This place is home away from home. This is the place I go when I need quality meat that does not exceed my college budget. Whether it be a beautiful rack of Louisiana or Baby Back pork ribs, beef short ribs, free range chicken, addictive smoked salmon, or a nice lean and very tender sirloin tip (I like it better without the fat cap), they are always so happy to accommodate. I found Real Deal Meats when I was very sickly, skinny, weak and looking for a butcher to visit primarily over big box grocers. Having a butcher that cares about the food I eat as much as I do has helped me heal. I would feed this food to my children, elders, and community with absolute pride, confidence, pride, and a feeling of security. Thank you for all that you do for us.

I have purchased freezer packs from them twice now, as well as a few random meat selections. I've always had exceptional service, and they explain their cuts very well to me, when I am inquiring about certain things (like bacon types). They can get things in fairly quickly when I request them as well. The best things about this butcher though, is that it is locally owned, and family run, on top of the wonderful services they provide, and VERY well priced. I hope you give their meat a chance! I'm not sure how long ago I wrote my previous review, but I always like to update my reviews after some time. I've now purchased many custom freezer packs from them, and they continue to stand the test of time as a business. Always a prompt response from someone, and always great service when you go to pick up. They continue to be a busy shop (which is a good thing), and I'm happy they continue to prosper.

We had a chicken breast that was very obviously spoiled 3-days after purchase. Called to voice my concern with the product and was met with excuses and a total lack of accountability. I was told that I must have left it out in the heat for that to have happened. We put our meat directly into the fridge or freezer when we get home. I am not looking to castigate anyone for the issue, it happens, but I would appreciate some accountability as product quality should be of utmost concern for a meat shop. I am less likely to give you my business now that I have had this negative experience.

(2016) 2 years later I am still loving this place. I have never been the slightest bit unhappy with anything I have purchased here. Always the highest quality and DELICIOUS! I love that they take orders. I have called in many times with requests for cuts or a specific item and they are always with excellent customer service have it ready with 1 day. Truly the best. You can get fresh meats at Real Deal Meats. Although a bit pricy, the quality of the meats are high. I usually take the tenderloin for BBQ. When cooked, it is very tendered and delicious. You don't need to marinate; just add a bit salt, pepper, and olive oil.

We absolutely loved this place. Customer service was awesome.The Young man Darcy was always welcoming. We def love their steak. We would call in and request for our orders and the guys have been very accommodating. We were spreading good words about this business, our friends loves the steaks obviously! Lol. We decided to be a patron for a while now especially for our kids’ favourite chicken skin (he would just take the skin off of any fried chicken ????‍♀️) but for some reason the price had gone up raising to the roof, we didn’t mind that the price was initially twice as much as the other shop, people here are nice, however during our last visit, it was priced 200% more than the competitor who sells all clean skin no fat. I am just sad price is just no longer practical for us. Perhaps on just rare occasions. -Hello, Thank you for your response and for your explanation.to be fair I did asked the young fellow yesterday night as to what the reason might be in regards to the price and was not provided by this information, it is good to know you actually accommodate my chicken order by compromising the other parts, that would be a lot of parts for my 10lbs order and i will understand if for this reason (non sellable parts and labour as per what you stated) you will keep the high price as it is. When we chatted prior to one of the staff we were even told these skins were grinded for pet feeds and last time i called this was december we were advised to call every Tuesday before the staff starts to grind it at night. I def did call and confirmed the price i didn't realize right away that it was correct since regular butcher shop sells it $1 per pound ( no fat included) and here from $2 (was ok) and now $3/ pound with fat. Great little butcher. Meat is usually very good. They will cut anything how you like and they have good suggestions on how to cut meat depending on your use. The meats are not usually much more, if any more, expensive than chain grocery stores. Their house made bacon is wonderful.

You know, when you are from Quebec, there is one thing that you miss a lot when living in Alberta. It's called Chinese Fondue Meat ("Fondue chinoise" in French). Well, THEY KNOW what that is and you don't feel like an alien asking for some weird regional meal. They will gladly cut the meat for you as long as you ask a day or two ahead of time. Finally, their meat is the best. Not just the Chinese fondue meat. Everything I bought from them was delicious. Try them out! Just do it! You wont regret it!

Worst brisket ever! Fat cap not removed. If your going to call something smoked you should be make to taste it, nothing of any smoke smell or taste. The only flavor that was on it was whatever seasoning they used on it. All you end up with is a rotten gut and a gross aftertaste. If you want brisket do it yourself.

I continually price check whatever I buy and the difference for locally sourced grass fed beef between Real Deal and Save on is about 4 dollars/lb. Outrageous Save On and thank you Real Deal. I have been there 5 times and 3 times something was wrong with my order. Their prime rib eye,tenderloin,chicken breast and pork chop are very good quality at good price. We discovered beef bacon! Someone needs to learn how to wrap up a steak in paper ! Again, on October 16 my bill was incorrect.We have been there more than a dozen times and pretty much half of the time something is wrong. Employees turnover is unbelievable and the service is rushed everytime. I was already out of the store when I noticed I have been overcharged. With a lineup at the door we left. We have consideration for others and respect this business but instead of having my wife waiting in the car should both of us go in and monitor every step of the transaction? It was only few dollars but it's not right to pay for their consistent mistakes. Not sure we will be back. They need a leader to run the front of the store. Previously gave 4 stars now down to 3.

