This is one of my favourite grocery stores. Everything is fresh, you can find quality products and staff are really nice. I ordered a custom birthday cake from the bakery and they outdid themselves (vanilla with chocolate fudge inside). The clerk was very receptive to my requests. It was so nicely done and yummy that people were asking, during the birthday party, where I ordered the cake! Will be ordering again for other birthdays. Thank you! Edited to add: My brother and husband work all kinds of hours and love that this grocery store is open 24hrs! Such a plus.

I can't believe this place is open 24/7! It's very clean, the staff is great, and their selection is awesome. You can find candy at this place that you probably haven't seen since you were a kid. I loved the fact that you can buy half a pie here. This is a great stop for a late night snack binge.

Today was the first time our family stepped into a Freson Bros grocery store. We were super impressed. Very clean and organized. You can tell the owners take pride in their product and the services they provide. Loved seeing all the local selection. The organic and natural section was quite large. From the butcher smoke shop to the salad bar.. Loved it all. Definitely going back and recommending to friends. Can't believe we hadn't come across a Freson location before today!

Great store with wonderful products. Reminds me of Thrifty's in BC. A place where you can rely on the quality of the products. Only thing is, and it surprises me, there are No Organic Fresh Breads!!! All these beautiful flour and seed combinations that are good for you but None are organic. So I don't buy bread there. Head straight over to Cobbs instead. Too bad

Terrible customer service. Collect the stamps, fill the cards, get free stuff. Not at this store!! They would not accept my stamps. They say you have to sign up for some b.s card. Why then do the displays all over the store say redeem a certain number of filled stamp cards and receive free product? Will never spend another dime at this location.

The store is beautiful, spacious and well laid out. It is not crowded during the day, week days. The service at the food counter and restaurant are exceptional, with tasty meals offered and a fresh salad bar included. The store also features a great selection of products, including organic produce and products, the best fresh meat in the area, Alberta beef cut on site. There are fresh baked goods and a pharmacy. For those that do shift work, it is open 24 hours a day. I love this store. However, it is more pricy than Safeway or Co-op in Stony Plain and even more so compared to Superstore or Wal-Mart in Spruce Grove. If you prefer quality of service and products, a pleasant non-rushed atmosphere over the money spent, this is the place for you. There is a loyalty program for frequent shoppers where you get free products, which does save you money in the long term. Free carts and great parking. The photo I posted are fresh roses that were in the bathroom during one visit to the restaurant.

This place is awesome. I came here every single day for lunch while I was working in the area. I also ended up doing most of my shopping here during that time due to there excellent prices & friendly service. Their lunch selection is absolutely amazing and delicious. From great fresh made sandwiches to something more warm and hardy. Service is excellent with a local friendly vibe. If you’re like me and working in the area you cannot beat this place for a healthy lunches. Highly recommended.

Expensive, middle of the road food. I cannot believe the prices here. 6 bucks for a roasted piece of chicken leg/thigh. When two bins over you can get a 9 piece fried lightly seasoned chicken for 12 bucks. Wth? 8 bucks for a full roasted chicken at Costco. This place would be more worth it if they dropped the pricing it is way out of whack imo.

I came to Freson's to grab some bread and lunch for hubby a couple of nights ago and I saw a woman fall very hard. I slipped going back to my truck thankfully I had my hand on my door and that stopped me from hitting the ground i pulled my shoulder a bit from the grab. But That was better than hitting the ice. Why is that parking lot not cleared? You do realize Handicapped people and seniors come there and that would be horrible if they fell. Your lot was very icy under all that sandy looking snow. It should have been cleaned. I hope this gets done because that woman was hurt I saw her foot slip right back and face down i saw it and it made me question crossing the lot. Oh and Yes I would have gone face down too if my truck wasn't right there. I hope you treated her right that messy lot is your responsibility not ours. I'm sure people do not know this but you can be sued for the condition of your parking lot when they fall. I'm coming shopping Sunday please have it cleared. Thank you.

