I don't usually leave public reviews but I will make an exception for Solmaz as I looked for a decent butcher in Toronto for years and finally found the right place! Despite living on the other side of the city, I drive half an hour to get all my meat from Solmaz every Saturday. The meat is always fresh, high quality; they always greet you with a smile and the prices are great to top it off. Moreover, you can find pretty much all of the authentic Turkish delicacies here (kokorec, tripe, butcher kofte, Adana kabab, etc.) Top notch place! If you ever end up stopping by, ask for Yurt and he will take care of you.

Solmaz Food products are great, I'm yet to try everything, but I buy their salami and pepperoni frequently from different locations. I ordered pepperoni online from their sepet.ca site, order arrived next day. Definitely recommended.

Altough, meat products (sausage, salami, turkey slices) are very good; I am extremely disappointed with the minced and chopped meat (hopefully beef) I got. I specifically asked for low to medium fat, however, when I tried to cook I found out the meat is overly fat (you wouldn’t even need oil to cook it) and the smell was bad as well. This is very challenging to find fresh halal meat sold by honest folks these days :(

This was our first time. We were extremely impressed by the quality and quantity of fresh and packaged produce. Much of it Turkish oriented, but eg the meat counter had a broad selection of Canadian style cuts at reasonable prices. They also had many home made dishes. We sampled a dip called "Ezme" - from sun dried tomatoes. It was delicious and we promptly bought several of their dips. And all the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

Turkish bagels were amazing! I unfortunately became addicted to them.. To be honest, I was not expecting this kind of quality from those bagels but they were same with my hometown’s bagels. We also tried cube meats and they passed the taste examination of my mom.???????????????????????? Kokoreç was also good. During my visit at Halal Food Festival I had the pleasure to run across Solmaz Food Inc. display booth, where to my great surprise I found products which I was very much interested in for my family. I immediately spoke to one of the sales representatives, who was very kind, informative, profesional and very knowledgable about the products he was selling. He told me that his company only supplies to major stores and I should be able to find all products available today on display and for sale( today and tomorrow only - show opportunity) at those stores. Promptly I purchased numerous rods of salami and numerous peperets. My family and I live 4 hours away from Toronto, and we trully do not have any stores in the near vicinity that carry much of a variety of Halal Food. It was a blessing for me to find this company and be able to purchase these products.The only draw back is the fact that Solmaz Food Inc. does not have a retail store as to where I can dirrectly make my necessary purchases. That would be a drive worth for me to Toronto, as I would make my family very happy. I must say that my husband was thrilled with joy when he found out that I have brought hi salami. halal food is very scarce where we live and the store managers are very reluctant on ordering as they have to order a large quantity and the Muslim population in this area does not warrant that large order, hence grocery stores are not ordering Halal products.Solmaz Food. Inc. had made my life so much happier and easier, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I did my shopping in this boutique store over the weekend, had a family get-together on Sunday so I was planning to get some chicken meat. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The store had a special on marinated chicken thighs and wings in different flavors, so I got some drumsticks and wings among other meats and products. The meat was stored in my fridge overnight. The next day to my surprise, chicken drumsticks were already spoiled, smelled pretty bad, stunk up my kitchen! Wings were still ok, but chicken thighs were not that fresh as one would expect. It never occurred to me to check my purchase at the store for spoilage, I was trusting the freshness! So this was my first time I visited this store and for sure it was the last one!

Mr. Tahsin Solmaz the father of the Solmaz Family spent his entire professonal life as a butcher and the results are there. Two stars only because the staff is nice. Yesterday I went and purchased chicken thighs. The ones on the counter were old so they offered to make them fresh. Took 15 min but I was happy to get fresh ones. When I got home I noticed they had rushed the processing of them. Bones tendons skin still in the boneless chicken thighs. In the pictures you can see a pile of the stuff I had to cut away to get clean meat.

Giving one star due to customer service from Solmaz. We have been enjoying Solmaz’s products for a long time. I wasn’t expecting that upon my complaint (that their current batch of products that I bought aren’t tasting good) the owner wont stand behind its brand to protect it. Though I bought them from Iqbal Food Erin Mills but regardless from where you buy the company should stand behind their products and brand. He should have given me assurances to investigate the matter with Iqbal and should have helped me instead of saying I cant do anything.
