In this store, there are a lot of very good deals and the prices of the items are pretty good. They have a good meat selection and good seafood. The staff that work there are all very nice all the time and make my shopping trip excellent. The eggs are just exquisite and are perfectly packaged. They have a fine selection of many everyday condiments including ketchup, mustard and relish. As well as many flavours of pickles from dill to sweet. They also sell a wide variety of toilet paper. This is just my opinion but trust me in saying that this place is superb. ????

I generally have a good experience when I go there. I shop early in the morning when it's less traffic. Prices are very good and staff are friendly. There is always someone to ask if there no pricing on the item . my only issue is that the products may not always be there when the sale is on, but sometime that can't be helped, that would be the suppliers fault.all being said, I will continue to shop there.

Great deals and mostly great stuff. I've been coming here since I was a kid never stole anything in my life well one day I was in there with a basket cart so I could walk home with my groceries without to much difficulty. And the manager told me to empty my cart after going through check out, went through everything in my cart saw that I had paid, yet still made me wait for the police. When they found nothing was stolen they let me finally walk home and that is why it only gets a 3 star, don't judge book by its cover. Ps the manager still works there and has done this to me over 10 times.

Of all the places I have gone shopping, I feel the least safe here due to their minimalist attitude toward covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.

Very poor communication between management and cashiers....I am a senior that waited in line 25MAR20 to enter the store at 7:05 am. Upon cashing out on cashier #5 at 7:20 am, the cashier would not sell me any more than 4 small containers of raspberries, although there was no limit printed on the price card for the raspberries. After the cashier taking away 8 packages, I stopped the manager to suggest he print the limit numbers where the raspberries were located. He replied by saying there was NO LIMIT on raspberries. The cashier was obviously making up her own rules, or did not pay attention at the staff meeting. You would think that with just 2 cashiers open, that the manager would have their 2 best, most experienced cashiers operating the cash registers, in place of the lethagic student that I dealt with.....

I try to avoid shopping here. Too crowded in the foyer during Covid. Don't shop after 11am, crazy busy. Produce Department is NOT fresh fruits and vegetables. I understand that they might be short staffed, but you really should not let the quality of your produce appear so sad (soft cucumbers and rotten plums). ????

Prices are very good and staff are usually helpful. Sometimes their produce is a little off. Aisles are very narrow which can make it hard to navigate, especially when it's crowded. Bags are a nickel each and they won't help you bag, so bringing reusable bags and an extra set of hands along is recommended.

Often the most affordable in this town. The produce varies in quality, sometimes unblemished sometimes plague land. It's more than a little disturbing getting fruits right beside a box of frozen and butchered body parts. More fruits & less frozen animal carcases(zero) would be nice. Some of the fruit prices are as or more affordable than some grain! (how it should be) #MeatIsMurder

I found what I needed and went themself check out becthere are less tellers now that the store added the self check out feature. Glad someone was there to help because the items like fruit and veggies that don't have a bar code, it's somewhat confusing to know which item you have from the list of options. Other than that, everything was fine and the lady manning the self checkout was very helpful and pleasant and very busy. She could have used a second person in there helping because people had to wait for her assistance. That's the major drawback.

Super disappointed in my last visit! Bought only a few products but wasn’t happy with the quality, especially disappointed when I made bacon the next day (expires July 7) only to find the taste so bad and rotten so clearly it had gone bad. The floor was dirty and the cashiers where no help. They store layout is also a puzzle. I will not be returning for the foreseeable future

I went there for getting hired as a full time employee and i gave them my documents for filling in the hiring package. They showed me 4 hr orientation video and told me to come next week to put me into the system. It was a month already and i didnt got into the system until i found out that they lost my hiring package. I had to do all the process again and at last they tell me they can only give part time position. Here they means the manager Ron who is very rude and has a bad attitude of ignoring and not paying any attention to people.

Will never go back although it is a cheap place to shop. They were out of stock of many of the items I needed and didn't have others. There were mice running around in the fresh produce section eating pieces of produce off of the floor. I took the photos and went looking for someone to tell. I didn't want to make a big deal as there were a lot of shoppers. I found a stock person speaking with a manager, when I showed the photos the manager he didn't seem to be worried, but the stock person sure did. I did call public health to report the incident.

Started by taking extreme caution in regards to Civid 19. They "used" to wipe the belts down and debit machines etc. Now they are letting to many people in at once. There are customers with their cart inches from yours and getting very close. If you are going to open I think you need to police the store more.....just saying

When the cashier on #6 was bored with her position, I was appalled. 5:30pm is a busy time as folks stop off on their way home from work. I watched her read her magazine with the customer before me, and she did the same with me. If management finds this acceptable that is very sad. This cashier is not really interested in serving Food Basic customers & needs a different type of employment. I've never seen this kind of approach before in any Lindsay shops! Very unacceptable indeed!!!

Went to Food Basics in Lindsay today (March 19, 2021) for my weekly grocery shop, store was very crowded as the female employee working at the entrance was letting in too many customers at a time. There were very few grocery carts in buggy corales outside as well as in the lobby. Some shelves were bare and stock to be placed on shelves were scattered throughout the store. Very dissatisfied with my visit. This is the 3rd week in a row that I've had this experience with the Food Basics store in Lindsay.