Went in my first time and the selection was amazing, the meats department was hands down the nicest I have come accross with awesome quality meats.. The deli has larger rectangle pizzas for 16.99$. By far the best deli to-go pizza we have bought. . Our cashier was extremely friendly (no self check outs thank goodness) .. Overall after one visit this place is now our go to grocery centre.. I'll gladly drive from the grove right past Walmart for Freson Bros ! Thanks !

The food here is really good, the meat is sometimes overdone but for a grocery store pretty good. My biggest complaint is probably how incredibly sweet the chilli was, I don't know if it's always like this, but I found it so overwhelming that I couldn't finish. Why on earth is there so much sugar in a savoury meal, I know tomato sauses need sugar to balance the acid but this is just too much it's like eating a bowl of sugar. I hope the owner reads this and adjust the recipe especially in an age when we know how bad added sugar is for us.

March 31 2020 i went shopping there. Bought a treat for the kids( kinder bueno). Turns out its expired in january. Thats not the first time this happened. Also a few month ago bread which was a day old had a new sticker with new date on old sticker.

Such a GEM of a place! We recently moved to the area from Edmonton, and couldn't believe I'd never heard of Freson Bros! The decor, atmosphere, selection/variety, staff and cleanliness are 5 stars alone! A little on the pricier side for some items, but well worth it for the convenience of 24 hours and peaceful shopping experience. Every staff member I've encountered have been sincerely kind, friendly and helpful! Including the pharmacy and the gentlemen Reg who pushes the carts and takes to time to say hello and jokes around, such a great small town Mayberry feel to this place. I recommend it to everyone, including my Edmonton friends and family. The meals in the lunch line and the all you can eat specials are wonderful and worth it even just for the quick stop in! I also have to mention how much I enjoyed how easy everything is to find, and prices clearly marked. As a blossoming baker, I also really enjoy spending time in the special "Baker's Shop" with a little bit of literally everything! There were fresh flowers in the washroom, and the Deli is always well stocked and smells AMAZING with their onsite made smoked meats. Freson Bros makes grocery shopping an enjoyable experience again and at the same time, feels like a taste of the "good old days" while still being modern and efficient. Can you tell I'm a fan? ????

I'm vegan and I'm always looking for new vegan products. I haven't been here in a while because they were carrying things I could get elsewhere, but I went in yesterday to see if they had brought in anything new and WOW did they ever. Their vegan cheese section rocks. On top of stocking most flavors that other stores don't stock, they have brought in all the Daiya cutting board shred flavors. They even have large Daiya yogurts (I've never even heard of them) that actually tastes like yogurt. In short, they have products that I can't find in any other store (specialty or regular) in Edmonton or Spruce Grove (even though I've been requesting some of these things for years in other stores), so I will definitely be going here for now on. I'm very impressed. I hope they bring in even more vegan options.

Absolutely phenomenal! Freson Bros. catered my wedding 225-person wedding in January of 2018. I couldn't be happier with both the service and the quality of food they provided. The night began with a giant charcuterie display featuring artisans cheeses and meats. It was a huge hit! The dinner was equally as delicious, and I was thrilled they were able to customize my buffet. We had a 1920s-themed wedding so incorporating 20s-styled dishes, like a Waldorf Salad, was really important to me. Oh, and the tortes were amazing! I had a total of 6 different tortes for people to enjoy during dessert. Jay even let me taste-test prior to selecting which ones I wanted. People are STILL talking about how amazing the food was at the wedding. Thank you, Freson Bros.!

Nice place, we shop there a lot, they are definitely higher in price than the other guys, but it is a convenience thing, you don't always feel like driving farther when you need some bread and milk Just avoid the Buffet they offer... it is way over priced, it's mediocre food being billed out at ridiculously high prices, when you go to pay for it... you will almost fall over at what you were charged for so little food.

