Atmosphere was welcoming and fit the description of a very good steakhouse. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She suggested appropriate add ons and service was prompt and efficient. Steak was cooked perfectly and to a tenderness expected for the grade of meat and quality. We would be happy to go back and enjoy another dinner there.

I am not pleased by the way Im treated at this location. Im an easygoing person and I don't take things personally but their staff and their manager need a better training. The food wasn't that good either. I and my friends used to eat here once a week but not anymore.

Its hit or miss with almost every keg I've eaten I ask for medium well steaks I get rare inside and well outside, or a super small super thick cut. The mash potato is good and the twice baked. The wine is expensive and not many shiraz types on the menu. Dinner for 2 with 1 dessert and kid meal for a small child usually comes to $180 before tip so id definitely expect a perfect steak for that price.

Always amazing service and delicious food! Happy hour has some good deals. Love the Billy Miner pie for dessert! I love the steak, but also highly recommend the salmon (it is the best salmon!). The lounge side is where we prefer to sit as we love the ceiling-high fireplaces :) If you haven't been to the Keg, then you need to try it out!!

LOVE the keg!! always amazed by the food and never ever leave disappointed. yes sometimes you may be required to wait for a table. however when you get your food you almost forget how long you waited. Be sure to make reservations so you don't have to wait! highly recommend the lobster and steak with twice baked potato!! and the red sangria to top it off :)

We have gone to The Keg for our last two Wedding Anniversarys and have had great service each time. Turns out we've had the same waitress both times too. She's fabulous. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was great. All the staff we came across were professional and ready to assist us. We absolutely plan on going again for our Anniversary next year. Maybe next year I'll be more prepared for the food coma. I recommend this location to anyone who asks.

This is my favorite Keg location in all of Alberta. Everytime I'm in Fort Mac, I'm sure to stop by here. Always go to the lounge side. Get a blue cheese salad with steak. Amazing food! Great service. I love the layout here, huge location. Never been disappointed!

The best steaks every single time. Also amazing tuna stack and yummy vegetarian options. Unfortunately I have recently found God so if they had a halal or kosher meat option I would be there every week. Great seating and decor and staff is good too.

Fantastic location, awesome decor. Enthusiastic and vibrant waiter The appetisers were out quickly and escargot and cheese toast were awesome I had the steak and lobster. My only recommendation would be to order the 8oz as 6oz is small. The lobster meat is three huge pieces of claw meat that will satisfy that craving. The butter and herb sauce was fantastic. I'm not a huge steak fan mainly cause growing up things were cooked well done. Well I got this cooked medium and it's the best steak I've had in my life! HUGE props to the keg for finally doing what so many do not and giving me a huge portion of mashed potatoes. So many places are cheap with this and we all know what they cost! My veggies were alright. Other guests had ribs, chicken and ribs, the burger, and steak and Crab everyone loved their dishes, one friend had the bacon wrapped chicken and didn't care for it. We were celebrating a young man's 16th birthday and he got a delicious mocha ice cream cake dessert which was yummy too I will be back for sure !!

Pros and Cons for 4 people dinner Pros: - Clean environment: entrance door, table, toilets - Decent waiting time for food after the order was taken (around 15 minutes); appetizers (calamari) came after few minutes; - Everybody ordered ribs with fries or mashed potatoes. Ribs were delicious. Fries are fries. - Good service: every few minutes the servers passed by or checked the table visually without asking anything looking only for eye contact to intervene. - Not crowded at all on Saturday evening at 18:00. Cons: - Medium to high prices: 4 ribs (2 full racks and two half racks + one plate with calamari, no any drinks, taxes and 15% tips included was $221.) - Small tables and seats (benches); uncomfortable for 4 adults to seat at the same table. - The side salad ordered was coleslaw cabbage; on the plate was some cabbage sprayed with vinegar and few white color drops of some kind of sauce. - Horrible unpaved parking lot with a lot of big potholes.

New post Nov 25, 2021 I had a Baseball Top Sirloin Steak with Twice Baked Potato, veggies, Ceasar Salad and Fresh Bread Loaf. Steak was very juicy, te Der and flavorful. Potato and Salad were great as usual. The Free Bread Loaf is always amazing. My Fiance had. Rib Steak with Lobster Tail, Twice Baked Potatoe and Veggies. She wasn't overly impressed with her steak (over-cooked). She enjoyed the Lobster Tail, Twice Baked Potatoe and the Mushrooms (from the veggie medley). Overall, I was very pleased, with my meal and My Fiance wasn't impressed. - Old Post Steak had to be sent back 3 times. Rest of the meal was good though

Went with my boyfriend for our 2nd year anniversary and we loved it! Gina M. was just a fantastic server, she took care of us right of the bat, provided us with drinks and bread to start of the evening. Although we came during the peak of the dinner rush, Gina was sure to always check up on how we were doing with our meal, refilled our drinks and overall welcomed us with amazing hospitality! It also did not take long for us to receive our orders, which my boyfriend and I quite enjoyed. We also ordered a mini desert, and Gina went above and beyond and she came out with desert on the house! Overall an amazing experience. Will definitely recommend to those who are wanting a intimate/group location to celebrate or dine. Ask for Gina! She’s amazing ! One of the best servers we have ever had!

