If you are cottaging in the area of Kennisis, Redstone or Eagle Lake it's one of the closest convenience stores. Modest selection of fresh produce and dry goods, typical general store wares. Can get busy on Fridays and Saturdays during cottage season. Great butter tarts! Good place for quick runs. Staff were pleasant. If you needed a comprehensive grocery run, you're better to make the trip to Haliburton.

The perfect cottage country store. Friendly staff , great selection of groceries, produce, LCBO and butchers all in one location chad is one of the best butchers we have ever encountered and is always willing to do custom orders. If your entertaining at the cottage and want to impress your guests ( provided they aren’t vegans) talk to chad and he will recommend the perfect meats and even recommend the best way to cook. Angie’s cookies are to die for Jenn and Chris are always a great help willing to go the extra mile Make sure you make that turn off 118 and county road 7 ( Kennisis Lake road) and pop in before you get to the cottage. Let’s keep supporting local businesses like this one!!!!

This little gem tucked away in West Guilford is by far away the BEST butcher store the Haliburton area and one of the best in Ontario. The owners, Bill, Edna and their son, Chad, bend over backwards to meet the needs of their customers. Their meats are fresh and delicious. And their sausages are absolutely mouth watering. You are made to feel like you are their sole special customer. And there is also wonderful fresh produce as well as an LCBO outlet AND post office. All your needs are met in one great place!!!

Love this place! Everyone is so friendly. I’ll stop here every time I’m heading to my moms house. They have corner store feel with fresh produce, baked goods, liquor, lottery etc. Pretty much anything you need they have. Saves you from having to drive into Haliburton or Minden.

A REAL, old-fashioned general store. Delicious meats, fish, cheese and baked goods- so much so that I ask family members to bring such goods to Ottawa when they come to visit when I'm not in the Haliburton area! Good selection of other merchandise and friendly service. A 'must' stop if you're ever in that neck of the woods!

Att: Chad and Lahna; Hello my new northern friends. I wanted to drop you a line to express my gratitude for helping me out with butchering my bear that I brought to you guys last week. We are back in our little town of Harrow, just south of Windsor and we just finished our first bbq’d bear sausage that you folks prepared for us. It is absolutely fantastic. I am so pleased that I was able to deal with you guys at the local level instead of having to keep my bear cold and bring it back here to be butchered, as we have limited off grid means up that way. Your price is very reasonable and the quality of the sausage you produced is excellent. Normally we have pepperettes made up, so this was a welcome change. We are new to the Haliburton area as we purchased a cottage off of Harburn road just recently. We plan to make many trips to our cottage throughout the year, and I now know where to get our wild game prepared as well as the meat counter to choose our other meats for our time up north. You guys look like you have an amazing selection, so I can’t wait to try some of your specialties as well. In closing, thank you for the prompt service and welcoming attitude. I hope we didn’t make too much of a mess of the bear as it was our first time gutting and skinning one. The black flies were relentless so we really raced through it as well. Ive been shopping at this hometown store for many years I love this country store and its simplicity, from the bakery goods to the butcher meats, along with liquor and beer all in a One Stop shop. The staff are always pleasant and one fellow offered to help carry my purchased cases of beer to the car. It reminded me of the good ole days where customer service was important. So nice to see this country store provide it all. I also enjoy reading the signs outside posting community events which I attend as a result. Thanks Bill and staff

Without stores like this small towns wouldn’t be the same. This store supports many local events and initiatives and its incredible to see how much they do. It’s sandwiched between pine and grass lakes and sits conveniently on Kennisis lake road. The store serves fresh food and has a great deli counter. Friendly service with a smile and the owner is still there working hard to meet your needs. What’s not to love about the Guilford store, don’t forget your butter tart on the way out the door.

I dunno where the .3 went (4.7 rating rather than 5.0), but the lovely staff, the butcher and the pretty excellent booze/beer selection combine to make this a business that definitely deserves your support. Oh wait, they don't stock Kronenbourg 1664 - so that's where the .3 went!

Wolf in the Wilds Survival

Some of the best butchered meats in the world, and their bacon is completely awesome. It is a one stop shop for all of my needs when heading to the cottage and the staff and owners are some of the best people this world has ever seen. I never go to my cottage without stopping here first.

Bill is a good man. His butcher skills are dynamite and the staff are always friendly. We always buy about 20 bags of ice every labour day and they always ready for us. No complaints whatsoever.

This local "Shopping Centre"/ General Store has been in the family serving West Guilford and surrounding cottage lakes for decades! Besides a grocery store they have an in-house Butcher, that people come from a distance for special and custom cuts of all kinds of meats including lamb and sausages. Now they also are a licensed LCBO and Beer Store outlet, saving some trips into Haliburton. And they are the local Post Office as well. Drop by on your way to the "Road Trip Destination"!

A great small grocery store with an LcBO, walk in fridge for beer and the best butcher in the kawarthas. GREAT homemade sausages. Find out when they make bread and make sure to grab some fresh. Good locally made butter tarts. Not the greatest selection of produce or dry goods, but the butcher/lcbo combo makes up for it.
