Excellent selection, carefully prepared and they support local farmers! Knowledgable and friendly staff. Highly recommend the bone in rib eye, wagyu, pate's and house made sausages. Lots of interesting condiments to choose too.

Love this place, the staff are great and they have a good selection of healthy meats. I suggest trying the red barn bacon and making a BLT out of it to treat yourself.

Black and blue meatballs, (bacon and blue cheese) who knew? marinated skewers and wings of all flavours, bacon wrapped sausage cheese things and I’m set under budget. The BEST meat shop on the island!! Amazing selection from local farms, quality meat raised on ethical farms. Before covid, they were always great when I brought my own containers in for meat. Not bringing my own containers now, but still very friendly, very helpful. Have done curbside pickup and in store shopping and both experiences have been amazing. Their staff is incredible, so friendly and helpful, genuine caring people. I highly highly recommend meat craft!!

I came here for the non-plastic packaging. However, the lack of social-distancing & customer capacity enforcement; plus the employee's insincere response when I pointed out the over capacity problem make me not feeling like coming back. Update - thank you for the reply, but that was not what I meant. The elder couple was very respectful, it was a man who came in while there were already 4 of us in the store but staff still served him. After I reported to you, your words were apologetic but the tone made me feel like I was being laughed at as if it wasn't a big deal and I felt embarrassed. Maybe you didn't mean it.

Fantastic service, and their selection of humane meat products (perhaps a bit of an oxymoron, but let's not open that debate) is second to none. I'm new to the world of smokers/low and slow grilling, and they gave me tons of advice. Super friendly, and their prices are really quite good also. So far I've tried some steaks and some chicken from the big freezer box, and both were exceptional. The steaks were the best I've ever had outside of Hy's!

"Wow" is all I have to say about Meat Craft. Oh wait, I should say more. First off "Boar Bacon". Yaaa that's right! The smell is incredible even before you cook it. The sausages are freakin unreal. I love the shop right down to the very cool propane bottle lights (look up and you'll see). Everything is always fresh and I love the selection. Very clean store with helpful and polite staff. This place will knock your socks off and you'll be left wondering how you servived without Meat Craft!

All the staff is friendly and I am happy to travel from central Nanaimo to get meat from them. My favorit is Wagyu which is Japanese breed beef. I am Japanese and I am so happy to get it even if it a bit expensive. Meat is tender and fat is sweet and it feels like it melts in your mouth. I buy the Wagyu when we have guests or for our treat!! I make sauce with bourbon, soy sauce, dark sugar, Dijon, hot sauce and garlic. You can marinade or grill first and pour sauce on it. You will be amaze at how good Wagyu tast!! I am so happy that I can get Wagyu beef in Nanaimo! I also like their salamis by the cashier they are so good with beer or wine. Another comment I want make is, I love their ground meat. They are so meaty. I make bolognaise with it , chillies, burgers even Asian food, the bits in the ground meat makes food so tasty. Another one of my favourite is bacon wrapped cheese!! I cannot express the taste but it is so good! It is nice to have craft meat shop like this in Nanaimo. I assume they don’t use chemicals on meat that makes meat red and look good. I like to buy the meat it a bit brown because they supposed to be brown when it’s aged.

Shop here if you want the best quality meats at the most competitive prices! I have bought meat from all the stores like COuntry Grocer, Supersoter, Save-On, Thrifty's and more and Meat Craft blows all of them away in terms of selection, quality, and pricing. Meat Craft is the only all natural butcher and they source their meats from ethically raised sources. Plus, they usually have in house recipes for sausages, marinated beef and chicken, and more. They have all sorts of specialty items as well like organs if you are into that sort of stuff. I never have to wait and it is actually an enjoyable shopping eperience instead of the rushed and impersonalness of a normal grocery store. Give Meat Craft a shot and you will likely become a lifetime customer just like me!

OMG, WOW The choice and quality is amazing! Initially it was a friend who served me a 'Chuck Norris' burger and it was amazing! So I stopped into the shop! As the NEW butcher in what was previously a one butcher town, I was suitably impressed. Of course I picked up some more of the above mentioned burgers, I also got some of the best steaks I have ever had on the island. I highly recommend people take the time to visit, you will be happy you did.

I needed a tenderloin roast to make Chateaubriand on zero notice, because the grocery store forgot my order.... best screw up ever.