Placed an order 3 days ago for pick up for 6. 7:30 still no food and waiting. Whats the point of having time slots for pick up when you are that far behind. Yes its new years, yes covid but that still is not an excuse for horrible service. Just pathetic but typical Fort McMurray An hour and a half to get my food. Got it home and surprise not right. They messed it up. Unsatisfactory. Never again.

Always my favorite place to eat in town. Steak and Pistachio salmon will melt in your mouth. Also... I don't like crab or lobster but the mushroom Neptune is amazing!!! I can't even taste the crab meat. So delicious and creamy. Very friendly waitresses always.

I very seldom go out anymore, but our visit to the Keg is making me think that I should start again! Jenna was incredible. So professional, hilarious and sweet as pie. So sweet, in fact, I may have diabetes now lol. We kept her pretty busy as we are kind of needy lol but she was on it like white on rice. The food was excellent as it always has been, but the service we recieved will, WITHOUT A DOUBT, bring us back more frequently. I'm a manager at another restaurant in town, so I am VERY particular as a patron. Jenna gets a 10/10 in my books! Great job girl keep up the fantastic work!!! GIVE THAT LADY A RAISE!

The Keg has been a staple restaurant of mine for more than a couple of decades. This location is pretty decent. Most of the time our experiences have been really positive. When there have been issues with our meals (or issues serving staff) management has been really good rectifying things. I get that not all restaurants get everything right each time - and what stands out about The Keg - when something goes wrong (e.g., steak is overcooked) they are really good at fixing the issue as soon as possible without giving you a hard time. In general, the steaks are well-seasoned, well-cooked, etc. The twice-baked potato is delicious and worth the calories. The desserts are good but I hardly have any room left after a large meal – but they have mini ones that are the perfect size and worth ordering.

Rancid Prime Rib - Very unhappy with the manager here at 7:00 PM September 12, 2019. I have eaten at the Keg on many occasions and have had great meals. This evening, while out with a group of professionals I was eating prime rib. The last section that I was cutting into and put into my mouth was rancid. I explained to waitress and eventually the manager. The manager treated me as if I was lying and made no attempt to apologize. Hopefully no one else tonight at this Keg shared in the same cut that I did? Won’t be back and will warn off others. It’s a sad day for this carnivore!

The food was great, but as soon as we got home, we received an angry email claiming that we did not show up for the appointment. We called the restaurant to clarify that we were at the restaurant literally 20 mins ago, however, no acknowldgement or or even an apology was made. I was very disappointed with this kind of customer service.

This Keg provides the level service you would expect from the Keg; place is clean, severs are friendly and check up on you often. The meals are well prepared, and look great. Noticed lots of families with young kids. This is great to see. Parking is not much of an issue; parking across the street and beside the building. Long main entrance to keep you warm when there is a wait. Hosts are quick to greet you and walk you to your table when available. The lighting is dim for that romantic feel. Servers know the menu options and explain how the food will be prepared. Sound like a solid dining experience for Travellers and the Fort Mac Strong.

I didn't leave hungry. Service was OK. They didn't have any cheesecake because it was frozen and the waiter couldn't be bothered to give enough menus so I didn't bother to order dessert. It was a Christmas party of 8...big mistake on their part

Was told the wait time was 45-60 mins, was only 15 mins. It was busy, but when we got to the table, ordered drinks and came within 5 mins. Waitress was very nice and when we ordered the food came very quickly. Only thing that would have made it a 5/5 would have been when my mom and I were leaving, the three staff was just standing around talking and didn’t say thank you or have a good night.

I eat at this restaraunt every month and I am very familiar with menu Had the prime rib tonight, Asked for an end cut and was lucky to get. End cuts usually have more seasoning then mid cuts because of outer surface........mine had none....? No seasoning. The waitress asked how it was and I mentioned that there is no seasoning on my prime rib. She informed me she seasoned it her self and there is seasoning on it....... Left very disappointed.

I walked in the store and asked how long it would take to be seated, I was told that I have to wait an hour and a half. I left the store and phoned and asked the same question, I was told they could seat me right away. I talked to the manager she had no reasonable explanation. I feel insulted with the receptionists at the front and how they responded to me. I find them and the manager to be unprofessional and not the right people to offer proper customer service

Poor service; untrained server - did not know the menu and was pushing meal courses too fast! Cleaned the table upon request but touched the menu cards immediately without sanitizing. I hope this was a one off but poor experience for an expensive meal for sure.

I've yet to be happy with any meal that I had at the Keg. To be fair I only go there once ever one to two years. The service is great, the atmosphere is terrific but not happy with the steak preparation, taste tenderness or the plate presentation. Trust me I'm always hoping for the best experience, but always a let down for a higher end place. Sorry.
