One of the top butchers in Kingston. The staff here are always super nice and helpful and prices are usually the same or barely higher than the grocer for meat but as you'd except much higher quality. Definitely recommend the bacon and whole chicken. Prices are crazy low for what you get. They also have different burgers almost everytime I come in. Highly recommend. The deli is pretty unreal as well, had one of the best egg salad sandwiches I've ever had here. Nevermind the whole wall freezer stuffed with pre cooked goodies. It's worth the trip

Love this place. They have meats that are hormone free, grass fed and can custom order grass fed chicken. Even though its out way city bus goes here easy to get to. This is one of my go to butchers for meats. The staff really know the products they sell. Bought turkey n case of bacon. Good quality meats friendly staff good price can't go wrong.

Moved to Highway 15 last year and was recommended this shop by many people in the area. The quality is amazing, the customer service is great and I haven’t been able to go back to grocery store meat since! SO worth the extra $ for this level of quality!! (Prime rib burgers, the goat cheese stuffed chicken and rib eye steaks are my personal favourites!)

Excellent selection from a wide variety of cuts at the butcher section, various frozen foods, a cold meat counter with deli sandwiches made to go, as well as a nice variety of condiments and seasonings. Picked up 2 big chicken kebabs and 1 1/2 pounds of Miami style beef short ribs all for $21. Highly recommend! I’ll be back again soon for some steaks.

Terrible customer service. I’ve been in several times and have been ignored by the counter and salad bar staff. The most recent time, I was the only customer in the store and no one even acknowledged I was there. There was plenty of staff milling about and not one said hi, or that someone will be with me in a moment. Went straight to the salad section not looking around and not to be confused with someone still browsing. Got many unfriendly looks from some staff leaving and talking to other staff and then completely ignored and ended up leaving. The guys at the deli are always great and very courteous. But this is the third time I’ve gotten horrible service from the girls behind the salad counter and register.

Recently I purchased about 1.5 kg of AAA Ribeye steak ( 2 pieces each approximately the same weight) These were displayed in such a way that the amount of fat showing was acceptable, however once unwrapped and turned over, almost 1/2 Kg of fat was evident and had to be removed. When I complained about this, personnel (one who I think was a manager) at Barriefield Meat, I was told that Ribeye steaks are always heavy with fat and that they would do nothing to compensate for the loss of useable product. I was in fact told that one should know that Ribeye is always fatty. We will not be shopping here from now on.

Hi, I reserved a FRESH Turkey for Christmas Eve, at the end of November to be picked up on Christmas Eve. When I asked them for it the 2 guys looked at each other in a weird way and the guy went into the back. After he gave it to me, of course cold, I took it home and put it in the fridge. Christmas Afternoon took it out of the fridge to find it was FROZEN. I was charged for a FRESH turkey so they sold MY FRESH TURKEY to someone earlier. It took me hours to dethaw it and I'm not happy about it at all and will never shop there again!! So upset!!

Best butcher in town! My only complaint is they really only carry the good stuff. Sometimes I don't want a prime rib when an eye of round will do. That said, I'm sure if I called in advance they'd be able to make it happen.

Visiting Kingston recently I shopped at this establishment. As an expat Brit had to buy beef wellingtons and a steak and kidney pie. The Wellingtons were exceptional so I was excited to have the pie tonight. Just like Wellington pastry superb, the filling not so much no kidney but carrots ! Still 4 stars for great service and one of the best Wellingtons ever .

I so desperately want to give 5 stars for the amazing product quality and the meat counter alone. However, life is busy and sometimes it's just not possible for a full-time working person to make it there in the exact middle of the day. I've gone in a few times at about 4pm on a Sunday or 5pm on a Monday to get cold-cuts for the week ahead, a full hour before closing, and told by the staff that I cannot purchase cold-cuts because the machines have been cleaned. I understand the lack of service if I was popping in the last 15 minutes before store close, but closing down the machines an hour in advance is surprising. I've also tried to go in mid-day so I could get service and the 2x I've tried they've been sold out of most of their popular items or the meat is "in the oven" for later. I love the product quality, but I feel like I just can't catch a win here. The deli-counter feels like a lottery system and my luck isn't great. The guys behind the meat counter are truly the best. So attentive, knowledgeable, and will go above and beyond to provide customer service at all times when the store is open (even an hour before closing!). The difference of service between deli and meat counter is surprising for it all being the same store. Otherwise really incredible food and high quality items - great customer service from the meat counter :)