Sooo, while there's the typical gouging this store does, and the supposed sexism against its women employees, I visited this location today in the middle of the corona pandemic, and the employees at the food counter were literally huddled together taking a selfie. None of them were wearing masks. None of them seemed concerned about safety precautions. It's incredibly unsettling that people handling food can't even figure out how to handle government guidelines. I did love this place, in spite of its shortcomings, but I don't think they have a clue how to deal with cleanliness or germs or cross contamination. They don't take employee or customer safety seriously, and that sucks, because they're local, and it's be nice to support local. Oh well

A bit pricey for some items but just shop around and you will find great deals as well. Love the smell of the smoker in the back always makes me crave bacon!

Beautifully laid-out and magnificent selection. Shopping here is like taking a trip to an exquisite farmer's market while on your regular grocery run. Homemade soups, baked goods, salads, hot foods, in-house smoked and butchered meats are all a treat. The prices can be a bit higher than the big chain stores (depending on what you buy) but, you'll get high-quality products for the price. When I want something special, I make the trip to this store.

The hot food value has gone downhill since I first started shopping here 8 months ago. Their portion sizes for their $9 sandwiches used to be far larger and I expect far more for the price than a tiny bun. My wife used to love their mac and cheese; her recent order was flavourless. We started questioning their food service when their prime rib dinner ran out of potatoes 90 minutes before it ended. I don't know what changed in their hot food philosophy last winter; but, there are far better $20+ fast dinner options out there for a couple. Please note that these comments just reflect the deli - the store itself is higher priced but it's to be expected for higher end 24 hour convenience.

Much better than I expected. Originally I heard that it was pretty expensive at the store because they're open 24 hours. But the truth is I've got a great selection great sales and huge section for people with food allergies. This is really key is my wife is lactose intolerant so I was able to find some awesome stuff. 24 hour shopping comes at a price. Expensive groceries; even store label items are priced at a premium. They do have some great quality specialty items, but it's probably cheaper to drive to Edmonton to get the same. Store layout can be confusing, if you're used to most supermarkets. Like most big markets, food bars and bakery items aren't necessarily made in house.

The reason I drive out there (from Edmonton) in the dead of winter is for the chicken in their Kitchens restaurant. Pair it with mashed potatoes and root vegetables and you have a meal beyond compare. I always order more chicken than I can eat and microwave leftovers using a paper towel-not plastic wrap for perfect leftover chicken. The rest of the store is quite pricey. An example is the Asian bowls found near the deli--9.99 there verses 7.99 everywhere else. Pie, while very good, about double the price of superstore. Overall, worth the trip for the chicken.

Its a tad on the expensive side for groceries but quality comes at a price. Anyways definitely would recommend for a lunch at some point!

My faith in Customer Service has been restored. I am from Ontario and googled grocery stores in Stony Plain. I checked out the website and decided Freson Bros Fresh Market was my choice. So i phoned and asked for Floral. I got this energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, happy, delightful, accommodating, and patient fantastick young lady named "AMANDA" I wasnt sure what it was exactly i wanted to order at first. Today was was my daughters birthday. She works at Forest Green School. I wanted to surprize her. Amanda knew i was unsure so she made a few suggestions then offered to send me pictures. Oh my gosh. This is service. So i decided one fresh bouquet with tropicals, one hens n chicks in black stones with black/pink/white layerd sand. And a palm in a glass vase with black/pink/white layered sand. She packaged it all so beautifully, added pink ballons, a mylar and pink ribbon. She remembered i mentioned pink was my daughters favourite. Before she called the taxi for delivery she once again text me pictures of the finished product. It definitely had the "WOW" factor. Exactly what i was looking for!! My daughter text me from her work 1/2 hr later and was completely surprized and overjoyed at the breath-takingly gorgeous flowers and plants. AMANDA YOU ROCK, thank you so much for every single detail and fabulous service you provided me. I will be contacting you for future floral orders. Freson Bros. Fresh Market is very fortunate to have you as an employee !!!!!

I am a single senior trying to eat relatively healthy. I could buy single head of romaine lettuce but now Freson's has switched to the 3-pack of romaine lettuce which is too much for one person and would only rot before consumed. Freson's need to keep the single consumer in mind as well as the family.

