*Edit- Halenda's really worked to make this one right! I sent an email to let them know about my experience, as outlined below. They emailed back within 24 hours, offering a full refund on the cut I recieved. When I arrived later in the evening, the manager was waiting for me to process the refund, and she had already prepared a fresh cut of brisket on the house for me.
Level of service is bar none! Thanks for making this one right.

Super disappointed- I may have to find a new butcher shop!
I've been to Halenda's in the past, but usually go to the Whitby location. Last week, I decided to go to the Oshawa/Courtice location instead as it was on my way home. I went in looking for a cut of brisket that could serve 4 people (it's one of my husband's favourite meals, and I wanted to surprise him with it today while we had company over for dinner).
I prepped the meat this morning and left it to cook in the crock pot today. When I went to serve dinner, I learned that the meat was tough and fatty, and marbled with gristle! This is not at all what I was expecting as the dish is usually tender and melts in your mouth.
I wrestled with the meat and cut away some of the worst fatty parts of the cut to see what I could salvage. For $32 worth of meat from the butcher shop, I couldn't even get enough edible meat from the cut to serve 2 people. Horrible dinner party fail.
This is not the level of quality I've come to expect from Halenda's.
