We are a year into covid and this place is STILL an organizational disaster. The staff treat people like lepers. This is the only grocery store with mega long lines all through the store and huge waits...very few tills open. Its almost like they like the idea of delaying people, making them wait, ruining their day. Terrible experience. Won't shop here again. Other grocery stores are completely different than this.

Overall good. The staff are relatively pleasant and the store appears well kept. However, be diligent about checking expiry dates. They dont rotate/dispose of product regularly. Theve had expired baby food (expired nov 6) that was still there today dec 16.

I purchased two cases of peppers on Sunday for 6.88 and I was told that they would be getting more on Tuesday because Monday was Labour Day. I went in on Tuesday and now they were $9.99 a case. I asked for the manager and showed him my receipt proving the $6.88 price but he said that he couldn't honour it for me. This is still the same shopping week. He said that their prices change from one day to the next. I used some of my points to pay for them and was told that I would have to get a gift card for that as they couldn't credit the points back. Once I lodged a complaint with head office, I was offered the return of my points! Poor customer service and inconsistent pricing. I don't think they deserve a single star. Why not honour the price or give me the points back? Why have it escalate. Larry Antonio is a poor manager!

I had the woman at customer service today refuse to take my passport photo today because she was "too busy", but I was the only person in line and all she was doing was restocking the scratch tickets. Very disappointed with the bad service I received.

One of the larger grocery stores in Guelph. There is a large selection for most things. An organic department, flower shop, pharmacy, deli, olive bar, bakery (They do birthday cakes to order). Recently, their photo department closed (which is a shame, they were good and good value), they only have self-service photo printing kiosks now. Friendly staff, but often hard to get help in aisles.

My Family and I enjoy the variety of fresh products; fruits, vegetables and baked goods. Even already made dinners that are quite healthful. For the most part pricing is decent for the good quality you get. Staff are helpful and do a wonderful job in maintaining cleanliness and keeping items filled for their guests. The front entrance can be a little congested with the foot traffic in and out, the cart coral and the section where they do the online shopping for people who ordered online. Great place overall.

This store I see as a local economy drain. They attempt to sell as much as possible and have so many different shopping categories jammed into one store that they seem to be inexplicably trying to take as many of the consumer in this area that they can which thus causes a lack of economic growth for others stores owned by local residents. I do not think this business honestly cares about the local city and are just another chain superstore looking to take the market. With a superstore going out of its way to accomplish this they amoung others like Walmart make it next near impossible for local residents to start up a family business and actually go somewhere. Most residents are stuck working for these places. These places also sell more foreign products then local products so even furth damage the economy selling goods to us for other countries economies. The owner of this location is also a sexist bigot who has not given any of his supervising or managing staff a pay raise above minimum wage. Also. When I first came to this town amd was homeless the owner of this location called the cops on me for asking for charity or food amd got me a 150 fine for illegal panhandeling. But. A week later I saw the same man give a girl who was doing the same as me a 50 dollar bill and a couppe bags of food. This store does not support the interested on St.Cstharines. It only interested in its own expansion amd market shares. Also. Their International isle is a joke compaired to Food Basics. They dont even have the simple things like real jamaican water crackers. Food Basics has the Excelcior brand straight from the island as well as all the beloved coolrunnings spices.

Went to the pharmacy today to get a flu shot.. BIG sign at the front of the desk that says flu shots available by walk in and appointment.. The desk is busy and I have to wait about 10 minutes...no biggee.. finally my turn and I am told oh sorry we arent doing flu shots today just Covid??!!? I pointed out the large sign at the front of the desk but it fell on deaf ears.. Seriously... if you have a frickin sign at the desk that says you do it...then do it!!! Reat assured I will not be back to this pharmacy again for anything..

Man I gotta say when I saw the sale on the yogurt I really enjoyed going to the store like before it was just a normal Zhers but when they brought that yogurt in it was a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL I MEAN I GET MORE WITH THE SMALLER CUPS then I do with the BIG CONTAINER on top of it I have allergies and I can finally have flavored yogurt like banana strawberry and peach and ends up having actual peach chunks in it. So that's pretty cool. I sent like probably $30 on yogurt because of the sale. Like it happened twice so that's pretty cool. However the store is not perfect since they took away the presidents choice frozen dumplings so I can no longer have dumplings with my college experience. Yeah also there was this one guy I called "GateKeeper" probably the coolest staff member there I asked for his phone number when I was starting out in college and it's almost the end of the first year and I still haven't contacted him and I'm wondering if it's like to late to say hi or not. I feel kinda bad and I don't have yogurt to help my troubled nerves aaaaaaah sheeeeit I also don't have ice cream I goto to go get ice cream now...and it dark nice, nice