Posted prices are often not given at checkout. They charge GST at random. Some flavors of my favorite ice cream (Pinochio) 1L they charge GST on and other flavors. They advertise a 15% discount on the 1st of every month. Don't trust them that they will apply it at the cash register. It's too bad as I was really rooting for them as an independent.

Very crowded at front of the store. Weird long line up at separate till. Big orders and small. I only had bananas so wanted a line for small orders. Not enough tills open. I usually shop at Safeway that has a line for small orders or self check out. Dont see self checkout at this store. Overall I was very disappointed.

I have to say, I love this store. It is clean, well organized, and smells of meat smoking. They do their own smoking of meat there. The prices on some things are a little higher, but when I don't have to jump from store to store to get nice veggies here and something else at another store, well to me it is worth it. The staff is very friendly and I can have a sit down lunch right in the store. There chicken is really good. Check it out.

Used to love the store and the atmosphere but now it has changed a lot in the past few months and everyone has seemed to quit especially all my favourite cashiers.now everyone seems miserable and not happy to be working I find most of the new staff to be rude and not friendly. I was sitting chatting with a cashier and an employee came up and yelled at the cashier for talking to me and told them to go do something, I used to love coming here because it felt like home and a unique grocery experience now it just feels like going To Walmart. Also quality of products has gone down while prices seem to be going up the hot kitchen is way over priced some times I find myself paying 20$ For even just the small take out boxes they need to figure out a way to properly price heavier items in the self serve area of the deli and taco day is way over priced for the tiny tacos and hard old tortillas and dry chicken. Still I love the variety the store gives but I find myself shopping here a lot less.

Will we just dropped in for a few things but was bewildered why there was so many people at the in-store restaurant...than it hit me, it's FRIDAY! They have a special on every Friday, usually it's an all you can eat special. We always find this store excellent to grab a few nessasary things but we also find it a tat expensive if you don't in for the sale items. But that being said the store has always been very clean and well stocked. Oh and they have their own in house smoked items too.

Very nice grocery store, well maintained, full marks for presentation and decor, very country style. Good quality fruits and produce... and you will notice strategically placed caramel dip in and around the fruit. ( too bad I just started Weight Watchers) They must have a smoker in the back because it smelled really good in the meat aisle. The cakes and other goodies look great. They have a really great salad bar and we're planning on trying out the restaurant sometime. I liked the checkouts, old turntable Style like what I remember growing up. The first day of every month they give 15% off your groceries after you spent $75 or more. And they're open 24 hours. The only downside is that they are a little more pricey for groceries.

First off let me day I love the store. Always stocked and always fresh. Meat department is to die for. However the last time I was there (yesterday) I needed help to the car. The girl rang me up and halfway she made a very loud call for someone to help me. She finished ringing it up, took my money and pushed my cart to the side. I waited and waited and it was very clear to me no one was coming. She saw me standing there and waiting waiting but did not call for who ever to help or check on it. I ended up struggling to the car myself.

Decent if you need to quickly grab a few things and dont care about the price. Otherwise it’s expensive. I don't need the family essentials program for every day staples, I'm in the organics section mostly and you guys are way pricier than superstore. The family essentials program is still more expensive than other places. Even your kombucha is way more expensive when you break it down, a dollar more on a $4 drink is a high percentage even though it doesn't sound like a lot. It adds up. Like i said, grab a few things when necessary for convenience, never do a full load shopping trip here.

Usually I'm quite happy shopping at this store aside from the fact that a lot of items are overpriced, but can get some stuff here that you can't find anywhere else. Usually I find their bakery items are delicious, but that was not the case yesterday. I bought a 3 tiered birthday cake that was absolutely horrible! The girl told me it was white cake with cream cheese icing and filling. Well when I cut into it it was obviously half frozen, it was not cake but more like a bread, tasted horrible! We had one slice and couldn't get through that. Will end up having to throw out. That was a definite waste of $25 and didn't make for a nice birthday cake for the person's birthday. Will still shop here, but will be careful what I buy.

