My wife bought $40 of what she thought was lean ground beef this week, however, me being a former meat cutter myself, I figure it's best regular ground beef at an over inflated price. I think I'll have it tested. I can't imagine this meeting standards.

They have a newly installed traffic light on the exterior for people to know when it's ok to enter. I always feel safe and protected at this location!

Shop here every week. Great products and staff. I know it's not always possible, but I wish they stocked fresh lamb. They also tend to not have ground pork often, which is a staple in my kitchen. Nothing really to complain about though - their selection is based on availability. Keep up the great work!

What's a vegetarian doing in a store that sells meat ? Shopping for my family of course! I was very impressed. We bought a few sausages and burgers for my husband to try. The customer service was really outstanding and the place is spotless. I did get a frozen vegetable lasagna and it was pretty good. Happy to have had a good experience. I'm sure we'll be regulars!

Don't be fooled by their big media marketing campaign this place is highly over rated. I see alot of phony 5 star reviews. I couldn't even chew the cabbage on the cabbage rolls it was so tough and they were dry and hardly any tomato sauce. I also purchased some mafia burgers, had them in the fridge only 2 days. When I opened the package they had a white runny mold? and they smelled fishy. Also, on two separate occasions I was charged for and extra item that I didn't even purchase.

Purchased 2 T-Bone steaks at Halendas Bowmanville store. Really disappointing. Spent $45.00 on 2 steaks cooked them medium rare. Let them sit for 10 minutes but both steaks were still tough. I think their Beef is only AA grade and not AAA. If I would have known AA grade I would not have purchased. I will stick to their chicken and sausage products.

Halendas has been absolutely incredible during COVID and will continue to get our business long after. Wonderful selection of products - staples are available here including milk and bread. Great seasonings and of course beautiful selection of meats. Highly recommend any of the sausages and flavoured chicken. Pork is perfect for pulled pork and their sirloin beef always makes a perfect roast. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Super disappointed with the cut of meat, along with how dry it was. The cut was so uneven, making for an uneven cooking process. I had the exact same steak from Kyles a few days ago, the same cost, but way more flavourful and juicy and beautifully butchered. I'd take less variety over quality any day.

I have been going to the Bowmanville helendas since my husband and I moved here since they opened. I have never been to a business where they recognize you and really get to know you. The young staff are always so polite and well mannered. I've had the door held for me many times while pregnant and then while shopping with my baby. They are patient while I am choosing my cuts and also while I shop around. I never feel rushed. It's always very professional with such young staff and clean. Even during covid they always had stock. Who ever is in charge of the hiring does a great job at choosing respectful staff that always smile and make great meat recommendations.