There is a clear sign on the plexiglass stating that if the cashier doesn't ask the customer if he/she would like to donate to the foodbank, the customer gets a free chocolate bar. Very simple and straight to the point. By the end of my exchange, the cashier had not asked me, so I said "Do I get a free chocolate bar?" She looks at me and snarled: "Take one if you want a chocolate bar so bad." When I pointed out: "That was rude," she just said that noone has asked her before. I pointed out the sign. "I didn't ask you." So Doreen on aisle 4 on Dec 23 at 8:54am, don't get defensive when someone points out something that you aren't doing that you should be.I didn't make up the chocolate bar rule.

High prices for product that is often 1/2 the price across the parking lots at Food Basics. Hit and miss on staff. Some are fantastic some are downright rude. On a more sour note; I was at the hot foods count and a gentleman in a wheelchair seat trying to get the staff member's attention as they proceeded to serve others who came up after him. I asked him if he needed a hand and helped him reach an item he couldn't quite reach. Then he took it to the crash at the end of the counter while they then help more people who came after him while he waits. It wasn't until I said something to the store manager who just happened to be standing nearby that they helped him. Never had an issue returning an item. The steaks are fantastic and there is a tonne of selection. They also have beer and wine which is good.

I come at least once a week to pick up lunch from the hot food/sandwich section. The food is always good quality but the impression I get from the staff is that I am bothering them. They are not friendly they are rude they say thank you at the end with attitude because they have to . I normally just get a sanwich and a pop I will stand there for up to 5 minutes for them to finish their conversation before they come to cash me out.

The new young girl has no idea what she is talking about and telling her customers in an extremely bad attitude the WRONG information, that is when she decides to serve her customers. I like Zehrs generally and shop at other locations regularly. This is one of their larger stores with lots of traffic. They seem perpetually understaffed and the staff always seems too busy to take time with customers which hasn't been my experience at other Zehrs stores. I've heard similar complaints from my friends. The meat, produce, etc. are up to the same high standards as other Zehrs though.

I come here twice a week. Every time I'm here, there's always a group (2-3.. sometimes up to 6) of employees hanging out at the Wine/Beer section. I don't really care normally but when I can't get down an isle because people are in a circle coughing and sneezing, this becomes a problem for me. I cannot get sick as my family has an at-risk member. Please... go into your staff room and hang out.

This is a large format with a significant Joe Fresh component. Prices are more premium than the No Frills banner of course with a much larger selection and stock. As a Loblaw banner, the PC Optimum reward program is, in my opinion, the best rewards system in Canada at least for earning free groceries between here, Shoppers Drug Mart and now Esso/Mobil.

This particular Zehrs store is my preferred location and largely due to proximity, the one I most frequently shop at. My only complaint is that no matter what day of the week, or what time of day I am shopping, there are never enough cashiers on duty to adequately handle the large amount of consumer traffic stampeding the checkout aisles. A few more staff members would go a long way in improving the customer experience, especially as the rest of the facility is actually very well organized and maintained.

Its weird but the food aisle is closer to exit rather than the entrance. The store is roughly half grocery and half home decor and outerwear. Was nice and clean and when I was there the shipping carts were all put away and not strewn about the parking lot like other grocery stores.

For a quick quality snack while your on the run that is satisfying for me it's the Zehrs hot case right inside beside the entrance. You can pick up two nice piece's of chicken with a side like potato wedges or onion rings for six dollars plus tax. They have chicken fingers, pieces of chicken, macaroni & potato salads plus quite a bit more hot case items. Kind of like a buffet, chose the type chicken piece you like dark or white. The only problem I find is you have to cash out with the grocery people, I wish they would always have the till open & available at the hot case. RETRACTION: Today is April 16th 2021 & I needed something nutritious to eat so I once again stopped in for a hot case item. I just wanted to add that Zehr's has a self checkout for the hot deli now debt only but quicker than going back to the main cash out. The chicken was really good today, 2 pieces of chicken & onion rings $6. Satisfying.

Zehrs used to be one of the few places to get certain things you’d otherwise have to drive out of the city for, but they’re slowly getting rid of these great brands and products to replace them with their own President’s Choice brand, which are usually inferior in comparison. Zehrs is a great place for selection. I find that the prices may be a little more, but you can buy exactly what you want. Suggestion for those who visit; they have a good pharmacy that does great job. The hot deli makes fantastic chicken fingers and wedges for those nights you don't want to have to make a meal. Last and certainly least, check out the bakery. They have doughnuts that make coffee shop doughnuts look like miniatures.

