued up some those steaks this evening and the taste and quality is 10 times better than anything I have bought from any box chain grocery store. The staff at Frigs were very nice and courteous as well. Will definitely be returning.

We asked the butcher if they could slice some beef nearly paper thin for a beef fondue, showing them pictures of exactly what we were looking for. They explained that it wouldn't be a problem, that the beef would be sliced from frozen on the machine, and that we would need to let them know in advance. We placed the order in anticipation of our fondue dinner and were surprised and disappointed to find the meat was cut very inconsistently. The individual slices varied in thickness from paper thin to half an inch, making it unusable for a fondue. As well, there were string fragments mixed into the meat that we had to carefully pick out before we could use it for anything. We felt that the work was done carelessly and unprofessionally.

Local, natural, ethically raised Manitoba meats! Also found out lots of the meats comes from their family farm!!! Meat tastes like it’s truly suppose to, no garbage, no labels (real food is real food, no labels needed right!) Very affordable pricing. Also makes fresh and smoked sausages every week, which are gluten free!! Carry many other products (almost a one stop shop) if your someone looking for gluten/dairy free products this is the place to go! Friendly staff, very accommodating, will do everything possible to help out or direct you to what you need (trust me, they know there stuff)! Best butcher shop in town!

We had our deer processed by Frigs for the first time this season. I wish we had come here sooner the fine grind kubasa and pepperoni sticks are amazing. We've used two other very well know shops over the years and Frigs is by far the best. Worth every penny, and a great name.

The quality of their meats are second to none. They even have 100% grassfed beef. The price is relatively cheap compared to other stores because they grow half if not most of their own livestock and poultry. And the staff are really friendly especially grandma and the tall Butcher. Forgot his name. And it's local. Would highly recommend this place for your daily meat and poultry consumption, and they also sell spices and other miscellaneous ingredients for cooking. ????????