I like that it's free range, offers organic, you feel better about the meat you consume. The price is incomparable, a box of grade A quality meat for 60?! I use to buy organic meat from superstore and for about 4 items it was equivalent to 60+. The best. Never had an issue with cut, quality or freshness. (And, my gosh, the weekend hot and ready specials are amazing!) We buy all our raw meat and eggs here every week, as well as dog food, treats and bones. We’ve also tried the prepared foods (meat pies, pepperoni, wings, etc). I’ve been encouraged by staff to try things outside of my comfort zone, like yak, and they’ve never steered me wrong in recommendations or cooking directions — delish! Real Deal is outstanding in all respects, and the price for all of it is amazing. I am not kidding when I say I am unable to buy meat and eggs from the grocery store anymore. They simply do not compare taste-wise, and I don’t trust the freshness/quality of the “big” store items the way I trust the products and the staff at Real Deal. (My only concern is they are so packed with customers all the time, I worry they will have to find a bigger location and move away someday — I can’t even express how lucky I feel to have this store right in my neighborhood. Please stay here forever!!)

What a superb place to buy meat!! The staff are awesome and knowledgable too. If they can't answer your questions, they go into the back and get a butcher to come out and talk with you. Try the Kesler chops—smoked pork chops that taste like the best ham you ever had. Although these chops are "ready to eat" when you buy them, we like to put them into a baking dish smothered with a mixture of sauerkraut, stewed tomatoes and some raisins (or apples) and bake them for about 2 hours. MAN, this is good!!

These people are so awesome! We've been buying 95% of our meat at Real Deal for at least 5 years now. (The only meat we don't buy from them is meat they don't carry regularly, like beef liver or pork cutlets.) The first time we fried up some ground beef from Real Deal—about 5 years ago—, my wife and I both noticed the difference is both aroma and appearance. The ground beef we had been buying from the "big grocers" always produced a lot of water in the pan, and had a less-than-fresh smell. We are 100% pleased with Real Deal.

I love this place. They have pre cooked smoked meats every Saturday, but you will have to order the quantity that you want at least 24 hours in advance. That said Saturday's are always busy with the pick ups of the hot smoked meats.

I have been a customer of this business for more than two years now. Customer service is really great and staff always go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. They have a wide range of meat including beef, pork, chicken, lamb and turkeys. My favorite is lamb and beef steaks. There's also fish and sausage which tastes great. They have other items such as beef tongue and lamb kidney and liver if you are into those things.

My go to butcher shop for all my BBQing needs for many years now. The staff is awesome, and thr steaks are always great; I personally prefer the rib steak and it's always been cut to my liking. Great thickness on the maui side ribs too. My kids love the homicide beef pepperoni. The Saturday smoked meats are always great, I recommend trying smoked brisket day. I highly recommend them for any meat needs. They also have smoked bones for dogs. Keep up the great quality and customer service!

I am able to walk with a walker only so Anne went back with the Rib steaks and you replaced them with 2 others. The lady at the counter was going to replace them with steaks from the showcase but the owner instead said no and went to the back and cut 2. These steaks are about 1/4 inch thick or less. We were originally told the $199 pack were steaks from the showcase left over from Saturday. Some of the steaks were very good but some were of poor quality. Live and learn

I went here today with high expectations and all of them were met! This place has a great variety of meats and cuts, along with an affordable price range. Their meat is grass fed and local, which is worth the 30 minute drive for me. I will definitely be going back!

I tried this business based on the positive reviews along with the professional prompt replies I received. I used their wild game service and had my game done up into Jalapeno and Cheddar smokies. Just picked up my wild game order, having my WT Deer meat made into some ground and pressed jerky and some smokies. Both are delicious, good turnaround time and friendly easy to deal with staff. I highly recommend RDM to anyone looking for a great butcher shop. My kids are still learning to appreciate wild game flavor so having some of the meat processed into jerky/smokies is the way to go. I have been here several times now. Today I was in to pick up a pre ordered goose, the store was understandably full being December 23, we waited maybe 10-15 min for our turn at the counter and for the order to be tracked down and brought out. One of the butchers hands us the goose and says we have waited too long and the goose was free. I was floored. This is customer service without parallel. As to the general quality and experience the other times I have been in I can say only good things. The help behind the counter is prompt and extremely skilled at what they do. Their products are very fresh and of a high quality, not to mention locally sourced, a very good selection of meats as well. To top this all off the prices are more than reasonable often coming in lower than the big grocery chains (save-on etc) Would highly recommend this butcher. I will continue to get all my meats here and suggest that others check it out as well.

Always order the smoked brisket in the Saturday’s they have it. Last couple have been a bit on the poor side. This week ordered 3 pounds and got 1.1kgs. A fair bit less for a dinner for 5 and the brisket was sliced off a large piece and was probably 25-30% fat. Good thing we had lots of sides. Flavour was good as always.

Ordered a prime rib roast a month ago for dec 19 pickup through their website. Received confirmation right away, and the roast was cut and packaged on the 19th, so it was Fresh and ready when I got there. Due to Covid19, they are having 2 customers in at a time, and seem to be asking customers who come in 2s to have someone wait outside so they can help multiple at the same time. The line went fast and the service was great. This is my go to butcher shop.