Regardless of day or time, there is ALWAYS a line and rarely enough staff to help bag etc. There is one particular cashier who is noticeable slow in the beer lane, which deters me from purchasing beer when I see her on the till. She will have side bar conversations with fellow staff members etc to slow the process down even further. Slightly frustrating.

This should be the standard for Zehrs. The place is well lit and kept clean. The staff are friendly but suboptimal at helping. There are always lots of checkout lanes. I have been using PC Express since March 2020 and I have nothing but praise for the service and safety measures. I normally wait less than five minutes for a pick up. If something isn't available I have received a phone call with a substition choice several times. For someone with food allergies this is important. Plus the staff is incredibly friendly, even though they are working their butts off.

Don't forget to read the last paragraph 2. Well, they've lost a star with me. Remember I told you I loved going there for that delicious full bodied sour dough brea. Sadly it has shrunken into regular sized, airy, tasteless fluff. I was upset the first time it happened but the bread kept coming home the same. No texture, barely any flavor, full of air fluffy. If I wanted that, I'd go buy a cheaper loaf of reg. white bread. Also, I have been disappointed in their baby celery. You take it out of the pkg. and it's all slimy at the other end and the stalks are dry and grainy through out. Just be careful when you buy veggies and fruit that is packaged. You will get some surprises. BUT....There is a lot of variety to choose from in every department. The drug store and optical office, the wine shop and the floral shop make it a multi-taskers dream.

I had a horrible experience dealing with Kathy the supervisor. long story short i found a plant that had a sale sticker on it for 50% off with excitement i quickly ran it inside to claim the item. I called Kathy over to help me out and she promptly did so by asking me to wait at the till while she got the original price tag, after standing there for 5 minutes waiting she came back telling me this bogus story about how people have been putting stickers on the plants and getting them at a lower cost insinuating that i had put the tag on the plant... I told her that she has to give me the plant at the sale price as per section 74.05 of The Competition Act . she looked at me and ripped the sticker off saying "no i don't" she then grabbed the plant and proceeded to carry it back outside. i asked for her name and assured her i would be writing a review, she then shouted across the parking lot that she did her job. I hundreds of dollars every week at this location and now i'm starting to think that i shouldn't continue this trend.

Acceptable grocery store.. I've been shopping here for groceries with my family for a long time. When the Costco opened, everyone went there. I mean it's a good alternative if you don't have a Costco card or you forgot it at home. The deals are little concerning, and the self checkout only pays with debit/credit. You can shop online and pick it up from the store which is great. The, what I like to call 'the clearance shop', is an alright, but sketchy place, but there's outdated clothes there. I like the Mark's in the store, great addition. I remember they had an electronics place in the store, but then it got downgraded into a photo Centre, and a phone place opened up there. You can get headphones there for a decent price.

Love that this store marks down “nearly expired” foods to sell them as opposed to throwing them out. We get things at a cheaper price, sometimes we try things we wouldn’t normally buy and it results in less food waste. Zehrs is a wonderful grocery store filled with all the delicious food and groceries you could ever want or need. Its clean and well stocked and the employees are always helpful and friendly. HOWEVER, the food is seriously over-priced for the average family (unless you strictly shop the weekly sales because those are generally pretty competitively priced). It's definitely a higher-end grocery store, so it's going to come with a higher price tag. But at least the quality with exceed your expectations!

Staff have allowed patrons to not wear masks, and to (also) walk not in the directions required (up or down aisles). I asked one unmasked woman if she had forgotten her mask and offered her a spare: she said no and kept walking the wrong way down an aisle. This was in view of staff. I hate to say anything bad about this store, but perhaps this post will help it understand it should take action, and support its workers to enforce its rules (they deserve support in this).

Pharmacy has good customer service. I give them 5 stars. The produce is sad, asking top dollar for decaying fruit and vegetables. I see this often when picking out the good from bad. Also had a 4L bag of milk that was sour as soon as I brought it home. The 4pack cheese bread was stale. The selection is great for oraganics and beauty products and ingredients you can’t find at no frills or food basics, Zehrs usually has them. Joe fresh clothing is cheap as in quality, it’s loses its shape fast after one wash and doesn’t look good after a few wears. Cashing out is fast as they always have Enough staff to cash you out. Bonus on the newly put in self serve check out.

I was treated very poorly by a cashier at Zehr's because of my service dog. She told me I should not have dogs in a grocery store. I explained that they are service dogs and she said it wasn't right and she'd never heard of a service dog. She told me she was allergic and then whispered "its disgusting". I spoke with Steve the manager on duty who apologized, but didn't take my number. Steve said the cashiers have training on service dogs. The lady in line behind me came up to me and said the way I was treated was horrible. I was polite and tried to educate without any success. Obviously I won't be returning to Zehrs.