How about you quit frauding your customers... you mislabel meat products as crown roasts when they are actually just a rack of the thinnest ribs, frenched, and then wrapped around a pork roast. Very disappointed! LIARS LIARS! You have just lost a customer, and in a town as small as stony, you will feel it, cause we spend hundreds...thousands$$ there, well, used to! PIC to follow. ****************************************************************** Best shopping experience at a grocery store EVER!! Very well kept inside and out. Very clean store, everything is front faced and the vegetables are superb. Now if only their flower department carried lilies... I would have no need for safeway ever again. They have fresh cooked meals prepared in store which blow the restaurant fare outta the water. They also have a salad bar that has a huge variety and also very fresh.

I recently shopped at your store in Stony Plain. I have been loyal to the Freson brand because it’s Alberta based. But after my recent experiences, it will be my last time shopping here. In the last 6 months the quality has gone down. I am not sure what has changed but the quality and the vibe from the staff isn’t the same. No one seems happy to be there. The bakery, the quality doesn’t match the price. When purchasing bread you have to check every label on the shelf for the freshest loaf of bread or buns or cookies. I recently went to buy a loaf a bread and it was three days old. The cookies at times are five days old! Looking for hotdog or hamburger buns in the afternoon around 2 and there are none left, ask staff and they tell you they are done cooking for the day but their shelves are empty of the popular items. I have purchased the Tortes as well, every flavour has been a chalky texture and the strawberry cake at times has unappealing strawberries. That look like they have passed their expiration. Going through the general grocery areas and there are lots of holes in the shelves. When asking staff if there is more in the back, without checking they alway say no. when purchasing cereal over 70% of the popular flavours are gone giving a shopper no options. Going into dairy section and trying to complete my weekly grocery list and there is typically many empty milk spots and no options to purchase that percent in different sizes. The deli, typically has a lot of stuff that has been sitting for a while and you always have to check expiry dates because most things are close to expiring. At the deli counter most appear to be “too busy” to help customers. Again, most of the time most things are out of stock. The hot kitchen is WAAY over priced for the quality of the food! Going to the serve side almost everything looks like it has been sitting there all day and the taste at times is inedible. The weighed hot section is hit or miss. If you get there when it has just come out, it may be ok but most times, it has been sitting there way too long. The take and carry chicken always seems to be dry and tastes like it has sat there all day to dry out. The meal theme nights are hit or miss as well. The taco night is a disaster most things sit empty for a long while and when the staff bring more items they bring very little out. The chicken is always dry and it way over priced for what you get. We were there for taco night one evening sitting by the till and the gal working and couple of her coworkers were making fun of a guy for how much he had eaten. I haven’t there since because it makes me wonder what it said about me when I leave. The fish and chips night is only good if you arrive when it’s fresh. Most times the food has been sitting too long and it’s soggy. The pasta night was a complete ripoff, the pasta was always old and the meatballs were horrendous. The pharmacist, Loretta is the only saving grace for me. She is absolutely amazing! Always goes the extra mile and is incredibly patient and kind! The produce and meat departments are good too because the products are usually high quality. My last and final experience was cashing out at the till. I was in line to pay in one lane and there was a gal sitting at a till without her lamp on. I was standing in the next line when she said I have no here come to my till. I went over and said that I didn’t realize she was open. She looked at me and said most people don’t just sit at a till for no reason and then I pointed out that her lamp wasn’t on and she rolled her eyes and walked away. All of a sudden a young guy came and continued packaging my groceries and he was really great but I couldn’t get over how rude the young girl was to me. I am fine to pay higher prices for my groceries if the service is there BUT it’s not!!

Has a good selection of hot and ready foods that are available to take home or eat right there in a cafeteria that is warm and welcoming, is kept clean, and has nice little touches like chilled lemon water on tap. Also available to take home or eat there are their wonderful baked goods. Any one I've brought there has always enjoyed them tremendously. A great addition to the community. After researching where you get your chickens from, bought two of the fryers currently on sale. I have nor enjoyed chicken lately, it just tastes odd.have to say these are delicious. None of that excess wierd fat that you see on chickens pumped with antibiotics, the tasteless limp meat. These are moist and flavorful, tastes like chicken! I am thrilled to have a source for poultry again!!!