Since the renovation, some designer thought it would be a great idea to change the isles and make the support posts not in where the shelves are like before but rather in the middle of the isles making it difficult to maneuver, especially with a full cart. Then there are all the displays in the middle of the isles that one has to move to get at products. Going shopping to purchase sale items and half of them are out of stock. Living out of town its disheartening to happen every time in there. It used to be our regular shopping store, now its about 5th on our list, only because there are a couple products there we haven't been able to find at other stores yet. otherwise we would only continue to go for the pharmacy, which has been terrific. if I could rate that separately I would give that department a 5. I personally stopped shopping there alone, I need my husband with me to push the trolley, its just that difficult. Then there are the staff, not always overly friendly. There is one gentleman that has been there a long time, he helps pack and gets carts and does a lot of things. He is the man! I like him very much, he's awesome! best staff they have.

He always says he's moving my water to be easier to remove but he actually makes it worse. My Neighbourhood Grocers. I only go for the people who I have come to know over the last 7 years working there. Good food selection. The bakery, deli and hot food counters are the reason for the low score. I have never seen anyone on these departments crack a smile. And so I avoid them and stick to Produce (nice folks). There is also a photolab as well as a Optician on site that I use. Store Manager Scott is always helping out. Some improvement in the three staff areas above may make me reconsider a higher score.

I love Zehrs generally, however I’ve never had great luck regarding meat at this location specifically. For the third time in 6 months I have had to return raw chicken. The most recent return (this past weekend) was the icing on the cake. The chicken thighs were green and smelled of rotting meat, with a best before date of June 29th. It actually made me sick just from handling it. I should have know better and not purchased it, all the chicken (under the chicken section in the meat department AND in the open cooler) were COVERED in sticky chicken juices. And when I returned the chicken the next day the customer service rep said that they knew there was a problem (turns out I wasn’t the only one that returned) but her manager was shocked to hear about it. Needless to say, Woodstock Zehrs is ok, has a good selection but is always busy, and crowded unless you go late at night, but I’ll stick to a different Zehrs where I work. At least that way I know I won’t get sick from just touching their fresh meat.

Bought 3 $100 gift cards and asked for triplicate receipts so as each recipient would get a receipt with their card and cashier wanted to know exactly why I wanted a receipt for each one and accused me of going to return them for the reason I wanted 3 receipts! This Zehrs always has excellent stock levels. Good variety of products. The cashiers are generally good though I'm tired of the awkward standoff on whether I'm going to bag my groceries or the cashier (p.s. the answer is not me). I use the self checkout most of the time which is great...until you have a problem. The cashiers at the self checkout 90% of the time seem completely bored and disinterested in what they're doing and that disinterest leads o extremely slow uptake on the fact that I'm standing there with an error on my screen silently counting off the seconds while they chat with their friend.

I was carefully trying to place our fragile eggs into one of the bags and suddenly another employee came around telling me that I am holding up the line. She said to hurry up. Then she started taking my purchased items out of my hands and started packing my items in my reusable bags very aggressively. She bruised our bananas. She did not keep her distance from me. She was touching shoulders with mine, not following the covid restrictions. Meanwhile, there were only 3 cash registers open. If she was concerned about the line up, maybe she should have opened more cash registers, or she should of opened one herself. It was very unnecessary to feel the negative energy from her. My hip was in pain and limits me on how fast I can move. I choose to never go to zehrs ever again after this experience. I really wish I got her name.

items are constantly charged more for than advertised on the shelf, the employees ignore you when you point it out. they put bigger price tags on items to make it look like they are on sale and have a limit of how much you can buy when it is less expensive at the normal price

Lots one of my groceries bags and called to see if they had Trudy was so helpful and actually genuinely cared. Told me if I can’t find it come in and see her no matter what. Lots of options and now they have an LLCBO. Prices are on the expensive side, specifically the produce and they are hit and miss of how good they tase (compare to other stores near them). Most of the time you will find what you want, but I use them as a last resort.

Zehrs is a nice grocery store with fresh produce and items are usually easy to find. I just had issues today with staff... They left a bunch of clothing racks and step ladders in aisles blocking stuff I needed to get at with a stroller! And the lady monitoring the self checkout spent the whole time standing in front of my machine, staring at me while I was scanning my items. Very unsettling!! Did she think I was going to try to steal stuff?? As I am a tired new mom I ended up staring back at her until she looked else where =_=
